Still waiting for the 30K IXC bounty.

Still haven't compiled your new client. Will try to do it this week.

Some are saying part of it should go to Luke for his efforts on the website. Please let me know your thoughts.

Done.

If you could add Ixcoin, the altcoin progenitor, that would be much appreciated. Thanks.

Noted :-) Everybody else happy with the new logo?
25  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Ixcoin TODO on: February 21, 2014, 02:43:10 AM
Will check if I have the same problem.  What version of Windows?

Wait.... the .exe file for iXcoin 0.8.6 is named ixcoind.exe and the client is iXcoin-qt.exe ... so it appears you are running the old client using the new database!

Yes, I am using the old client with the old database. It crashes on startup.
26  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Ixcoin TODO on: February 21, 2014, 02:42:05 AM

If you have an old version then the data in the appdata directory is in conflict with the new one.   Start fresh, or delete the appdata directory.   Save ofcourse you wallet.dat file.

Here's the deal,  the 0.8.6 client uses LevelDB and not BDB, so obviously it is not compatible with the old client.

However all your private keys are held in the wallet.dat file,  so you need to keep that.

Got it. I need to go over the new Ixcoin client source and compile it when I get a chance. Which version is the most stable?

About the website: I hope ixcoin.org will simply mirror what ixcoin.co will be. The reason is simple: I made an effort to convince websites to update the address of the official website, while others did not do it. Having both it will give anyone the chance to be updated to the last developments.

The previous host for ixcoin.org wants $85 because of the bandwidth over-usage charge. I had no idea a $5/year hosting plan could generate $85 without blocking the account way before for over-usage. I'm not sure it is worth going back to this host if such things are possible. I'd like to find another cheap host to host the old ixcoin.org page. I'm fine with ixcoin.org mirroring ixcoin.co if everybody else is. ixcoin.co would need a bit of cleanup first though. Can we use the old logo?

Hello,

I shared the following post with the community and then from there a few of us have been in discussions on the approach moving forward. https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=432578.0

I've been working on a new website, roadmap and strategy for iXcoin in collaboration with the small but active community. http://lukeconnellau.wix.com/ixcoin-v3

It would be good to chat on skype to discuss iXcoin in further detail.

I'll read through the various Ixcoin-related threads this weekend to get back up to speed.

The community website looks impressive! It will need a bit of cleanup though.
29  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Ixcoin TODO on: February 21, 2014, 02:32:08 AM

i still have that runtime error on the new windows wallet, worked fine on first run, it synched my old wallet address (the one which wouldn't send out coin), I managed to send Luke his 5 ixcoin back, then after my laptop had restarted, this every time I try to run the ixcoin wallet;

That is my issue too.
30  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Ixcoin TODO on: February 21, 2014, 02:31:03 AM

I spent 12 hours per day the last 8 months spreading the word and bringing in investors but without proper developers I would still be alone here.

That said, Friction brought hope back and brought talented dev work for two months and even built a site and new logo.

Luke. I have no words for this guy.  In just 3 weeks luke has moved mountains.

There is no coin with this kind of talent.

So Thomas, these two guys deserve recognition in a huge way.

Well I guess we could split the 30K IXC bounty between Luke and Friction then. How does everyone feel about this?

And just like I supported Their decisions I will put my 633,000 iXcoin votes behind you all the way.

Wait, you have 630K IXC? Wow. You are indeed the Ixcoin king here ;-)
31  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Ixcoin TODO on: February 20, 2014, 03:11:57 AM
OH, fuck me!

Welcome back, brother.  Take a look, I kept your name alive and even fought for your legacy!

But I still wanna punch you in the face for leaving me alone with these mindless [premine] hoards all these long months.  lol.

Don't dare take off again!   And YES, dot ORG is a must have.  And the twitter account.

Thanks for helping carry the IXC torch! Much appreciated.
32  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Ixcoin TODO on: February 20, 2014, 02:31:48 AM
Hi Everyone,

I'm back. I'd lost access to my secure machine these last few months loosing access to all my ixcoin-related account passwords. This combined with a somewhat lack of community enthusiasms for Ixcoin at the time,  made me focus on other things.

It appears the website Ixcoin.org was taken down by the host in January due to excessive bandwidth. For some reason, lots of people were accessing the Ixcoin website or it was hacked. I'm looking at restoring the website at the moment.

I'm not sure if I owe someone a 30K IXC bounty for something. If I do, please msg me. Last time I ran the Ixcoin client (several months ago), it was having issues synching with the blockchain and was only downloading a small number of blocks after startup then stalling. It's crashing on me now when I start it. I need to look into this. Any suggestions as to how to fix this would be welcome.

I see that there's an initiative by ixcoin.co to update the Ixcoin client. I think that is great. I'm happy to put this up on the main ixcoin.org website (once I get it back up) if others welcome the idea.

Looking forward to getting Ixcoin back on track if there is community support for it.

Thomas.

I've updated http://www.ixcoin.org but including the defunct FAQ from the wiki and modifying/pruning some of the links. I'm hoping to update it as we get Ixcoin back on track.

I'm trying to update the blockchain on the one of my Ixcoin clients and it seems to accept a 100+ new block then it stops. I get this error:

50.116.37.18 is a long running node I run.

Thanks. I've added it to the main Ixcoin.org page.
35  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Ixcoin TODO on: June 22, 2013, 04:55:17 PM
I'm looking for Ixcoin nodes to add on the Ixcoin website. Someone mentioned 198.154.60.183. Anybody got more?
36  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Ixcoin TODO on: June 22, 2013, 04:51:58 PM

Looks great guys. Good to have a couple of Ixcoin block explorers online. Shall we split the bounty between you two? Are you ok with that?

I like the merged mining.  I'll add 10,000 IXC to the bounty for the Ixcoin client upgrade.

Ok thanks. Let's see if someone is interested in pursuing dev on the updated client.

By the way, there also a bunch of nice Ixcoin stats up at http://cryptometer.org

37  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Ixcoin TODO on: June 12, 2013, 01:06:56 AM
How about a block explorer?

We use to have one or two, but they seem defunct now. Anyone interested? There's a 20K IXC bounty.
38  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Ixcoin TODO on: June 12, 2013, 01:05:45 AM
Howabout switch up Ixcoin to Scrypt?

It's merged mined, so don't think we can do that.
39  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Ixcoin TODO on: June 12, 2013, 12:33:27 AM
any word on what will you will be doing with all the coins you pre-mined? Will they still be kept for bounties?

You can buy on vicurex 500K for about 22BTC. After the initial bounties, there's less than half that left in premined coins. I've spent more than that in servers, time, conference sponsorship and a banner. I'll be giving more out for this bounty and future ones. But if people want me to give them all away now to quell any fears that I might be incentivized, then please let me know.
40  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Ixcoin TODO on: June 09, 2013, 08:15:30 PM
Excellent. Moving to the latest 0.8+ would benefit this one too.

A bit of an undertaking, but that should resolve a few issues such as the tray icon.

Who would like to contribute to the bounty? I'll put 30K IXC towards it.
