21  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][Sloth] Slothcoin - SHA3 - Hardfork monday, 7-8PM GMT on: March 24, 2014, 12:13:21 AM
I find myself wanting to buy more of this coin. I'm just not mining it fast enough  Tongue  and after the fork, I'll be mining even less. But that's okay, so will everybody else! I bought half of the coin I'm holding now at 2 satoshi simply because I didn't want to miss the pump, and then it immediately went back to 1 satoshi. Haha. Grrr. Still not a bad price, I was just hoping to do that to some of you fine people. Tongue I'm curious to see how the fork affects trade. It will be good me thinks.

Hardfork Question:

Should I wait to update until the pools have also updated? Or will that coin be on the wrong fork? Will the 1.1 wallet create a separate  .dat file in AppData or will it write over the old one?  Huh Noob questions. I've only hardforked once, and the wallet was an installer. It just updated everything and didn't alter the current .dat (it was backed up anyway). Not sure how that works with a .zip

Could I just open the new wallet and send my coin to it?
Yes, there is nothing you have to do besides to update to the newest wallet. If you have updated, everything will be alright!

Awesome! Thank you!

I love the "slothstronaut" image and name, but if it doesn't turn out right, the current logo isn't bad either.  Grin What do you guys think about really embracing our mission (to the MOON!) by say, somehow donating to NASA? You're probably all familiar with Penny4NASA?

SLOTH4NASA!

waiting for confirmation two days from atomic trade, not receive from gmail

Check under the "Promotions" tab. For whatever reason that's where gmail files the confirmation email. Cheers!

I agree that we should target services, but hype on reddit and other social media is what propelled the Doge to where it is now. We need to hype while we're brainstorming services. I think it's important that everyone understand that this is the very beginning. We are on the ground floor. Let's be real... most coins promote themselves fairly well. People will be flocking to Sloth for the foreseeable future simply because it's a new coin, and the profit potential is enormous. There will be pump and dumps, there will be fan boys, and there will be haters. I think a strong community is the only thing truly necessary for a coin to be successful. (i.e. Doge) That community must continue to innovate, and inform the public of said innovations. So many coins become "stale" because they don't live up to their promises, or rather, delusions of grandeur.

I'd love to see a developers blog. We're all on board, but it's nice to know where we're going, and how we're getting there.  Cool Ras, out.

Anybody know why http://sloth.imine.at is down? It's been a couple hours... 70,000 Sloth's being held hostage!
Don't know, let me message the pool admin. The back end is up by the way.

Good deal! Thank you, thimo. I'm grinding at crunchharder atm. Nice pool.   Smiley

Converted .25BTC to SLOTH today. I'll drag that Sloth to the moon if I have to!  Kiss

60,000 kh/s is 60mh/s right? Pool has me clocked at 220 kh/s ... Man I hope that isn't accurate. Am I only getting a fraction of the coins I should be getting?

Hey mate. Mpos cannot display the real stats as SHA-3 is fairly new. The stats are not too far from the real value as far as i know. Let me know if you have any issues.

Cheers

The thing that has me perplexed, is the pool statistics. If SHA-3 isn't being reported accurately because it's fairly new, it's all good. But check out these stats: (I'm on the bottom)

It looks like other workers are being reported accurately? Unless those guys just have WAY more hash power than me.  Shocked Which is possible. Haha. I've mined around 60,000 coins in 14 hours or so. Just wondering if it should be way more?

Hey guys, was super excited about this coin.. but the wallet isnt available on the site (still?) and the one working pool I could find is reporting my KH/s as 130 kh/s (give or take) and cudaminer is 69-70,000.... not too hung up on that, but my valid shares as reported by the pool are ridiculously low.  Huh

Cudaminer gave me a "too much memory" error, but went with that kernel anyway, and I haven't had any rejects.

Any ideas? I've been watching the countdown for days! GRRR Cry
