21  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Halvening! Can I buy Bitcoins at this high price? on: June 29, 2016, 03:35:37 PM
I agree with P52 but did think you should have been excluded. I was actually going to reply to you with something similar until I saw his reply.

Everyone who has replied to this thread so far deserves to get banned

What are you talking about?
22  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What to do with 1,5 BTC? on: June 27, 2016, 03:21:55 PM
Yes, I know that, really. But who knows they may come back, even under a new name, like HashOceans or something and then many of these same same people could, and would, jump right back in, really.

I hear Hashocean may be a good place to start.

Naw man. Hashocean disappeared last night.

24  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why arnt we seeing more bitcoin ATM popping up? on: June 25, 2016, 11:49:33 PM
Right now, with BTC at $660, LocalBitcoin is at about $690 to buy. So that is about 5%.

Just did a search for BTC ATM for this city, one of the top 10 in the US. Found 6 BTC ATM. All have about a 7% fee to buy, except for 1 which is 10%, and 5% to sell. One has 0% to sell.

This compares pretty evenly to most Local Bitcoin dealers though does it not? Or what's the mark up in your area that people sell at for cash?

Good point. But (?), i am thinking today, now. I know of nothing I need now or want to buy now that I can use BTC to buy.

I do not agree with the the assumption you would profit from being paid in BTC. Some times, some weeks, some months, yes, others no.

No. Then I would have to go through the trouble of converting it. I sure would not be able to use it for living expenses.

i think you would have to do that if you actually use bitcoin more and shop with bitcoins instead of fiat

i would like to receive my salary in bitcoins in order to have an investment in bitcoins because it would bring me profit

How does their business model work? How do they generate the 3% interest? Are they simple Ponzi schemes?

If they are giving 3% daily, peoples BTC are doubling every 24 days. That is not happening.
29  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How do we get sex workers to use bitcoin? on: February 06, 2016, 03:47:58 PM
Why don't you try this...

wait until you are done and then tell her you want to pay her in virtual electronic currency which was invented by someone who wants to remain anonymous. Tell her she can create an electronic wallet online and you'll electronically transfer your virtual bitcoins into her account but she should wait for a few confirmations and that could take 10 minutes. After waiting for the confirmations, she can convert the money into dollars by going to an online exchange, moving money into it, providing some documentation and then waiting a week or maybe two. Tell her that the fee for converting her money to dollars isn't a big deal. She will need to give them her bank account information.

Hearing all that, she will likely call her pimp.

Then you have a chance to educate a second person about bitcoin!

If you are lucky, you will end up in the hospital with moderate to severe injuries. There you have the chance to educate even more people on bitcoin, the trauma nurse and the police. Explain the virtues of pseudo-anonymous transactions and how the dollar will be worthless in the future because of the Fed.

Excellent post. Now for laughs you should go find some of the threads that talk up how simple and convenient it is to use BTC especially compared to all the other methods of monetary exchange.
30  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: paypal or bitcoin? on: January 25, 2016, 08:45:04 PM
IBTC , cause BTC is much much easier <snip> to use.

That is joke, right? Otherwise explain how BTC is EASIER to use.
31  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Paypal is growing faster than Bitcoin on: January 23, 2016, 10:10:28 PM
There's another topic comparing the 2: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1260666.0
 So I'm asking why?

Quite simple. Bitcoin just can not be understood and handled by the average person. I understand it. I'd say 99% of the people I know could not understand it, setup a wallet, fund that wallet, spend from that wallet and not lose that wallet.
It is as simple as that.
32  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin user adoption is horrible - here is why: on: December 18, 2015, 04:48:57 AM
I too agree that these are too many steps between being thirsty and having a coffee. But if we don't go through this, we probably won't have sellers/retailers accepting Bitcoin soon... So this is a necessary evil, I think.

... it is easier to purchase goods or make a donation over the web using bitcoin than any other method of payment and it's less risky, too....

Ha, no way is any of that true. Nope, not, NO.
33  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: This Might Sounds Strange: Bitcoin Violates the Principle of Money Fungibility on: October 20, 2015, 11:01:46 PM
I do not get it. All Bitcoin are valued the same, only that some people pay more for it.

Same happens with dollars or other currency when you buy it in another country. You can pay more or less depending or the trading shop you use, the bank you use, etc.

And to expand on your point, I think. In some parts of the world older generation of US $100 bills are considered less valuable than the latest, newest US $100 bills.
34  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Wells Fargo closed all my accounts simply for having a Bitcoin business on: August 22, 2014, 04:22:21 PM

And to be clear, no one deposited to the account besides me. I didn't write any checks either. I was honestly barely using the account.

You really have no clue as to why they closed your accounts. I think the answer is in the above quote from your OP.

35  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: 0.2 FEE!!!! ? am i missing something? on: August 06, 2014, 11:23:46 PM

I appreciate your help, but that does not help me get his contact info. and if it does i don't know how to find it

If you can't take the info in that post, along with all the advice given in this thread and find something as simple as contact info then you really should not be involved in BTC, be on the internet or even a computer connected to the internet.

36  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: This is Decentralized power! Facebook down while bitcoin up strong! on: August 01, 2014, 05:33:27 PM

Someone didn't read the OP... "down" as in "downtime" not "down" as in "price fluctuations"

I too missed that part, I also thought down in price, it is near all time price highs.

On that note let me add this. What does the OP think will happen to BTC if and when the internet is down?

There was even a very recent thread in this forum on that exact topic.

OH, by the way I have not noticed facebook down.

37  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: No matter how much we love BTC, confirmations take way too long! on: July 28, 2014, 04:01:07 PM

We don't need any company like Visa or Mastercard. We're trying to get away from those type of companies. And like the user above says we already have services like Bitpay that cover these transactions so its irrelevant.

How about you not worry about this "any company" so that others MAY use that service IF they desire? Nobody said you must use it.

38  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The best Bitcoin cold storage? on: July 26, 2014, 04:02:44 PM

- You can seal them with some varnish and know when they were tampered with.

I recently saw a suggestion to use sparkle/glitter nail polish to seal something. Each dab drys unique. You can tell if it has been tampered with or even take a picture to see if it is the original dab.
39  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why soon the time is coming to get out of fiat and into Bitcoin. on: July 22, 2014, 07:37:22 PM
Clearly it was the Ukraine backed by the US that shot down the passenger jet.

Clearly the preponderance of the evidence DOES NOT support that claim.

Um.
