Will dividends will be paid in Btc, Fiat, or in the coin the shares were purchased with?

Let's make it happen  Smiley.

Will there be an official thread for the blocknet?
24  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [XC][XCurrency] Decentralised Trustless Privacy Platform / Encrypted XChat / Pos on: October 17, 2014, 11:25:31 AM
when will we see the first versions with the UI. I don't need  specific date just some timeframe.

I think alot of people still don'T get the blocknet fully but thats ok. its like the thought of a stateless society. it requires abandoning some old thought processes that have been established through years of public school education and mass media. it takes time. If you don't have that time xc is not an easy place to be atm. if you are willing to stick through the rewards should be massive.

For the team it will be a delicate task to find a middle ground between catering to the conservative needs of investors (progress on the coin itself in a more self centred fashion) and carefully establishing a openminded understanding of the revolutionary concepts getting worked on beyond that.

everybody that is still trying to wrap their had around the blocknet have to start with this thought:

the blocknet is not an entity!
its just the summ of all nodes implementing the Xbridge in a decentralised fashion. nothing goes "through" the blocknet. you can't shut it of. It is to the blockchain of different coins what their blockchain is to their different nodes. Its the biggest step in development since the blockchain itself. i'm repeating myself here to help people understand.

In an ideal  future most coins will have the Xbridge enabled in their wallet. so the same parameters of free market and competition will be in place on the blocknet like on the internet now. So nobody has to fear xc giving of his tech to the blocknet, thats not possible.

^^

Your explanations have really helped many of us understand the benefits and implications of the blocknet. I really appreciate it  Smiley.

A quick question about distribution. With so many people seeking xmixers, do we risk locking up too many coins? Is there a limit to the total number of mixers allowable?
25  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [XC][XCurrency] Decentralised Trustless Privacy Platform / Encrypted XChat / Pos on: October 16, 2014, 04:01:27 PM
Doesnt take alot of balls to point out a fact... you guys will do anything to hype this coin, yet bitcoin magazine, web 2.0 and blocknet doesn't change a thing for it.... Dead coin, hasn't passed 190 in about 3 months probably wont again, and doesnt even have a mac or linux build of most recent wallet... Windows only, dont make me laugh

^^

Hunker down fellas, this is the kind of stuff that we're going to have to deal with. The blocknet challenges the old competitive P&D way of making money. We're going to see a lot of resistance in the guise of FUD and trolling.

This is great for XC, but what is the incentive for participating coins?  Do they pick and choose what features will be offered on blocknet? Why would I use stealthsend or librexsend when I can just use XC's private transactions? Why would I buy Apex coin when I can just buy xc and use xbridge to have access to everything?

Anyone of you having Coins on MintPal

please report here

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=824211.0

Thanks dude I will post there.

I already consider my money there is gone. Probally 4 ish btc. Fuck them

Sorry to hear that, I lost no funds but I was still annoyed about their approach especially this:

Quote from: Alex
thanks for all the fish

where did he post this?

and according to this coindesk articel http://www.coindesk.com/moolah-mintpal-closure-bankruptcy/

Quote from: Plamer
“What saddens me the most is that Moolah took their funding from random Internet-goers as
opposed to rich venture capitalists who can afford to take the risk and financial hit. These ‘investors’
are now in a position where they’ll never see their money again, and have minimal legal recourse.”

I don't get why people invest in companies like this, but i have to admit i don't
get why people invest in kickstarter campains as the people behind
minecraft and oculus rift for example got funded and sold the companies
for some billions afterwards and people that invested get nothing.

The blog has been edited since then but it was originally there yesterday. My twitter about it: https://twitter.com/DrasticRaven/status/522151859608625152 .

Also in kickstarter you aren't investing, you are simply buying a product and that's it. Oh and minecraft never went on Kickstarter.

