FOR RENT: 5.2 Mhs Mining GIVECOIN right now and ready to mine in your pool. I got lucky with a few early coins and now is your chance if you don't have a rig or just need some extra coins! https://www.betarigs.com/rig/4056

What about Mh/s ?? my R9 290 produce 2.4 MH/s, at another darkcoin(x11) i reach 8.4 MH/s

2.4mh/s sounds right for a 290 on X11, what coin do you get 8.4mh/s??

Coin: Aiden   "nfactor" : "6"

Interesting, might have to chuck a rig on that once I get to work. Thanks
That's not an X11, its a scrypt-n with a set N instead of being adaptive-n. Yeah I can get 25 Mhs on that one with two 280x and one 7870. Cool and quiet too Smiley Good coin, high value too

That sounds pretty good, might want to just double check your I. I'm getting about 2.05 on each 280x at 1013/1500

"libcurl.dll" is missing from the Givecoin miner...

Seriously...
LOL that's only the most important file, no biggie haha. Regular sgminer is working fine btw. Hit 2 solo blocks and working in the pool now.

It's missing EVERY dll file...

HAHAaaa thats awesomely horrible hehee! I still havent looked at it, I had to fight enough to get regular sgminer going smooth. Wake me up when it's over?

someone is mining thats for sure... another instamine scam?!?!
That was probably me, I hit it full blast about 60 seconds after the wallet was posted lol. Sorry for the rage posting earlier, it seems regular -X11 is working okay.

How about reschedule to never, unless you can use the normal X11 so me and others can lease out our rigs so the little miners who don't have rigs can get some coins? There's absolutely no reason to require a modded miner UNLESS you purposely want to screw the miners. It doesn't make sense. It makes no sense at all. No business sense, no mining sense, not even any scamer sense.

should've announced the new algo earlier everyone that rented a rig is going to shit on this thread

That's what I'm saying. First he says scrypt, okay then X11 good good!! Then 60 seconds ago it became -- givecoin algo? I was planing on mining this and renting out my rig tonight.

And what about all those little miners that rented rigs? Fuck them right?

we will upload the miner as well,
you'll need to use -kernel givecoin for gpu mining

You're joking right? That is a sick and twisted joke. LEAVE THE MINERS ALONE for **** sake.

the delay is because he need to upload the miner

Well that totally fucks everyone renting or leasing out their rig for this launch. I'm out. Good luck peeps Smiley

Can anyone share sgminer (darkcoin) cmd line examples for mining with x11?

I run mine with the .conf file and a .bat which seems to work better for sgminer. Here's my example with two 280x's and one 7870:

sgminer.conf
{
"pools" : [
   {
      "name" : "Darkcoin Pool",
      "url" : "stratum+tcp://mun.suprnova.cc:3434",
      "user" : "Anthropolis.1",
      "pass" : "2",
      "pool-priority" : "0"
   }
],
"api-allow" : "W:127.0.0.1",
"api-listen" : true,
"api-port" : "4028",
"failover-only" : true,
"no-pool-disable" : true,
"kernel" : "darkcoin",
"gpu-threads" : "2",
"gpu-powertune" : "-25,-25,20",
"worksize" : "256",
"lookup-gap" : "2",
"thread-concurrency" : "8192",
"shaders" : "2048,2048,1280",
}

And then my .bat file for in this example with those cards is:
sgminer.exe --kernel darkcoin -o stratum+tcp://drk.cpu-pool.net:3500 -u Anthropolis.gpu1 -p gpu -w 255 -I 12,12,12 -g 2 -l 1 --shaders 2048,2048,1280 --thread-concurrency 8960,8960,8192  --gpu-powertune -25,-25,20 --gpu-vddc 1.075,1.075,1.100 --gpu-engine 1000,1000,1000 --gpu-fan 20-100,20-100,20-100 --auto-fan --gpu-memclock 1499,1499,1399 --temp-target 70,70,70 --temp-overheat 90,90,90 --temp-cutoff 98,98,98 --lookup-gap 2

Then AFTER ITS RUNNING you can adjust the I ("intensity") up one at a time, let it sit for a minute each time and settle in, and if the hashrate is lower then back the I back down to the last number. 12 is just a good I to start up the miners because it's always stable... unless you cranked up the Engine or Memclock too much lol.

pretty close to the launch, maybe some updates from the dev's ? Is this coin gonna be launched at all ?

Yup, It's gonna launch as scheduled, 11pm eastern standard time 4/10th
We still doin this thing tonight? I see the OP doesn't have the link to the wallets but I found them on the site.

