21  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Do your parents invest in bitcoin ? on: May 22, 2024, 09:59:20 PM
He sits beside me whenever I'm on my PC at his place... Dammnn!! Man wasn't joking the last time he told me about an altcoin, claiming it could be part of Bitcoin..Lol

He has pretty much a good interest innit; funny enough, he told me about this set of people that claimed to be crypto enthusiasts. They came around and rented one of the most expensive floors on a government residential building in the neighborhood for an office. He paid, got some mentorship and a little bonus in worth of coins before he told me anything. WTF?
Right now, since he's biblophilic too - he's done a good level of reading (with my coaching) and doesn't seem to relinquish.

Edit: meanwhile, mum sees everything that requires money like a scam! Hahaha!!
22  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Bullish period and advantage. on: May 22, 2024, 09:54:52 PM
The reality people who buy Bitcoin at the dip and sell during bullish is better than DCA and holding.
You shouldn't say it's better; one of the hardest thing to do is creating a follow-up or understanding market's decision to know exactly when it's most condusive to buy during the DIP.. not everyone has that spare time to analyze the trend. Eitherways, to begin trading, you'd need the skill, time and most importantly - a thick-skin to accept whatever loses you encounter.

Quote
Trader is better than investor, everyone can become investor, but not everyone can become trader.
That doesn't make trading more lucrative either. As harmless as it looks to be greedy, you could end up like a pulp for it.
Bottomline is - Do whatever profits you the most.
23  Other / Meta / Re: How would the forum feel/react if Casinos were banned like Mixers? on: May 22, 2024, 09:24:47 PM
it is pretty much a decent business because a lot of btc was hodl.

So when and how does theymos exit?

Maybe that should be a discussed topic for the future.
Theymos is beginning to tire. Do y'all think he's not been thinking of what the next 5 years would look like? Cus what in the world is stopping him from the completion of the new ecosystem? Resources? That can't be!
On the other hand, critics aren't kept grounded for whatever proposal they'd make against Bitcoin as long as the forum stays...why? Bitcointalk alone has made an impact that is believed to enlightened atleast 1/3 of bitcoiners (excluding cyber theft aged or retired persons)

There will be plenty of reactions
- a lot of members will suddenly go MIA
Can we accertain that most high ranking members today would stay? it's not about using some "pronouns"

I feel like we would have nothing left to discuss and, if it ever happens, I'll just focus on the WO thread for periodic updates and postings... The rest of the boards would have lesser activities.
24  Other / Meta / Re: Is this forum getting worse and worse? on: May 22, 2024, 07:46:47 PM
Yes there were lots of spam, lots of account farmers but now I see that was part of the fun. Catching all those scammers/farmers were creating lots of post activity&drama.

Now there are (probably) no cheaters, there is no drama, and almost zero activity.
okay... Lemme get this straight; do you really wanna go back to the old times, when the forum had alot of trash post that you'd have to sort your way through just to find an interesting topic? Huh? I thought we all saw the incessant spamming/bounty cheating as a threat that could recreate an unruly and discoordinated forum?.. if you're serious about this (and if it's not just your usual way of joshing on substantial issues) That would mean the fight against all odds to eliminate spam was a mere formality to you?.
Quote
Maybe theymos should remove the merit system  Tongue
And that would definitely bring back the traffic and a couple of good posters that left for some unknown reasons ?
Edit:
As I look at it now I realize forum members have earned millions in btc via signatures ending signatures is not the answer. Accepting the reality that BTC and all other coins are old news and less people are interested in the forum because it is repetitive.

A time will surely come, where companies would either pay smidgens & cents for signature promotions or assume BTT as not fit enough to provide the desired traffic.
TIME!!
It's a major determinant for everything under the sun.
25  Other / Meta / Re: Is this forum getting worse and worse? on: May 21, 2024, 09:54:18 PM
Can't say I've noticed any degradation. Then again, as a miner I mainly hang out in the BTC mining area and could care less about the alts areas nor 'privacy' issues related to holding/using BTC so mixers have always been a non-starter for me.
NotFuzz, sorry to sound a little bit stupid but -- do you really wanna make your own analysis on how we could basically improve (ofcourse, this is about creating pathways for improvement) based off of your daily routine? I'm one a hundred percent certain that atleast 89% of users in here aren't miners, which doesn't correlate with that fact that privacy orientation doesn't bother you at all. It could definitely be a fair plan for you as a miner.

