21  Local / Altcoins (Pilipinas) / Re: Meron pa bang matinong bounty? on: July 14, 2019, 02:43:36 PM
Gone were the days when bounty-hunters are so prosperous.
22  Local / Pamilihan / Re: BUYING 50-100btc up to 1000btc on: July 14, 2019, 02:32:55 PM
With that kind of amount in Bitcoins, I believe there must be security measures when dealing in p2p but I would doubt if there is someone who holds that much amount of BTC here in the Philippines.

I smell another HYIP program, at first kikita ka para marami pang ma engganyong sumali pag marami na silang nakuhang pera, bigla nalang ito mag lalaho na parang bula.
24  Local / Others (Pilipinas) / Re: Bitcointalk and Me on: July 09, 2019, 12:04:49 PM
Word of advice: Instead of hoarding different altcoins, focus on those which  that has solid foundation already like Ethereum, XRP, Litecoin. Solid usecase, solid team, as well as a solid community. You can't just go out there and picking different altcoins that you like and them buying them as hell and hoping and praying that it could make you a millionaire in no time. Be realistic in your goals, don't just be a passive investor. Learn and read articles that could help you gain more knowledge reading different altcoins and you will minimize wrong decisions in your altcoin investing.

27  Local / Pilipinas / Re: Share your Investment Experience in Bitcoin (Kung paano ka kumita o nalugi) on: July 06, 2019, 11:32:42 AM
Way back 2017, di ko masasabing nalugi ako pero kumita ako ng marami. During that time, airdrop coins was comin' in hot, left and right yung airdrops ng iba't-ibang klase ng coins during that year, sali doon at sali dito.

Same old story, over and over again.
32  Local / Pilipinas / [NEW]DTI and DICT signs deal with US-based firm for promotion of Blockchain tech on: June 20, 2019, 05:23:08 PM
Quick take:
• MONSOON Blockchain Storage, Inc. has partnered with two government agencies to provide support and consultancy services on how to leverage blockchain technology in various areas of operations.
• The company will conduct a needs assessment, and recommend an actionable proposal on how DTI can utilize effectively the blockchain technology on its programs and projects.
• Monsoon CEO and co-founder Donald Basile said the company decided to enter the Philippines because of the government’s willingness to adopt the technology.
• He noted integrating blockchain in major government projects such as the national ID system can lead to the technology’s integration in government projects and programs.

Source: https://www.bworldonline.com/dti-dict-tap-blockchain-firm/

Sample use cases of Blockchain technology:

Payment processing and money transfers - If you know Bitcoin and use them, then you are already using Blockchain tech.
Monitor Supply Chains - Discrepancy in your inventory/supply chains, worry no more. With the attribute of Blockchain as immutable, you don't have to worry of having someone modifying your data. Not to mention it could eliminate the use of papers, also it works realtime.
Retail Loyalty Rewards Programs - Loyalcoin has been launched already in the Philippines but what if one day a nationwide loyalty reward with Blockchain as its core technology will be announced by DICT. Isn't that exciting?
Digital ID's - There's a high probability that the government will utilize Blockchain tech for the National ID. I have a strong feeling about this one, it might not be fully utilized but there might be a certain module of the National ID System which will use Blockchain.
Digital voting - Goodbye Smartmatic ? Just recently there's a news that a new voting system will be announce by the DICT. There's no doubt that Blockchain is very useful in this scenario but there's no clear depiction yet whether we will be using Blockchain for our voting system.

Hello everyone, this thread is intended for Facebook's cryptocurrency movement A.K.A Libra Coin and it'll be self-moderated so that the topic will always be relevant to the started thread.

Facebook's Global Cryptocurrency Movement

I. Ano ang Facebook?
   a. Bilang ng gumagamit ng Facebook sa 2019
   b. Facebook Pay
   c. Incharge ng Facebook's cryptocurrency project

II. Ano ang Libra?
   a. Koneksyon ng Libra at Facebook
   b. Decentralized or Not Decentralized ?
   c. Meron bang Pre-sale or Tokensale ang Facebook
   e. Website and Whitepaper

I. Ano ang Facebook?

Let's start with the basic. Ano ang Facebook ? Facebook is Facebook ! First developed by Mark Zuckerberg at Eduardo Saverin way back in 2003 sa kanilang college dorm lamang, sinong mag-aakalang ganito ang magiging epekto nito sa buong mundo.

Fun fact: Who is dubbed as the most awesome person on Facebook? https://[Suspicious link removed]/bestpersononfb  Wink

Ia. Bilang ng gumagamit ng Facebook sa 2019

According to Zephoria, there are whooping number of 2.38 billion monthly active users worldwide. Imagine the amount of data that Facebook needs to handle. From college dorm to multimillion giant data servers. *Insert mindblown GIF*

In the Philippines, there are are 60 million-70 million active Facebook users in the Philippines per month, as of October 2018. I am pretty sure isa ka na doon at according sa latest study, the Philippines is still the world's top social media user. The report also states that Filipinos usually spend over 4 hours on social media daily. Let's do the Math:

Pagkagising - 1 hour
Office break morning - 15 minutes
CR break - 5 minutes
Lunch break - 1 hour
Office afternoon break - 15 minutes
CR break - 5 minutes
After office hours (bago uwi sa bahay) - 1 hour
Pagkatapos magluto - 30 minutes
Bago matulog - 2 hours

Based on the calculation, that is an average of 5-6 hours of Social media use daily (Facebook, Instagram, Twitter).

Basically, you can use Facebook Pay to send and receive money using Messenger free of charge. You just need to fund your account with a bank-issued debit card, but can also use a credit card or Facebook gift card to fund payments.

