23  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: NFT on Bitcointalk on: October 27, 2021, 11:47:18 PM
Do you think it would be good idea to add NFT under Alternate cryptocurrencies?
I don't think it's a good idea as bitcointalk was a forum and its purpose to build the crypto community. Theymos has ever spoken about that. You can check it on meta.

Okay
I know it may not be the big thing for Bitcoin people here, but I think it may draw more attention to Bitcoin and Bitcointalk which can bring something positive.
The bullish trend on bitcoin was more than enough to draw more attention by people to bitcoin. Bitcoin and bitcointalk have nothing to do with NFT.

Yeah, bullish trend has to come from somewhere and I think every small thing can help it
Like avalanche, from small rock to tons of everything that was in way Grin
I will be happy if you share your collection and what do you prefer if ethereum, solana or other based NFT?
I have only NFT lands on some games like vulcanverse, axie infinity and embersword. I never interested in NFT artwork as it's useless. I prefer polygon and BSC NFT.

Why do you prefer polygon and BSC?
Is there somehing special I missed?
What do you think about NFTs in general?
This was a good trend but some people are making this trend to be overrated like valued non sense thing with over valued price.

Oh yeah hope it will last for some time Cheesy
24  Other / Off-topic / How darkmarket admins get caught on: October 27, 2021, 09:39:53 PM
Hi,
We had this discussion in Czech Bitcoin community about getting operators of darkmarkets.

What do you know about this?
How do fbi or other government agencies get these people?

We talked about
1) Bitcoin is pseudoanonymous and some companies business is to trace transactions
2) They can get to place where they host this darkmarket and find IPs or some data that can lead to find the admins
3) There was this guy who sent some profits to KYC exchange on his mothers account Grin
4) They have to use node for transactions so they can maybe traced by IP of node (but what if it is through TOR)

But what if they used only Monero and Zcash (or other privacy coins) or they use some mixer?
Are there other ways to get to them?

If I was wrong in something, please tell me.
25  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Best thing you bought with Bitcoin? on: October 26, 2021, 11:54:01 PM
... 8 Bitcoins (around 6500 CZK by that time)
How long it is?  I have been short researched the value as of the of 6500CZK (Czech Koruna) for now in USD is in $293.13.
Maybe it was a long time ago when Bitcoin isn't popular in the market, but now you can even use it as a payment system like countries that have been declared as legal tender.

I have a lot of things that have been bought with my Bitcoin but it's not directly used in Bitcoin, I converted first into fiat and then use it to buy stuff.  Bitcoin in my place isn't yet much popular.

Regarding the black market, I have always been always afraid of making such transactions there using Bitcoin, it's maybe prone to scam.

Fuuu I think it could be like 8-9 yrs back (high school + cs1.6 all night times)

In my country we can use it for very long time.
Prague is and was very good place to spend btc especially there is a place where they accept only crypto (it has been more than 5 yrs since they started it I think)

Yeah nobody will report somebody who didn't sell a gun/drugs or anything that could be found there Grin
26  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Invest in Bitcoin only? on: October 26, 2021, 04:19:40 PM
What else do you invest in?  Huh
It is good to diversify portfolio so I am looking for inspiration

What do you think?
Is there something interesting coming?

I know that there are a lot of bitcoin enthusiasts or maximalists on this forum that say that every other coin than bitcoin is a shit coin and not worth to invest in but to be honest i think this statement is wrong of course and i also think, that it is kinda arrogant to say. If you were early into crypto and by that i mean before 2015 or so and you bought 5 bitcoins back then for 1000$ then of course it is very easy to say know that every other coins is a shit coin, but i am pretty new to crypto and i don't have a whole BTC or a few ETH that i can just hodl or invest into other big projects. Every investment that i make comes from FIAT from my bank account and that is why i don't invest into bitcoin because i just don`t like the fact that i get 0,0015 bitcoin for 100$. I rather get 100 coins of a new and promising project for the same amount of money. Of course the risk is higher there, but you also have the small chance for a big profit.

True!

What was the best/most interesting thing you bought with Bitcoin, when, where you bought it and how many Bitcoins it did cost? Grin

I almost bought a desert eagle on some darkmarket for like 8 Bitcoins (around 6500 CZK by that time) but I decided not to buy it, because it maybe was scam and if not, then my mom would kill me with it, if she knew that I was big gun fan back then... Cheesy Cheesy

NFT project. You're forget to mention this in your survey as NFT project was also really valuable this day. I have been also putting a lot of money on the NFT project.

It is good to diversify portfolio so I am looking for inspiration
It's good and why not? Diversify was a must to make sure you will be decreasing the risk by put all of your money in one basket. There are some tokens were giving you ability to earn passive income as well. This is a good thing to be combined with the capital gain that you can earn it by holding the major coin like bitcoin.
Is there something interesting coming?
There's a lot of interesting things coming every day but it seems like you're a newbies and you must put your money into the safe place rather than bet into the a new coin but this was the most profitable way to generate more money.

I had it there on first place before Cheesy
Now it is edited

For diversification I got some thousands of Cardano from 0.1-0.3$, few Solanas, many Egld, hundreds of Algo also very soon, some thousand of Vet and now also some rare eitbitape and popsicle NFTs (on Solana), some LTC because I like it very much and I used to mine it and much more cryptos...
But still thinking about something else to invest in something like fantom, solana, cardano but in the beginning if you know what I mean...

