Hi All,

These two are obviously forum trolls. That is why their profiles are mostly blank.

The only way they would possibly be happy is if they had won an S3 miner or two themselves. There is nothing you can do to convince them to stop writing their childish hate-filled messages.

If they have something valid to respond to, then respond; but if it's garbage, don't give them the satisfaction of another response for them to troll on.
23  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: [11000 TH] BTC Guild - Pays TxFees+NMC, Stratum, VarDiff, Private Servers on: August 28, 2014, 10:24:00 AM
There is really no effective way for a pool to block a user who is hijacking someone else's miner. Even if the account is blocked or suspended all they have to do is open another one.
The best thing to do is make sure YOU are following best practices with YOUR network settings, tipping off the rest of us that its happened and moving on.
Pointing a finger at the pool operating and threating the pools reputation will only make you look like a jerk. Whereas an attitude of being informative and proactive would serve you best.

I wasn't threatening anything, but just predicting the future. I was hoping to appeal to someone's sense of pride in doing something positive for the crypto-currency community as a whole. I guess I came to the wrong place.

Those original comments were left 5 months ago, if this issue was still ongoing it would still be a current topic on the thread. Not sure why it has been drug out of the closet now.

It is current. Happened to me this week.

Can someone help. I am furious. BTCG user/worker benutzer_1 has hacked my antminer and changed a script file somewhere to redirect to his worker. What will BTC Guild do about this? Short of changing my SSH password which I have now done what else can I do?

UPDATE: Config file for cgminer did not show his pool/worker (priority 0) and a reboot has deleted killed his worker. Now very confused.

Thanks

I'm sorry you appear to have been hacked.  But I don't see how BTCG can help?

I could say my worker was hacked and I should get credit for someone else's work too.  My point is, how can you prove it?

M

It's definitely happening. I can vouch for that.

He's using the cgminer API listener to insert your pool and his account information onto miners with a hole in their default configurations. Sure, shame on the vendor that leaves that hole open, and shame on your member for hacking and stealing from decent people.

He's going to bring that shame on you too. I'd advise you to bounce that user from your pool before he muddies your name. You wouldn't want BTC Guild to become synonymous with "hackers" and "thieves", right?

any update on latest drawings?

I am curious too, as it has been over a week since the last winners were announced.

Me too. I'd love to win some more!!!  Cheesy

Well I'll be darned! I just got my Antminer S3! I was the second winner and honestly I really didn't take the whole drawing thing very seriously but here we are. UPS guy knocked at the door and boom, brand new Antminer S3!

It shipped on August 18 and got here on the 25th. I haven't hooked it up yet but anyway, anyone interested in buying an Antminer S1? Smiley I haven't done any mods to it; I'd just rather run the S3 on its PSU slot than the S1 and hey, it should be a good piece of kit if you get that S3 upgrade kit from Bitmaintech!

    Congratulations. That is awesome.

I'll keep peeking out the door for mine. I know they'll be here soon.  Smiley

The box and the shipping label were delicious BTW.

I call "shenanigans". After all, where is the photographic proof that he ate the box? Grin

I can confirm my S3 from BAN has arrived.

Cheers s0br.

    Woohoo!!! That's great!!! Congratulations!!!

The S3 that I won just came in! Thank you SO much. I'll post a picture soon!

If you don't mind my asking, which delivery service delivered it?

Whoah that's pretty badass. Did you ever get some email notification of it being shipped? Anyway, congrats!

I haven't yet. How about you, thebebopfunk?

I'm new to this pool but I'm still mining. The website is up right now but extremely slow for me, any others having the same problem? No payments yet either.

Yes, and I'd encourage you to be patient.

35  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: PBmining - legit? on: August 22, 2014, 02:43:02 PM
I got involved with them back in February I think it was. I haven't done the math but I think I have broke even or am quite close to it. Either way without more transparency I would not recommend them. Payments have been on time etc. but in my 5+ months in the bit coin universe it has been proven that on time payments don't mean the service is legit.

    You are right.

I did do some math, and I calculated that it will take just under 6 months to break even. I could be off with my estimates, but that is what I came up with.
36  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: mining.BitcoinAffiliatenetwork.com - we're giving away 1 Antminer S3 every day! on: August 22, 2014, 01:56:23 PM
This is the first time though, that website been down for so long that I can recall with no payouts. As much as its worked in the past, temporarily I have taken my hash off as well after about 8 hours or so. If anyone hears what is going on from s0br, or anyone else who knows what is happening please let us know. If everything is okay I will move my hash right back over, thanks in advance!
last update I seen on the pool it showed the pool at @1.3PH so it looks a few people have moved their miners. s0br has always come thru so I will just leave my miners here.

I agree with you. Some folks are a bit overly skittish, and that is their prerogative, but history has shown that s0br always delivers 100%... well, actually 112.5%.  Grin
37  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: mining.BitcoinAffiliatenetwork.com - we're giving away 1 Antminer S3 every day! on: August 22, 2014, 12:00:55 PM
Looks like all my shares from the last 6 hours were discarded. Sad

I am still seeing my "Accepted" count grow.

It doesn't matter where I mine, I get the same results with discards. My AntMiner S2s always show high discard counts. They even outnumber the "Accepted" count. However, my Dragon miner has a very low discard rate.
38  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: Using OpenDNS Instead of ISP on: August 22, 2014, 11:46:40 AM
Hi,

Use Google's DNS servers. They are free, and have never let me down.

        8.8.8.8
        8.8.4.4

Just as long as it's not the "Underpants Gnomes" business plan, I think s0br will be doing great.

Honestly, he seems like a hard working individual, and that is a key component to many ideas that became successful realities.

Still cant get into the pool. Really wanna see what kind of enhancement he is making LOL

Me too. Also, I just put all of my 1 Th/s miners in a colocation facility, and I'd like to look at the performance graphs.
