21  Local / India / Re: [Discussion] Hardware wallet in India on: June 15, 2023, 04:33:13 AM
I ordered jade wallet for 65$+12$ shipping from official website. No customs was charged! I have yet to setup as i am apprehensive.

I would reccomend you burn your wallet.dat file in dvd drive as it is EMP proof. In an event of carrington event solar flare or nuke war, all electronics will be kaput.

24  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: Having issues connecting electrum with bitcoin with bwt after updating core on: April 29, 2023, 08:31:45 AM
Ok i went back to 22.1.0 and now it is working.
I think the core version 23,24 changed some things and that i why it is not working. Can i raise this issue to the dev team?

this is now i get
INFO bwt » bwt v0.2.4 connected to /Satoshi:22.1.0/ on main at height 787462
INFO bwt::indexer » completed initial sync in 10.3094ms up to height 787462 (total * transactions and * addresses)
INFO bwt::electrum » Electrum RPC server running on 127.0.0.1:53741:t (protocol 1.4)
INFO bwt::electrum » [127.0.0.1:53743] connected peer

also are there any drawback using 22.1.0 version?
25  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: Having issues connecting electrum with bitcoin core after updating core on: April 29, 2023, 08:27:11 AM
Probably not the answer you're expecting, but since the last development in that plugin was 2 years ago, it may be significantly less effort for you to just use Electrs (or blockstream's fork in case you want to use it out of your LAN) as server.

And if you skip the few Windows specifics, this topic shows you the steps for installing Electrs.

I am comfortable with bitcoin core acting as my node and giving info to softwares like bisq, electrum.

26  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Having issues connecting electrum with bitcoin with bwt after updating core on: April 29, 2023, 08:13:32 AM
I have been using bitcoin core with plugin BWT to connect with my electrum( plugin is installed in electrum plugin folder). After a lot of efforts i was able to link electrum with bitcoin core as a single server using bwt plugin. https://github.com/bwt-dev/bwt-electrum-plugin

Now since i updated from bitcoin core 22.1.0 to to 24 version, i am getting errors.
Here is the error message in electrum plugin

INFO bwt » thread 'peer' panicked at 'called `Option::unwrap()` on a `None` value', src/util/mod.rs:33:45
INFO bwt::electrum » [127.0.0.1:53256] connected peer

Due to security issues the plugin only connects with cold wallet file of electrum.

Can anyone help me in this?

29  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Announcing the FutureBit Apollo BTC - A Full Node/Mining Platform for the Home! on: April 11, 2023, 01:41:02 PM
Any updates on the new version of the Apollo?

Can you update us regularly with pics and specs

What nm tech node will it have
T'\hash viz wattage?
etc
30  Bitcoin / Mining / Why dont BTC hardware manu re release old equip with smaller node. EDIT: heatbit on: April 10, 2023, 04:32:04 PM
I am talking about how sony re releases their playstation console with the same specs but will smaller nm tech and consuming less power.

Why cant Bitmain or others create S9 antminer which is based on 5nm and lets say consume 1/3 of energy compare to the original 16nm s9?

Watching this interview buy saifedean ammos is very insightful on what the future of mining will be like. Decentralized mining by the avg joe using asic miners which dont take 1K-3KW power
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Z2Znc5zkIhk

Right now the manufacturers are catering towards the big boys who can operate farms. To make BTC more decentralised, the old mining hardware should be released with smallertech node.
10T\hash @ 700W would be a start.

Apollo and merch have 1-3T\HASH mining hardware but the hardware is not upto the mark and after sales is not that good.

Imagine having a S9i @ 13.5T/hash @ 5nm which only consumes 400W backed by a solar power system.

EDIT: My prayers have been answered!

34  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Can i post satoshi posts in other forums here? on: October 16, 2022, 01:30:21 PM
Hi Guys,
I have a couple of threads by a person claiming to be  satoshi who allegedly  posted in 2013/2014 in a conspiracy forum. Can i post the threads here so users can use discernment and discuss the veracity of his claims?

He always posted his key as

I have one more suggestion which i had posted earlier.

I'm afraid that idea will be a little more difficult to implement (I hope I'm wrong). Unlike your first idea, this would require serious coding to add a patch like this to SMF. Maybe in BitcoinTalk 2.0?

I am not a coder or have knowledge about coding and I agree with FatFork that it will be difficult or need serious coding and many of the thread is that some forum user may post/reply in the same thread more than once. If someone can create a code that is not complicated or doesn't take too much work/effort to make the code that also work or there's a code already that is used already that work the same way and will only need to edit a bit/add more code then I think it won't make someone to put more effort or work to make the suggestion happen and possibly implemented by theymos plus it should be applicable/possible to add in SMF 1.1.19 just like the OP indicator implementation. What about the code that TryNinja used in his Telegram Bitcointalk Super Notifier? Then start coding which it will automatically add/make the link of the new post from the same poster into a hyperlink just like the example below and a code to display it in the top corner of the post that the forum user posted as suggested by OP. My thought of how it would look like if it is implemented Grin. Anyway, let's wait and see if PowerGlove would also create code for this suggestion as well.

YESSS. Thanks for opening the spark that will start the fire!!

it would have been more easier when skimming through the thread just to see only OP posts.
You can write a userscript to change that. Or just use CTRL-F and type " (OP)".

That defeats the entire purpose of having OP in the first place

it should be A choice with a slight change aka (OP)  and not (OP) as A choice.

37  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Will satoshi come back and give his 1 million btc to users of this forum if BTC on: September 17, 2022, 06:51:38 AM
if BTC is no longer valuable and becomes like token?

I have heard that he mined 1 million btc and was hoping that BTC would have converted the entire financial system in 10 years.
IF his project fails what would he do with those coins?

I have one more suggestion which i had posted earlier.
I have another idea!. Have a down arrow next to a person reply which states"jump to next post of the user". An up arrow can also be used to see the users previous post in the same thread.

eg
https://www.godlikeproductions.com/forum1/message5146777/pg1

see the top right corner where there are 2 arrows. IF you click the down arrow image, it will take you to the persons next post. Pretty ingenious!.

Thanks for implementing my suggestion. However by making it in BOLD it would have been more easier when skimming through the thread just to see only OP posts. THe fact the the OP font is same as others makes it discerning more difficult.
We can try it as an experiment and see the feedback.

also i had suggested another feature where you would click a down or up arrow in the post message to jump to next post of the specific user in that thread.
