whats the deal with the low WU? I've just noticed that on mine and it seems that everywhere I look people's WU is nowhere close to their hash rate. All of my gpu miners have been around 95% WU to khash.

Here's a shot of a couple of my gpu's.

Is this an asic thing?

got my first one working in 30 mins on my Pi, been chugging along all evening like a champ. I ordered 5 more and will be following up with enough to replace my gpu farm. Definitely giving zoomhash all of my business.

geesh! come on people! These are basic ' how to' questions already answered right on this very thread!

My response to your questions for help is, "see page 1"
Capiche?

the polarity of the socket isn't stated here, just color codes. If you don't have color coded wires (and don't just check it with a meter like I should have to begin with) then it's a legitimate question...there are reverse polarity plugs out there.

It's there now.

thank you sir

heh, ofcourse, someone just had to be 'right about it'..  Shocked ... as if...

I am right Smiley Just trying to make sure I don't fry a $250 piece of electronics the first night I get it.

what's the polarity of the barrel socket on the gridseed? center positive?

Center/Red Wire Positive. 2.1mm ID 5.5mm OD

Yeah stupid me posted before breaking out the meter and seeing that the OD on the unit socket is case grounded...thanks. My plugs dont have color coded wires.

ZH, Can you show us a pic or provide details on the barrel plug adapters you're currently shipping? Specifically, which ones are coming with my order # 1384? I would like to purchase a power supply locally and am trying to figure out what kind of connections I need (molex, sata, PCIE, or bare wire).

I'd you bought single units they won't come with power connectors I don't believe. The 10 packs that have the barrel plugs included are bare wire

What is the "immature" balance exactly? Google is failing me

Would it be possible to go into detail for wiring the PCIE cable to 2.5mm Plug for the miners. I want to use an extra psu i have lying around but I am worried I might fry the Miner, also What type of power supply does the WIIDevice take. Can I do the same thing with it from the PSU as the miners or do I need something else specific.

Thanks

The hub and gridseeds are 12v

http://www.moddiy.com/pages/Power-Supply-Connectors-%26-Pinouts.html

The RED wire on the gridseed plugs (center of the barrel) is +12v which makes the white wire (outside of the barrel) ground

The wiibox/tplink controllers are 5v USB

just what I needed thanks

just out of curiosity, if my order status says "unfulfilled" does that mean it hasn't shipped yet or hasn't arrived? Just curious because the sooner order #1333 gets here and verified the sooner I can get more Smiley

Hey workship. I will be on a flight soon and will check when i land in 16 hours.

much appreciated sir

I went back through the instructions and ran into a problem.

First, I successfully have CGminer hashing in SHA-256 mode. When I then go to run CPUminer in scrypt mode with the dual flag, I get this error:

Code:
./minerd: error while loading shared libraries: libjansson.so.4: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory

I went through the CPUminer installation instructions again to be sure I hadn't missed something. All of the commands completed successfully, but I do still get the error above.

I also tried launching minderd without CGminer running.

Note that I know just enough about Linux to be highly dangerous, and I appreciate any help from the folks who know more.

Ohhhhh

Try this

Code:
sudo -s
ln -s /usr/local/lib/libjansson.* /usr/lib/

And let me know. I omitted it from the guide because it didn't appear to be needed on my system.

I had that problem on my Pi and did this to fix it

apt-get install libjansson-dev (or something like that)

Yeah, You need a couple Delta 120CFM fans to move some air away in dual mode.

FWIW, the 4U case I put 8 of them inside of has 6 120mm fans on the incoming air side and lots of air holes on the backside. Didnt matter much to these things, they got warm quick. I took the lid off of the case and they are fine now.

I'm going to find another permanent home for them outside of the case. The 3 I have sitting out in the open stay so cold that you wouldnt notice that they were running if it wasnt for the fans!

I've seen people say that they don't even need fans in scrypt mode only. Is this true in your experience?

This is true.

I used an IR probe and ran in scrypt only at 74F ambient.  The core temp stayed under 86F at 800 clock.  You could cut off the fans as long as you had some airflow for scrypt only mode.

I think with 100Watts for 10 you could cool them with under 50 cfm total.

thanks for the info. I may throw a thermocouple on there and do some monitoring/recording of my own as well. I'm sure you can do a simple fan modification to add speed adjustment also

well the 750ti uses 60w or if you do some tweeking less. think one guy was still getting around 350-375 at 45w
heat wouldnt really be an issue.

how much wattage does a 300kh one of these use. have seen too many figures floating around to know what a single one of these does.

They use ~7w, depends on the efficiency of the power supply what the draw from the wall is.  I was thinking the 750ti got around 300kh/s for 35-40w.

Heat is a HUGE issue.  It's snowing outside and I have most of the windows open.  Unless you have a large and cheap commercial space, you run into a wall where you either run out of cooling capacity or incoming power.

Exactly. I can't go past my current setup without having to spend big money on upgraded electrical service and some type of improved ventilation system for the summer. After I figure out how to run these on a Pi I'm only going with these. Hopefully cryptos don't go away anytime soon though, at least I can sell my GPU's to recoup losses...