Where is the password going to be posted? PLEASE put it in the OP so we don't have to go looking everywhere for it lol. Thank you Smiley

Interesting. I'll try mining it soon.

You will find it to be an enjoyable change. Smiley
Can you please update the OP with how many coins per block? I still cannot figure it out and I've been mining for days now lol!

lol, im sorry. It's 50 ADN per block
I see now thank you! Great coin btw, the GPUs are thanking me lol

I'm working on getting a scrypt-n cpu miner to work with a set N Factor to mine this, just to see it work Smiley I'll keep everyone posted.
36  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: These new EFFICIENT x11 algos everyone is talking about ?? BULLSHIT or real? on: April 06, 2014, 06:28:19 PM

Just wanted to say thanks for asking some of the hard hitting questions we've all been wondering. I didn't read the 11 previous pages of probably mostly troll info, so thank you for also keeping the OP updated with the cliff notes hehe! Good thinking.

Now for what I've found so far in a couple months of throwing every algo at my gpus yet. I'm not doing scientific lab experiments here, just sharing what I've found, but I have been searching after some of these answers myself lately. So, don't take my findings as fact, just my own results so far with inconsistent testing.

I find Scrypt and Scrypt-N to generate the most heat, crashes, noise, and other general issues of unpleasant natures. It would appear to use much more electricity. I do know that this is part of the design of Scrypt, as it was intended to be intensive as an answer to early asic takeover of SHA. I'm about to the point of being sick and tired of the heat, noise, and energy of all things Scrypt.

So far I'm seeing X11 to be at least initially more gentle on the GPU. It would appear to use less electricity, clearly makes less heat, and thus less noisy. (I have sensitive ears so this matters to me, but doesn't matter to some.) I can't comment on it's security. I have better things to do than hack coin chains or wallets. I can say that X11 seems to be much more complicated to get GPU's tuned for, but hey sometimes that's part of the fun! Several friends have reported that finding as well.

As of yet, I am still unsure whether I'm pushing my cards to the limit with X11, and I'm not entirely sure I care enough about any of the X11 coins to find the limits.

As for "asic resistant", well I think we're past that as a community. This is just a myth that the inexperienced "coin devs" came up with. Being on computers for over 30 years, I can tell you there is no such thing. There is no asic for it yet, and that's about it. I or anyone else with enough time or money could make an asic for anything. I could make an asic that orders you a pizza, flushes your toilet, emails your ex'es, and hashes X11, if anyone would like to pay me enough money to design it Wink

One thing I would like to see discussed is actual profit. I do like the car analogy, but these Scrypt-N guys are constantly blowing up their racecars, and chasing coins that aren't really breaking the bank either thus far. For those who really like X11, and I'm not so much into it, we could benefit from seeing 24-hour profit comparisons versus the hotter / more electricity consuming algos.

If you can turn a similar profit at the end of the day with a cooler and more efficient algo, then that is a win for miners. For example, HVC ( Heavy algo ) is cool and quiet on GPU's and it's been almost as profitable for me personally in testing. But that's just one coin in one example and I'm not saying it's repeatable. I'm saying it is something we as a community should think about: efficient and hopefully safe algos that we can all still make money on and use as valid currency.

Just some thoughts, thanks for the brainstorming Smiley

Asic Newbie question: Can you direct the local proxy (thus the BE Cube) to mine in other pools too? I keep seeing "Slush's Pool" mentioned everywhere I research but I want to set mine up to mine to my CEX.IO/Ghash.IO pool account. I guess I will be finding out in a few days when my Cube arrives Smiley
38  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [PRE-ANN] ↑ Up Coin ↑ Always going up! [IPO] Ever changing algorithm ↑ on: April 01, 2014, 11:21:59 PM
Why why whyyyyy another Scypt-N guy just following the trend pack without any use of brain. Scrypt-N runs hotter, uses by far more electricity, and kills more GPU's than any other algorithm in the history of crypto. If you do not understand this, you need to do your own research and see for yourself.

Why would you or anyone purposely chose this algo when there are many other better algos to chose from? Don't you dare give me that "asic resistance" speech you got from brainlessly trolling other threads. There are other better algos that are just as asic resistant if not MORE asic resistant because I guarantee you someone is working on designing the asics for Scrypt-N right now since there are many coins using it now.

Asic resistant just means nobody made an asic for it yet because it can cost over a Million dollars to do properly from beginning to finished product. Other better algos that are just as "resistant" which doesn't really exist as I just said, are Blake algo, X11 algo, SHA 3 algo, Heavy algo, and others.

EVERY one of those I listed can be mined far more efficiently, quietly, cooler, and faster than Scrypt-N. These are facts, not just troll information spewed around forums. Facts.
