21  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: End Goal or Keep HODLing? on: March 24, 2024, 07:43:18 PM
Always do what you have had in mind, never ask what you should do from complete strangers here in Crypto-currency rather you see reasons or advice on the potentials possibility or risk in making any moves and then you check which is best for you, right now Bitcoin has not gotten complete take over compared to Fiat so you would still need Fiat and from the looks of things you are an investor and you need that profit for yourself.

Many people who has made up their mind to hold Bitcoin for life either has alot or has other sources of income, like myself I see Bitcoin as something I would use freely in the future but I am not foolish not to have other sources of income to help me carry on holding Bitcoin.
22  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin is the Best Option: Because of Dollar Rate Cost of Living is on the Peak on: March 24, 2024, 07:30:31 PM
What do you say on this matter?
Banknote and Digital Currency {Bitcoin} are all meant to buy things both in physical shops and online vendors. And countries are trying to adapt to the adoption of the digital currency upon all the restrictions many had laid on it but seen the benefits of it, some lift up the ban.

And many people were excited because bitcoin is decentralized and out of government control and bitcoin is volatile and it is store of value. So people became conscious and like bitcoin the more. If bitcoin transaction is low and retail businesses accept bitcoin as a method of payment. Dollar does devalue bitcoin so the price of things will not be influenced by dollar anymore. But the international market might still affect the price of things because there they would still used dollar for exchange unless the vendors are accepting bitcoin at that level as well. In my own understanding if bitcoin is adopted as a legal tender in my country the cost of living will reduce. The cost of in my country is on the peak that those who are receiving $80 as salary is nothing but a peanut which can't buy anything reasonable in the market again. Dollar is just playing with the Banknote in my country. And the best way is for the retail businesses to accept bitcoin if the transaction fee is low so that things will be okay for the poor. I am very happy that within this almost one year period I was not in the forum, I have invested some reasonable amount of bitcoin.
Welcome Back to the forum.

DiMarxist.
I don't know you country but I think you are getting something wrong, from what you are saying you aren't in the US I guess, and the original owners of the US dollars is the United States of America but the globe has seen the US as the universal value of finance, we practical calculate finances in the US dollars.

So if anything those who earn in your local currency should fill it the most than those who earns in the US dollars. Because your currency is deprecating to the US dollars making those who earn in dollars have more when they concert to your Local currency but the sad truth is that the price of things would also increase in your country.

Bitcoin may not be able to solve this completely because the economy of your country needs to also improve and your leaders has their part to play .
23  Local / Off-topic (Naija) / Re: Character reformation and attitudinal change? Your Opinion please! on: March 24, 2024, 06:34:45 PM
Question 1. Character reformation and attitude change is a personal goal if you ask me people their are many people with bad characters who knows how to cover it up on the public or in private, so if you can be honest with yourself and assess your attitude and it needs some reformation then you can work on it. So to me it means changing your negative character into something positive.

Question 2. This is also personal so we have different life's and change to one person may not be same with the other, but so long as you are doing something positive then you are on the right path.

Question 3. Character reformation would impact Nigeria in a great way and it would lead to a better country in the long run.
24  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Can we still truly achieve anonymous gambling in crypto? on: March 24, 2024, 03:59:25 PM
Yes we still have gambling sites that supports anonymity. But it depends on what you define as anonymity. I won't go for a gambling site that would require me to have my passport, drivers licence, or any personal identity card before I can be registered, that would be too much information for just KYC.

But I don't mind if you require my email or phone number that to me is not bad provided that the site would protect any information of mine that I would provide to them. I believe we should be careful how we give out some sensitive information of ours to gambling sites, amongst the reasons I choose gambling sites that supports crypto-currency was to reduce my information being out their as much as possible.
25  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How safe is saving screenshots of useful information and BTC transactions? on: March 24, 2024, 01:17:08 PM
Quote
I have a friend who likes taking screenshot so much that he would take a screenshot of even payment transactions from banking apps and large or small bet winnings. I don't know if he loved to brag with it, but he won lots of arguments with real traders and sellers who accept transfers and claim to have not received it.
That is completely and unnecessary decision, why would you save screenshot of transactions you sent to traders or seller just to win an agreement when every bank application has a transaction history, you can either send the transaction to them but saving the screenshot on your phone is totally unnecessary.

Quote
He may have provided the information or data needed by the wrong hands or It can be assumed that he has so much and who knows what ills can come from thoughts like that.
If he takes the screenshot of his Bitcoin transactions alone there are no information there that would lead to him losing his wallet, his seed phase or even password aren't available there, but the problem is that he can be targeted by criminals who can see how much is transactions are worth. Infact saving screenshot of financial transactions can leave you vulnerable to criminals who can weigh how much is running in your financial safe.
26  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling can bring positivity and light into people's lives on: March 23, 2024, 08:25:07 PM
I am not going to say gambling has brought positivity or negativity into my life for example, but there are times I win and get joy and times that I lose and it feels like pin on my skin. That's what gambling is all about you win some and you lose some.

