21  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Fathers should get equal paternity leave. on: November 04, 2024, 02:43:46 PM
I don't agree with this. The maternity leave is given because they gave birth or are about to give birth, not because they need to support a family member or something. The man is not giving birth. Except he's in a line of work where he doesn't see his family every day like soldiers that deploy or those that work offshore, other than that, there's no point in a paternity leave. He spends his work-free hours with his wife and family and gives them all the help they need. In case of an emergency, he can easily leave work and go home or wherever he's required.
I don't see a need for a paternity leave, plus they need the full salary especially during that period where the wife cannot work
22  Economy / Economics / Re: Businesses to venture into on: November 04, 2024, 01:38:57 PM
This is not as easy as it sounds. You might go into it and not get any clients. I'm not trying to be a pessimist but I'm trying to be realistic.
For a business that you are just starting in the festive/holiday period, you should know there are people who do this as their major source of income and they've been doing it for years, so I doubt many clients will choose to trust you that just started over brands they've known for a long time. Starting a business is not always as easy as it's painted to be, especially this one that's just for a short time.

People won't call you to do their decoration if they don't have a strong recommendation or past work you've done. No matter how good you may be, they need proof. The same goes for food and souveniers. There are many people in the line of work, especially in a time like this, so if you want to succeed in that line of business, you have to be ready to do something different.
23  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: UEFA Champions League 2024/25 Season on: November 03, 2024, 11:28:35 PM
Madrid is the favorite in this match, because I don't see how Milan can deprive them from scoring goals in order for them to win the game. We saw what Madrid did to Dortmund in their last match, and I expect the same thing to happen against Milan when they meet. Madrid do take their Champions League matches seriously, because that is what they are meant for.

Madrid are favourites and I expect them to win, but we can't use Dortmund as a yardstick. When Dortmund took the game to Madrid in the first half of that game, they made Madrid clueless and couldn't do anything. In the second half, Dortmund started defending and they took out an attacker for an inexperienced defender and that was where their problems began. If they had kept taking the game to Madrid maybe they would have scored more goals.
Milan is not in a good form but if Dortmund can play Madrid that well in the first half, then Milan can do it too.
Let's not forget that Madrid is not in excellent form too. Yeah, they're winning games, but there struggling still. They lost to Lille, so they're not impossible for Milan to beat even though it's at the Bernabeu.
24  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Why do men prefer watching football games in a view center or Beer parlor? on: November 03, 2024, 08:31:33 PM
Watching football alone or watching in a beer parlor/view center?

I actually prefer watching football at home. It doesn't matter whether I'm alone or watching it with others, but I just prefer the comfort of my home.
When I was younger I used to enjoy watching in public but as I grew older, I appreciated bein alone more. I watch a lot of matches, like today I've watched about 5 matches and I watched all of them at home. It gives me a better serenity to analyze the game better. In public places, you can't analyse the game the way you want because of the noise and distractions, but when I'm alone, I see everything and I'm calmer to analyse the game. This helps me a lot when I'm making future bets or simply just knowing why the game is the way it is.
Having 2 or 3 friends over to watch the game with me is also cool, but I do not like going out to watch games.
25  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2024/2025 on: November 02, 2024, 06:41:18 PM
Liverpool won 2-1 and Manchester City lost 1-2.
Just a different situation.

Liverpool is looking like the more serious team of the top 3. They have been consistent enough and even when they do not play exceptionally well, they still manage to get wins. Manchester City have been struggling lately, but they have been winning, but today was not that day. Bournemouth were just too brilliant. They did everything well. If they had taken their chances they would have even scored more than 2 goals. Usually, when teams take the lead against Manchester City going into the second half, they defend, but Bournemouth didn't do that, instead, they took the game to City and got a second goal and were looking for a third to seal the game. Good game form Bournemouth, they really deserve that win.

Injuries are going to be a problem for Manchester City this season. Without Rodri, they don't look calm and calculated like they used to. Maybe they will find a way to get better but before they do it might be too late because Liverpool don't look like they'll take a break anytime soon.

