21  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] [ASIC-RESISTANT] UltraCoin (UTC) - Ultrafast 6 second transactions!! on: June 23, 2014, 06:05:08 PM
Without sounding downhearted - we need to attract buyers and new investors. Miners will always dump so to lift the price higher we need more buyers & traders. To do this the obvious thing is to make UTC aware to these buyers. To do this where do you go? . . . the place they buy altcoins!!!

So if ANY of you have a spare 5 minutes just hop along to the cryptsy chat box and educate buyers on UTC.  I'm baffled no other altcoin community members do it. Each day there are new members joining and wanting to know "the next big coin" There's 100's to pick from, so by making them aware of  UTC at least they will know more about our coin & maybe look out for its price on a daily basis. Without any advertising budget this is one of the only ways we can gain ground on the top 20 coins.

If we do have a small advertising budget can I suggest we advertise on coinmarketcap.com - they have 3 million hits a month and all those hits are our target audience.

Will there be weekly updates on what we have achieved or tried to do in the last 7 days? - give me something to tell people and tweet about!?

Also can the owners of the pools perhaps on the main page have a polite notice stating our target price is 0.003 so ask not so sell UTC so cheap?

I think this has happened so much that its turning people away. I was on cryptsy one day and some started promoting UTC only to be immediately met with "SHUT UP ABOUT UTC ALREADY!"

People have been tweeting about it for months as well, need I remind everyone of the definition of insanity?

What has worked? Wallet updates, new features, and pumps, but I've never seen anything but annoyance when people spam about UTC. I'm thinking its starting to give it a bad reputation.

Just my 2 cents.

can I ask for your ideas and what your doing other than reading this forum daily 'hoping' the price goes up without actually doing anything. Be more proactive. Without a budget how else do you expect to attract buyers without telling them whats on offer!!  - your just trying to shoot down someone willing to help! I'm donating 3 hours a day helping UTC. I can see why DCGirl left now - you help and all you get back is criticism. Maybe I should move to another community willing to take someone who donates so much time. And in the process take my 2000 twitter followers and sell my 220k UTC

Easy there tiger.

I work between 75-85 hours a week and have a family. I don't have a twitter account and don't have time to use any of the other social media stuff for my own personal uses. I have invested quite a bit into this as well, I have a bag of similar size that I bought. THAT was my contribution. Thanks for what you're doing, but don't expect everyone to have so much spare time to as you do.

Before you think I'm just trying to criticize, I'm recommending that we re-evaluate our methods. I haven't seen any movement whatsoever from spamming UTC via trollboxes or twitter myself, why in the hell would I donate what little time I have with my family to do something that obviously doesn't work? What have I done to help? I've gradually invested more BTC into the exchanges (you see those bumps on the long term graphs?) and GUESS WHAT? Volume went up in addition to my own, the price went up, and everyone got excited. People want to invest in something they see moving up to get short term profits. They're the easiest traders to pull in. You just have to keep the momentum going as some start to cash out. After that initial group cashes out, long term investors can be persuaded to buy in should the price continue to rise.

We need a runaway reaction to start off of a price increase like that if we want this to go anywhere. A piece of good news or an update or something new generally goes a long way.

Anyone here want to surmise a guess as to why BTCe Admin hates DOGE? Could it be for all the spamming? Hmmm...

yes! and respond to all kinds of other threads with the UTC signature under your name  Wink

Bumface and others.. forgive me my noobness..
But if i want to paste the sites in my signature in my profile settings,i can only paste the upper one of the three sites, somehow the others 2 get erased within a second.. What am i doing wrong?

Also if i try to paste them one by one, i can only paste one. if i want to paste another one under or next to the one already pasted, it gets erased within a second...

i have 8 spaces between 1 and 2, and then the same on the next line

thx for the answer.. but it still doesnt work..

Pretty sure it's because we have noob level accounts. I can't either.

Guys, i just got word that dcgirl is getting nasty PM`s from some people ....although we had our disagreements this is not acceptable.

Please stop that, for whom it may concern......
I think it's probably related to her FUDing utc whenever she gets a chance. (It's not me)

What is Proof of Stake?

Code:
20% interest per year if you:

1. Have UTC in wallet
2. Don't spend it during that year
3. Have wallet online all year
4. Have wallet unlocked for minting, do this like so:
    - Open debug window, then console, then type: 'walletpassphrase' yourpassword '999999999' true

In Depth Explanation of POS: https://en.bitcoin.it/wiki/Proof_of_Stake

Where does it ever state that the POS was "under construction"?  It looks like it's spelled out in black and white right on the first page of this thread.
Are you saying that Michael isn't responsible for these changes?  Was/is he the original developer of the coin?  How do we know that this coin will not be manipulated again in the future?
I know these are good intentions, but how did reducing the block reward have a positive effect on the coin?  Show me the evidence that it did anything but drive miners away and volume down.  Those are 2 of the most important things for a coins success.  Knee jerk reactions to the loud voices of a few will not provide a future for this coin going forward.  Constantly changing the path of this coin shows a lack of leadership to steady the course and will destroy the confidence of the loyal supporters.  Unfortunately, we've already lost a good deal of talent and senior members of the alt coin community.  These are the people who have the strongest voices in the chats to whom others look upon for advice, when investing in a coin.

