21  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: US senators warn on Iran Bitcoin mining industry on: May 08, 2024, 09:43:24 PM
Mate, why do these people hate Bitcoin so much but still want to control it which is not possible, second thing is why do they always intervene in affairs of other nations ? Whether Iran bans Bitcoin mining or supports it is completely upto them based on what's good for them hence we shouldn't be bothered about it. Bankers and US government lobby are the most evil set of people to have ever walked on earth.

"They" don't hate Bitcoin. They hate countries who use Bitcoin to skirt international sanctions.

This is called being naive and believing the narrative your being fed over the picture box.

I am pretty sure ALL the bitcoin mining put together couldn't even remotely serve Irans economic need / terrorist machine.

Dear Elizabeth Warren,

Please explain the 1.7 billion dollars cash Barack Hussein Obama sent the Iranian Mullahs.

Thank you,

The American people.

Why would they now?

They already own the Oval Office.

It never get's better.

If she cheats cut her free and never look back.

She will never stop betraying you, ever.

It's never "just a mistake" don't believe that shit.
or maybe Give her at least one chance mate? because if that is your position then better to Cut her neck instead of just cutting her in your life  Grin

sometimes once is a mistake but twice is a intentional  so with that better cut her forever in life because she will keep doing this everytime you are not around like a mice when the cat is not present .

And one more, then one more it never stops. I have NEVER in my life seen this "work out". you spend years of your life and sanity chasing a ghost when it could be better spent with someone who wants you instead of settls for you until something else comes along.

These are the exact same women who say "where are all the good men at".. Well, they are all over, they just don't want to be with you.

Nice guys finish last, always.

They will marry the guy that makes them feel safe or that they believe they have complete control over. Then they will see if they can date up from there (fools gold) or they are just garden tools. Most fall under the garden tool category. They figure you won't dump them like you should and dump the heavy lifting of fixing the relationship on the man.

Don't be captain "save a ho", yo can't great guy them into being good people.

They cheat, get rid of them. Trying to reason with them is like reasoning with cancer.

You find out protect yourself and your future as best you can, hide money assets whatever you got to do. They gave up fair treatment.

29  Economy / Speculation / Re: Is Hong Kong Bitcoin ETF Responsible for Recent Bear on: May 04, 2024, 03:59:02 PM
Ice cream sales are directly correlated to shark attacks in Florida.

Doesn't mean they are related.

Listen Einstein's, what happened a few days ago? Oh the FED that's right.

Some anticipated the fed would drop but it held, no cheap money coming soon. Prices respond accordingly.

30  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: Industrial Scale Natural Gas Mining on: May 03, 2024, 09:07:35 PM
Even using stranded and or flare gas would have to be at a very large scale to be economically feasible.

Now you have to maintain a power plant as well most likely in a remote area. Where I live I can buy electricity off the pole 1 megawatt for an hour is about $43 bucks. I believe you would need to start around the 100mw install to even to get in the black within years even with "free" fuel.
31  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: Bitcoin Mining Opportunities in Tanzania on: May 03, 2024, 02:24:02 PM
Goodmorning Google! Is Bitcoin legal in Tanzania?

Goodmorning knucklehead, this is what I found.

"No, Bitcoin is not legal in Tanzania. The Bank of Tanzania warns the public to avoid virtual currencies, including cryptocurrencies, as they are not legally authorized in the country. The Bank of Tanzania also advises not to use cryptocurrency, stressing that the Tanzanian shilling is the only acceptable legal tender. "

This looks like a non starter from the gate.

33  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: If you have $200,000,but no miners, no mining experience, and no cheap electricit on: May 03, 2024, 02:08:51 PM
Not enough money to make it worthwhile.

Better off putting it into bitcoin over a few diff wallets and enjoy life.

Garage style mining is over if weren't already in it.
I recently watched a communication between Russian miners. They have a small capacity, no more than 10 megawatts, but their cost of bitcoin mining is roughly in the range of $30,000 to $35,000.
I believe them, and that's why if you have the money, it's more profitable to mine bitcoin. Buying it at $59,000 is expensive.

philipma1957
, have you calculated your cost of mining bitcoin?

