Arrow has launched! We're excited to announce that the mainnet is now live. Massive thanks to all the early community members for their support. Now we're live, the focus of development turns towards the aims of Arrow outlined in the whitepaper.

Update: Arrow will launch using the mining algorithm Equihash Heavy (192,7).

The new algorithm will enable a fair launch by not allowing ASIC and FGPA miners an unfair advantage over GPUs. Original Post + Graphics updated to reflect this change.

What is Arrow?

Put simply, Arrow is truly private digital cash.

Technical information: (More detail in Whitepaper)

• Arrow uses a proof-of-work (PoW) mining algorithm (Equihash Heavy (192,7) algorithm).
• The total supply of $ARW is 210,000,000, 10 times the supply of Bitcoin and of Zcash.
• Block Time - 45 seconds, 3.33 times faster than Zcash (Zcash’s block times are approximately 2.5 minutes each)
• Arrow’s block reward (years 0-8):

• A higher block reward with corresponding step-down for the first two years following the genesis block incentivizes miners and works to further decentralize the Arrow network.
• The mainnet launch is fair and transparent. No premine, ICO, or airdrop was done. Arrow is a block one public fork.
• 4.8% of block reward to founders’ reward (compared to Zcash’s initial 20%), which is reduced, forever, to 0 after 8 years.
• Halving occurs four years from block one.
