21  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Is GPU mining coming to an end? on: February 06, 2021, 08:43:07 PM
Also I don't trust that Ethereum going POS algorithm 100% because it's not the first time that vitalik wants to switch to POS algo, it's been around since years back and nothing happened, I would say you should keep mining because no one can tell what's coming, If Ethereum really goes to POS algorithm we have Conflux which is another profitable coin to mine, also ravencoin is available
22  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Is GPU mining coming to an end? on: February 06, 2021, 08:36:44 PM
I just recently built a couple rigs, which I'm running Nicehash on. They're humming along.

But a coworker who's been mining Ethereum for a couple years said that mining is on its last legs. Where is this sentiment coming from? Is there a general feeling that proof-of-stake is the future for coins? I just wanted to put some feelers out there and see what y'all are seeing and hearing.
Do you know how many coins are minable with GPU? They are many in number, the reason why your coworker said what he or she said must be because of Ethereum mining, it's the most profitable coin to mine and it's said that POS algorithm is coming for Ethereum
23  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: 99% of CryptoCurrency Investors fail because they havent understood Crypto on: February 06, 2021, 08:33:43 PM
Crypto is like a gamble you can not always get it right no matter how smart or good you are, crypto can be fully understood but it's movement is so unpredictable, that's where crypto is very hard to predict, don't blame those that failed in crypto space cos what falled them down can make anyone to fall as well
24  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Another crypto ban is here on: February 05, 2021, 04:54:29 PM
Here we go again, another crypto ban is imminent, this time in Nigeria, what are the government thinking? This is a country that's suffering from economy collapse since many years now and youths are jobless, finally crypto came to the rescue and all government can do is ban?

25  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: Last merit earned in 120 days really get bounty hunters on: February 05, 2021, 04:50:53 PM
Number of merit earned in the last 120 days seem to be working, I was present when SOVRYN bounty campaign was updating and I was shocked that only limited people joined such promising bounty campaign until I noticed that the BM asked for limit of 5 merits earned in last 120 days, 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 very funny, no wonder many slots are still available
I think the 5 merits request have been removed, I saw it there too but not it's not on the bounty thread anymore, maybe the bounty manager have a change of heart after noticing that very limited bounty hunters joined the campaign
26  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Ethereum - new day, new hight! on: February 05, 2021, 04:47:37 PM
We are definitely on the road to 2000$ per Ethereum but the problem is still present, so make transactions on Ethereum right now costs around 20$ and the higher Ethereum goes the higher the gas fee goes
27  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: MSI 580 8gb Micron memory hashrate issue on: February 04, 2021, 03:23:09 PM
If you can take your time with overclocking and downclocking you will eventually get the best settings for RX580, here is what I'm using presently that's giving me 30mh per second with 90 watts, my RX 580 Is also micron memory

Core clock 1070
Memory clock 2136
Fan speed 70
Core voltage -162

The trick is reducing the core voltage to limit energy consumption, use msi afterburner and unlock the core voltage in settings
Is this the maximum electricity draw for RX580? I've read online about some getting 80watts at 30mhs, maybe it's because your graphic card is Micron based memory? With 90 watts power draw if prefer to adjust the clock more, 32mhs looks good
28  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Old gen core series works for mining? on: February 04, 2021, 03:20:19 PM
Does it make any sense to use a old core i3 motherboard to mine cryptocurrency with up to 6x graphic cards? Is there anyone here using first gen or second gen core iseries to mine crypto? I found them very cheap here than 6th, 7th gen motherboards
That makes a lot of sense, because I myself am currently still using an old core i3 motherboard (4th gen) with a mix of 8GB DDR3L ram and also using an SSD with a capacity of 1TB which allows me to do anything in crypto including mining some very good tokens.
There is a huge difference between a i3 4th gen and a i3 2nd gen, anyways I have a mining rig with 5 GPUs running on a old Xeon dell desktop and the whole thing is working pretty fine, power draw is limited since I don't use the CPU for mining, only the graphic cards draws needed watts
29  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Motherboard won't boot with two GPUs installed on: February 04, 2021, 03:16:05 PM

Buy such a raiser and a 600 watt power supply.
I did not find in the specifications which power supply you are using now, but a power supply less than 400 watts will not be enough for your farm.
As a rule, BIOS setup is not needed.
I'm using 750 watt power supply and I believe this should be enough for up to 4 different gtx 1660 super or even 5 because each gtx1660 super are using only 82 watts per card and they are same brand with Micron memory

First pic down the page shows it.

https://www.dell.com/community/Desktops-General-Read-Only/35W-Limit-on-PCIe-x16-slot-Optiplex-790-SFF/td-p/4709629

