22  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Opening a UK Based Bitcoin Exchange on: May 06, 2014, 06:50:29 PM
Hey guys,

I would like to know what sort of demand there is for a UK based exchange? I am very interested in opening one as i am pretty sure i have the facilities (banking wise) to do so.

I have a rough idea of what sort of trading tools and instruments investors and traders desire, however if you could also list what you'd like to see in an exchange that may be lacking or could be improved in the current exchanges that are out there. Many thanks Smiley

Isnt bitstamp available in the UK? I guess it could be a good benchmark for you

Yes, but you'll pay a c. 7% premium for 1btc thanks to the banks' fees for sepa transfer and awful exchange rate.

Have you tried indacoin.com? They allow to deposit money from the credit cards, issued in the UK (4% fee)?
23  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: KYC with Bitstamp! on: May 06, 2014, 05:38:11 PM
Eventually when business reaches Bitstamp's scale, they have to deal with KYC policy. And those silly questions hadn't been created by Bitstamp, but by their processing bank or audit company. The question is if its time to switch to the other exchanges that are not as big as Bitstamp but could provide better service?

That new decentralized internet company Maid Share looks to be super promising...don't know if that qualifies under a Blockchain company...

Could you give a lil bit more details on what is their business about?
25  Economy / Economics / Re: The most promising Blockchain companies on: April 29, 2014, 07:40:09 AM
...

I am interested in this topic as well.

Earlier this evening, I saw that bitmixer.io will let investors share in BTC mixing profits for a minimum investment of 100 BTC (approx. $44,000).

That is MIXING coins, not mining them.  I have not looked into this.

So what is the main motivation for people to use this service? Do you think they got good volumes?
26  Economy / Economics / The most promising Blockchain companies on: April 29, 2014, 04:08:34 AM
Hey guys, what about discussing the most promising businesses that use the Block chain technology. I would start with those companies that have already raised some financing from venture capitalists - so it at least somebody is sure in their potential. It would be real interesting to speak not only about bitcoin/litecoin projects, but about Block Chain potential in General. So here is the list of first ones:

Coinbase, $31.7, one of the biggest bitcoin wallets
Xapo, $20.0M, bitcoin wallet, that could be connected with a credit card
Bitstamp, $10.0M, bitcoin exchange
OKCoin, $10M, bitcoin exchange
Kraken, $5.0M - bitcoin exchange
Coinsetter, $1.27M, bitcoin exchange
21E6, $5.05M, bitcoin minining
Avalon Clones, $3.0M, bitcoin minining
CoinTerra, $1.3M, bitcoin mining
BitPay, $2.51М, Bitcoin payment processor
GoCoin.com, $2.05M, Bitcoin payment processor
Vaurum, $2.0M, Bitcoin exchange platform for banks, brokers etc
BitcoinShop.us, $1.88M, online retailer

Your ideas:
Circle is another one huge project in terms of funds allocation with $26.0M investments. Developing digital currencies payment platform
Updown, binary options service. Fundraised $1,75M
Bitmixer.io lets investors share in BTC mixing profits for a minimum investment of 100 BTC

31  Economy / Economics / Re: If Russia attacks Ukraine - Bitcoin? on: March 07, 2014, 03:33:53 PM
I dont think there is any relationship between Ukraine-Russia and Bitcoin.

There is huge correlation because people in Russia/Ukraine in fact don't have any reserve currency.
Even dollars are printed almost without control. So bitcoin could become a good alternative
