21  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The Bitcoin Foundation-fraudsters, pedophiles, murderers ,fat fucks and scammers on: May 24, 2014, 10:41:25 PM
Bitcoin is a consensus based network.
BINGO! I don't think most people realize how important this is, how radical and brilliant the solution of [the blockchain] crypto is, to the problem of [trust] money.

Consensus among about 6 miners that own near all hash rate? Descentralization does not exist right now.

Which, again, speaks to the importance of the majority to work together to assume control.

"All that is required for evil to triumph is for good men to do nothing"

In the end, bitcoin is open source. That's the difference between it and the fiat system.
If the people behind the euro are corrupt.. well, good luck doing anything about it.
If the people behind bitcoin are corrupt.. well, seize control over it.

Bitcoin is a consensus based network. For example; if more people want a fork of bitcoin that doesn't have a website or sourceforge under the control of the foundation.. we just do it. Nobody can stop the majority from winning in bitcoin.. that's true democracy.

I would say that there's only one thing stopping it: not enough developers that know the protocol inside out. If the majority wants to take control, the majority needs to be educated. If only a rotten few know how to develop it, only a rotten few will ever be in control. It's up to us to take control if we want it.

What, if any, effect do you guys think that this will have on the continued development of bitcoin, as well as the legitimacy and regulation thereof?
24  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Was Autumn Radtke murdered due to something she knew about Brock Pierce, et al.? on: May 24, 2014, 08:56:52 AM
I'll give you a free bump. This is the kind of information that can really shake the bitcoin world. It needs to be read.. and spread.
I think you should post it to r/bitcoin on reddit if you haven't already.
25  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [NXT] Nxt - Official Thread on: May 17, 2014, 03:35:21 PM
the point is that it should be as easy as is possible to find how to download the client. i dont think it is as easy as is possible right now. not nearly.

I agree. Having to open the menu to the right (took me some time to even see it) or scroll to the bottom is unnecessarily difficult.

Yes, thank you!
26  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [NXT] Nxt - Official Thread on: May 17, 2014, 03:23:41 PM
Are there any good sites/tools for technical analysis of NXT? If we're going to be seeing more swings/volume I'd like to be able to actively trade it.. just not doing it blind.
27  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: April 27, 2014, 09:17:18 PM
For bears: How long should bitcoin price rise and to what price that we can call this dip over?

I'm sticking with >$550 on high volume. If we're not able to do that, we're not going anywhere.
28  Economy / Exchanges / Re: www.BITSTAMP.net Bitcoin exchange site for USD/BTC on: April 26, 2014, 10:57:32 AM
Hm.. some weird little things have happened lately.. first I had 15 BTC in my account.. a while later it was down to 14.74.. I just let it go as there were no withdrawals/no activity.
Today, 2-3 days later.. my dollar amount was negative (-$6).

I removed some of my buy orders and that fixed it.. but still strange.

Just combined two charts and drew some lines... the bitstamp one from October-now and a long term price trendline chart 2011-2015.

As long as we don't break $550 on large volume, I will remain bearish. I've readjusted my position from 35/65 to 50/50 (more in fiat now).
Feeling comfortable no matter what happens now. Taking a break from bitcoin and waiting for my alarms to go off (either lower than $400 or higher than $550).

It's now 10:47 AM in New York. My experience is that we see the next round of volume start to come in sometime between now and 4-5 PM NY time. Lunch time and evening.

Then stop bumping your thread - you're advertising it for them....... Roll Eyes

Even better, delete it.

Out of sight, out of mind? Ignorance is bliss?

I'm still waiting for $590. Unless we break $540-550 on volume and keep going, there may still be time for a pullback.
But I'm becoming more and more bullish. Fingers crossed etc.

I'm still waiting... this will be an interesting day either way. But so far we haven't been able to push far enough to convince me that the down trend is broken.
We're very close though... sooo close.
34  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Amazon has just legitimized Bitcoin to the Entire World!!!! on: April 16, 2014, 08:24:50 AM
When I read the Post "Amazon has just legitimized Bitcoin to the Entire World!!!!" I thought I could already buy stuff on amazon.com. I guess the wish was father to the thought...

You can, if you buy a gift card with bitcoin through gyft.com

But yeah, leave it to the cultists to put a positive spin on everything. I mean, I am bullish on bitcoin long term, but not because of a (at best neutral) statement by Amazon.

Behold, my new bitcoin miner weaver:

It is with regret that I announce I have gone bull, and have bought back most my coins in phases over the past 3 days. Once the 3D cross happens (which seems inevitable), I am offlining them, and taking a break from trading during the midpoint-consolidations.

That might be an unexpectedly short break.  Time will tell.

I'm still waiting for $590. Unless we break $540-550 on volume and keep going, there may still be time for a pullback.
But I'm becoming more and more bullish. Fingers crossed etc.

Disclosure: I bought some at $517.
37  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: April 14, 2014, 12:25:59 PM
When I say that I'm not doing anything right now, it's because I simply don't know where we're going.
I don't feel comfortable saying that the downtrend is over unless we go above $580. But at the same time I'm not as bearish as TERA.
I'm trying to stay balanced in my approach, so I'm somewhere in between bear/bull. I'm not ready to come out of the closet yet.
38  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: April 14, 2014, 11:55:47 AM
We have a long way to go before I would consider this a bullish resumption. I'd say at least $580.
Otherwise we might end up continuing the downtrend again to even lower levels. I'm not doing anything at this point.
39  Economy / Digital goods / Re: Diablo 3 ROS Powerlevel/boost 1-70 / Legendary items / Rift runs on: April 13, 2014, 11:53:26 AM
Is the Lvl.70 Legendary available on Hardcore? I have a Lvl.70 Wizard on HC and might be interested.

Edit: Nevermind, I read now it's softcore. If you ever offer hardcore I'll probably buy.. unless I'm already fully decked by then. Wink
40  Economy / Speculation / Re: [ Poll ] How did you feel today on: April 11, 2014, 08:54:06 AM
Got my bids filled from $465-391. I still have plenty of fiat left on Bitstamp so if we go deeper I'll be there, scooping up coins.
All of the coins I have are long term now. I don't necessarily expect the bull market to resume quickly.. could be 3-6 months. Who knows. I'll just need to find another hobby in the mean time I guess.

I did bet on us not breaking below $380 (thus my bid placements), and I was wrong on that one. But since I didn't go all-in I'm alright emotionally.
