21  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][SYNC]X11 | POS| 1,000 Coins| Mandatory Update on: May 24, 2014, 01:07:59 AM
When I came into this coin. I knew it was only 1%. That is not the reason I came in.

Those thinking about selling, are you seriously saying you came into this coin because of the 1% staking? LOL

I will be holding and waiting for the panic buys later to capitalize. Just keep mining at the multipool, give the devs some time it's in their interest to get everything running smoothly. Reporting and asking reasonable questions is fine, but let's just all be patient adults. Remember, WE have a big say in what the coin becomes.

I am sure it's anyone in the IT inducstry knows, you cannot predict everything that will happen. The dev can't sit here and answer every question repeatedly. I am going ot wait for block 8200, I will wait for the flavoured wallet which josh already told us he is working on. He is having well deserved sleep/rest now.

See you guys on the other side of 5BTC  Cool

If people don't stake, blocks don't get processed, and transactions cannot take place. Staking replaces the role filled by miners in a Proof of Work coin.

So it's not about the one percent return, it's about the fact that if people cannot stake, THE COIN DOESNT WORK.

Good luck on hitting 5btc with a coin where you cant send or receive transactions.

This is WhiteCoin all over again.

Because staking is the only thing securing your network, and processing blocks and therefore transactions???

Do you even understand how the fuck PoS works?! Jesus Christ.

Are you trying to tell me that all other altcoins without PoS are insecure?

Those use POW or proof of work, Like bitcoin. POS coins like this one rely on staking instead, so its *very fucking important* that it works. Seriously, can't believe this needs to be explained.

If you can only stake with a minimum of 1 Sync... My God. Good luck processing blocks when only the top 100 richlist can stake. Oh and, yes, the security is basically nonexistent, because your coin is now in the exclusive hands of those lucky enough now and in the future to have 1Sync.

If your distribution goes according to any rational market mechanism, there are going to be less of those people every day. What a clusterfuck.

Luckily, I don't actually think you need 1 Sync to stake, and it should work on any amount. However, the dev seems ignorant of how his own system actually works. Which implies to me that he never wrote the thing at all and just lifted it from somewhere else.

This PoS, even if it works, is 1% / year!  YOU KNOW? ONE PERCENT / YEAR only!

Why the fuck should we take it in consideration?

Did the Dev just say you had to buy more coins to be able to stake? What the fuck? That's complete garbage!

This guy doesn't even understand how PoS works on a basic elementary level, and he's the DEVELOPER?

This is starting to sound like a joke. That Anon code is never coming if this dingus is responsible for implementing it. Although I feel this coin is just a copy/paste job of another X11 Pow to PoS coin just with the available coins tweaked to 1000.

It's obvious it's never even been run on a testnet, which would have uncovered the POW to POS issues and the staking. The dev himself doesn't seem to have a familiarity with the coin mechanics he obviously copied from elsewhere.

I know this is tough to hear, but don't get stuck with this. The red flags are going up everywhere.
25  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][SYNC]X11 | POS| 1,000 Coins| Mandatory Update on: May 23, 2014, 07:02:16 PM
There's only 4btc worth of BUY's in the order book at mint for this coin. One sell could take this to zero.

Market depth for this coin is nonexistent. Nobody has any interest in picking up these 'cheap coins.'

are you some Kind of stupid or only blind ?
at mintpal are more than 9 btc alone in the range of 0.35 - 0.39

my advice for you: go playing with poison berrys

Are you confusing SELLS with BUYS? Perhaps it is you who needs to learn how to read a simple chart.

Thanks for telling me to kill myself too, for posting a simple fact. Well, good luck.

Wait for good buy time ~ Wink

i shouldn't if I were you.. we've already hit the bottom.

I agree 0.4 is the lowest you will likely see. Look at the market cap how low it is and then look at the community,
hashrate, dev, mintpal listing, volume... and on and on.

Once the last of the weak hands sell their coins in the next day or so there will be no reason not to hit 1.5-2 BTC in short order.
Probably this weekend. Already been at nearly those prices even with mining going on. Was over 1 BTC even 36 hours ago with full
on mining still going and 20% more coins per day. Amazing.

So now that mining is over.. price is free to climb once it feels safe to do so.

I am ready to buy a nice stack once I see the price start to move freely up.
Actually I see no resistance at all between 0.4-0.6 still on Bittrex and Mintpal.

There is only 0.38 BTC in sell walls to 0.61 on Bittrex. What does that tell you Smiley ?

Conversely, the entire order book of buys on mint could be cleaned out sending you to essentially 0 with around 10BTC worth of coins. This coin has less trading depth than a puddle.
I would seriously, SERIOUSLY council people to take this into consideration when making risk assessments about investing.

There is no depth at all. Huge exposure. The price is not an accurate indicator anymore, because the market can barely absorb anything without massive swings in either direction.

This isn't FUD, it's simple due diligence.
28  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][SYNC]X11 | POS| 1,000 Coins| 1 day mining left| NOW ON MINTPAL on: May 22, 2014, 12:46:33 PM
You guys have got to do some serious buying right now otherwise this party is going to be over before it starts. Buy support isn't going to remain if it keeps being dumped into, and let sells determine the price. This multipool window dressing right now. Get out there and start expanding your wads.
29  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][SYNC]X11 | POS| 1,000 Coins| 1 day mining left| NOW ON MINTPAL on: May 22, 2014, 10:48:45 AM

Seriously. Anything under 1 BTC is truly cheap. This is the floor of the floor.

How long was this coin on mintpal? Only 1 day or so ? as i can't see a longer period graph
Also can somebody explain why the red line at the start ? from 3 to 0.x ?

