21  Other / Off-topic / Re: How to avoid depression? on: December 11, 2021, 08:55:22 PM
It is better to understand yourself, depression is just unfinished business/tasks or unsuccessful plans. This is when you planned one thing, but it turned out to be another. Because of this, depression begins. Perhaps you are setting big goals or expecting too much. There are many ways to deal with depression, but it’s better to do self-development.
22  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: What do you think about staking? on: December 11, 2021, 05:08:35 PM
The key is to choose the right coins / tokens for staking. Although I prefer to be a validator and not a nominator. Now there are not bad projects on the Polkadot parachains ...
23  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / GameFi without NFT on: December 11, 2021, 04:44:11 PM
The Oddysey Games team continues to explore the new world of GameFI. We see it as the future of the gaming industry. Who refuses to play and make money without being a professional gamer. 2021 was a landmark year for the young gaming industry and gave rise to many major projects and expectations. We are no exception.

GAMEFI IS NOT ONLY ABOUT NFT GAMES.

We believe that GameFI is not only about NFT games, cards exchange, or fighting for NFTs. We show how to use blockchain and economics to create a Play-To-Earn game. People need beautiful graphics, interesting game storylines, and mechanics. But if the game offers an opportunity to earn money, it is a masterpiece.

WHAT DOES THE MARKET OFFER?

Most of the released games have no game mechanics. In fact, these are just sites with NFT cards and improvised battles for ERC 721 tokens, which is alright for someone. What about those players who request a scenario or a storyline? To be fair, there are such games too. They are under development, so nothing is known about the quality and the speed of their mechanics on the blockchain. We believe that the current environment and architecture of most blockchains do not work for all genres. We have chosen a real genre that is always in demand, and its graphics and mechanics will not break due to shortcomings of blockchain technologies.

IT’S TIME TO MOVE FROM CRYPTOKITTIES!

CryptoKitties was released on the Ethereum blockchain in 2017. 4 years later, the mechanics of most blockchain games have not changed. We believe it is time to expand the capabilities of the blockchain, use multiple networks, create multi-chain projects and games for different purposes. We use 4 networks in the Be Whale game.

Binance Smart Chain — for ERC 20 / ERC 721 tokens but with lower fees than Ethereum.

Ethereum — unites many users. We think the release of Ethereum 2 will solve the situation with expensive fees and it will become more in demand for game developers.

Polkadot Substrate is the best solution for your games, where you can include any game mechanics. Players can connect to the network as validators and build game mechanics.

Solana is a fast blockchain. We believe it has a lot of potential for GameFI. We use Solana in our Be Whale game.

SLOW BLOCKCHAIN? WHAT IS THE MECHANICS?

Often, developers claim that the speed of the blockchain does not allow them to realize their ideas or the expectations of players. We agree. But there is a solution — you can divide the actions into several networks, create a connection point or make the waiting process an integral part of the game, as in economic simulators among the Tycoon.

There are actually several options to create PVP on the blockchain. Here are a few of them that you can actually use.

  • 1. Waiting before connection — displays an animation of a battle or action. It only works for virtual battles, no physics.
  • 2. An intermediate layer between the client and the blockchain to save the current state of the character as a server, with the subsequent sending of the data recorded to the network.
  • 3. Adjustment of the battle mechanics to the blockchain capabilities.

In conclusion, I’d like to mention that GameFI is a new game genre that many people have not heard of yet. We will try to change this. We are targeting a large audience of gamers of different ages and genres. We will try to convey the blockchain technology and show how useful it is in the quality of transparency and fairness of games with the possibility of additional or main income.
24  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: NFT for money laundering? on: December 11, 2021, 04:26:16 PM
In fact, NFT is not used to launder money, but it can be said that NFT is a golden opportunity for those who want to launder money. Reason:
NFT uses blockchain technology. So it increases the difficulty in tracing the identity of the person who wants to launder money.
NFTs dealing with “artistic” topics are overvalued. Because simply, it is "art", but "art" does not have any pricing standards. If you argue, just say "I find it beautiful and valuable!". So it can cost anything, meaning the money launderer can launder as much as he wants.
NFT is inflated in terms of technology value. And in that wave of FOMO, multi-million dollar to tens of million dollar transactions are “normal”. Since then, these "normal" transactions have become "mirrors" in the media. But no longer under the suspicion of the public.
NFT has not yet received adequate attention from regulators. Rather, it is not strictly controlled for tax arrears and identity requirements for high value transactions. So, while regulations are being abandoned, this is a golden opportunity for money launderers.

