21  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: [ANN] Bitcoin Sportsbook, Racebook and Casino - www.btcsportsbetting.com on: July 28, 2011, 11:35:15 PM
We are trying not just make everyone happy but ultimately do the right thing.

The delay with hi's withdrawal today was that we needed to decide what our policy is on withdrawals when there is a rollover requirement that hasn't been satisfied.

Our decision was that all Bitcoins except for the bonus Bitcoins are available for withdrawal after being in action 1x.  The 1x requirement isn't a change and is our House Rule #28.  If there are is an unsatisfied rollover the bonus Bitcoins will remain in the account to be used to satisfy the rollover.  Once the rollover is satisfied the bonus Bitcoins will be available for withdrawal.

We believe that the above policy is better than what is offered at most sportsbooks.

GL BTCsports

I have few questions if you care...
Will you start with affiliate program?
I do not see your lines - why?
Are you backed by some sportsbook (answer YES/NO if name is not possible)?
If NO, what is your experience with sportsbetting/bookmaking?

Will you start with affiliate program? Yes we have one, it is not advertised.

I do not see your lines - why? We have a guest account available for this purpose.  BTCGuest1/guest1

Are you backed by some sportsbook (answer YES/NO if name is not possible)? Yes

We see the legal precedent for gambling for bitcoins as being set, or at least guided, by Zynga and their Zynga Poker.

You can read our position here, http://btcsportsbetting.com/is-it-legal

25  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: We Need Roulette on: July 25, 2011, 04:54:15 PM
Just wanted to let everyone know that we offer Roulette (and over 30 other casino games).

You can request an invite for an account at http://btcsportsbetting.com/requestinvite.htm

We just sent another batch of Free BTC.

Offer is still good for anyone who wants .01 BTC.

We will be processing another batch of invite requests soon.

The maximum amount of players we wanted to initially take on was limited as we didn't want to outpace our ability to process deposits and withdrawals.  We are currently working on making the deposit and withdrawal process automated, which will mean that players will be able to deposit and withdrawal 24/7.

28  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: [ANN] Bitcoin Sportsbook, Racebook and Casino - www.btcsportsbetting.com on: July 24, 2011, 04:01:13 AM
Yes the move of the US players from The Greek to Heritage and the closing of BetJam was an unpleasant surprise.

We would have no problem working with SBR but it is probably a little early in our life-cycle for them to want to get involved.  I can't remember if it was John or Bill but one of them has commented before that Bitcoins were promising so I know they are at the very least aware of Bitcoin.

For the time being all we can do is let our Customer Service and the timeliness of our deposits and withdrawals begin to build our reputation.

If you would like to take advantage of the Metaco.in offer simply sign up using that invite code and disregard the other invite.

There are 1000+ real money players on our platform and we have never had a serious security breach.

We have taken additional steps when dealing with Bitcoin, such as the use of SecureForms which are encrypted, to further enhance our security measures.

This might be the reason:

Quote
Zynga is the only authorized seller of Facebook chips (or MySpace poker chips, etc.) in its games. Everyone else is engaging in fraud and/or breaking various laws.
http://www.zynga.com/about/poker-chips.php

Any buying and selling of the chips is ilegal and thats why they dont care. They are hard to sell. Its not really competition for the dollar.

Just because they put it on their website doesn't make it a fact.

It is neither fraudulent nor illegal to sell Zynga Poker chips, it is simply against their TOS.  Their TOS is "illegal" in that it doesn't comply with the First-Sale Doctrine as it applies to copyrighted material; which basically states that a person who purchases something that is copyrighted has the right to sell, lend or it give away.  Zynga's main offensive weapon against anyone selling Zynga Poker chips on the secondary market is to claim copyright infringment when the first-sale doctrine specifically immunizes a reseller from such liability.

We want to give everyone a chance to take a look at our software and casino offerings so we set up a guest account that can be used to sign in.

You cannot place wagers or play in the casino but you can poke around a bit if you like.

I would argue that it is no different than Zynga Poker.  See http://btcsportsbetting.com/is-it-legal

Sportsbooks have always been the primary target of the DOJ, so it is interesting to me that both of the major bitcoin sportsbooks have no problems taking US money. One that just ignores the regulations, the other is making the argument that it doesn't violate US laws because bitcoin is an internet currency.

Our argument is actually that Bitcoin is neither money nor a currency.  I haven't got much feedback on our Bitcoins = Zynga Poker Chip argument but if anyone would like to read our position you can find it at http://btcsportsbetting.com/is-it-legal.

ssaCEO have you considered that allowing people to bet with Bitcoins may not be illegal under US law as it could be argued that Bitcoins are play money?  Converting them to USD when they are sent to you might invalidate that argument (which is why we don't do that) but I would be interested to know how your company is interpreting the law to disallow US players.
38  Economy / Gambling / Re: MetaCo.in Friday Deal: 20% deposit bonus at btcsportsbetting.com on: July 22, 2011, 08:14:41 PM
geek-trader your invite should be sent within the hour.

Todays Metaco.in deal is a major part of our initial launch.  Our decision to wait until today to process Invite Requests is based on the fact that we thought people would feel slighted if we sent them an invite yesterday and they found out they could get an invite through Metaco.in today and get a 20% bonus on their deposit.

I think you will see when you sign up that the our service is professional and dedicated to serving the Bitcoin community.

We just want to make more people aware of Bitcoins and give a little BTC away so people can become familiar with how they work.  Using Facebook and Twitter is a way to get our name out a little.

We are processing requests between 16:00 UTC - 04:00 UTC if anyone wants a free bitcent.

Your request was received.  The first accounts will be issued within 48 hours.

Yes we do offer wagering on Formula 1.
