21  Economy / Speculation / Re: falling to $470 within hours on: September 17, 2014, 09:41:47 AM
Need new infusion of money. If not, it will keep dropping everyday due to miners selling.
22  Economy / Speculation / Re: Price of mining the cheapest bitcoin on: September 08, 2014, 01:50:20 AM
Most efficient bitcoin miner - Extolabs EX1/ Wolfblood-XE  - 1 GH/s for 0.19 watt

                                                                                             5263 GH/ for 1 kilowatt

Cheapest Electricity in USA/Europe/Russia/China (avg)     - 0.08 USD/kWh

Estimated time to generate 1 BTC                                    - 10.36 days (with the current difficulty)

Energy cost = 10.36 X 24 X 0.08 = 19.9 USD !!!
Hardware depreciation cost is a large factor on why so many amateurs miners lost a great deal of money on mining.

If they use the same amount of money to buy coin directly, risk is about same but they get more benefit from rising value of btc.
23  Economy / Speculation / Re: Why do you have bitcoins and what is your strategy? on: September 08, 2014, 01:46:35 AM
Not holding anymore bitcoin.

Seems like the high price of btc has attracted a lot of people who have no ideal what they are doing. Plus, the bubble of altcoins and eventual busting of altcoins make me bearish on the outlook of btc.
24  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Top US Colleges Begin Offering Bitcoin Courses on: September 06, 2014, 04:56:42 AM
Two top-ranked US universities, New York University and Duke University, are offering courses on cryptocurrencies for the first time.

Professor Geoffrey Miller taught the first class of NYU’s new course, The Law and Business of Bitcoin and Other Cryptocurrencies, yesterday. 35 students attended the session – the first in a series of 14 – which covered the fundamentals of money.

http://www.coindesk.com/top-us-colleges-begin-offering-bitcoin-courses/

As soon bitcoin will get an institutional integration it will be accepted by the society.

Won't be too long before they offer a major in cryptocurrency.

A course in how to market and operate pump and dump scheme will be useful also.
25  Economy / Speculation / Re: POLL: Do you still expect a big rally in the next 56 days? on: September 06, 2014, 04:51:22 AM
Expecting continue sell off on every small to mini rally.

Don't forget Ethereum developers still control over 25k of BTC. They are going to cash them out eventually for payday.
26  Economy / Speculation / Re: bullish dream on: September 05, 2014, 05:58:48 PM
Today I had one of those very realistic dreams: for some reason I can't remember there was a new rally, and the price went to $4653 in a rally short period of time, and I was really sad because I didn't own any btc.

I have a feeling, but I can't buy Bitcoins right now, so do me a favor a do not start a new rally until next month ok? thx

Sound like you wake up into a night mare when the price is still below 500.

New rally won't start until etf is approved and listed on NASDAQ,
27  Economy / Economics / Re: Confusing Capitalism with Fractional Reserve Banking on: September 05, 2014, 05:56:30 PM
Can you specifically name at least one or two of those countries?
india most of africa most of latin america

inb4 but they arent really following true capitalism, the ron paul types are as bad as trotsky supporter

India isnt poor its a BRIC.  You might be thinking of Bangladesh or Pakistan

BRIC is a marketing jargon for the wall street to sell all the ipo garbage originated from these countries.

You need to visit those countries to really know the level of development they are in. Basic infrastructure such as water, electricity and sewage. If they don't have these basic services running without downtime, how develop do you think the country is?
28  Economy / Economics / Re: You work your butt off, and a rich dude does nothing and gets rich - how? on: September 05, 2014, 01:55:45 AM
The currency itself is just a medium of exchange.  Value lies in the goods & services

Value comes from the demand of the consumers as well as the perceived profit of holding it for future gain.

Btc is backed by investors and speculators alone, without this group, no merchant will take btc as payment.
29  Economy / Speculation / Re: do NOT buy in dead cat bounce, fake recover shall not pass $520! on: September 05, 2014, 01:50:25 AM
we are still at 489$, I don't think it is a dead cat bounce, it's a live cat jumping.

It is a range bound trading range. And it won't stay here for long.

