21  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Any bounty campaigns for Newbies? on: November 07, 2019, 08:15:25 PM
Hello guys,

I was searching for some bounty campaigns that accept newbies like myself. Do you know of any that recently started ( in the last 7 days for example ). It's a mess in the Bounty thread..

Thanks so much for this question.  I would have loved to ask the same question
22  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Good projects/hard to reach softcap on: November 07, 2019, 08:14:06 PM
Few good projects i have seen are having hard time to gather funds, they are still far behind to reaching their target softcap
1. Bitwings
2. EZ365

What do you have in mind about these two project? they are good enough to give a try for me, what do you say?

I think the project is good, considering the beautiful feedback from those who have participated
23  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Power belongs to the investors, they are not to be toyed with on: November 07, 2019, 05:28:27 AM
Investors needs to have interest in other for a project to survive, once investors lose interest its the end, this is why i think developers need to be serious from now onward, there will come a time that new projects won't see investors investing on their projects and its because we have had enough of crappy projects, if there is no more good ideas developers need to stop building projects

No project can do well without investors. So developers should ensure their projects are very alright before it is launched to avoid disappointing investors.  Because if investors choose not to participate,  there is no way that project can do well. So developers need to work hard on making sure their projects does not fail so investors will not be discouraged
24  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: there are still many who invest in cryptocurrency? on: November 07, 2019, 05:20:36 AM
as we know that in 2017 many ICO were successful (at least reached softcap) and of course the market cap was also very high at the time, so it proves that many people are interested to investing in cryptocurrency, but now where do these investors go? because now the market cap is down and many ICO or IEO are failing (not reaching softcap), are investors no longer interested to investing in cryptocurrency? if yes, where are they investing now? or is there a more profitable investment than investing in cryptocurrency for now?

Investors are very much interested in investing.  We know from the word go, that one can occassionally experience losses,  but at the same time, ther will be good times when profits will be made. So, I dont think investors have stopped because they have made losses. What I think is that many of them are taking their time in invest in already established projects instead of new ones
25  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: US Airforce is using blockchain on: November 07, 2019, 05:12:55 AM
The secure nature of data transfer through blockchain makes blockchain a prime factor for the next generation security and anonymity and the US airforce doesn't want to lag behind any other forces. They seemed to have made contracts with two popular blockchain firms to develop a blockchain primarily for communication among units and stations.

This is a welcomed development.  I believe several other institutions will adopt it in the future when they are able to really understand the beauty that lies in using this technology
26  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Any bounty campaigns for Newbies? on: November 07, 2019, 04:54:17 AM
There are many bounty campaigns for new the best place to get a good one is using icodrop and go to bounty you will see a list of bounty's from there you can go through each one and know which one accepts newbie.

So far since I've been checking, I have not seen any project available for newbies. I'm referring to bounty campaigns. Do you think I'm not checking properly or there is nothing a newbie can do till his rank rises?
27  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: How NOT To Get Scammed on: November 07, 2019, 04:43:30 AM
I believe that every good lesson starts with a good story and on this note, I want to tell you about the experience I had that made me cautious of "Get rich quick" schemes online especially those pertaining to Cryptocurrencies.

I discovered Bitcoin in early 2013 and although I didn't take it seriously at first, I was earning little money from it doing tasks online (pay for view, faucets and such), I took it more as a hobby and never intended on selling the bitcoin, I just knew in my heart that it would do great so I wanted to accumulate as much as possible without having to spend my money buying it (this was before I got into mining), fast forward to 2015 when the money doubling schemes were everywhere, I kept seeing adverts online and even though I knew better, I decided to invest in one of them (Avabitcoin) with the coins I got from my early days of discovering bitcoin, Avabitcoin was a platform where you invest bitcoin and they supposedly invest it and return profits to you on a daily basis, I decided to take the risk and invested for the first day, got back my money plus 12% profit, and greed overtook me and I did kept doing it for 2 more weeks before they vanished with my funds. I kept going all in even when I had already doubled my money.

If you want to avoid getting scammed online, you just have to follow the following:

Greed: Greed has led a lot of people straight to rekt, like my story above would have told you, I couldn't resist the pull of greed even when I had doubled my funds.