I think I like Litecoin more than Lighhtning which is too complicated... Grin Grin
31  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: Lightning network forever address and invoice amount on: October 26, 2021, 08:52:23 AM
Are you developer or just lightning network superfan? Grin

I guess you could call me a fan. I ran a couple of small Lightning nodes in the past. Here is my current node:

https://1ml.com/node/0273da0a525390c36857841e208f1d289275c76ebfa7ecfde697c6cbf4f235b4f5

Btw blue wallet is not good?

It's great for non-technical users and for people who just want to try out the Lightning Network for the first time. I don't think it would be suitable for any kind of project.

Nice Smiley
Thx will try another
Do you have some tip?
32  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: Lightning network forever address and invoice amount on: October 26, 2021, 12:14:02 AM
Wow, thank you for such amazing answer!
I have much more questions

Are you developer or just lightning network superfan? Grin
Because I would like to use your knowledge in my use case (preparing project) but I would feel stupid if I won’t reward you with some satoshi for your time and knowledge...

Btw blue wallet is not good?

34  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Lightning network forever address and invoice amount on: October 25, 2021, 11:01:13 PM
Hi,
I have some questions that are stuck in my head and I am not sure about it...

Are Lightning invoices->addresses permanent?
And is invoice amount important?

For example if in Blue wallet I will generate invoice for 1$ (you must fill some amount of invoice) and it will give me address...
Can I receive satoshis forever and in any amount?
Can I generate somewhere address without amount? (Just clear lightning wallet address and I don't mean refill address BECH32)

How would you for example withdraw Lightning Bitcoin from some payment gateway?
I am afraid that their automate system will not send amount I should get (for ex 2$) but the amount from generated invoice.
How does this automatic system works?
How will they open channel or connect with me?

Sorry for (maybe) dumb questions but I am not Lightning network pro (yet  Cool Grin )
I wanted to find some dev here who would help me with project and would help to understand some things but sadly I was unsuccessful...  Embarrassed

Thank you very much
35  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Do you spend your Bitcoin? on: October 25, 2021, 05:18:06 AM
honestly, i wouldn't sell my bitcoins for anything else except these 2 things, namely
  • urgent need
  • business development
So far, I have a business whose foundation is bitcoin. what I mean is, the business that I created has capital from bitcoins that I get from the internet. such as small inns, and others. So far, I still have plans to buy bitcoins from this venture.

Nice!
I also have Bitcoin business I invested some btc in...
Actually the one that came up from my own stupidity and age of internet scammers.
It made me do anonymous Bitcoin escrow with small fee.
Now I only hope people will love it because it is in early stage but working perfectly and already have some positive feedback

Wish you best of luck with your biz! Smiley

38  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Are the T17e and S17e good ASIC for mining on: October 21, 2021, 02:39:11 AM
Hi, I am new to Bitcoin mining.  Someone offered to sell me some Antminer T17e's and S17e's for a good price.  I have read that the 17 series have a lot of quality problems.  I am familiar with PC repair and can give a go at fixing and running these machines.

Can anyone advise whether these specific models (T17e, S17e) have the same problems and whether they are worth buying?

Hi,
1) Good electricity price
2) Asics are very loud
3) Asics are making heat
4) Asics need non dusty space
5) Asics need good air coinditioning space or good air fluctuation
6) Be lucky because this higher hashrate antminers are very bad quality (my friend bought 100 of them brand new directly from bitmain and 25% of them didn't even mine, but started and no claim, only sending back on his costs and then repair on his costs...)

Maybe calculate it more times and also consider bitcoin still going up by tens of percent a year and maybe you will find out it is better to invest money directly rather than mining for maybe 2 years and have less Bitcoin then if you would buy in the very beginning.

I hope I gave you some other/new opinion you came here for Smiley
39  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Do you pay with crypto??? on: October 19, 2021, 09:27:37 PM
I am interested what do you guys use for payments.

I like Litecoin paying the most (superfast and supercheap) but I am not afraid to pay with Bitcoin.

Doing this little research because I am preparing project
I will appreciate honest answers and comments

Thank you

I see so few places actually accepting Bitcoin so far that I had to go for the last option. In the few cases where it is available for niche goods and services, crypto can be an effective method of payment. Even cases like moving money overseas whether your on holiday or business can be very useful to avoid additional exchange rate fees with banks. However in day to day life it is simply too much hassle, when I go to a shop to buy some food each week a credit card is simply too straight forward to use. Things are developing though, more and more businesses are adding crypto to their accepted payment methods every month so it will become more ubiquitous.

Yeahh
In Prague here we have crypto kingdom Cheesy
Some places here are only crypto
40  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Do you pay with crypto??? on: October 19, 2021, 03:59:56 PM
At present I'm a fiat guy, because there is very few shops that accept cryptocurrency. Most of the time I used to convert bitcoin to fiat and use it. If there exist a way to spend directly without much of transaction fee as fiat then by that time I'll use cryptocurrencies. Today only explored and came to know about the application Krypto which has been developed to pay with cryptocurrency on any shops that has got the upi payment option. Hope this growth will progress in the upcoming years as a big userbase is getting created in my country after the pandemic.

There is a thing binance card
I have it but didn't use that much yet.
But my friends are so excited about it (nice rate to fiat currencies, no fee, and good atm withdrawals)