Let's not demonize gambling but still let's not overly hype it. Is best to let people know that it is a game of chance, either you win or you lose. Gambling can be fun if you do it in a responsible manner. I have been gambling for years now and I have not had any reason to regret.
27  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: If Bitcoin could speak ... on: March 23, 2024, 06:10:15 PM
One thing I am sure Bitcoin would want to share if it could speak would be anonymity. Bitcoin has been helping lots of people perform decentralised functions where they would be freedom for all.

This is also what those against Bitcoin has been trying to fight and that Includes the government. Bitcoin would also want to speak on how easy and seamless a transaction can be compared to what we have from the traditional method, how someone from the comfort of their place can send fund without requiring the permission of anyone.
28  Economy / Speculation / Re: BTC 2030 Assumptions on: March 23, 2024, 04:14:26 PM
By 2010 someone would have asked about the future of Bitcoin come 2020 and probably another person would have giving their educated opinion and those by then would have found the opinion foolish or impossible but trust me Bitcoin did a whole lot from 2010 to 2020.

Right now I think Bitcoin now to Bitcoin in 2030 would see considerable amount of changes I think very positive changes and stating the price Bitcoin can achieve then would sound ridiculous now so I would choose not to give any figure.
29  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: How can I invest to BTC? on: March 22, 2024, 07:41:25 PM
Small investor? That's not bad you can still start but right now don't go all in. Don't invest all your small saving start the investment gradually.

I would advice for you to build something substantial in Bitcoin investment you need to have a source income to support your plans. A one time investment looking at how big the price of Bitcoin is won't be enough.

Find a good source of income, plan how much you want to save and weekly or daily you can keep depositing it. The process of investing is not that difficult, get a Bitcoin private wallet where you would store and then get an exchange where you would buy Bitcoin from. Preferably you can get decentralized exchange
30  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: in future are you hoping to see some countries in Africa legalis bitcoin. on: March 22, 2024, 05:57:32 PM
Fifty year is quite a long time, I think before fifty years lots of African nations would use Bitcoin easily without the restrictions. Although right now it's really hard being a Bitcoin enthusiast in Africa.

My country has caused binance to remove our Fiat currency from their platform and they even went extra mile to withhold binance representative as at that time, all this happening but crypto-currency is still thriving in the country, this should tell any African government gain crypto-currency to back down.
31  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Is poloniex safe? on: March 22, 2024, 04:29:00 PM
First exchange is a very sensitive sector, I actually don't play around with exchanges or do I experiment on it. I am not the one to have used many exchanges, the one I use now has been working for me an I have no problems with it so I don't see the need.

But if I was to change exchange definitely I would consider reputation, I would put into consideration what the public says about their experiences on the exchange that's for sure, that would be my first test but I would try to ensure it's a genuine feedback, so it's up to you to make so with the answers you get here about the exchange and compare/contrast.
32  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Have you ever done something crazy to bet? on: March 21, 2024, 06:57:56 PM
Gambling is very unpredictable and you might think you are correct in your prediction but then you find out it went south after the game is over. I have experienced losses lots of time even betting on the team with the lower odds.

My craziest experience in betting actually happened when I went against what I am used to by betting on the team with the highest odds, as high as 35 odds against a team so good they don't have win or draw option.

The game started greatly early goal from my team that last almost all through the match. The most interesting part was that I was very close to winning until additional time when the other team scored to equalize..
33  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Ripple Is biggest Enemy of Bitcoin on: March 21, 2024, 04:42:48 PM
This would just be yet another attack on Bitcoin sponsored by those who hate Bitcoin and like the rest it would not hold much water. Bitcoin has proven to be here to stay and no individual, organization or country can bring it down.

Try making a quick search on those attacking Bitcoin you would see a long list even from religious leaders, but none has achieved their malicious aims. Bitcoin controls the market even if we want to ignore that it is the truth. The bull run happening now would depend on how Bitcoin does, that is how strong the impact of Bitcoin is already.
34  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Are there some charges to use Bitcoin ATMs ? on: March 21, 2024, 03:10:18 PM
Definitely there are charges attached to using the Bitcoin ATM . Even if you haven't yet used the Bitcoin ATM. The more popular fiat ATM requires some fees for your transaction to be carried out, also when sending Bitcoin to a wallet you would be required to pay transaction fee.

All this fee's including that of the Bitcoin ATM makes your transaction possible so yes it's important and this fee varies from country to country or from the settings on the machine.

Here is a post that properly explains it

35  Economy / Economics / Re: Farming and it importance to the economy on: March 21, 2024, 08:50:20 AM
Farming and agriculture is one underated sector that used to be the value of a country wealth and even individual wealth. Since the discovery of crude oil, precious stones agriculture has slipped down in interest from country to individuals but I think it is just the mentality of time.