Don't care about the online casinos and ads for them did not bother me. If some long standing members where here mainly just for the signature campaigns, oh well. Can't say I miss them leaving
Signature campaigns were introduced way back 2014 right? Lemme get this straight: how populated was the forum compared to the recent times? Has there been very much differences between the early days and the new-era?

Quote
Ranking up/Merit: This started as a technical forum - not a social media circle jerk like Twitter et al. I think at its core it should remain a technical forum
There's never a time that these hasn't been an issue... I think we gotta let it out!
26  Other / Meta / Re: Is this forum getting worse and worse? on: May 21, 2024, 08:42:56 PM
I don't want to correlate this forum's comedown with the mixer ban, even though I've thought of it and it's likely one major factor, but what's the current picture of Bitcointalk according to you? To me, it's declining in genuine interest.
That's exactly what it is -- you don't wanna lookpast every single rationale, do you?. It could look to you like there are some other factors behind the deterioration but, practically, it's nothing more than what we've already known.
Meanwhile, we've got testimonies from people of the old times and, they're all dismayed by the new-era forum and its atrophy. Sometimes, I'm almost left with nothing to read - leaving me an option to either struck my wooly hair and cogitate or log off for the day!

We're only left with the thought that things would either get better or worse, just like you said... For "it's better to allow an ignorant man to roam the community selflessly forever, than incentivize him limitedly"

Now, to that, add that we've lost valuable members, some of which were intellectually influential, and you have an Internet board filled with mostly crap. What's the problem?
TIME!!
It's a major determinant for everything under the sun.
27  Other / Meta / Re: The effect the mixer ban has had on the forum. on: May 19, 2024, 09:51:22 PM
I don't wanna be "that" guy but I think that o_e_l_e_o was here because of high pay rate and he left because of low pay rate and we lost a very amazing member because of that! o_e_l_e_o was a real asset (I know he said that he had an illness but I don't believe it, sorry but I love him, he will always be in my memory).
I don't understand what you mean here; I suppose he made it clear to everyone why he decided to quit? Leo wasn't wearing any paid signature for a long time after chipmixers left the forum so what are you talking about?

It's inarguably true that the number of good posters would decrease and the general activity would keep ebbing. Sadly,it looks like that's where we're going from here ...lol
Most of my posting here was not done with a signature. I would think 25000 maybe 30,000 posts were done with no campaign.
Philipma would never go back to when he posted for free. ignorance is bliss  Tongue
28  Economy / Services / Re: [CFNP] BestChange Signature Campaign | Sr Member+ on: May 19, 2024, 09:28:33 PM
Sadly, I just noticed the campaign has ended.
Is you serious? I thought everyone should have known by now though - especially their participants.

Bestchange left when it was least expected; I would swear they ain't going anywhere till maybe the next 1 year or something.
I know exactly how it feels to break a good team. I'm sure bestchange didn't make the conclusion on their own so it's likely they may come back, just like he said.
Dear friends, hereby we are closing our signature campaign for the time being.
29  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Concerns grow over online gambling among teens on: May 19, 2024, 08:57:35 PM
"It's time for schools to focus on the root cause of online teen gambling by implementing gambling prevention education in all high schools. Health class curricula across the nation cover the typical risks for teens such as smoking, drinking, vaping, etc yet gambling education is nowhere to be found in our schools. "
We have a new generation and breed of children that call themselves "Gen Zs"; The reality we are facing today with our kids is way different from the 1990's ... The Internet has created a huge influence on them so much that they'd know so many things we don't.

Secondly, peer influence creates yet again, another impossible path to leap -- so many kids have been bullied and stalked for not following any trend that comes forth. When this happens, since a kid is susceptible to opposition, they may decide to follow suit. It's definitely not gonna end well for them
So the best solution would be sending out stricter measures on casinos over the regulation of their customers. If they're not up to 18, report them!!

30  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Drake curse strikes again, rapper loses on Fury, Usyk bet on: May 19, 2024, 08:31:08 PM
As Usyk knocked down Fury in the ninth round, Drake lost $565000 in the hope to win $1 million.
For a second, let's talk about Tyson fury; i actually thought he was atleast 45 due to his slaggy nature and older physique(but he's 35), only for me to realize Usyk is even older at 37.