As for Arsenal, I don't think they're in the race anymore. Their performance just keeps getting worst. They miss Odegaard and they don't have enough creativity in the midfield to real teams. Saka is the only real threat up front and he can be boxed out. Martinelli and Trossard are just not good enough.
26  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: UEFA Champions League 2024/25 Season on: November 01, 2024, 10:20:48 PM
Why 28th?
Take not that teams finishing the league phase at 9th to 24th places will go to knockout round play-offs and teams finishing the league phase at 25th to 36th places will be eliminated from the champions league.
Both are mistakes that have been corrected. Thanks.

However, it is not too late to make it, but they can’t afford to lose much match which looks impossible on paper but we know how football work sometimes.
Despite the fact that they will play Bayern Munich and Manchester City as the top big teams among their opponents in the Champions League, I think they can still get something out of these two games if they played really well.

In my opinion, it's too late for them. They can't make it to the top 8 anymore but they can try and finish the league phase among the top 24 and have a playoff. There is no way they will have enough points to be in the top 8 when they have Bayern Munich and Manchester City to play. Even if City are plunged with injuries, that match will be played next year and by then a lot of City players will be available.

Defeating Atletico Madrid will not be easy for PSG because the team is struggling to score goals and Atletico Madrid knows how defend game, therefore, if the score PSG first, it might be game over for them because they hardly concede goals much. And Atletico Madrid will also be looking for ways to get three points against them because they needed the points more than PSG as they only have three points out of possible nine points.

Atletico Madrid is also a struggling team so it's hard to predict. PSG have the advantage of playing at home, but then again, we saw how they couldn't win against PSV at home. PSV is a very in form team unlike Atletico Madrid though. The game might likely be a draw too.
27  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: UEFA Champions League 2024/25 Season on: November 01, 2024, 06:49:44 PM
Why is nobody talking about PSG in the Champions League? There is a big chance they won't make it to the round of 16 of the Champions League. They have managed only 4 points in 3 matches and sit in the 19th position, a few positions away from being knocked out of the playoffs positions. But that's not the most interesting past, the most interesting part is that they still have to play Atletico Madrid, Bayern Munich, Manchester City and Stuttgart. The only team that's a small team here is Stuttgart and even they are very difficult to beat. Atletico Madrid is in poor form but they would be a very difficult match for PSG because they too want to turn their season around.
I don't see PSG wining any of Bayern or Man City

PSG's next match is against Atletico Madrid and if they're not able to win that game, they will be in so much trouble because that will see them drop beyond the 24th position. They need to wake up if they want to make it to the round of 16.
28  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Eredivisie 23/24 - discussion thread on: November 01, 2024, 02:57:04 PM
Ajax vs PSV is going to be interesting game because this will give all how things will be in coming weeks for the title race right now PSV is having good edge but now current Ajax performance can bring good surprise for the fans and PSV as well because things are looking pretty good for the Ajax as they are playing in last few games.

I think a big advantage Ajax have in this game is that they'll be playing at home. With the current form of PSV, I wouldn't have given Ajax a chance if they were away from home.
The problem with Ajax in recent games is that they waste too many goal-scoring opportunities. If they can be able to score the chances they get the chances they get, they have a chance to win the game.

The match will determine how the title race will look like because PSV have played a game more than Ajax and if Ajax can win this game and win their outstanding they will reduce the point difference to about 2 points, giving them more motivation. PSV on the other hand will want to extend their lead by adding 3 more points and making the point difference 11 points with a game more.
I think more pressure is on AJax to win this game.
29  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Eredivisie 23/24 - discussion thread on: October 31, 2024, 10:36:50 PM
The game concluded with Ajax winning 2-0. Quite obviously, Feyenoord's fans were massively disappointed. There's nothing worse than seeing your team losing at home to the archrivals.
It was not as one-sided show as it may seem. Feyenoord had higher possession and almost twice as many shots on goal as Ajax, but it's largely due to the Amsterdam team focussing on defence and counterattacks after getting that early 2-0 lead.

I did not expect Ajax to win that game because even though they seem to be getting back to their best, they always struggle against good teams and Feyernood is a pretty decent team.
Ajax have been doing well although they made me lose over the weekend because I played them to score at least 2 goals, but they were only able to score 1 goal which was very disappointing because they're at home and were playing Weillem who isn't such a big side.
What was more annoying was the fact that they scored really early in that game and I was certain they would get a second goal, but they didn't.