HYIPs: When it looks too good to be true, then it's probably too good to be true, when you see any investments that promise high yield returns, please stay far away from them, when you see genuine projects that offers returns, most of their returns are so low, some of them are average of 10% per annum and it's a wonder that we see platforms offering 10% and above in a day and we gladly jump straight into rekt, like I said, if it sounds too good to be true, then it's too good to be true.

FOMO: If not for the hype that Avabitcoin generated, I would not have invested in it in 2015, learn how to DYOR and avoid what others have to say about projects they seem to support, infact your mindset should be that everybody is trying to rip you off so if you always look at every hyped project with that mindset, you would have a clearer picture of the project without the blindfold of FOMO.

Rushing: Avoid rushing into any investment because you heard it's paying others, one of the virtues of a Cryptocurrency investor is patience, Cryptocurrency investments are high risk investments and you have to treat it like gambling, never invest more than you can afford to lose, never go all in on any project no matter how good it looks.

EDIT:
Click on random websites: Many airdrop websites you see these days asking for personal details are fake and many of them are just clever ways to steal your private details and use it to steal your funds, be careful of the links you click and if possible, bookmark your sensitive websites (the ones that need private information like private keys and passwords) so that you wouldn't fall for a clone website.

Use new wallets: We can all remember the recent incident that happened with satowallet where the wallet stopped working and users lost a sizable amount of funds, we should stick to the existing and trusted wallets instead of just jumping into any random wallets swe see online, many of them don't have your best interest at heart.

Repeat Passwords:  I was just surfing through the forum a few minutes ago and saw a post where a guy managed to hack an ICO website and contacted the admins and the admins just don't care, never repeat passwords in two websites so that if a hacker manages to get their hands on one of your passwords, they would not be able to affect your funds in other platforms.

Quote
Please try to include telegram scams on your list, they are trending big now and almost all newbies from india have fall victim to this scam tricks, scammers steal project teams image and use a near identity name too, for example a legit project team member can  go by @fisher as the username and scammers will change the name to @flsher with same profile image to give you good offer, if you don't check very well you will think its legit.

If you have any similar experience, please kindly share it, it might help others (especially the newbies to avoid being scammed by shady projects out there and if I see good suggestions, I would edit this post and add them as well.

This is very true. Thanks so much for the write up,  it is very comprehensive. It's not good that we learn the hard way, after losing so much money. Simple precautions can save us alot of stress and headache
28  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Why my day job is making me depressed on: November 05, 2019, 10:22:52 PM
I have a full-time day job which makes me so depressed every day.  I just cannot handle 1 more day in my job.  The way that my day job makes me feel has forced me to look for alternative investment streams.  I really love investing in crypto.  I am an introverted person working in a highly extroverted roll, each day I am at work I am dying under the weight of extroverted people.  The noise and chaos that extroverted people spew out into the world makes introverted people highly stressed.

Trading cryptocurrency is a highly introverted job and that is what I love about it, you can do it from home, without the noise of extroverted people filling your mind with their toxic rubbish.

I am holding a significant amount of the altcoin called - HST decision token.  They are about to announce a significant client partnership on Monday 06.17.19

If HST goes to the moon and explodes in value, then I am resigning from my day job.

I pray that on Monday 17.06.19 that I can tell my boss where to shove her job.

This is my escape plan from my depressing day job buy purchasing HST tokens here: https://horizonstate.com/hst/

I will advice you choose another line of work, so your mind can be settled on the job you do. There's no point working in a place that directly negates your personality. You will never feel fulfilled with the job
29  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: !!! SO MANY PROJECTS !!! What 's going on ? on: November 05, 2019, 09:41:41 PM
New projects make good news of good things to happen
Are they all right ?
Or are they all just chanting slogans ?

REALLY!!!  What 's going on ?
If you know a good project ,NAME IT !!!

It is good that good projects are coming up every now and then. It's a sign of progress. However, before any project starts, all necessary things must be put in place so traders/investors dont get discouraged when they eventually find out all their energy,  resources and time was not worth it. It only brings discouragement
30  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Getting scammed on: November 03, 2019, 01:01:43 PM
I got scammed by this project called temtum. Signed up for their bounty months ago, posting for their campaign, filling up 2 kyc forms and pushing for its deadline, and now they are telling me i didnt pass it. It is not only me who encountered this. Hello Richard Dennis.

