I'm not sure if this is really a wise advice. What do you mean we have to make sure we're installing only the wallets listed under the Wallet software child board? Is that child board even vetting crypto wallets and decide that only the best will make it on the list? BlueWallet, for example, is highly recommended and it's not on that child board. And what do you mean "don't install wallet with many coins"? Do you realize that Mycelium, for example, which is listed on that child board, is a multi-coin wallet? I bold the PC in the thread. (mycelium for PC?) Also, I never heard that BlueWallet , what kind of wallet it is?. I did quite agree with you, because the forum is not 100% safe for everyone, and we should not solely depend on the wallets listed there.
If the forum is not 100% safe for everyone (where satoshi born and create this) there is no outside better than here. I can only trust two wallet, Bitcoin core and electrum,

This is attention for beginners who are new in Bitcoin and want to create a new wallet (software) on a PC or Laptop. You are right If you come here, because here, we have a lot of community that can help you if have a problem with your Bitcoin wallet. But, before continuing, you have to make sure to install the wallet listed in Child Boards. Don't install anything wallet outside the forum. Because this forum create 2009 and trusted, and On that Child Boards you can find wallet where listed from 2012, which means, that wallet is old and many people use that and trusted. Just install wallet in what you need, If you have bitcoin, just install a wallet only Bitcoin aplication, don't install wallet with many coins inside like trust wallet, don't do that!. that is suck. just waste you time and memory. there's no point in keeping shit coins on your wallet, instead, it will make your life unlucky, believe me, altcoins make your life unhappy. |

I was change the target into D disk, but when I restart the PC, bitcoin core success auto running, but it doesn't on the target, the core running on C disk (create new wallet like begining install)).
How to make it auto running on the D disk target when turning my PC?
Did you find solution to your problem from the above mentioned replies? If you are still battling with same issue I would also suggest that you do this, especially on a windows PC. It's not worked I got problem with shortcut The folder " C:\...................." -datadir=..........' spesified in the start in box is not valid. Make sure that the folder exist and tha the path is correct. But, it's worked after I made it (start in) as default and change the target only. |

I write my electrum private seed on the piece of paper and save it with me but i fear that someone near to me may read that paper and get access to the wallet. So i copied the wallet file on my usb and also write the seed in notepad in that usb.
There is no point in copying if someone finds out your seed because he can still access that seed concurrently. Creating another copy is just for 2nd backup, not protecting you from thieves. To protect it, create 2 or 3 layers of security, not to create too many copied seed. |

I accidentally see a Bitcoin address from a member here, and see there is a big difference in the number of characters. I see there are 42 and 62 characters.
I don't want to show that address, but I will give an example:
1. bc1qtt02jvsppq0dspclxw5u68zpuupjmy60q2jnjz (42 characters)
2. bc1qtxh2pn4ea5yhevpdyaevtrl04d3le9yu2p4z60c0fqsfyc0fwswsscza7x (62 characters)

No.1 is the address which type of standard wallet where I got it from Electrum wallet, and
No.2 is the address which type Multi-signature wallet which I got it from Electrum wallet also.
So, is longer safer?
it depends on you, but it should be safer because Multi-signature wallet needs more 1 cosigner seed or key to access the wallet.
The hacker wouldn't be able to access it if they only have 1 key and seed where you and other people keep it in different places.