No,  let's looks at the numbers real quick.

let's say about half his investment makes it to buying miners. The rest would be electrical, racking fans, rent improvements. So that could be about 10 whatsminers. With cheap power that's about $10 dollars per day per machines. That's 2000 days until break even with no problem and not putting a dime in your pockets. Even if bitcoin doubled it's still crappy. Ten machines would be about 80kw ish in power, a spit of a small 10mw install. It's economies of scales issue.

The facts are clear, it's not going to ever realistically goingot pat off. Put the money in the coin and enjoy your life.

The big boys have already spoken what they will mess around with.

Bitcoin
Eth
Bitcoin cash
ltc

Sure you can dick around with alt stuff. Lot's of fluff and fomo and one could lose allot quickly.

Great risk and reap rewards but history shines poorly on it.

Edit: Having multiple coins/tokens is NOT diversification or a protection move. Having Shell, Exxon and BP in your portfolio is not diversification, it must be another sector

Who says the chart is right?

Is there a requirement form them to report such things?

I question the data.

37  Economy / Economics / Re: What scares me from investing in gold. on: April 25, 2024, 03:29:44 PM
With Gold and Silver it's about managing the overhead, the points above spot.

I work with my local shop and they buy back at spot pretty easily.

Gold bars (10oz 5 oz) are a pain in the ass, because it's allot of money for the buyer to have around and you could take a bigger bath when you need some money and the market isn't so great. smaller divisions generally cost more over spot but I easy to get rid of.

I like to buy silver coins from individual at spot or below or when times are not good. If I ever needed to horse trade some gas or food silver would be much easier to trade. And always have some cash on hand as well.

Kevin Oleary last time I heard was in about 50% physical and 50% digital on gold. Seems smart.

Here in the US I have both Gold and BTC in my IRA (retirement account with tax perks). It has a purpose.

Never have all your eggs in one basket, so foolish.

38  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Biden is asking Congress to kill the American Bitcoin mining industry on: April 24, 2024, 07:21:46 PM
Yes and no .....

Why ?

New York (state) banned crypto mining...

`The New York Senate passed Bill S6486D banning cryptocurrency mining in the state when relying on carbon-based energy sources to power their operation.`

Just want to make the point that New York DID NOT ban mining.

1) If you had a mining facility up and running nothing changed*
2) If you wanted to setup a new mine using 100% renewable nothing changed

The * being that renewals of permits in the 2 years period that the bill is in effect for might be an issue...except for these 2 facts
1) There were 2 (3?) mines that were using old power plants that were specifically mentioned and exempt from the regualtion
and
2) There are / were no permit renewals coming though in the 2 years from the signing of the bill.

Unrelated but important a lot of places don't want large scale mining facilities due to the fact that they suck down a lot of power and don't supply many jobs.

Trust me if you had a ratio of 1 job per 100 miners you would have states clamoring to get them. But one of the ones upstate had something like 7500 miners and 15 full time workers and a couple of part time people. The local Taco Bell had more staff.....

-Dave

They pay a huge electric bill that supports power generation and people in the plant. They rent/buy the building, They pay taxes the sewage and water bills. In Texas they burn tons of excess generation that they pay for and doesn't get scuttled into "reactors" that burn of excess power into heat. During times of high grid demand the idle the machines out. These jobs pay higher than Taco Bell (nothing wrong with that job) so it's not 1 to 1. Besides they are pretty benign neighbors.
39  Bitcoin / Mining / I have cheap power available, 4.3c per kwh on: April 23, 2024, 02:16:50 PM
I have 500amps@480v available immediately in north east Oklahoma. Perfect for a container drop and I can do any of the electrical.

Sandwiched within walking distance of two 100+Mw hydros and two substations. Lines recently reconductored to take more power. Many Mw available with some phone calls.

I can also assist in finding a building(s) in the industrial parks and assist in a move.

I can also be employed as a local, I am currently in Cali but can toss the dog in the truck and I am there. No big deal. I also have some overnight rooms available in my office building.

I also have a shipping container with 300 amps (240v split phase) ready to go, just need to fill it out. Want to fill things out 100%.
40  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Biden is asking Congress to kill the American Bitcoin mining industry on: April 23, 2024, 01:50:03 PM
Tax is theft and wielded as a weapon.

Biden doesn't give a rats ass about the environment or power use. It has been proven to be good to the environment ad nauseam.

He hates bitcoin and what it represents, part of his overall plan to kill the American economy and middle class.

His Chinese handlers killed it for the same reason and he is caring out their wishes here on many fronts.

Ray Charles can see this one.