On Drake's part;he's been gambling relentlessly - not because he's really in need of the funds.. he's already worth billions -- okay, you wanna look up his networth? ain't nobody networth is real!!! So maybe he enjoys the fun and the increase in adrenaline on anticipation. Drake has never sounded like he's pained on whatever he's lost - so if he's compassionate about wagering on games in the UFC, he can.
31  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Jake Paul to Fight Mike Tyson in Live Netflix Boxing Event - July 20 on: May 19, 2024, 07:55:57 PM
80's Mike Tyson post-fight interview is really one of a kind, "I'm gonna rip his heart" comments. And if this happens in today's era, for sure Tyson will get a lot of backlash with this cancel society.

But I guess he just mellow it down in this fight, but still though, his language is controversial, but boxing fans love to see the old Mike Tyson back with that kind of statement and it could be added to his savage moments.
You see, he created a pathway for himself and, when the time was right, he made unforgettable legacies... These already made legacies sold his career to the highest point and he swam in a pool of victory throughout his prime... that can never be the case today anyways!

So I'd readily agree that whatever he does today - about him defeating Jake would just be him acting up on his own path to revive his income sources, and also creating more fame on Jake!
What aren't we expecting? Tow billionaires made an arrangement to fight themselves over nothing, talkmore of an ex fighter? He's gonna lose anyway.
32  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Never borrow money to be able to gamble on: May 19, 2024, 07:35:57 PM
All the strategies you mentioned here are supposed to be known to any gambler already; what makes gambling fun if not all these attributes? There's definitely no how you'd encounter losses in row and be happy with the development -- It's either you'd wanna quit, run outta of bankroll or gamble away everything but eitherways, you'd definitely realize yourself at the end!

Secondly, a gambler that'd attempt to borrow or use people's funds to wager (assuming it was in his custody) is not disciplined. So, if you must wager, know when, with what funds and where to wager responsibly.
But when you have money to gamble, it will make you comfortable in your gambling to win because you will settle down to play the game that will make you win big or small in the gambling.
What do you mean? Honestly, I didn't understand a thing from this piece.
33  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What need to follow to play the stress free gambling game on: May 19, 2024, 06:44:56 PM
You actually don't need to minimize the frequency and wager limits to be a successful gambler... If that's all you gotta do, then the chances of having some lined-up winning spree is slim.
AfAIK, the frequency in which any gambler wagers is directly proportional to the difference in losses and winnings; which means, you can't secure a win if you don't wager for a particular session/week...

Mostimes, they don't even wager on so many games cus they'd sometimes lose it on their simulations.. so all they gotta do is pick a game with a smaller odd, and wager - let's say a 100k..  if it produces x3.5, it'll definitely triple that money.
34  Other / Meta / Re: Wall of fame / shame. Shit posts so bad that they are actually funny on: May 19, 2024, 10:51:09 AM
And this makes me to come to a hypothetical conclusion that in gambling each and every person is individually destiny to within the range of certain amount of win. And that if you are not destined to win the high amount you are after, you will never be able to no matter how much you use or the strategy you apply to your bets.
I stumbled on this one yesterday and TBH, I'm not still able to comprehend the point proven.  Tongue I don't intend to break any existing protocols whatsoever. Been a while we had an update in here.
35  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Be careful with people's money on: May 18, 2024, 09:59:43 PM

There is another one that I read today that people thought he ran away with people's money but he later confessed that he lost it to gambling. It is about a solana-based cypher developer, he confesses that he lost $300K of user funds to gambling.
There's always an effect of nurturing a habit that you either cannot finance or stop at will.

I wouldn't dare to gamble away my hard-earned funds, talkmore of buying the idea with people's fund. If there's ever been a time y'all think you can gamble away the funds and get an overflow, that you can replace them back and have a little or more profits to spare, then that's a lie!

I want to get this correctly. The person that traded with the money killed his friend? Or a trader used his friend's money to trade and his killed him for that? Both are not good but I will like to know who killed who?
Whatever the case might be, it's just too risky to entrust your funds in people's custody.. I've read about cases that a man got kidnapped when he asked for a refund of his own money - they killed him without a ransom.
36  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Does destiny has influence in the amount we can win in gamble? on: May 18, 2024, 09:58:16 PM
What do you mean destiny? What has that got to do with the fact that you wagered and lost? Do you seriously believe some people are created to not do some certain things or what?

