22  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Who is Going to the MT Gox Creditor Meeting and What Will You Do If You See Mark on: July 22, 2014, 01:26:33 PM
I dont think I would want to go, and if I did, I probably wouldnt say or do anything if I seen Mark.

I guess you'd be thrown out the court room if you attempted to do anything stupid. We have a more or less functioning legal system in most developed countries in the world for a reason!

I still can envisage bandits wearing inu masks coming at him with spud guns and other symbolic weaponry, maybe a horse's head in the bed..
23  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / ducknote vs monero - what does the future hold? on: July 22, 2014, 10:36:41 AM
so I was wondering, having read a lot about cryptonote recently, whether there's a discussion to be had about ducknote and its pros and cons vs monero? Other debates seem pretty tortuous resulting in flame wars, and I don't want to go down that road, but since ducknote is a promising fork, I was wondering out of interest how it shapes up in the XMR camp? What do you think the long-term holds for them both? I don't especially mean seeing which one's better or worse, just where each excels (and of course if i should buy in big now or not...Wink) Thoughts please!
24  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [XDN] duckNote [ANN]. CryptoNote based. Anonymous and CPU only. on: July 21, 2014, 03:22:06 PM
Hi!

Hitbtc team here! As you know, duckNote is already taking part in our voting process here: https://hitbtc.com/vote
Currently it has about 933 votes, which unfortunately is not enough to get onto Hitbtc.
But, as you may know, there is a second way to get be added to the exchange - our Market Maker program: https://hitbtc.com/mm. The main rule of the Market Maker program is that any currency with at least two Market Makers can debut on Hitbtc irrespective of the number of votes it already has.
As such, we are proud to announce that duckNote is finally on Hitbtc! Thanks to the duckNote community with Market Makers who are ready to support duckNote, now everyone can trade duckNote with other cryptocurrencies such as Bitcoin, litecoin, Doge, XMR and NXT, along with fiat currencies EUR and USD.
Check out our trading platform. Feel free to contact us here or on our official Facebook and Twitter pages.

It's great! XDN to da moon.

hey guys, you're here too! Grin ducknote added to the list of coins tradeable at hitbtc, this is cool

The confidence that you have put in us and your willingness to keep the coin alive and well by trading it in ever-increasing volumes are invaluable to us. And because of that we have decided to announce yet another exciting campaign.
The two people who will buy Monero at our exchange at the highest price until today’s and tomorrow’s midnight UTC will get a 100 XMR reward!

29  Other / Off-topic / Re: How much would it cost to build my own lab? on: July 18, 2014, 02:24:43 PM
I'm interested in building a lab to house biochemistry experiments. I'm not sure exactly what experiments I'll be doing but I have a good understanding of biochemistry and genetics since I have a degree in the subject so knowledge-wise, I should be OK. I'll need a PCR machine, centrifuge, spectrophotometer, etc. Raw materials will also be needed and replenished at regular intervals.

What price range am I looking at here? Anyone else do research as a hobby here?

why can't we just legalize meth, so every time i hear the word lab i don't think of meth anymore

haha, guys what have you been smoking? lab isn't just for meth, he can cook cocaine and LSD too!  Cheesy
30  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [XMR] Monero - Secure, private, untraceable cryptocurrency - Now on Hitbtc.com on: July 18, 2014, 02:17:30 PM
Hi!

Today we are launching a new campaign: Monero2TheMoon! Everyone who registers and starts trading at HitBTC.com will have ALL their XMR trading fees rebated on August 1st.

Just sign in and start trading for free!

All current users will also get their rebate.

Ok, but I have a question: I have already made a couple of deals with XMR before today. Will I get a rebate for them, or is it just deals after today?
31  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [XMR] Monero - Secure, private, untraceable cryptocurrency - Now on Hitbtc.com on: July 17, 2014, 09:09:04 PM
Hey everyone! We seem to get much more deals in Monero recently, and a lot of that must’ve come from you.

We wanted to thank you for placing your invaluable trust in our exchange and for the volume you’ve creating. It’s a win-win situation for everyone involved, as the resulting liquidity helps both us and the traders to keep carrying on.

We hope it will all go uphill from here!

With sincere gratitude, the Hitbtc team.

Congrats to you, guys! I'm glad that you're doing well.

double that, good to see monero being traded so actively.
32  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Coins on: July 17, 2014, 04:59:19 PM
Cool thread, I'm actually getting myself familiar with the altcoin market, so this is useful. A bunch of helpful replies already (special thanks to AliceWonder for altcoin analysis 101) hope more will come.
33  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: affect whether Bitcoin mining on ecology? on: July 17, 2014, 03:50:42 PM
In fact, printing fiat cases much more damage to ecology, so in that case, Bitcoin might be an option to change everything to a better way.

35  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Maybe Doge was just playing dead! on: July 14, 2014, 10:37:07 AM
Dogecoin will probably be a survivor of this round of alt coins due to its community as long as infrastructure follows.  However, that does not mean that it will be worth a lot relative to BTC.  Too Many Coins and No Limit Ever may prove a very tough row to hoe for the doge.

My thoughts exactly, especially in the long term against coin emission system used in cryptonote coins.. but i hope it weathers the storm, because a community as solid as doge's isn't easily replicated.
36  Other / Off-topic / Re: Post your Total time logged into Bitcointalk on: July 11, 2014, 11:44:07 AM

Bit pathetic, even for a couple of days.. but I look forward to coming back in a few months, reading this post and laughing at myself Wink
37  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: do u buy drugs with cryptocurrency? on: July 11, 2014, 11:36:53 AM
I often think most people here don´t buy drugs with cryptocurrencies - they buy cryptocurrencies on drugs.  Cheesy
No drugs, but have used crypto to buy sluts. Sex is my drug

There are so many slick establishments in that area taking Bitcoin these days, it would be a shame not to support a fledgling industry! Cool
38  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Armin's Investment Journal on: July 10, 2014, 12:16:19 PM
This is a great experiment, I'll be interested to see how you guys get on, props to you both. It's also a good opportunity to scrutinize crypto investment advice given out, best of luck!
39  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Breaking News: Illuminati now officially stepping into the cryptocurrency market on: July 10, 2014, 10:31:23 AM
Maybe they will invest in DOGECOIN

MUCH SECRET
WOW ELITE

40  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: I'm not selling my BTC until.. on: July 10, 2014, 08:47:26 AM
For me, selling my (rather small) stash would be suicide - Bitcoin's survived its initial growing pains and come out intact, so why on earth people would want to decrease their stake at this point is beyond me. As for when to start selling, maybe once the government-bitcoin jousting tournament is over and people are at least talking sense - at the moment there's too much stubbornness around.