As the price on bittrex  was nowhere near that at the moment?
This thing looks interesting to buy in but this whole price thingy is a mess right now , or at least i see it like this.

It's only been listed for a few hours. The red line at the start is just some garbage when they first list currencies. Somebody probably put in a pre-emtive bid for a tiny volume at a 3btc price straight after the listing came online and before the asks filled up. It happens a lot. I've seen smartasses putting in bids for "1337." It's just the market equivalent of 'first post!"
30  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: GAW Miners (Scrypt ASIC seller) independent feedback thread on: May 14, 2014, 05:21:05 PM
I've initiated a return of my hosted blade and asked for a refund back to the credit card that I used to order it. I'm just done with the worry and screwing around. I've had some decent responses to the support tickets, but it seems I need to put in a new one at least twice a day. None of the technical upgrades they have talked about adding have done anything to offer any consistent uptime.

They talk about how they were a hosting company prior to this, well, no regular hosting company could get away with this downtime and still expect customers so not sure why they should.

It's a shame, I was really excited about this purchase.

So, my blade is down again. Great.

Listen...we are way beyond this BS of trying to convince the community. You do not get...stop fucking posting IRC chat logs, I do not care. I am telling you that no matter how many times you post it wasn't you....I am still focusing on YOU...period.

You're an obsessive sociopath.

why are you on a defensive...something to hide ?

Yeah, providing you with easily verifiable info is 'defensive' and indicates I have 'something to hide.'

Does the twisted logic and rhetorical leaps you guys engage in know no reasonable bounds?

I give up, there's no point conversing with trolls. You have nothing to offer the conversation other than FUD and innuendo.

wow you must be either way:

1- a very important crypto persona or
2- have a very wealthy accounts

for both major exchanges to know your accounts personally...

Jay shows up frequently in many IRC channels where members of the crypto community congregate. His nick is <MintpalJay>. He's a widely known figure, and easy to converse with if you have an issue, no matter what ammount your holding is.

Just like BigVern and John frequently pop up in the Cryptsy trollbox and deal with account issues directly from time to time if asked.

Also, the multipool is obviously a big volume customer, so it would make sense to hammer things out with the exchange operators. Without prior contact, most exchanges (cryptsy and mintpal) don't allow more than 5 withdraws an hour without prior consultation.

Your 'revelation' here just shows how laughably ignorant and grasping at straws your attacks are.

If you kids in IRC and the DOGE don't step down and let others take over, or matter fact, nobody take over, no foundation. We can all benifit from this coin and move forward. Now, choice is yours. IE outlined a very good plan of action, and I 100% support that plan.

Time to clean house.

All they have done is work tirelessly to create usable infrastructure around the coin to serve those involved in BC. They have put together an effective and innovative multipool (increasingly copied, but never bested) that has benefitted many, developed and continue to maintain the website, funded prizes and bounties for further development and spearheaded coinkite intergration (with significant funds from their own pockets) and developed ongoing strategies for promoting the coin including funding a PR campaign.

Nobody is 'taking over' anything. BC belongs to nobody. If you are not happy with some kind of formalisation of an independent 'foundation' you are welcome not to take part, withhold any donations or investments or start your own.

Demanding people 'step down' from something they have had the initiative to create smacks of simply demanding people bend to your singular wishes. Well no. People can self organise and do whatever they want. That is the essence of 'community.'

There is nothing stopping you from coming up with your own ideas and implementing them or spearheading investment in infrastructure. Unfortunately... All I hear from you is hollow criticism, baseless and frankly nasty accusations which you continue to decline to substantiate, and little else.

If you want to fund and support IE, please do. However, after his increasingly erratic outbursts and attacks, he won't be getting any more of my money even though I supported his initiatives in the past. I have no compunction to support somebody so wilfully divisive due to some ridiculous perceived 'slight' he insists on consistently blowing out of proportion and who now devotes his energies into merely attacking others with differing (not opposing) ideas.

Hopefully this pointless backbiting and nastiness can come to an end. It's frankly embarrassing some of the silly accusations being thrown around, and any reasonable person would see them as such.
38  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] BlackCoin (BC) | PoS | No premine | No IPO on: May 07, 2014, 04:02:27 AM
Sigh. More FUD from you barabbas, and smears backed by nothing any more than your nebulous 'feelings' on the matter.

You 'bet?' well good for you. You're no better than Iconic or anyone else spreading FUD based on innuendo, character attacks and a lack of any actual, verifiable evidence. No matter how many times people counter your garbage with material evidence to the contrary, you continue to make posts backed by nothing more than your than your own spurious assumptions.

barabbas, I bestow upon you the 'Glenn Beck' award for 'truthiness.'

Bluster, conjecture and unfounded 'theories' seem to be your stock in trade. It's amazing you can talk so much, yet provide so little of substance for your claims.

Please, continue to offer your tinfoil 'theories,' everybody else is getting back to real work and actually making positive things happen.

They flooded the forum to try and suppress the message. What innocent person does that?

Right. So you pop up with a bunch of wild, paranoid accusations you have refused to substantiate in any way, and when people predictably take umbrage to these ugly smears you indicate this is somehow evidence of their guilt.

What a laugh. You cashed your last cheque here Iconic.

I feel like a complete moron for ever purchasing one of your cards, and thus inadvertently supporting such a pathologically manipulative and disruptive narcissist.

Well, perhaps with this revealing post of unmitigated insanity from IconicExpert, we can all move on to more productive things once again.

Back to business everyone. No need to pay any more attention to the troll.
