21  Bitcoin / Armory / Re: Armory stuck in offline mode... on: October 29, 2015, 12:13:45 AM
I'm not having a "stuck in offline mode" problem per-se.

My issue is is we had a power outage which shut down my computer and something got corrupted.

When I start Armory it stays on the "initializing bitcoin engine" mode with the "wheel" spinning.

 Forever......

I have tried each of the 3 "Factory Reset" options. The 3rd one is the only one that works.

I usually shut down Armory before turning off my computer, which is what I do when I leave town for extended periods.

When I restart my computer and then Armory. It starts that same process all over again.

I never had this problem before the outage. I'd always turn everything back on and Armory would only take about 45 minutes

to sync to the current block.

Now I have to do the extreme factory reset each time or just leave the computer always "on".

Any ideas?

I don't expect to hear anything, but I think it's pretty clear at this point that BTC-Arbs has bailed. So start sending the Malaysian police your reports of your experiences with these guys. We have zero chance of getting our money back, but I guess I pretty much always knew that.

I always knew it was a high risk deal. Which is why I didn't invest more than I could stand to lose.
I got into it late in the game and was "testing" it out when it all went to shit...    Sad
Lucky to only lose what I did.

I'm a firm believer in Karma.
These guys got away with it for now. Possibly feeling lucky.
They'll eventually do something similar to the wrong person.
At that point in time it will end up badly for them.  Grin

You are welcome. If it took you this long to realize you were being jerked around you need all the help you can get.

He was a liar, but you would have no money even if he wasn't because his plan wouldn't/couldn't work. The great thing about this forum is that everyone gets to learn from other people's mistakes. Sorry if it hurts your feelings but I'm always amazed when I read comments on year old obvious scam threads say anything but that I have to point it out so other people won't fall for the same scam again

That might be th dumbest thing i ever heard. If you want to help people not get scammed dont go to a thread specifically made for people who were scammed already. Trust me, we know we got screwed. You arent some wise elder guiding us with your knowledge of hyips, youre just some loser commenting on a thread you werent even apart of.

Yup!

Last refund I received was November 28th, 2014. I have received 4 payments of 0.02 BTC up until that point, for a total of 0.08 BTC repaid. I had 1.8+ BTC invested, so my repayment reached 4% at the end of November. Nothing in December or January. And nothing for Feb yet either.

I would not complain.  Roll Eyes
You've received more payments than others have. I've only received 2 payments, spread about 4 months apart.
If my next one is before April then I'll know the pace is picking up!  Grin

Are these refunds real?

I have been waiting for almost two months and have sent three PMs to BTC-Arbs on June 18, July 7 and Aug 8. None of those have been acknowledged or responded to. It can't be that hard to send an acknowledgment that he has received the message and I am in some sort of queue. Any suggestions on what I should do?

Be  patient and................................ wait ................................

Got a reply to my initial July 11th PM on Aug 4th. Responded with info requested on Aug 6th.

Now I'll continue to wait along with everyone else.

The fact that he's even here and making progress, small as it may be, and has not just skipped out with all our bitcoins in the first place.......

Dunno.  Lips sealed

Nobody is real sure what his methodology is for paying people back. I'm assuming he's attempting to go through the list and pay each person some, then cycle back through the list again and rinse, repeat. It's been over two weeks since I saw a payment, in fact this has been the longest time period between payments I've seen yet. It's also subject to availability of funds to pay people with and we don't really know what that looks like either.

So we wait.

If he is using Arbitrage, as he stated before, to generate new revenue then that will explain the slow going in refunds.
The price has not fluctuated that much in the past three weeks so the arbitrage is going to be small as well..............

Just my thoughts.............  Lips sealed

More payments will be sent in 5 minutes.

How about acknowledging initial PM's or emails at the very least!?

Some just want to be recognized that you have received their request. It's not like WE did anything wrong ya' know...............

Mark, I have seen your message. It is currently on page 3 of my remaining pages of PMs. You WILL receive a response and an estimated first payment date within the next 10 days.

Well?

See?

That wasn't so hard. Was it?

Thank you for the prompt reply.   Grin

Now I'll just shut up and let you get back to it. Looking forward you hearing from you later.

Cheers,

Do we really have fake claims though? I'm not sure who exactly are you talking about but it would be a pitty to have those people claim that they had big deposits wait for ages because someone said they were fake.

According to BTC-Arbs comparing the total amount, there are some fakes:

I haven't looked at the spreadsheet but I assume that it is filled with fake users and incorrect deposit amounts because the total deposited amount is less than 600 BTC.

Well I'm not sure how anyone can "fake" it.
If you kept printed records of you account sign up and your deposit transactions, which can be verified via the blockchain, like I did.....

The fakes should be easy to weed out. No?  Huh

Or is the "fakes" claim just an effort to buy time?

I dunno................. Stranger things have happened............  Roll Eyes

I sent an email today since I did not get a reply to my PM yesterday. Not surprising since it was only yesterday. But he has been online since that time.........

I sent a PM requesting a refund just now.

Had a little trouble adding to the spreadsheet. If someone would fix it for me I'd appreciate it. Total invested and due is 1.0 BTC.

Thanks!

so how long has it been since this site vanished? I was thinking of investing there but didnt have enough btc as I made my investments in mining. So glad I didnt go here. You guys should really consider cex and scrypt websites under my signature. I am new to scrypt site and not sure how good they are but cex has been around for quite long and as I read from their forums they maybe starting fiat trade also.

it has to be close to a week. I think most will be done with HYIP's we played once and lost. I wish I had my 1.6 right now i want to throw more into SYNC coin. damn these bastards.

It's funny. I posted a question on the Members "support" page three weeks ago about the possibility of a automatic payout threshold.

No answer.

Figuring a sent message mistake, I "re-sent" the question.

No answer.

Just last week I sent ,"Does anyone even read these Support tickets, or do they all just go into a big black worm hole!?"

Next day. Answer: "Yes. But there are too many of them....."

Few days after that....The whole thing went "buh bye" Roll Eyes

Shoulda withdrawn when the "Legacy" crap started.

37  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: [Solved] BE - Anker hub - windows 7 on: March 26, 2014, 01:29:48 AM
I'm having a similar issue. Windows 7. New, never run miner system. Loaded Qt, wallet, mining pool etc...
If I put one USB miner in the hub it's fine. If I load all 5 then turn it on. Device drivers sees them all, only three light up, and I get COM errors and nothing runs. I've tried swapping ports around. Nothing. It's  Anker 3.0, 9 port Hub. It should be able to handle it. No?
Should I load the one. Get it running. Then start plugging in one at a time?

Thanks in advance!

Well said.
Everyone gets into mining for different reasons and not all of them are looking for ROI but instead things like just to get BTC and to have a fun hobby.  That is why i gave him the advice I did.
I am actually loving mining even though I only have 100 gh/s.  It is fun to setup and tweak.  My Gen 1 Avlon I updated the firmware last night and got some help and boom it is now at 83 gh/s from a max of 73 gh/s, running cool and quiet.  It was fun.
I love reviewing new products as well and have published some reviews.
It's so much fun and the community is great.
I hope he gets into mining and enjoys it as much as I do.

This is the reason I'm thinking about it.

I just want to tickle my brain a bit, sort of some "self education".

Thought I'd go with a Dualminer, USB hub, fan and a netbook.
Mine Bitcoin/Litecoin at the same time. I think it'd be neat to see how it all works.

For earning BTC? I bought 2 contracts for someone else to do the work for me. I don't have the time nor funds to go heavy with this. But I really do want to learn more about it in a "hands-on" fashion.  Grin