Against PSV, I don't think Ajax will win. PSV is in a massive form and they will win anybody they face right now. I think the best option will be to bet on both teams to score. I haven't looked at the odds but I believe it wont be that big.
30  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The fee is ridiculously high. on: October 31, 2024, 10:51:08 AM
This is one of the reasons why I think bitcoin will never be able to become a popular currency, payment method, bitcoin is not absolutely perfect as we think, it's just that many people don't want to accept that.

That wasn't the discussion of the post I quoted. The discussion was that the network fees have gone back to normal.
On this forum and elsewhere, I have often complained about high network fees. I have talked about how high network fees can be an issue for bitcoin adoption. I don't think there's any logical person that says bitcoin is perfect.
I have always maintained that Bitcoin was supposed to be cheaper and faster than other payment methods. However, people won't use Bitcoin as a payment method if it's more expensive or takes longer than other methods. So yeah, I agree that we need a solution to that because it will happen again in the future.
31  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The Possibility Of An Altcoin To Overcome Bitcoin Is Very Rare. on: October 31, 2024, 07:19:20 AM
1. The fake way
When cryptocurrencies are sorted based on their market capitalization, it is trivial to surpass Bitcoin. Shitcoins such as Ripple, Ethereum, Tether, etc are the living proof that a shitcoin can have a massive fake market cap. All it takes is a huge supply that only releases a small portion of it to the public to be in circulation followed by a strong pumping team with a lot of money to inflate the price of that shitcoin. Then you have yourself an altcoin that ranks #1 in the list sorted by market cap. That altcoin will have no utility though!

I have said this countless times. If you look at the top coins on CMC, you'll see coins like Shiba inu in the top 10. This is a coin whose price is not even up to $0.0005 but because it has a circulating supply of trillions of coins, it is above coins like Monero. I always tell people not to fall for that. It's obvious a coin like that will never become anything because when you have that kind of supply, the supply will always be more than the demand, making the coin have very little value if it has any value at all.

The reason why we haven't seen that so far is because everyone is interested in making money so they create shitcoins like ethereum with tens of millions of premined coins so that they can become rich overnight.
In comparison Satoshi's goal was to innovate and solve problems. The altcoin devs' goal is to make money not innovate.

As long as a coin is centralised and has an unlimited supply, it will stand no chance against Bitcoin. Even if the coin was decentralised and had a limited supply as long as it is owned by somebody or a company, it stands no chance against Bitcoin.
Coins like Cardano that have a limited supply have so many coins in circulation that the supply is way more than the demand. They have 45 billion coins as a limited supply. With that much coin in such short period there's no way the supply will not exceed the demand especially since it offers nothing different from other altcoins.
32  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Ballon d'Or discussion and odds on: October 31, 2024, 06:44:51 AM
And these particular picture posted by my other colleagues says it all, to them it was very deserving when Luka modric won it in 2018 in stead of cristiano Ronaldo, now it doesn't goes their way, they are just busy whining.

What's even funnier about all these is the fact that Vinicius legit does not deserve the award. We all watched football last season, we saw how each player performed. people are fooled by the fact that Vini was exciting against Man City, Bayern and Dortmund in the later stages of the UCL. You can't win the ballon dor because of your performance in just 5 or 6 matches, it's just wrong.
Bellingham was the Madrid player that should have won the award, but Madrid forgot about him and pushed Vini because of those performances.

From the beginning of the season till the end of March, Vini was having a regular season. He was injured and he came back and was just a usual player. In the top 5 ranking of the Ballon dor that Madrid newspaper published, Bellingham was leading the race. He was consistent all season, saving Madrid time and again till those final matches in the UCL.