Food is very important to survival infact on Maslow hierarchy of needs physiological value is far important than any other value meaning agriculture would always be very important.

Using my country for example before crude oil was found we used to export agricultural products like groundnuts, Cocoa, rubber, rice e.t.c and this helped the economy immensely and we had a more stable economy than we have now that we are one of the highest crude oil exporters (although this has to also do with corruption).

Even individually we have ignored the importance of agriculture, it is a sector that can creat independent business owners, form small scale to large scale.
36  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Football teams create a kind of community on: March 20, 2024, 07:39:26 PM
Recently I've been reading about the tension and division that football can put amongst people making it look as tho they are part of a different community or even county, like when two famous clubs are playing, and members of the same family or friends would be against each other forgetting other bonds they once had and going all out to support their club or née family they belong to.

The point is why does football create such a tension and division that can even result to fight and dispute sometimes.
The joy of the football game is the passion of the fans and also the most cause of casualty in the football game is also the passion of the fans. There are many fans that has taking their passion to far negatively it turned into hooliganism.

Football has brought joy to many off and on the pitch and many football team has engaged in several charity outreach and has helped many families so football team has always been improving the community and this won't change, we have seen players like Marcus rashford helping kids, not just him several others too.
37  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: AZORult stealer targets crypto wallets with a sophisticated HTML smuggling on: March 20, 2024, 09:07:24 AM
As far as I understand, the stealer hunts for Windows users by installing a shortcut in the form of a PDF file. But we must already remember that the files themselves have the PDF and DOCX extensions often carry the danger of viruses, and it is always not recommended to open them unless you know who could have sent them to you.
One thing I can recommend is to be attentive to your clicks on links so as not to end up on a phishing site. Use a virtual machine if the file is very interesting and necessary, but it’s better to start learning Linux.
This is a very wise advice but I personally feel you can't be too secured, let's say you are very watchful about your clicks and you have been going about your duty online in a safe manner, but your get such PDF sent to you by a trusted person who harmlessly thought they were doing you a favor because maybe the PDF is potential job for you or something else but it turns to be phishing link, malware.

You can't be completely secured that is why you need to have a cold storage wallet, having this would give you satisfaction of safety at no cost, get a device that remains offline, there are lots of ways to get attacked by being online.

You can use this to set it up.

38  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: ~~~When did you first heard about bitcoin 2024 Halving edition~~ on: March 19, 2024, 07:55:48 PM
Its been a while I've been hearing about bitcoin but there's no doubt that after the time i adopted this digital currency, this will be my first experience with halving within the system, there's much to talk about when it comes to halving as well as more to learn, because this is one of the most interesting season i which many investors have their focus on in other to realized up to their expectations.
I am not experienced when it comes to the Bitcoin halving, but I have had good time already in Bitcoin, the best way to experience Bitcoin halving for the first time is being calm. The halving hasn't yet come but we have seen how the market this past weeks has been, even shit coins saw some rise in price.

The Bitcoin halving would still cause so many coins to spike up this is not a guarantee that those coins would be successful. The Bitcoin halving would cause many to move into crypto-currency even if they do not Believe in crypto. Everyone would be looking for fast gains. Watch out for FUD, FOMO, don't make panic buys or sell.
39  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: excited to join this vibrant place on: March 19, 2024, 07:28:42 PM
Welcome to the forum mate but you should also understand that this is not a hangout or meet me type of forum. This is a general group and knowledge that are being shared here is for everyone.

Also don't expect handouts from anyone, you would be required to go search for knowledge from post made here. Furthermore you sound very enthusiastic about sharing business ideas across different sectors but permit be to tell you that your safety is not guaranteed when you do such business with random people here.

Don't drop you guard, do your own research, don't trust without verifying, be patient and work at your own pace, follow the rules and regulations and you would not be in problems.
40  Economy / Economics / Re: Big instutions and Banks have invested too much in Europe on: March 18, 2024, 02:55:43 PM

it's not up to Putin to stop the war. one of the parties has to surrender for the war to be over or simply just peace talk and accept the condition of Putin since he has the leverage to give the condition. Ukraine also will not accept the condition of Putin since it's going to appear NATO to be weak for they are the ones backing the country. there's the reason for war to continue.

blackrock does have a plan to rebuild Ukraine which they bid an enormous amount of money but if Putin controls the country that money won't be going to Ukraine.
For peace to reign both parties need to put up an argument or what they want and not just that they should also be ready to accept each others opinions and be willing to be live by some point made by the other country even if it is against what they believe in.

Peace is not the absence of grievance or faults but the ability to see through them and accept one another.

I think peace is still very possible but the support game should be dropped and rather in the interest of the world we all try to put peace between both countries.