I was wrong it was just a documentary about it:
https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/2pp/minecraft-the-story-of-mojang

I know how kickstarter works, but i still think, without the early investors there would be no company and therefore i think this investors should get money back.
If the project fails you also loose all your money. So you don't just buy something, you invest imo

Kickstarter doesn't involve investing in the traditional sense. People just put money toward projects they'd like to see come to fruition. The "payoff" is the product actually coming to market, not financial incentives.  Kickstarter campaigns also help in the assessment of market size and interest.

Dan reviewing other coin's code is the best marketing strategy XC could have.

All of the other coin's investor's see their coin's code was reviewed by a guy named Dan, and so they look him up...

This leads them to XC... and because they are already invested in a coin that Dan is reviewing they are more likely to invest in XC.

This is a VERY high yield marketing strategy, and money cannot buy better leads than this.

yeah no.  I see a dev reviewing shitcoins and I see a developer who isn't excited enough about his own project to funnel all of his energy there.

Throw in the fact that the coins are competing - I see a developer who doesn't understand the term conflict of interest.

So no.  That's not what everyone sees.

I see a revolutionary coin and a revolutionary approach to the community. The tech is great and still under heavy development -> so be patient.
The approach to the crypto community is revolutionary in the sense that we as a community take on this financial privacy centered innovation together.
The world has been in conflict ever since the current elite has existed. It has always been a method http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Divide_and_rule to separate the people and getting them not to accomplish their goals and see the real problems.

This is exactly how most people view crypto as well at the moment; they support one team and all the rest is bad. You dont realize this is the revolution the world has been waiting for, for a long time! It's so damn early in the game you actually get to question the development of coins. It's like facebook when they where still programming it. There are no losers in this scene, since everyone here is already aware of these developments.

I understand it's hard to look at this with a new set of eyes, it's a whole new paradigm. (you've learned to view the world in conflict)
Let developers learn and cooperate with each others.
Most coins will fail, but not the lessons they bring the community. We are evolving at a rate that is unlike anything else!
A lot of coins will serve very specific niches of the market. I trust XC with their "odd approach" to make the same kind of gutt based decisions as the team has done until now. I have faith that the coins that cooperate from the view of sharing strengths will boost each other and get this community to an entire new level

There are 2 sides to every coin.  Should I provide the opposing view?

No. This conversation has been had, at length, twice.

The conversation that I'm considering posting goes far beyond code reviews.

Let's hear it.

anyone seen this today? (edit, article is 2 days old, but still) ... (could be bullshit, not looked into it properly, but...)

http://www.businessinsider.com/snapchat-hacked-the-snappening-2014-10

this is bad news (obviously!)

but i couldn't help but think, this is great news for XC!

dunno if its this article, or another I read, but apparently, 4chan are gonna make a way you can search for snapchat pics by username..

ive never used it, but i always thought snapchats selling point was u can send a pic and its gone after a few seconds. apparently these lot have collected all pics for the last year or so.

Anyway, point is, if this is actually happening, we need to make it known we have the perfect solution (or we need to hurry and get it out there) only heard about this on twitter and the above article, so could be bullshit, but if real.... marketing opportunity???

It looks like it was actually a web client for a third-party app that got hacked. It allowed you to save pics from snapchat.

Yeah man, I have to agree with you. These kinds of events definitely provide opportunities for projects like XC to shine.

I predicted a while ago that privacy was going to be big business moving into the future of the internet. I'm glad I was able to discover XC at the time that I did.
30  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [XC][XCurrency] Decentralised Trustless Privacy Platform / Encrypted XChat / Pos on: October 10, 2014, 08:25:26 PM
What does XC's decision-making process look like?

How are meetings handled and by what means (weekly? Daily? Via video conferencing? Email? xchat? etc.)

Will XC adopt a more traditional corporate structure, and if so, do the team members currently have an idea of how where they'll fall within this structure?

What kind of talent will XC inc seek?

Is there a marketing strategy in place for the upcoming products? How will they be positioned against competing products in this space?

I apologize for the barrage of questions. I have more but I don't want to inundate an already busy team. I'm just excited  Smiley  I feel the more prudent investors outside the crypto space like to know such things of a young company.

