21  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: KnC Miner Titan 2.0 SCAM on: May 16, 2017, 11:08:57 AM
Cointelegraph has now removed the advertisement and Coinpayments does not longer provide payment service. But the scam is still active using the website and order form.
22  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: KNC Miner to return with 750 mg/s scrypt miner on: May 16, 2017, 10:40:29 AM
I just talked to the real owners and the KnC Miner Titan 2.0 does not exist. They also have no plan to sell products to end-users, ever. This is not the first time people try to do scams in the name of KnC Miner. Be careful when you buy mining equipment, many of them are scams.
I have contacted cointelegraph (advertising for this scam) and coinpayments (processing payments for this scam) but still have not received any reply from them.

Great Smiley I will add your site to the list of mining pools!
25  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] KibiCoin (KIC) on: December 28, 2016, 09:20:36 PM
There is a new release with updated checkpoints at heights 22000 and 44000:
https://github.com/KibiCoin/kibicoin/releases/tag/v0.1.3

Another altcoin, Swiscoin (SCN), recently was attacked with a one month old fork that caused big problems for them. To make sure that won't happen to KibiCoin we will release updated versions of the wallet with checkpoints so that such an attack will be more difficult to perform against KibiCoin.
26  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: Swiscoin - Clone version of Litecoin. Launched! on: December 28, 2016, 07:18:45 PM
https://scnblockchain.com/status is back online Smiley and running on the correct chain. Most exchanges have SCN in maintenance until majority has updated wallet and made sure they run on the official chain.

https://www.blockexperts.com/scn still running the hacked chain where several hundred millions of SCN is moving around almost in every block. Looking like tumbler activity on that chain.

I hope they release an updated version of windows wallet soon since the one available for download only syncs with the hacked chain.
27  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: Swiscoin - Clone version of Litecoin. Launched! on: December 28, 2016, 02:09:29 PM
I urge ALL users and especially service providers like exchanges to resync the SCN blockchain with the latest source code so that you get back on the correct blockchain. Otherwise one month of transactions are lost. The hackers are desperately trying to get their 400-500 million of SCN somewhere to be traded probably.

Look at these very recent transactions:

The block explorer we used yesterday seems to be in maintenance now https://scnblockchain.com/

There is another explorer that shows very strange values and seems to have a combination of both chains.
Look at this block for example, it seems to include 58 transactions with total value of more than 365 million SCN.
https://www.blockexperts.com/scn/hash/ae6fadb9ee819674b61f2daf5d19e0336b9d2aa1fbd061ccabf3512286ea5792

We are starting up a test-wallet with old source on the wrong chain just to check this and some other blocks and transactions.

Another update available: https://github.com/SCNPay/swiscoin
Small changes this time, dev forgot to update some values when adding checkpoints yesterday.
Also https://scnblockchain.com/status is back online and now running on the correct chain!

what is going on with that explorer.
it shows multiple blocks with the same height, with them both being orphans ??

https://scnblockchain.com/blocks

I think they just noticed that because now the site is in maintenance again: https://scnblockchain.com/ (502 Bad Gateway)
Most important is that they now sync to the same height as we have with new source that makes sure you end up on the right chain.
There is still no compiled windows wallet that works on the correct chain.

Fork at block #155793

One month of transactions was lost when a fork appeared about one day ago. It seems like an attacker has been mining with their own nodes separated from the internet.

It seems like dev has reacted to this and in the new release of the source code trying to enforce the "correct" chain by adding checkpoints.
https://github.com/SCNPay/swiscoin/commit/a7393f4dd118fcf63cef5b49cb1971acf7c498c3

We have worked several hours to make sure we are back on the correct chain using the latest source with checkpoints.
Please download the latest version that includes the checkpoints: https://github.com/SCNPay/swiscoin

If you need nodes that are working on the correct chain feel free to use the ones below:
addnode=217.175.119.126
addnode=88.206.141.110
addnode=78.66.83.88

You probably have to remove the folders: database, chainstate and blocks to make sure you end up on the right chain.

dont mine this coin guyz, it will be scam

It will be scam? The source code is available on GitHub and it is a fully transparent blockchain just like Litecoin and Bitcoin. So please explain where you find any reason to say such things. We are not interested in pump-n-dump, we focus on getting stability in price and our aim is to be a safe place for value with an exchange rate around 1000 satoshi. We have a very good relation with NovaExchange and are planning some nice cooperation features with them for the future.

