21  Economy / Gambling / Re: TheCoins.net - Provably fair Minesweeper, Dice, Spin to Win! Unlimited faucet on: March 12, 2015, 10:18:35 AM
it's a very nice and well-designed site. I'll probably deposit some coins and try my luck later.

Probably not a good idea IMO.
Apart from DanilaKor's issue above, there are at least 2 outstanding scam accusations against the site (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=932116.0 and https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=954606.0). Also, OP isn't active here as well.

Good day sir,

Both of those 'accusations' have clearly been resolved - you could have at least taken the time to read through the threads.

The TX id sent by the accusing user DanilaKor https://blockchain.info/tx/b4de4d7d8a4e6336f9ca08234a013e3ec2eb9800211139a7c956ed34e4c2b57e does not actually reference the amount he mentioned? Nor did I receive those funds in our wallet. If I get some actual, legitimate evidence of a transfer to our actual wallet I can look into it - I obviously can't credit user accounts at random just because they throw out wild accusations. We have not had a single user that hasn't been paid out!

Kind regards,
TheCoins.net Support

My disappearing deposit still hasn't been resolved. It was a small deposit, but still bullshit considering that I am the one that sent a proof of concept of the minesweeper exploit. Never got a reply from the admin.

Hi Paradoxal,

Sorry about that - we are new owners and inherited a lot of these outstanding problems from the team that started the site. Please PM me with a wallet address you would like the funds sent to,

Kind regards,
TheCoins.net Support

Yeah I assumed that was what happened. At least they sold it to someone who will actually resolve the issues.

Thanks for the quick response and taking care of it. Sending a PM now.

23  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: [Tool] Open 8333 port on NAT devices on: March 11, 2015, 01:29:19 AM
Huh What is the purpose of this tool? All it does is use UPnP to tell the router to forward port 8333, which is completely useless since Bitcoin Core automatically does this already. If Bitcoin Core can't forward the port by itself (usually because the router doesn't support UPnP), neither can your tool.

I was thinking this earlier today when I read it... lol. Even if your router doesn't support UPnP it takes less than 5 seconds to port forward.
24  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: finding Bitcoin address in a MYSQL text column on: March 11, 2015, 01:20:46 AM
I have a string of data in my mysql database column - I am using PHP - I want to search my db in a column and see if there are any Bitcoin addresses in the field. -

$test1 "1Dxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx";
preg_match("/^[13][a-km-zA-HJ-NP-Z0-9]{25,34}$/", $test2, $matches)
This works if the address is at the beginning - how about if it somewhere else in the field?

 Huh $test1 = "my bit coin address is 1Dxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx can you help me";

so how do I extract thee address form this field? - Thanks

Try this instead:

Code:
/[13][a-km-zA-HJ-NP-Z0-9]{26,33}/

dec 101 in base4 would be 1211. Is 000001211 the answer?
hex 101 in base2 would be 100000001. That's a wrong answer.
dec 100000001 in base8 would be 575360401. is 575360401 the answer?

33  Economy / Gambling / Re: DaDice.com - Next Generation Social Gambling Dice Experience on: March 04, 2015, 11:12:05 AM
Socket Connection Failed. some features will not function!

How to solve this?

I have the same issue it was brought up in the past and apparently is an connection problem on the client site. Maybe the error could be presented in less drastic way?

Nitpicking:

#1 I cant edit the amount, I have to enter it completely. After a full refresh of the page (ctrl + f5) the amount to gamble is greyish and can not be edited.

I first have to enter an amount to play with and afterwards I can edit the amount. This could easily result in an 1 BTC bet instead of 1 satoshi.

#2 when I win the amount won is shown higher as I would expect. I would expect it to show + 1 satoshi and not 2 satoshi on a 2x bet. I understand that I "give away" 1 satoshi before I roll and get two back, but due to the speed off online dice this looks odd to me. This is especially true IMHO with a high chance to win.

#3 I cant "preroll". I know that prerolling is a gambler's fallacy as it does not change anything, but 0 satoshi bets should still be possible, instead I get the "Please enter bet amount." message

#4 missing stats on the site
- overal bankroll / invested
- the profit for investors
- # bets
- amount wagered
- amount won by players
- possibly more
- similar stats for the individual player found them, maybe add an additional link to the same window under "account" on the left site.

#5 invest all button

#6 when trying to invest 20 satoshi I get the message -> "Please enter an amount to invest." You probably have some sort of minimal amount that can be invested. The message should probably reflect that.

#7 I could not find a way to verify the rolls. Since you provide the code I might write a ruby script when I have time, but IMHO there should be links to 3rd party verifiers. I understand you cant link to something that does not exist, but maybe you could provide this yourself for the time beeing.

Code:
hmac-sha512(server_seed, client_seed-nonce)

Really appreciate your post!

Most of your recommendations are already on our to-do list and will be implemented during the next few days. Recommendation #1 however was not and is now on top of the list.

Thank you very much!

I never had the #1 issue. I think it's a browser issue maybe?

One thing I completely agree with is #7.
It would be nice if you at least showed the server side function for generating rolls so it could be ported to a different language.

It's difficult translating a paragraph to code. I completely matched everything the paragraph says but it's still outputting incorrect roll outcomes.

site doesn't work well and  Undecided try to solve so that people can play without fear
You can say the same about their signatures campaign at this moment. People are wondering when things will be sorted out in that topic.

yep, no funds on escrow and yet many already registered and changed their signature there  Roll Eyes Roll Eyes basically free advertisement for dadice, i wonder if they are really legit and will hold that massive sig campaign  Roll Eyes

If you don't trust it then don't do it, it's as simple as that.

All gambling sites pay dust for advertising compared to what advertising networks pay content publishers.
If you sell your soul for a few dollars, who's fault is that?

I think this sites team is pretty good. The devs/staff are actually in the chat and talking to the users... Something that rarely happens on even the biggest gambling sites.

Have some patience guys this site is brand new, when has a new site been completely functional?
Even old, trust-able sites like Primedice STILL have a lot of issues lol.
39  Economy / Games and rounds / Re: 1BTC - Bitcoin Treasure Hunt - Can you crack the code? on: February 28, 2015, 05:55:10 PM
Let me take a crack at this. Does this have to do with Rule 110 because it is considered Turing complete?

is the passcode 000100110 or 000111100?

brilliant approach, a bit to easy though don't you think Wink
Hey it was worth a try.  Grin