The season ended and they both went to their various national teams and Vini was beyond awful for Brazil. You had wingers like Raphina and Rodrygo outshining him so much. He had only one good game in the Tournament. Bellingham on the other hand led his team to the final of the Euro.
I can say that Rodri had a better season than Bellignham, but I would respect the opinion of a person who believes Bellignham had a better season, but Vinicius shouldn't be in the top 2.
In fact, if we're being honest and fair, Lautaro Martinez had a better season than all of Rodri, Vini and Bellingham. Madrid and Vini need to stop the whining and move on.
33  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The fee is ridiculously high. on: October 31, 2024, 05:46:12 AM
It won't last too long and except what happened in 2023 with many months of expensive fees, in other waves from Ordinals, Runes, Bitcoin mempools did not stay at too expensive range for several months.

And it didn't last long at all. It has even gone lower than the 5sat/vb
This happened in the past week and it took only about a day to go back to normal. If not for this post I wouldn't have noticed that transaction fees were so high yesterday.
I don't think the bull run is a reason for high fees. Normal bitcoin transactions, no matter how many they are per minute, will mostly not lead to congestion and ridiculously high network fees, but ordinals and runes that are spammed every second are the major causes of network congestion and high fees.
34  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Trust wallet attempt phishing be careful on: October 30, 2024, 09:33:06 PM
First of all, you should know that Trust Wallet doesn't have your email. You created your wallet without any emails or passwords so how come they're sending you an email? Every update and notification they want to send gets sent in the app.
I think you shouldn't have even bordered to click the link because it might be a malicious link that might pass virus onto your device.
When you receive emails like that, after reading and confirming that it's a scam, just block the sender and report it as a scam so the email gets blocked.
35  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Don't bet against the public? on: October 30, 2024, 08:02:41 PM
As a gambler or bettor, you can't decide to always bet against the public, the same way you can't always decide to bet with the public. There is no law that you always have to bet on the favourite, you bet on the person or team you feel or think will win. There are times when you can decide to go against the favourite and times when you decide to go with the favourite

Take the last El classic game for example, the favourite was Real Madrid and the whole world expected Madrid to win, but I knew Barcelona would win that game and I went with Barcelona. I didn't want to risk much because it was certain and that made me not fund my rollbit account that much.
Going against the public is not something that should be done often because it's not often the favourite loses. It has to be calculated.
36  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Crypto recovery fraud on: October 30, 2024, 05:44:01 PM
Not all crypto recovery services are scams, but legit ones are rare.

Until I have been proven wrong, there is no way I would believe there is a crypto recovery service that is legit. To me, 100% of the time, recovery services are a fraud.
With the way crypto works, you can't take coins out of a wallet if you don't have access to that wallet. You can either hack the wallet in some way with viruses or whatever or find a way to have access to the wallet, but you can't take money out of an account unless the person who has that wallet authorizes it.
So with this, how exactly do they want to recover the coin? They can trace the address and someone find the details of the person who stole the coins and report him to the authorities, but they cannot recover those coins on their own.

I have not heard of any coin where a third party can make a transfer or reverse a transfer.
The only people that can recover stolen coins are exchanges and that coin has to be stolen from that exchange. If the coins are still in the exchange account, they can recover it but if it has already been moved out of the wallet, all they can do is mark that address and coins and report the culprit to the authorities since they already have his details through KYC.
Again, I say, if I'm proven wrong I will change my mind, but until then, 100% of crypto recovery services are scams.

There's a difference between seed phase recovery and crypto recovery.
What btcrecover does is help you recover your seed phase if you can remember some of the words, but they can't help you recover your stolen coins.
37  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin All-Time High almost reached yesterday on: October 30, 2024, 03:43:28 PM
I believe this is not the last wave we can maybe see soon the new ATH unless if there's a heavy selling pressure at that area.

Now that people have seen that the price could reach $100k and above, I doubt many people will sell. On the contrary, I believe more people would buy, taking the price up further.
For now, I believe the price will fluctuate around $70k+ region and then in the next wave it might get to 80k.
I am optimistic but I don't believe we will see $100k this year. If we look at how bitcoin is increasing so far, it's gradually. It's not just going to go from 70k to 100k in about 2 months. When Bitcoin does that from history we know it will correct itself and dip again, but its sustainable when it goes up gradually.
38  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Ballon d'Or discussion and odds on: October 30, 2024, 03:17:03 PM
It’s incredible that this is the first Ballon d’Or in a long time that doesn’t have Ronaldo and Messi in it yet their names are still being dragged into the argument of this year’s Ballon d’Or winner. Rodri deserves the award, it’s my opinion and it’s objective. There are many more people who share the same opinion as me and that’s how Rodri won the Ballon d’Or. I don’t like the way Real Madrid fans and Barcelona are going about this matter, Vini is an amazing player and I think he deserves a Ballon d’Or but this year is Rodri’s.