Nice work with http://ypool.ga/kic/ and you seem to have a great number of pools within your site http://ypool.ga/!
If we get some feedback from users of your pool we will add it as a recommended pool.
For now we have only http://hashnova.com/pools/Kibicoin/KIC/ that we fully trust.
I will also try out your pool myself to see how it works compared to HashNova.

At the moment you probably have to run the ./configure command with some flags. This is a problem of latest Litecoin source code that KibiCoin is built on.
Please try with the commands written for Ubuntu 16.04 or 14.04 and see if that helps (https://github.com/KibiCoin/kibicoin/blob/master/doc/build-ubuntu.md).
Also one of devs found a fix in the confiure.ac file that has not been committed yet, I hope that will solve these compilations issues without having to add flags to the ./configure command.

Funny coin:
- no wallet
- no block explorer
- a lot of errors while compiling from source code
- no roadmap

@Dev: before offering it to the community, why don't you try first to fix your sour code and provide a working block explorer as well as work on a road map!

This is the first time we release a coin and we will make many mistakes probably. First mistake we did was to announce a date for releasing the coin. The name Kibi stands for 2^10 = 1024 and is a binary prefix. We thought it would be nice to release it on 2016-10-24 because of this. Looking back I can honestly say we should have revised this date and waited until all parts was complete.

But something positive we found during testing was that the client is very stable once it is compiled and running. We used the latest version of Litecoin 0.10.x and it is known to be a bit more difficult to compile compared to 0.8.x.

Maybe you can find some help from the instructions in this document for compiling, at least for Ubuntu:
https://github.com/KibiCoin/kibicoin/blob/master/doc/build-ubuntu.md

Also one of the developers found a nice fix in configure.ac that should remove most compilation issues. I will ask him to commit these changes as soon as possible.

you are swapping two other shitcoins for kibi? why and what's the point?

The swap is only 2.5% of the totalt supply of KibiCoin. We wanted to implement some ideas in the previous two coins, but the developers of those coins are not active and not even responding any more. The domains related to those coins has also expired and the network is very weak. Also the source code was based on old code that was not secure and not stable. So we decided to create KibiCoin instead and offer people that has invested time, mining and money in the two previous coins a way of not loosing it all by offering a swap into KibiCoin.

We don't make promises, we don't say that we are better than any other altcoin. But we will continue answering questions and try to be as transparent as possible. We are working on block explorer and other functions related to an altcoin.

How much has been premined?
Planned premine: 4000000 KibiCoin (1.56% as seen in increased block reward for block #2)
Actual premine: 6419200 KibiCoin (2.5%, see explanation below)

Why was there more premine than expected?
Initial mining difficulty was set to the same value as for litecoin and that is far to low to start with today. To correct this we mined 16128 bocks.

Why 16128 blocks and how much more premine did this cause?
Difficulty retarget happens every 2016 blocks (3.5 days/retarget times 24 hours/day times 60 minutes/hour divided by 2.5 minutes/block).
Every retarget can increase diff with not more than a factor 4. Therefore we had to mine 16128 blocks for 8 retargets to happen to bring difficulty to 16.
We had already calculated for a premine of 4 million KibiCoin, all mined in the second block as you can see in the source code.
Because of this unplanned additional premining to get a reasonable diff we instead have 4000000 + 2419200 = 6419200 KibiCoin premined.

Why do you have premining?
All premining was used for coin swap at Novaexchange or was destroyed by being sent to a Proof of Burn address.
Swap 1, Aricoin v1: 103,625,000 ARI was swapped at ratio 25:1 to 4,145,000 KIC
Swap 2, Aricoin v2: 85,500,000 ARI was swapped at ratio 100:1 to 855,000 KIC
Remaining 1419200 KIC from premine was sent to Proof of Burn address LLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLM5jB83
All swapped Aricoins was also sent to Proof of Burn addresses as you can see in block explorers below.

How many KibiCoin will ever be created?
Litecoin was first built based on bitcoin source code. They decided to make total max supply 84 million, 4 times more than bitcoin that has a max supply of 21 million. We are trying to make KibiCoin a "third level" of value corresponding to bronze if bitcoin would have been gold and litecoin silver. KibiCoin max supply is 256 million about three times the max supply of litecoin. So the max supply numbers in order are 21 million bitcoin, 84 million litecoin and 256 million KibiCoin.
