21  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Prayer and gambling. on: June 20, 2021, 11:19:15 PM
Often times in my country, i have visited a sports betting shop to place my bet, and each time before I am about to do so, i always look out to the other service booths where bettings are received for other other individuals placing their bets as well.

Each time, i notice that out of the five service booths in this sports betting shop, it is common to see two or sometimes three individuals out of the five occupying the service booths always bow their head and mutter some words solemnly, a prayer i suppose.

Big questions - Do spiritual beings get involved or influence gambling results in the favour of those who pray to them?

Have you ever prayed before placing a bet (gambling)?
Did it work?

If you believe it does work, examine this scenerio.
If we both worship and serve same god, and we place our bets on the same games, in a manner that our bets are opposites, and we both say a solemn prayer to this our god before casting our bets, Who will this god favour?

Betting on the outcome of matches is similar to tossing a coin. If someone believes that a coin is able to turn in his favor, he will probably believe that he prayed it. It really has nothing to do with it.
I suggest you do an experiment.
Someone can bet on 10 games and you toss a coin 10 times.
The probability will be very similar, and often even better, than that of someone who was emotionally betting on matches.
I suggested something similar but your sample size is too small, if someone tossed a coin 1000 times without praying a single time and then did the same while praying to get the results they want we are going to find out there is not a statistical meaningful difference between the two samples, which leads us to a very simple conclusion, praying has no effect on our probabilities, something that should be obvious without running this experiment but this can be done just to make sure this is the case.

It can't be done actually because how are you going to verify that the person actually prayed? What does praying even mean? Talk some bible verses? This experiment can't be done, but I guess most of us agree that calling for some transcendental power for your own good does not work out very often... Wink

Why??? Why would anyone play on these when there are eur and usd casinos and poker rooms?

I try to move money to Coinpoker.com or any crypto poker and the minimum transaction fee for btc is over 20$ When my intended deposit 20$.

After the fees to get money on crypto poker my remaining balance is 0

While when you do usd or eur there no big or no fees at all and the deposit is instant to while crypto not.

Burn down bitcoin!!!! It's the worst useless, inferior shit you can imagine, how did ever get a market value

Nice rage! Cheesy I can feel what you are saying but seriously, check the fees beforehand if possible. I don't know what the deposit options are at that casino but there are coins where the tx fee is definitely alright. It makes sense to use crypto. You don't have any gambling history saved on your bank account.
23  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Prayer and gambling. on: June 19, 2021, 11:48:49 PM
Why don't you just go for a test and place 100 bets with praying and 100 bets without praying. Then you check whether there is a statistically significant deviation from one form of betting to the other. I am sorry to tell you the result upfront, but there won't be a difference. Otherwise the whole betting scene would turn into a religious cult for sure. Wink

That is an awesome idea , but maybe 100 bets are not enough Grin We should make a large size - like 1000 bets. This would be a nice case study. But which God are we praying for? We probably also need to test if there is a difference if we have a Christian, a Budhist , a Hindi or a Muslim praying to their own Gods. In the end we need a lot of bets just to be sure. Also what if there is a different if it is a woman praying or a men?

Haha yes, and if the prayers win the betting competition by a statistically significant margin I will double the winnings of the prayers, I promise. Or even better, I'll surely start praying myself while gambling.
24  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⚽UEFA EURO 2020 Discussion Thread | Current Phase: Finals in June 2021! on: June 19, 2021, 11:46:53 PM
Another not inspiring game of Spain.
Spain will not go so far in this competition imo even if it managed to pass the group stage.. I would say the whole group (E) isn't promising.
Now Germany winning 4 - 2 vs Portugal (2 - 4 isn't false too) is something unexpectedly good. Now that is a group (F) that every single team on it (/Hungary) deserves to be a champion Wink

I remember they had a similar situation in one tournament, but I cannot recall exactly which one it was, but they won it. Quite weak during the group stage, was very close and then they dominated the final rounds one after another. Spain is too strong to not be considered at least a secret favorite, but that does't nearly reflect the truth. They are strong enough to win it.
25  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: TRX to $1? on: June 19, 2021, 11:44:12 PM
Personally, I feel bad for TRX, the coin has a genuine usage purpose, its blockchain is user-friendly and the transactions are so cheap and fast. Still, it is struggling in the market. Whereas so many meme coins are getting pumped for no reason at all. I feel there is a partial mistake of Justin Sun also because he is not so good at promotions. Hopefully, TRX will break its resistance in the future and we will see another ATH.

Yes, this is totally right! TRX has the potential as much as ETH, but it still doesn't seem to be growing in the market. And yes, it burns to see memecoins like dogecoins growing larger than TRX. Fashionistas over Innovators!

I guess, there is a need to grow TRX and have more developers who work on the TRX blockchain so that the popularity grows further. Someone should hold bounties for developers who work on TRX (if there isn't one already).

They'll have it on track for sure, TRX is just a good potential coin, it will grow in the long run but it will not grow overnight, we see some coins grow in a short period of time, then we call it just hype, nothing more or less. TRX now together with other altcoins are struggling in value, but isn't it a great opportunity to buy? So, the right thing to do is to buy and not complain.