I agree that Rodri deserves the award. He was consistent in every match he played last season from the beginning to the end. The om[only match he got a rating lower than 7.5 is the match in the premier league where he got a red card, other than that he was instrumental in every game he played with both Spain and Manchester City.
My problem is people that try to talk down in the award because their favourite didn't win it. Talking about how the award fell off and how it's rigged and shouldn't be taken seriously by anybody. All these won't be said if their favourite player had won it.

Look at how Real Madrid is behaving very unprofessionally. When Modric won the award over Ronaldo, who had just left the club and joined Juventus, they didn't say it was rigged so their player could win. All these shenanigans from Madrid and the fans are so unnecessary.
39  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Ballon d'Or discussion and odds on: October 29, 2024, 09:57:23 PM
Nobody mentioned Ronaldo, stop talking to the voices in your head.
Just try to come back to reality a little bit. The reality is that yes, when Messi played in Barcelona (with Xavi and Iniesta) he had mind-blowing statistics. The problem is that without them he was just trash (2010 World Cup) or mediocre (2011 America's Cup). At the same time, Xavi and Iniesta without Messi remained at an incredible level and won three major tournaments in a row - two European Championships + the World Cup. This is a legendary achievement for which it is difficult to come up with any comparison. You can write whatever you want, but that's the reality, they didn't need Messi, he was literally replaceable by any average player.

Can you listen to yourself? How do you convince yourself that you're making sense? The "Messi can't succeed without Xavi and Iniesta or Barcelona's system" gimmick in 2024? For real?  Grin.
Without Xavi and Iniesta Messi went on to win three more ballon d'ors. That same thing that Xavi and Iniesta did with Spain? Messi did it with Argentina. He won the Copa America back to back and also won the world cup.
Iniesta and Xavi are legends of the game, I consider them the two best midfielders in the sport, but trying to use them to discredit Messi will always be funny.  Grin because Messi's success outside of Barcelona with Argentina and now Inter Miami shows that Messi is that guy.
People use the lack of international trophies to clown Messi or those yeas, now that he has won every single one of them, they act like it doesn't matter.
40  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Ballon d'Or discussion and odds on: October 29, 2024, 09:22:54 PM
You've been brainwashed, you're completely out of touch with reality  Grin

2008-2012: Xavi and Iniesta won everything Messi did at club level + became European Champions twice + World Champions.
Messi screwed up at the 2010 World Cup without them, and was a dull thing at the 2011 Copa America.

Ronaldo fans and pushing bullshit narrative just to make themselves feel good. Lmao.
You should tell this to somebody who doesn't watch football, not me that has been heavily invested in football since 2007.

Not you mentioning 2008 like Messi won the Ballon Dor in 2008. It just shows you clearly don't know what you're talking about but you want to talk and try to play down what Messi achieved  Grin
Kaka won the Ballon Dor in 2007 and Ronalo won it in 2008. Messi won it from 2009 to 2012 and in all these years the only person you can make a case for is Iniesta and that was because of the 2010 World Cup where Spain won in South Africa.
But then you also have to remember that Iniesta did not win the golden ball (MVP) of that tournament. Meaning, he was not the best player in the tournament so how could he win the ballon dor? Diego Forlan was the best player in that tournament.

Or do you want to talk about 2012 when Messi scored 91 goals in a calendar year and 70 goals and 30 assists that season? Do you know what it means for one player to have 100 goals and assists a season?
Please tell that bullshit narrative to someone else, not me. I watched football with my own eyes and I know what I'm saying.

The ballon dor is always rigged when Messi wins it but it's not rigged when Ronaldo won despite not winning a single trophy over Frank Ribbery who won a treble that season.