Maybe there was something you did wrongly. It could be a problem with filling out the forms or your posts were not enough. I can assure you that Temtum is not a scam project at all. Sincerely,  it's a very good one.
31  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Why lots of people got scam easily on: November 03, 2019, 12:32:28 PM
Things why a person can easily get scammed in crypto-world

1. Greed
2. No knowledge about the project
3. Trust

This are the three main reason why they get easily scam
Greed, because there are a lot of promise by the campaign and the developer we easily believe that its true
investing a lot of money in the project that is garbage.
No knowledge also is the second reason because of the trend they just go and invest without any knowledge of the said project
Trust because they trust the people in the project which sometimes pretends that the person is a member of the project
they can easily decieved that once they invest , they will soon find out that the person is just impersonating , and not really
what all expected.

I just believe that asking alot of questions about a project will do alot of good instead of just venturing into it without direction. Most times, I read the comments of people about a project, but beyond all the comments, I search for what a senior member or a legendary has said about it and whatever it is they have said means alot to me and I just learn from their wealth of experience instead of making unnecessary mistakes
32  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: People are to be blame for what happened to them on the internet on: October 31, 2019, 11:35:27 AM
When it comes to money people like trying out things the way they see fit, try first learn later is the rules of newbies and thats why they always get scammed easily, HYIP, Pyramid Scheme, as dangerous and alarming these two are people still join them till date, both crypto and internet is not the evil here, people are to be blame for what happened to them

I totally agree with you. It's not safe to join any project or invest in it without gathering sufficient knowledge about it. And if some people already affirmed that a project is a scam, people should just not go head on into it and invest in it again. What's the point of investing when on the long run, the money will be lost. People should make research very well before joining any project or investing in it
33  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Will crypto really go to zero? on: October 22, 2019, 08:16:58 PM
Cryptocurrency will never go to zero. Never. It's like thinking that one day, the internet will die. No, it cant go to zero. Regardless of the predictions,  cryptocurrency is still going forward daily!
34  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Scam Projects and Bounty . Way forward?? on: October 22, 2019, 08:10:36 PM
So far this year , a lot of scams have occurred in the crypto sphere ranging from projects scamming investors and as well as projects not paying hunters for their works.

What do you think can be done to counter this ill manner behaviors that has been painting cryptocurency bad?

It would have really been awesome if there is a perfect way to identify scam projects. But for now, there is no way possible to know which project will pay or not or which investment will really worth it. But this should not be a reason for investors to be discouraged. Even in life, we are faced with several challenges, yet we move on. Cryptocurrency shouldnt be an exception. So, I will advice investors to invest wisely and not be discouraged by a past challenge of falling into the hands of scammers. Regardless of how many scam projects out there, there are still very good projects that worth the time, resource and energy anyone can put into it.
35  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Scam Projects and Bounty . Way forward?? on: October 22, 2019, 07:17:27 AM
I dont think there is any perfect measure that can be instituted to avoid getting involved in scam projects. The best thing I can think of right now is to advice investors not to put all their eggs in a basket. Invest in bits in different projects so, if it doesnt turn out fine in one, the other ones can buffer the loss.

And dont ever be greedy. You may have regrets as a result
36  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: What makes you still join the bounty campaigns? on: October 14, 2019, 04:31:29 AM
An open question to all bounty hunters. What makes you still join the bounty campaigns?

I was the regular bounty hunter in 2017 and early half of the 2018 but once 80% of my joined bounties started to turn scam without paying a penny, I dropped the idea. By looking the current situation, I can conclude that the situation has now worsen and the success rate of bounties is now dropped to further low. So my question is why you still join bounties? Are you getting paid? If yes, then which one gave you best rewards this year? Who is the best manager/s currently in bounty domain?

No one knows which prohect will actually pay at the end of a bounty campaign. I guess people still engage in it because they are optimistic it will turn out fine for them, even if they have faced dissappointment  with other projects earlier
37  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Right or wrong path? on: October 04, 2019, 01:35:44 PM
Am I on the right path? I'm here to invest in crypto but since I don't have money to invest I want to start hunting for bounties and airdrops and from there I can use the money to buy better popular coins and tokens ,any chance that these can be achievable ?

It's a good idea. It will be nice if you can raise money by yourself in some other ways too, so that the amount of money you will have in total for your investment can be worthwhile