What is the current situation for Trop in regards to projects being launched on the platform? Is there an overview available what kind of projects are running on Tron? They are probably miles away from the others. I wonder why would somebody pick trop over BSC? Can anyone explain?
26  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Ethereum May Surpass Bitcoin’s Market Cap in the Next 10 Years on: June 19, 2021, 11:42:32 PM
I don't see bitcoin showing any signs of breaking down or slowing down such that Ethereum would surpass it so easily???

Lets remember that the  limited supply of bitcoin makes btc super precious and valuable and it's value will go up with time and by the way I hate we have the pandemic but should it end or continue people would be more inclined to use digital channels for thie financial use and maybe stash some of their monies in crypto to avoid governments prying eyes and all this means btc will be bullish and price will go up ,so will its market cap.

If Ethereum scales strongly and maybe even more than most investors expected, I think it is not impossible. Out of a sudden all applications would have the perfect platform to go to and that might drive the price up a lot. When full POS is rolled out with more scalability solutions and there is an ever-growing need for gas it is very attractive for investors to hold onto Ethereum.
the fight between coins at around 2nd rank to 5th rank by market cap is so fierce, i think in the future instead of all the demand relating to smart contracts getting centralized in eth thus increasing its market cap due to price increase, the market cap will be further divided into various coins, many people switching from eth to ADA also BSC in my opinion it's still hard for ETH to grow its market cap pursuing btc in the future.
time will tell us whether cardano will be such a huge threat to eth or not because it's the one that i think got regularly shilled by many so called crypto influencers.

I am not so sure about that. Staking could become very attractive if it is fully rolled out. Right now the bottle neck for Ethereum is beyond doubt its salability. There is uncertainty in how far the developers will be able to solve that problem.

28  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Sell Altcoins on: June 17, 2021, 02:55:46 PM
Hi guys,

a question which i had discussed with some of my friends before:

If you were invested heavy in alts but rather light in btc lets say 30% BTC / 70% alts you made a good profit in dollar.
BUT i have the feeling i wasted so much BTC to buy Alts and right now BTC has surpassed many of them by far.

Do you think it would be wise to sell some Alts for BTC right now?
Or is BTC dominance to high?

Really interested in your thoughts!

Kind regards.
You already have with your result .I think we have seen a good alt move in the recent past and you got enough profit from this time .If its not you don't need to be panicked right at the moment and don't sell your alt on low price .You didn't mentioned which coins you have invested if it is the top coin then really fine but if it is shitcoin then you have lost enough .However you still may go with btc hop you will have a great future .

Does this mean that you are generally saying that alt prices are low right now? Which alt coin is low in your opinion in specific? For me it looks like insane prices for almost all alt coins if you look at it from a realistic market perspective. Compare some of the alt coins to real companies producing products and see what their value is. Not that easy to say that alt coins are cheap right now.
29  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⚽UEFA EURO 2020 Discussion Thread | Current Phase: Finals in June 2021! on: June 17, 2021, 02:41:51 PM
Are De Bruyne and Witsel playing today? Odds on Belgium are really attractive but I'll wait for the lineup before deciding what to bet on. Handicap win has really good odds, but if Belgium is without both De Bruyne and Witsel, I'd be tempted to go for a draw.
Don't care much if Witsel is playing, I feel like they can replace him without much problems. Even without De Bruyne, Belgium should have more than enough fire power to win against Denmark without Eriksen. I am not expecting him to start the match even if he is ready. Belgium can allow themselves to play it safe and keep him for knockout rounds. Maybe just give him last 20 minutes to feel the pitch and atmosphere.

Indeed. Belgium has so many talented players that Witsel and DeBruyne can be replaced and the difference won't be so big between the players.

But until then , do you guys see how great Ukraine is playing ? It was no coincidence that they scored twice against Belgium because they already have 2-0 against North Macedonia and I think they will score 2 more.

Belgium has had a large number of very good players for such a small country for years. It's not for nothing that people talk about the golden generation. But so far this golden generation has not won anything and for many this tournament is the last chance. There are some players coming up but the question remains if they will be as good as DeBruyne and other current top players.

Yes this impresses me a lot, it is a lucky generation. Belgium is a littler bigger in terms of population than Greece, it would be another great surprise by a dwarf to get to win an international championship in soccer. Belgium can do it for sure though, they aren't easy to beat at all.

Good news fo the Belgium national team: Kevin De Bruyne recovers after the hard blow suffered against Chelsea in Champions League and will be regularly available for Euro 2020. This was announced by coach Roberto Martinez in a press conference:
Quote
Obviously it's fantastic news. He looks ready, his entrance in the dining room was a nice moment: he is already in the mental state of the team. He reacted very well to Saturday's operation, he still needs a few days but he's fine. When we have the green light, we will integrate him into the group.
De Bruyne is a top player, one of those that can usually make a difference and I bet Martinez is happy about having him back.

