I dont want to clutter the thread with nicehash discussion if it bothers ck or anyone, so i tried to direct message you, but you dont accept from newbies. Here is what i tried to say: It is only showing zero because the mining power is going to the highest bids. PhillipMa bid a very low amount, so he is not being overcharged (smart/the correct way to rent on nicehash). Therefore, he has to wait patiently until the high bids have all their btc used up, then miners will migrate to lower bids and eventually he will get his hashes. It is ok to temporarily have no hashpower. IT means you are not overpaying. Each individual hash (or "share") is a shot at solving a block. Whether you have them all sequentially right away, or whether you have a little, then you have zero, then you have a little, etc. Is the same. As long as you get the total number of shares by the end, you got what you paid for. But CK is certainly right that many many people rent and never solve a block, compared to the few people who rent and do solve a block. So don't think it will be easy to just rent and get rich. ![Smiley](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/smiley.gif)

I personally have not found blocks while renting solo on nice hash. But i have sent a fair amount of btc to my nicehash wallet to try! I was super lucky to be a member of Willi's block party a few runs ago, when we found a block ![Cool](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/cool.gif) . I think it was 12 people who contributed to the group rental and split the reward. It was block 780525. ![Grin](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/grin.gif) I have seen several people hit by renting. You can see if you look back far enough in this thread. There was a person from russia who only rented 5PH and hit, within the last couple months, but then he posted that due to some virus or malware, someone stole most of his BTC ![Sad](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/sad.gif) . Also you can see from past posts that someone renting a huge amount of hashpower hit two blocks, not too long ago. That person never stepped forward, but they certainly have balls of steel for how much they spent on rental, as was noted above by others. It paid off though with two blocks! It is definitely possible. but it is a gamble. If your electric rate is too high for home or hosted mining, you are better off just renting on nicehash, in my opinion. You have to be careful not to overpay on nicehash though. The mining power goes to the highest bidder, and some people overpay, especially recently. So you have to bid a reasonable amount, and be patient to wait and get your hashes once the overpriced bids run out. I would guess that many, if not most, of the 273 solved blocks on the pool are from rentals.

Oh that is probably it. If you are lucky, when enough time elapses you will be fine to go ahead with rental, without needing their help. I accidentally locked my account at one point and reset my password, and I was unable to place orders for a period of time due to password reset, and it wore off automatically and I didn't need to wait to hear back from them. Good luck!

I was reading about the NiceHash team mining. It seems like they have copied your business model, Willi ![Cheesy](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/cheesy.gif) . However, i would warn anyone who wants to try it... You can purchase into the team mining without having passed "KYC Tier 2". But to claim your winnings if your team happens to find a block, you have to complete their "KYC tier 2" process. I am not sure what all that entails. To create a nicehash account in the first place, there was some amount of providing information. This goes above and beyond that. For this reason I think i prefer the old way of renting their hashpower but mining to a solopool on my own, not going through NiceHash's team mining, which mines to NiceHash's pool.

From the CK solo thread. I participated with your block party run in the past, but it has been a while. I can't remember exactly which run numbers. I did a .01 x 5 once, in early or mid 2022 I believe. And i did a .01 x 2 another time i think. Anyways good luck to us and thanks for your efforts.

Great, I just sent the coins, here is my template. Thanks and good luck. I guess I pick 25PH over 20PH, just because the difficulty adjustments are always upwards lately (maybe due to newer models being put into service continuously) and maybe this way we'll get our attempts in sooner, before it is more difficult. In another group i have rented with, several weeks ago we had a 33T share when the difficulty was 35T ![Sad](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/sad.gif) . +++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ Groupbuy Wallet: bc1qlpd45688hce39lusur8sdnuzy3z2dx4uvrgpkt Return Wallet: bc1q97tw3y8av7jfccghx9sav3e07kvtcc5x3k9qfq Your stake: .01 Reservation: 2x Your TX: 326dde6c52342fe50299ee29b986aab6dc862e38f945f378ced7e3414ded52bf Voting comment: 25 +++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

Josek i would also point out, in the ckpool stats, the "shares" number is not actually the quantity of shares. Rather, it is the quantity of shares times the difficulty. The CKpool stats do not show the difficulty. But your miners stats should show it. For example, if you mine with a low hashpower gekkoscience compac f (or several of them), when you first start mining, you will notice in cgminer that the difficulty is set to 10,000. That is too high of a difficulty for just a few terahash. So eventually the difficulty lowers to a couple thousand. But when it is 10k, there are fewer shares showing up in cgminer. This is a function of how the pool assigns work to the miners. It assigns as much work as your compac F's can handle. So while the difficulty is 10k, there are fewer shares. But once it adjusts to like 2k, there are more shares. That is just how the pool works to assign work to the miners and to estimate the haspower. You are trying to compare your miner's stats to ckpool stats. Its kind of apples to oranges because ckpool shows the total diffculty (number of shares times difficulty per share) while your miners stats show thq quantity of shares, and separately the difficulty. I may not be explaining this well but i have seen good explanations on the bitcointalk forums.