This picture explains the pricing standards of today’s NFT hehehe.

Price is easily manipulated and very easily dictated because the market is not similar to cryptocoins where buying and selling occurs in real time.

Also, how does everyone know that NFTs are not being used for money laundering? Would money launderers tell you their activities?

I completely agree. It seems to me that NTF is overrated, but NTF games are already perversions. We also entered the blockchain from game development, NTF can be used as an item, but not at all as characters or cats. It can be part of collections, achievements, awards.

P.S I laughed from the picture 10 minutes. Thank you Cheesy
25  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: One problem with BTC on: December 11, 2021, 04:02:02 PM
Why does a decentralized system need centralization? There are many other investment options.

Do you think if the bank steals money, the CEO will give it to you?) In some countries there is a guaranteed insurance program for deposits, but it also does not work perfectly. In the real world, you can sue for 10-15 years and you won't get your money back. The best way to protect money is the mind, not a third person who can be sued.

Keep your money in a sock under your bed.
26  Economy / Economics / Re: Bitcoin to trigger central bank collapse on: December 11, 2021, 03:50:17 PM
If you look at cryptocurrency 5 years ago and now, this is a big difference. Now decentralization is only on paper, but in fact centralization and total control are worse than banks. (I'm talking about CEX)
27  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Metaverse and blockchain on: December 11, 2021, 03:34:33 PM
That AI and the Metaverse in the blockchain are more hype than technology. Hundreds of duplicates for profit. There are very, very few promising projects. It's a pity...
28  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Polkadot - parachain auctions on: December 11, 2021, 02:22:55 PM
We will also take part in batch 2, probably closer to the end. Of the worthy I want to highlight HydraDX - their Omnipool is wonderful!

I have learn many things here. Thank you everyone. Everyone is saying the same thing and advising me. I have seen many good advice I will take here.
  • I will not give anybody my work to correct me
  • I will download grammarly application
The people here will not care too much for grammar. If I can write what people will read and understand. Little by little everything will be fine with me. Am happy everyone.

I also recommend the Grammarly app. It is installed as a browser plugin. [/list]
30  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: mempool / electrs install, can load transactions but not addresses on: December 11, 2021, 12:22:46 PM
Any specific logs I can inspect?

I'm not very familiar with FreeNAS (since it's based on FreeBSD), but i would check directory /var/log and check syslog file.

Code:
cd /var/log
cat syslog | grep electrs

Sorry, but this is a question for the author to analyze his problem. I think there is a problem with the mempool

Why do you think the problem is related with Bitcoin Core's mempool?

I do not know about the author, but it happened to me when there are transactions in the mempool that were overwritten or with erroneous waste and the local mempool did not match the network one - I could not get data by addresses.
31  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: mempool / electrs install, can load transactions but not addresses on: December 11, 2021, 10:42:52 AM
What does the command return?

Code:
bitcoin-cli getmempoolinfo

1. Please don't hijack other's topic. Make your own.
2. You can find your answer in the documentation: https://developer.bitcoin.org/reference/rpc/getmempoolinfo.html

We just had a similar problem when the mempool stuck, then we solved the problem of restarting the node with zapwallettxes

33  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin full integration in payment systems on: December 11, 2021, 10:09:47 AM
It's only a matter of time, but the main thing is instant transactions.  Several companies actually made it possible on conventional POS terminals, they instantly approve transactions without waiting for confirmation from the network, but there are certain conditions for a minimum commission.
34  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Play2earn games on: December 11, 2021, 09:03:33 AM
We do not like that teams do not bring new ideas to the world of GameFi, but only copy already successful projects. Play2Earn - this is reality. But the game process must fit this model.

For example, our first game is an economic simulator, we use 4 networks, awards for quests and achievements. This is quite realistic and you will not have to pay a commission to the players to write to the blockchain - this is our task. For mechanics, we have our own node built on a Polkadot substrate.

I can't write more yet, but it will happen soon ...
35  Economy / Economics / Re: The Danger of Local Economy. on: December 11, 2021, 08:48:19 AM
Bitcoin probably will not be able to, but I believe that after years some states will introduce digital money, since this is a common money evolution.
36  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: Which programming language to choose? on: December 11, 2021, 08:34:51 AM
It all depends on the specific goals. Regardless of how you use your knowledge, you must learn 2 languages, the syntax of which will help you to learn more languages in the future.

Must have.

Code:
1) C / C ++
2) Java

Now it is "fashionable" to write in Rust, but for a beginner, personally, I think that it is difficult and will not give as many basics as the languages suggested above.