Man do I miss the old Mintpal!

Volume's been looking pretty nice on Bittrex the last day or so though.

This just reinforces the fact that it's important to get varying perspectives in code reviews  Smiley.

Does XC have an idea of who will be performing its pre-launch reviews?

Has anyone tried withdrawals on mintpal?  Are they working?

How about 2FA?  Do they have that enabled?

My withdrawal went through. Took a bit longer than usual. I successfully enabled 2fa as well.

Has anyone been able to get their XC off of Mintpal after the upgrade?

My withdrawal has been in the "awaiting confirmation" stage for way too long.

i originally abandoned my believe in conspiratively motivated price movements but that latest small sell off made me suspicious again. worst moment to let lose of your xc. i don't expect everybody to believe in the future prices like i do but thats just stupid or agenda driven.

+1 yea me too, hence my hadirated comment above. I think there are hidden Big whales with interests in keeping XC price down I don't know how to explain this anymore it seems everytime there is a major push to suppress the price.. this coin should have been 0.01 since July

And whoever it is can keep on doing it.  They sell when there is a bump and push the price down to where they can buy more...then rinse and repeat.

I have a few theories...one of which is actually a positive one...but there is no point in discussing them.  The only thing that will fix the issue is sufficient volume and I think that it is a matter of time rather than if...

It's more fun discussing the tech and the future incorporation anywayz...

And this is where I think incorporating will be to XC's benefit. Having a recognizable business structure will attract mainstream money, and thus the appropriate volume.  I feel as if XC is lost on most cryptoheads. They know of the project, respect it to some degree, but hesitate to invest.  Maybe we had our chance back in early July to make a stronger impression. I don't know. It's not very relevant now.  XC's break into the mainstream will be what gets the cryptoheads involved again.

Maybe the concept of an entire platform is too much for people to wrap their heads around? Perhaps XC's ambitions are too lofty in their eyes?  It's easier to spam twitter, hyping a simple to understand gimmick. Maybe XC's too "expensive"? Not too sure. What I do know is that we need fresh eyes from the outside on XC. This will require having the team reach out and having sit-down meetings with potential investors, other businesses, etc.  With rev2 finalized, I feel that the project is mature enough to begin approaching, having proven we're not vaporware.  The project is young enough to where investors will feel like they're still getting in on the ground floor.

It's cool seeing news regarding XC published in places like Yahoo finance or Bitcoin Magazine.  But because the whole world of crypto remains shrouded in obscurity, it's hard to measure the impact. I tried reading the Yahoo articles with my "noob glasses" on and there's just no way someone's going to grasp what's going on without the knowing the fundamentals of Bitcoin or blockchain technology. And even then, there's a lot to digest.

Meh, I'm rambling.  My main points are that giving XC a business-like appearance will draw in more investors from the outside, but there needs to be a direct method of approaching and establishing synergies with these investors.

Hey all.

Do I need to do anything special to begin receiving xmixer rewards?
after downloading last wallet:

http://downloads.xc-official.com/testing/XCurrency_2.49c_RC1.exe

you will need to set it up as an xmixer:

you will need to create a shortcut of the app on the desktop and then put the command -distmix-autonode in properties>target to make it start as an xnode.

To create the shortcut go on C:>programs86>xcurrency>click on the xcurrency-qt.exe with right mouse button and click on create shortcut.

When you have the short cut in the desktop click with right mouse button and click on properties then on "target" at the end of the string where you have the " symbol  click space and add -distmix-autonode.

Click on apply.

Then start the app from the short cut and you got your node running.

To be fully working you will need to have the port 32348 of your router open to check if it is open go on this webiste.

http://www.yougetsignal.com/tools/open-ports/

off course you will need to have 1000 xc in the wallet Dan yesterday was saying to transfer the funds 250xc at a time..don't know why

Thanks for the walkthrough, man.

I'm having one hell of a time opening that port though.

I'll keep tinkering.