It is screen printed right on the PCB.  Usually white print.
Dell optiplex 390 is different from 790 Small form factors, I guess graphic cards with no 6pin plugs works well in SFF Desktop PC, but it's better to use powered risers like many suggested too, pcie x16 watt is limited but OP said only two GPUs have problem running on the motherboard, I'm guessing the other ports aren't pcie x16
Dell optiplex is optiplex don't you think? the guy has a point there, those old desktops can't handle two GPUs in a single motherboard on their own, OP have to order for powered risers and the system wi be able to boot, maybe in future we will see new PC that can draw more watts from the pcie slots who knows?
30  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: 99% money in Crypto is dumb money. They buy expensive shitcoins on: February 03, 2021, 09:32:54 AM
It's all about learning lessons, those who are new to crypto will surely take some wrong step before they get things right, it happened to me in the past, I used over two years buying crap coins and 99% of these coins are dead, still I don't give up and today I finally know the difference, if you don't give up you will eventually get more knowledge
31  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Best & worst time to trade Ethereum? on: February 03, 2021, 09:29:21 AM
Trading is all about strategies, people still trade and make profits out of bear markets and bull market, if you are a pro trader you won't worry about a certain time to make profits from trading, for a pro every time is a good time
32  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Ethereum now on the 55th spot of top asset by Market Cap on: February 03, 2021, 09:27:51 AM
Ethereum can go even higher than top 55 CMC.
There are some points

1. The hardcap supply is not yet determined
2. EIP 1599 that will be implemented soon
3. Ethereum POS and it will remove the inflation caused by the block reward that's always be dumped by miners. (no more inflation)

Ethereum is heading toward the massive adoption. Glad to see that it's not on top 55 marketcap
I thought some mining pools are against the EIP 1599 idea and it was later abandoned, so we are still going to see full implementation ? This will affect miners reward drastically but makes gas fee more affordable
33  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: Bounty hunters are getting axed harder on: February 02, 2021, 04:01:18 PM
Escrow and limited participants are a necessity in bounty hunting this days, the lower the participants the better your reward and also only bounty detective use escrow, majority of new bounties still don't use escrow, we got to keep having some faith that they will get paid, there is no solution around this, that's just the way things are
34  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Only God knows for how long mining will remain profitable on: February 02, 2021, 03:58:05 PM
I don't worry myself about how long the Profitable of Ethereum mining will last, some said POS algo is coming but still I still move ahead and buy some graphic cards anyways, crypto is like seasonal base system, there will be bears and bull season, having the patience for that time to occur again is what many can't do, keep mining Ethereum and hold and if Ethereum pow vanish someday we got other altcoins we can still mine
35  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Experience as a first time miner on: February 02, 2021, 03:55:36 PM
Mining is not for everyone, but not everyone understands this, so they get more problems than profits.
Some common mistakes:
Buying graphics cards with poor cooling
Buying cheap power supplies
Buying used video cards without checking
Errors when building and configuring a farm
Errors in the design of electrical and cooling systems
GPUs with poor cooling are cheaper and can't be judge with number of fans either, I have a gtx1660 ti here that comes with a single fan and it mine eth at 31mhs with 80 watts power consumption at 56°C Temp, some graphic cards don't have thermal pads install on their memory chips, this is a huge advantage but many don't know, I credit Zotac and Msi for this, they always use thermal pads on their gpu chips

37  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Is it a scam? on: December 06, 2020, 08:42:47 AM
The app I used was ingotsex.vip . The commission are 0.00300000 for all cryptocurrency. I had about 18k usd before the trade and after the trade was done I was left with 6k usd . Thankfully I already made profit before this occurred. I just wonder if there is anything reason for this or its just a scam. I was told it had something to do with volume but I wasn't sure.

Never heard of such exchange before, as a newbie you should have learn to do research first, why must you use this type of exchange? The link to the website is not even safe, it's a unsecured HTTP link, the LTC on the website shows 82$ per LTC though, newbies should stop using unpopular exchanges
38  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Is it a scam? on: December 06, 2020, 08:39:25 AM
Honestly if you fall for such trick it's your fault, you are deceiving yourself on the inside and still trying to think and act as if you are smart, the exchange is a scam you don't need to tell us the name, I'm guessing you are trying to buy at 45$ thinking it's way cheaper but instead you get 70$ rate, if I'm wrong you would have tell us the name of such app
39  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Altcoins I have in my wallets on: December 05, 2020, 08:33:04 AM
I currently mining or have mined these altcoins, I would to know which coin the board thinks has a ggod chance of higher advancement in the future long or short term. The coin are : Bitbar, digibyte, zero, komodo, zel, vidulum, einsteinium, Lbry credit, bitcoin gold, verge, beenode, ycash, gleec, bitcoin sv, litecoin, zcsh, verus, bitcoinz, zclassic, and safecoin
I'm going to exclude bitbar, vidulum, beenode and safecoin because I can't find any continues development on this projects, are you sure they are still alive? I'm guessing they failed to catch good attention, I won't expect much from such projects, the rest are better and make sure you have a target to let go, if you still want to hold you can buy back when bears attack the market
40  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What have you done/are you doing with your ICO coins? on: December 05, 2020, 08:27:08 AM
I still recognized wanchain, ICON, Nash exchanges, if you are still holding then this might be a good time to sell them for good money, I'm talking about this altcoin season though, I believe that very soon all altcoins will surge higher, though I don't know if all these altcoins are still active or not but if development is still ongoing then it's a good thing
