All you all have done so far is throw blind accusations at Maria without much more than scuttlebutt and rumors.

This "trust no one" mantra has gotten a little to extreme.

With that said, I'd like more information about the "code" Maria has generously offered us. Would someone who understands programming code please look into that for us?

This is super interesting.

Thank you, dakami, for the find! I enjoyed your slides.

Is there a way to configure my Bitcoin client to run through Tor? Although I don't expect anyone to attempt to trace any of my addresses, I'm all about privacy and security.

Lastly, would generating a new address for each transaction eliminate this security risk?

I wish this were actually real, though. :-/

Only in Sci-Fi, eh?

But this is ridiculous. I agree with the OP. I read these forums randomly all the time, and have for WEEKS. Yet I still can't post. I've posted in the whitelist thread and apparently didn't have enough reason.

So i suppose I commence with the BS post?

I've been here on the forums for a little while, mostly reading. I mine occasionally and I've bought a few bitcoins for personal use.

I'd really like to be able to reply to the topics in other areas of the Forum that are not "newbie" enabled.

Please consider whitelisting me. Smiley Thanks!

I guess that makes sense. Thanks!

So there's no way to automize the potential of "squatting" on someone else's keys? Or it's not worth the effort because the chances are incredibly slim?

Hello,

So this is my first post, but I have been reading the forums here for a while.

From what I understand, your private keys sitting in your wallet could someday theoretically be "squatted" on by someone randomly generating that same private key. Now I understand that the possibility of this is nearly 1/10^36 or something similarly small.

What's to stop me from writing a script to write a single transaction for 5BTC on a random public key, to an address in my wallet, until something hits?

It seems very susceptible to misuse.