1. You will still need to have a bank-issued debit card to use Facebook Pay.
2. Facebook will still need to comply with each and every regulation of the country in order to facilitate Facebook Pay in each country.
3. In the world of instant, Facebook Pay money will still take up to three business days to reflect to the receiver's account.
4. Each transfer can’t be more than £2,500.

There's more reason for this one why Facebook Pay is not a feasible way of transferring money globally. But let's move on now to the next topic.

Ic. Incharge ng Facebook's cryptocurrency project

DAVID MARCUS
If you want to know more about him, just visit his Linked Profile: https://www.linkedin.com/in/dmarcus/.

II. Ano ang Libra?

Here comes the entertaining part and the most informative part. Tech news, blogs, and even social medias has been so noisy about this one lately. The big news: Facebook's Plan To Release a GlobalCoin !! Some are positive about it and some are negative about it. So what it is really all about? Let's just enumerate the key points here: For now let's start with the basic first.

• Libra is a global cryptocurrency built on the foundation of a blockchain (the Libra Blockchain). Libra is fully backed by the Libra Reserve, a collection of currencies and other assets used as collateral for every Libra that is created, building trust in its intrinsic value.
• Libra's mission is to create a simple global financial infrastructure that empowers billions of people around the world.
• Libra crytocurrency is a stablecoin.
• Initial members of the foundation are Facebook and 27 other partners, including Visa, MasterCard, PayPal, Coinbase, and venture capital firms like Andreesen Horowitz and Union Square Ventures.

IIa. Koneksyon ng Libra at Facebook

Facebook is just a mere initiator of this cryptocurrency movement. See this image to give you an idea what it means: https://techcrunch.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/06/Libra-Association-Founding-Partners.png

Together with 27 organizations around the world they have started the non-profit Libra Association and create a new currency called Libra. So basically, this is not a solo movement by Facebook but by the 27 founding the organization that embodies Libra Association right now.

Is this a good news ? Maybe, why ? because Facebook will not have a single control for this cryptocurrency.

IIb. Decentralized or Not Decentralized ?

Ngunit ayon kay Mark Zuckerberg, ito ay Decentralized dahil "it runs by many different organizations instead of just one, making the system fairer overall." He is talking about Libra Association. Let me know what's your take regarding this one ? Do you believe that Libra will still be decentralized ?

IIb. Meron bang Pre-sale or Tokensale ang Facebook?

No news yet but I'll make sure to update the thread once they have news regarding how they are going to distribute the coin. *cough airdrops*

IIc. Website and Whitepaper

Website: https://libra.org
Whitepaper: https://libra.org/en-US/white-paper/

Bonus info: Libra symbol will be ≋

Points for discussion:
1. Are you negative or positive about this coin ?
2. Will it affect the Bitcoin price ?
3. Do you think it is still decentralized ?

Moreover, this thread will be open for any discussion as long as it is inline with Libracoin.

36  Local / Pamilihan / Re: Journey with Philstocks using Bitcoin on: June 17, 2019, 12:15:38 PM
Nice move by Philstocks integrating Coins.ph on their platform but the sad part is that their registration is taking longer than expected. Maybe they are trying to validate each member thoroughly before they could use the Philstocks platform.
37  Local / Pamilihan / Re: Kapa-Community Ministry Investment scam on: June 17, 2019, 11:55:40 AM
They must have converted some of the collected money into cryptocurrency.
In order for the government to freeze their crypto account, it should be stored in an regulated exchange, probably they have some bitcoins in coins.ph.

Yes, possible coins.ph is one of the exchanger having used by the Kapa Ministry which are being freeze by Philippine government. With this massive investment scam i think there have a lot of account coins which was not caught and it holds by other members in kapa used to left and right earnings.

There has been rumor that they are doing Bitcoin trading in order to income, so yeah ! There is a greater possibility that they have funds in their bitcoin wallets or exchanges. How about we dig deeper to it ? Find that wallet address and maybe we'll find something interesting, just my two cents. Cheesy
38  Local / Pamilihan / Re: Kapa-Community Ministry Investment scam on: June 10, 2019, 09:41:59 AM
What their founder did was a very smart move registering their organization as a religious group.

Going back to our 1987 Constitution:

Quote
The 1987 Constitution of the Philippines declares: The separation of Church and State shall be inviolable. (Article II, Section 6), and, No law shall be made respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof. The free exercise and enjoyment of religious profession and worship, without discrimination or preference, shall forever be allowed. No religious test shall be required for the exercise of civil or political rights. (Article III, Section 5)

They are clinging to the idea that they are a religious group and the government/state should not interfere with them because it is in the law. Wise, right ? This is what their founder is saying as well as what they are trying to defend on the court. I don't know how will this be handled by the government but one way or another they should take this matter seriously.

Just from their name itself: KAPA COMMUNITY MINISTRY INTERNATIONAL, INC. they are declaring that they are a religious group and just like what other people said here, they are calling their investment to the group as "Donation" and their Payout as a "blessing". True, they are registered on SEC but not to provide securities to people.
39  Local / Pilipinas / Re: Philippine's 5 million users on: June 10, 2019, 09:27:41 AM
Yes, we have 5 millions users of Coins.ph already but ang bottomline nito is do they really understand what cryptocurrency is and it's underlying technology and how . Mostly kasi, hindi ko naman linalahat ginagamit lang nila ang Coins.ph platform sa pagsali sa mga investment schemes that uses Coins.ph for pay-in and pay-out. I think proper education should be implemented if we wanted to have a better foundation of Filipino people who engage in using cryptocurrencies. I know a lot of people who still is scared to own a Bitcoin because they taught it denotes as "scam" when in the first place it is not. Just my two cents on the current state of the cryptocurrency education here in the Philippines.
40  Local / Pamilihan / Re: Which is better communication for projects DISCORD or TELEGRAM on: June 10, 2019, 09:21:35 AM
