Do you have the lastest version?
Is your wallet is synchronized?

Yes i have latest version. On my wallet is Oke, but i have this:

Don't focus on the output of the console this is perfectly normal.
I will probably clean it up or remove most of it as the information does not really help the users.
22  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Qora | Released 16 May | 100% POS | New Source on: September 21, 2014, 03:44:04 PM
Can people buy asset 12 as a test? Buy 10 assets each then I will test

Done.

Edit:  Not sure what exactly went down...  I placed an order for 10 (amount) @ 1 (price)...  ended up with 900.  Probably your order was included in the same block and I overbid...  I should have waited for your Ask to appear first.

Edit2:  OK...  now I placed an Ask @ 0.01 for all 900.

If someone sells at 0.01 and you buy at 1 it matches the order in your favor.

Don't create assets yet with the early v16. Upgrade to the new v16 and wait for 2 hours or there will be problems and a lot of orphaned blocks.

  • Fixed the problem where new assets would not confirm. Assets will now be enabled at 21 September 2PM GMT.

Not upgrading to this version before 21 September 2PM GMT will make your client fork.

There is an issue with the current version that is stopping assets from working.
This issue has been solved and I have contacted the large holders to update to the new version as soon as possible.
Once they have upgraded I will post the new version here.

  • Finally completed the GUI for assets. Assets will unlock on 19 September 5PM GMT.
  • Upgraded the database. You will have to delete all your data files. Once we have the application stable future updates will patch the current database.

Now that assets has been completed, making the client 100% stable will be the first priority.
Qora will also be reorganised as the current direction is not really working.

Not upgrading to this version before 19 September 5PM GMT will make your client fork.
27  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Qora | Released 16 May | 100% POS | New Source on: September 07, 2014, 08:12:19 PM
There is a small change of plans regarding assets.

During this weekend I found some problems with the current version so I had to fix those.
This means that somewhere during this week I will post the final version including the GUI.
After that we will have to wait a few days to make sure the heavy forgers have had the chance to upgrade and then assets will finally launch.

You will be able to trade any combination of pairs. This includes Qora/Asset, Asset/Qora or Asset/Asset.
All the orders on the exchange will be matched automaticly.

  • Added the core for assets. Assets will unlock on 8 September 5PM GMT. The version with the GUI will be released before 8 September.
  • Upgraded the database. You are now able to see all the rows in a table instead of the last 50. You can no longer sort on every row in a table. You will have to delete all your data files.
  • Fixed the 'rpcallowed' setting.
  • The wallet will now automaticly resynchronize with the blockchain.

This is mostly an experimental version. Just to see it it works somewhat stable as much of the core has been reworked.
If this version seems useable I will add the upgrade warning.
You will have to delete both your data and wallet folders and recreate your wallet to use this version.

To give everyone an idea of how assets are going to work in Qora I created this document that explains the basics.
https://docs.google.com/document/d/1fEM-zDwelHxL4RuwelCZThu1zhFeRThUnH3z01KlowU/edit?pli=1

Creating and transferring assets are finished. Creating orders will probably be finished tomorrow. I don't expect the rest to take very long.

  • The settings.ini has been converted into settings.json.
  • By putting the setting "generatorkeycaching" to "true" you can keep generating blocks after you lock your wallet as long as you have unlocked your wallet once since startup.
  • Added a new API command "POST transactions/scan".
  • Added a new setting "maxbyteperfee" this will make the client ignore transactions that have a higher byteperfee. By default this value is 512. This will help the network and nodes to protect themselves during an attack.

The new API documentation can be found here:

Qora do we need a new vote as to what new feature to add after AT?

A new vote will be created soon to decide what is next.

This version contains Arbitrary Transactions which will be activated on 18 July 5PM GMT.

I know I promised that the next version would contain native executables but it doesn't.
It is something I will do between now and the activation of Arbitrary Transactions.

Not upgrading to this version before 18 July 5PM GMT will make your client fork.

Properly detects when a connection is closed.
Fixed a memory issue when the debug window would have been open for a long time.
Fixed a problem where the client stops connecting to peers when the database would contain more then 1000 peers.
Fixed some problems with the database.

It is impossible to know all the technical details of all cryptocurrencies.

The default Bitcoin client only allows you to spend your own unconfirmed transactions.
I think they have disabled this because they have a higher volume of transactions therefore the chance of a transaction not getting confirmed is higher.

With qora it is unlikely that a transaction won't get confirmed because the volume of transactions is not that high so transactions don't have to compete for a place in the next block yet.
So currently we can rely that every valid transaction will be included in the next block.

If the transaction on which your transaction relies doesn't confirm you will have to wait 24h until it becomes invalid.
35  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Qora | Released 16 May | 100% POS | New Source on: June 30, 2014, 08:51:06 PM

Still trying to get my non technical head around this. Bitcoin could do the same but it chooses not to (cause it not safe due to double spending) but with Qora it is safe?

Can you talk a little at least about how this compares in more detail to Bitcoins way of processing transactions?

How will transaction boosting improve things?

So if someone sends you Qora you can send them away before the transaction gets confirmed.
But if that person instead creates a second transaction with the same reference and a higher fee the transaction with the lower fee and your transaction won't get confirmed.

Transaction boosting simply allows you to send your transaction immediatly to the persons that have an interest in it.
This way the transaction would not have to go through the whole network.

Maybe you can't answer this Qora cause you don't know must about NXT  Roll Eyes (joking) but it would be really important to know how this compares to NXT and Bitcoin because this could be the killer feature under our noses all the time that distinguishes Qora from others.

So if others who do know NXT also could answer that would be great too. Are there negatives to this way of doing things?

Instant payments is massive, Bitcoin simply isn't that viable to pay for your latte at Starbucks if you are waiting for 5 minutes. Plus Qora really would go to the moon if it was superior in this area to the competition.

It is not instant.
Bitcoin also supports this although they block it in the standard client.
I don't know about nxt.
37  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Qora | Released 16 May | 100% POS | New Source on: June 30, 2014, 06:21:56 PM
@qora
When I transaction some coins to other address, as far as we know the adress will recieve the coins immediately.
This is really amazing.
But it can't be comfirmed immediately, only after a block was generated, it will be confirmed.
A interesty thing is we can sent these unconfirmed coins to another address.
We know the other coins can't do this(include bitcoin and NXT and other coins)
So how it works ?
whould this lead to double spend?

You can send funds to another address while they are unconfirmed.
Your transaction will then rely on the other transaction so if that one doesn't confirm yours won't either.
The same works with names or voting.
You can already sell a name before it is confirmed.

Arbitrary transactions are the same as automatic transactions? Or automatic transactions are not yet included in the google doc?

Totally different.
Arbitrary transactions only contains data.
Automatic transactions execute code.
40  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Qora | Released 16 May | 100% POS | New Source on: June 26, 2014, 09:03:05 PM
Do you have an understanding how much time would you need for anonymous transactions?

Atleast twice the amount of time of what would be needed for colored coins.
I can't give an exact amount of time.