Oh absolutely, if De Bruyne would miss the group stage that would be a real loss for the team. He is such a flexible player. That guy is running like a horse all over the field. I wish Eden Hazard could play his best and stay alright during this tournament. He is so much fun to watch but injured all the time or he can't deliver the way he used to. Good though he is with the team and maybe it is a kind of resurrection for him.
32  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Bitcoin Cash (BCH) Price Prediction on: June 08, 2021, 01:27:25 AM
close to 0$.

Who needs "a little faster BTC" if we have instant TRON, BSC, NANO and thousands of others? Who the hell ... ever ... used BCH for day-to-day payments? No one accepts it. I pay in crypto almost every day. For day to day payments we use stable coins (to avoid calculating back and forward how much is xx$) together with fast chains (so BEP20 BUSD or TRC-20 USDT). I have never received a proposition for BCH payment. So BCH is useless as store of value AKA digital gold (to compete with BTC) - is not as secured - has 50 times lower hashrate and is too slow, volatile and illiquid to compete with others for day-to-day payments. All it has is "bitcoin" in name.

What company accept BCH? Pornhub is the only one - my friend told me XD Even dogecoin has better adoption than BCH as day-to-day payment method.

Bitcoin Cash is far superior than Dogecoin with a block size of 32mb. It can handle large transaction throughput with ease. But for some reason, people are using Dogecoin more than Bitcoin Cash. Of course, NANO, TRON and BSC are much faster and cheaper to use than BCH. But they're highly centralized, defeating the purpose of crypto/Blockchain tech. If you compare Bitcoin Cash versus other coins, you notice that it's one of the most decentralized cryptocurrencies on the market (besides Bitcoin and Ethereum). It's Bitcoin with on-chain scalability, making it perfect as both a store of value and digital cash.

Nonetheless, no one knows how much Bitcoin Cash will be worth in the future. It could go all the way to the moon or down the drain in an instant. The same applies to Bitcoin and any other cryptocurrency on the market. Everything will depend on mainstream adoption for a cryptocurrency to succeed in the long term. One thing for sure is that Bitcoin Cash has seen an increase in mainstream adoption. But it's far behind Bitcoin and some other altcoins on the market. I believe that $1k per BCH would be a more realistic goal within the next 2-3 years. That is if BCH is still alive and actively traded on the market. With or without Bitcoin Cash in play, the original Bitcoin (BTC) will remain as the "King of Crypto" for the foreseeable future. Just my opinion Smiley

I second this. Think about Roger Ver whatever you want and actually he doesn't even matter in the slightest when you calculate your transaction fee right? When I transact between exchanges I quite often use Bitcoin Cash because, let's face it it is dirt cheap. However, the block times can still be annoying. XRP to hop back and forth between exchanges is also a good and cheap option and it is faster than BCH.
33  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: What do you think about TRX to DOGE on: June 08, 2021, 01:22:56 AM
For me, I never get interested in DOGE as I know it's a meme coin and it rises only due to hype, Elon's hype is gone, then DOGE should not prosper. This is a ticking bomb, any time it will explode and collapse, so we have to be careful with that. I suggest investing more in TRON than on DOGE.
You cannot undermine Doge simply because it is a meme coin, they have sponsored sporting events and rallies in the past and you cannot find any other tokens or coins that was able to achieve that in the past or in the present situation. Despite all these i did not expect the price to rally like this and i will never suggest to invest after the rally started, TRON has the potential and so does ADA and several other projects in the market.

Good point. Disregarding it because it is a meme coin doesn't make sense. But what you would not want is a pump and dump billionaire dominated meme coin surpass Bitcoin for a day or two just for the laughs because that will certainly end in a blood bath afterwards for many people who can't afford such a blood bath.
34  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Be a Responsible Gambler on: June 08, 2021, 01:20:34 AM
Gambling is just for entertainment. You can not think that gambling can be the way to make money because it is hard to make money from winning games. Besides that, if you want to win the gambling games, you need to have luck. But some people out there will have their chance to win because they have luck. As long as you can know how to become a responsible gambler, you can enjoy the game, and who knows, you can also win the game. But do not even think to chase the winning because that will not easy.

That's true and for example even if you look at the best poker players out there, the big names from a decade ago, I was surprised to find out that many of them (or at least some) are broke today. A losing streak or I don't know, maybe overspending and wrong lifestyle, just lost their minds or so. It is tough to stay healthy in your mind if you didn't earn the money with hard work in the physical sense. I know some will now say Poker can be hard, yet it can, but tell that a guy who works in a coal mine.

40  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: All in ETH now? on: April 30, 2021, 01:36:59 PM
Ethereum was extremely cheap versus bitcoin. I was already expecting this rise. I think etehereum will be more valuable over the next few months.
I think you have to hold yourself back, there is an issue saying that when eth 2.0 release then eth prices will go down...
I think Ethereum is currently on the right track even though the gas fees are high but the transactions are still very large. if you want a safe one then bnb is the best alternative to bitcoin at this time.

Ethereum extremely cheap is not the reality. The market cap isn't that far away from that of Bitcoin if you look at it from that perspective.