I think at least an apology should be made to the community for the mismanagement of the coin and POS from the start.  This would a least go a long ways towards a positive path forward.
Saying that the POS was "under construction" is dodging the facts and shows a lack of integrity.  Let's get the "facts" out on the table and start with a clean slate.

I think the biggest problem with this coin are people like you who feel everyone should just constantly apologize to them. This is a new team of devs who have ALREADY APOLOGIZED ABOUT POS, after they pointed out that the ORIGINAL DEV team NEVER STATED THAT IT WAS UNDER CONSTRUCTION. Now you ask them where it was stated? THEY TOLD YOU IT WASN'T. Read the friggin' post you're responding to.

They don't owe you a damn thing. The price is already up over 50% since they took over, and it hasn't even been a week yet. If you're not happy with that sort of progress, dump your $5 of UTC and go away.

We've lost good talent and senior members? Well before we did, the prices were at ALL TIME LOWS. I'll take this trade off all day everyday.

g'day y'all
how's the bagholdin' doin'?
I've seen such marvelous 1.25BTC/day on the exchanges that I felt you were very concentrated in not dumping your beloved uTC. hehehe

That's odd. Based on the last 24 hour volume, there hasn't been much more than 1.5BTC traded and they were almost all buys. That means you're either lying, or dumping at the bottom. I'd imagine you're just panicking after dumping your coins from 6k down to 2k at a loss trying to buy back in lower, now that you realized your going to lose a lot of profit because it.

God you're so transparent...
It's a mindless troll. Add it to your ignore list.

GUYS REMEMBER...

IGNORING AND NOT ANSWERING TO TROLL's IS THE BEST THING YOU CAN DO FOR UTC.

IGNORE . IGNORE PLEASE

But, but, but... Sad

I was going to have so much fun with this one...

He's just so bad...

Can you estimate how many UTC do I receive If I use ~70mh/s to mine x11? If I mine @ultrapool with 6 rigs, im gonna receive~ 1700utc/day, but only 1200utc @multipool. Maybe I have to wait for 48hours?

If you are only losing 500UTC in 24 hours whilst mining with x11, you sir are making A LOT of profit...

Like, A LOT. x11 uses ~50% less power than scrypt-jane(chacha). So you are saving a lot on your power bill. But yes, It will take about 3 days for you to start getting an Idea of an average payout figure.

On A side note, I see some previous bag holders are opening their bags since the 3k+ price jump. It's good to see, the coins need to flow in order to increase in value. Cheesy

Yeah, someone is pretty determined to keep the price down. I wonder how much they'll lose before it's all over though.

I forget the math behind it, but the super fast block time of UTC is actually a defense against 51% attacks. I'll have to go find that again, but surely someone else has read that as well?
31  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] [ASIC-RESISTANT] UltraCoin (UTC) - Ultrafast 6 second transactions!! on: June 13, 2014, 12:17:10 PM
You know, once the multipool starts pulling in more than 43,200UTC a day, it would be impossible for the dumpers to keep dumping indefinitely...

what dont you guys understand?

machines cost money, you have to make that money back, thats the whole point of an investment.

i am the only original founder who is actually spending the ipo on utc.all the other guys spent it on God knows what.....

be happy that i am reinvesting it into the coin

how much is some hash?

Before bumface's share in the IPO and assic was to reinvest in utc, he has conveniently forgotten that and now want ROI in BTC  Grin

He's cutting his losses and running, I've just sold my utc an advise others to do likewise. You could have made something out of utc, if you had worked at it, you didn't and asked others to instead  Shocked

Guy's, guy's, guy's....

You are just trolling, attacking and sucking blood and want UTC to fail.
Probably you are just two or three sad trollers with numerous of aliases.

Just some hours ago we had good news there will be a new management/investor team that is getting formed who can make things happen for UTC.

And what are you doing, provoking and blood sucking troll's ? Instead of being positive you can only nag and piss black urine and try to affect everyone negatively.

They don't want it to fail, they want to buy cheap...just like last time when they dumped it to 2k and realized no one was selling at those prices.

I'm in the "BTC was designed to bypass banks" boat. Seems odd to go looking for one now.
35  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: what should I do with 0.20247 bitcoins? on: April 30, 2014, 11:19:19 AM
I'd take that much and invest into alt coins. Not all of it, try buying say at single coin you may think will rise in value and sell it when/if it does for a profit. Once you get some practice/experience gradually increase the amount you buy with it. Turn that 0.2BTC into 2.0BTC. Do some research first though, try to buy coins that haven't pumped up already though. Common mistake newbies make.

Sounds like the coin is going through a tumbler? If that's the case, good luck getting it back.