Every era has a trend; when people fail to understand that they could either stay away from it or get along with it, they begin to relate it to what their religion says. Should you not make decisions on your own self?

Edit:
And this makes me to come to a hypothetical conclusion that in gambling each and every person is individually destiny to within the range of certain amount of win. And that if you are not destined to win the high amount you are after, you will never be able to no matter how much you use or the strategy you apply to your bets.
seems like you don't even know the true meaning of the word DESTINY. You already made this post selfcontradictory when you said it's all about being LUCKY.
I'm sick and tired of reading scribbles from dummyheads like this one. Jessssss!!!!
37  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling between the past and nowadays on: May 18, 2024, 09:56:43 PM
In your opinion, what are the factors that brought  change in the field of gambling? What is your outlook on it in the future?
Renaissance!
As the years go by, gambling evolved from being a p2p thing to its present state.. developers only kept thinking of how they could ease, entice and populate so Many countries with their own form of gambling.. so they reinvented the same interface and settings in land based casinos on an app.

Gamblers also had anonymity problems as a family member or relative could see you in a pool house, tryna pick up the fixtures for the weekends. There and then, you become a threat to the growing ones
The development has convinced atleast 40% rookies into gambling, which has inturn generated much more funds for the gambling industries.
38  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: How Casinos Manage Minimum Withdrawal Limits and Fees on: May 18, 2024, 09:43:09 PM
The part I bolded is not really clear - do you mean withdrawal fee or the minimum amount that can be withdrawn from the casino? Clarifying this would help us understand better what it is that you want to know and in return a proper answer will be provided - for now I doubt anyone understands your question.
Exactly... These are two different things and he's like mixing up the whole thing thereby, making his post more complicated.

The minimum withdrawal LIMIT is set to retain a gambler that would just wanna wager and get away with their winning... Sometimes, people do awful things; like registering on a casino and making their first deposit just to claim the casino's bonuses.
I am able to withdraw the $100. so where did the money the casino use in processing the transaction fee come from?
Your post isn't clear dude.. you're saying two different things in one caption.
We have withdrawals limits -- maximum & minimum.
We also have withdrawals fees....
39  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: An aggressive gambler irrelevantly easing his Irresponsible gambling manner. on: May 18, 2024, 09:35:24 PM
Someone betted on boxing and lost the game but the gambler out of grieve of his lost is trying to ease his emotion Said, It is okay as it is for at least the guy I betted on made me lost the game but had unfortunate for him too to had taken beaten of his life.
How funny it was when I finally understood the scenerio you were trying to describe...  Tongue
The guy in question isn't aggressive at all; every gambler has an expectation and, once they're not able to make it cut, they try to cushion the effect from the loses they've had so far.. ..and that's just the case here.

Quote
I think such is and aggressive and irresponsible gambler who gambles on the peak of what he can not afford to loose.
in most cases, what they wagered was a small amount compared to what so many degenerate gamblers would recklessly pull out for the game.
What they fail to understand is that these wrestlers have the spirit of sportsmanship.
Edit:
Hmm, it doesn’t seem like a wise statement to me because if he had placed his bet on a different game let’s say football and lost what would he had commented?
bahahahaha.... Maybe that one of the players got injured?
40  Other / Meta / Re: Should mods make a post to justify why they locked a thread? on: May 18, 2024, 09:19:52 PM
I know sometimes mods lock threads at their own discression, especially at boards where they are a local moderator.
Not at their own discretion though.... that's like saying they're responsible for adjudicating what should, and what shouldn't be posted. We've got rules already; so basically, the moderators are only there to blur out/control incessant posting.
Quote
I just think it would be a nice courtesy if mods would just add a post before locking a topic to justify why they felt it should be locked
Is this really necessary?? Ofcourse, when a post is deleted, a user gets notified through PMS for the possible reasons that happened. The same case would imply when it's locked by the MODs.

Look, you have no idea how much time and energy it takes to manually run the forum. Why not avoid tryna make their job more strenuous?