Network difficulty still increasing every two weeks. Small time miners are still losing a great deal of money because of ASIC depreciation.
30  Economy / Speculation / Re: Serious question. Who SELLS at this level? on: September 03, 2014, 06:44:25 PM
Isn't the objective of a speculative trader to buy LOW and sell HIGH?

I first bought some btc back in November before the massive rush to over $1k.

Now, more than ever is a seriously incredible opportunity to BUY.

How are more people not buying coins at this bargain prices?

Either something is fundamentally wrong here and we are heading towards $3xx or a MASSIVE rally is about to pop off.

Lets here what you got to say boys.

Everyone and his dog know the motto buy low and sell high.

The question is why you think it is low right now? And how high is high?
31  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Issuing In A New Era Of Arctic Cloud Mining - The KnCMiner Newsletter (LoL) on: September 03, 2014, 06:42:07 PM

I'm know shit about math.

I'll just trust knc.

I'm a knc customer.

A fool and his gold are soon parted.

Need to trust some of the experience miner on the profitability on knc miner and stay away.
32  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Issuing In A New Era Of Arctic Cloud Mining - The KnCMiner Newsletter (LoL) on: September 02, 2014, 06:40:03 PM
I don’t understand the calculation behind the marketing of this companies.
My calculation is that: if i buy i contract for 6 months I pay 1995 $. In 6 months i make about $1037 . HOW is this profitable ?
Can somebody explain to me if I am wrong?
There is absolutely nothing wrong with your calculations, and you've discovered exactly why cloud mining is a money making machine for the provider of the service - not for you.

If the company is selling the service knowing full well the customers will lose money, what they are doing are borderline scamming.
33  Economy / Speculation / Re: POLL: Will you buy in next dead cat bounce if there would be one? on: September 02, 2014, 06:34:28 PM
Dead cat bouncing at 200-300 will be a good buy even if you are a bear.

Can make quick buck on rebound.
34  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin price back @ 478$ again ... on: September 02, 2014, 03:07:20 AM
What may have caused this and after the brief rise in value why the dip ?

Bot malfunction and this create anxiety for traders on btc-e.

Traders may simply sell all positions and hope to buy back when Bot dumped a huge volume again.
35  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: I am out of the mining game :( on: September 02, 2014, 03:04:39 AM
Mining is no longer a game where small time miners can afford.

Most PoW coins may slowly go away and be replaced by PoS coins.
36  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: it seems spec forums dont know about avatrade btc products on: August 31, 2014, 04:58:36 PM
Is this a new forex exchange ?

Who is the owner and what country is the company registered in?
37  Economy / Speculation / Re: Incredibly high volume on BTC-e - Bot gone crazy? on: August 31, 2014, 04:56:07 PM
There's an incredible surge in volume on BTC-e at the moment: http://bitcoinity.org/markets/btce/USD! It seems to be caused by some bot gone awry, as some incoherent buying and selling is happening. Someone may be losing big time on fees currently. What do you think is going on?

Could be:

1) Multiple bots fighting each other on trend.
2) Multiple bots "painting" the tape to create the illusion of resistance.
38  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Coinbase going busto? Numerous people not getting paid by Coinbase currently. on: August 30, 2014, 01:39:19 PM
Sold around 2k worth of coin 2 weeks ago without problem.

Based on the respond on the thread, this problem only happen recently.
39  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Europe Needs to Embrace Islam - The New York Times on: August 30, 2014, 01:35:53 PM
guess the author's been smoking something spectacular.

The author is a liberal who see what she believe rather than facts.

One fact is clear, Muslim is not a peaceful religion and once they become a political force, they will demand the local to change the law to fit their need.
40  Other / Politics & Society / Re: UN Peacekeeper is Useless on: August 29, 2014, 12:28:00 PM
43 Fujian peacekeepers is captured by armed group in Syria and 81 Filipinos are trapped. They are not even allowed to fight back and depend themselves.

http://news.yahoo.com/un-armed-group-detains-43-peacekeepers-syria-141315168.html

Just a puppet shows put up by UN to convince the world the UN is useful.

People who are in the loop know how useless this type of bureaucrat is.
