21  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Why do some people hide to gamble on: May 28, 2024, 04:16:23 PM
I believe some people hide to gamble for two reasons. The first is law and legality, and the second is social stigma. If you live in a country that prohibits or strictly regulates gambling, it is clear that you gamble in hiding to avoid arrest and punishment. And in some societies, gambling is still considered a negative behavior. So it makes people who gamble worry about negative views from family, friends or the local community so they choose to hide when gambling.

23  Local / Bahasa Indonesia (Indonesian) / Re: [NEWS] Bukti Klaim Palsu CSW sebagai Satoshi Terbongkar on: May 27, 2024, 03:26:10 PM

25  Other / Off-topic / Re: Does addicted gamblers only lose money all the time on: May 26, 2024, 08:32:10 AM
In fact, if we talk about profit or loss in gambling, it depends on each person's luck. If the person is lucky in every game, whether he plays a few or a lot until he becomes addicted, he will definitely make a profit. Maybe my thinking that addicted people will only lose money all the time is because every gambling game is designed to provide a profit for the casino or gambling operator in the long run. For example, in games such as slot machines, roulette, or blackjack, there are probabilities determined such that in the long run, the casino will always make a profit. The more often someone plays, the more likely it is that their overall results will be closer to a loss. Moreover, most people lose in gambling, they definitely try to win back the losses by gambling more, and this can lead to even bigger losses.

28  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Do you believe in match fixing? on: May 24, 2024, 04:35:55 PM
I believe that match fixing exists in all sporting events, especially in football. Actually, match fixing is not always based on gambling. There are two types of match fixing in football, namely arranged match-fixing and gambling match-fixing. Arranged match-fixing occurs when corruptors manipulate a football match to ensure one team loses or draws. Meanwhile, gambling match-fixing occurs when corruptors manipulate with the aim of gaining maximum profit in the betting market. However, gambling does influence the results of sporting matches a lot because many people bet. So the main goal is definitely profit. Basically, match fixing is not cheating behavior. Score fixing occurs when a party agrees to lose, draw, or win for the other party by not trying their best.

One of the biggest score-fixing scandals in football, and involved big clubs such as Juventus, AC Milan and Fiorentina who were found to be fixing match results through influencing the referee, around 2006. Starting from an investigation into the Italian consulting office GEA World, telephone recordings were spread which involved Juventus general manager, Luciano Moggi, to be able to arrange the desired referee. Apart from Juventus, A.C. Milan, Fiorentina, Lazio and Reggina are also involved. In the aftermath of this case, several club owners, referees and club officials involved received suspensions and prison sentences. I am sure that to this day match fixing still exists and this is in business and definitely produces big profits.
29  Economy / Economics / Re: The collapse of central banks...Inevitable? on: May 24, 2024, 03:33:44 PM
For now I don't think that central banks will collapse. That's because if the main banking sector collapses, public confidence in the banking system could be lost and this will cause the entire economic sector to collapse. If the central bank collapses, the government will definitely help to save it, or if the central bank collapses, the government will also collapse. Therefore, central bank collapse scenarios are extremely rare and are usually avoided through various preventive and intervention measures. And for the adoption of bitcoin as a world currency requires major changes in technology, regulation, and acceptance by global society.

https://www.reuters.com/world/asia-pacific/china-starts-military-drills-around-taiwan-days-after-new-president-takes-office-2024-05-23/

A here it goes the bluff of the "peaceful nation that only wishes peace and trade", China has invaded the air and waters of Taiwan massively - not the usual incursions. Ships are surrounding Taiwan.

The Chinese government emphasizes that the joint military exercises of the People's Liberation Army (PLA) Eastern Command around Taiwan Island are a necessary and legitimate step to crack down on the strength and activities of Taiwanese independence separatists. China still considers Taiwan a separatist province, so in my opinion these military exercises are aimed at frightening Taiwan and perhaps also providing a warning against provocations from external parties. Moreover, Taiwan has just inaugurated a new president and in his speech, he called on China to stop military intimidation. Maybe it was because of this speech that China held military exercises around Taiwan. Maybe this problem should be resolved by the UN seriously, because if it is left unchecked it will certainly result in war and this will spread to other countries.
31  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Will always Survive on: May 24, 2024, 04:50:38 AM
Limited supply:  Bitcoin has a fixed supply of coins of over 21 million that makes it not inflated and scarce like fiat currencies.

Potential adoption:  Generally a massive number of business owners and individuals are accepting Bitcoin as a mode of payments thereby reducing it's demise.
I agree with you that bitcoin will always survive. The limited supply of Bitcoin creates a deflationary characteristic, where the value of Bitcoin tends to increase over time because demand continues to grow while supply remains constant. This can result in long-term value stability and maintain user confidence in bitcoin. Because limited supply can encourage further adoption and use. Scarcity and potential for long-term value growth is what attracts the interest of many investors. It is possible that bitcoin could disappear or no longer have value but the possibility is small. And I can't imagine that if bitcoin disappeared or no longer had any value, that would definitely have an impact on most altcoins.

33  Other / Serious discussion / Re: Why do people get depressed? on: May 23, 2024, 04:04:01 PM
Actually, there are many factors why people can become depressed. But usually many people are depressed because they experience mental stress. There are events that can influence how the body responds to various situations, fears and anxieties that trigger stress.

This usually occurs due to physical, sexual or emotional violence which increases vulnerability to clinical depression. This mood disorder is a form of a person's mental response in facing various life problems. Usually depression appears when all the problems have piled up in the brain but you don't know how to deal with them. Therefore, many people suggest that if you have a lot of problems, you should tell someone you trust, this will help prevent depression.

In my opinion, the way to overcome depression is to undergo psychotherapy, this is quite a lot to do to overcome depression. Apart from that, if it feels serious enough, it may be possible to use antidepressant medication or the care of a specialist doctor.
34  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: Bitcoin mining on a laptop in 2024 on: May 23, 2024, 02:27:02 PM
The Bitcoin mining process requires enormous computing power. Laptops generally don't have enough processing power to compete with specialized devices designed for mining, such as ASICs (Application-Specific Integrated Circuits) or even powerful GPU graphics cards. The longer a laptop is used to mine bitcoin, the less processing power the device has. Moreover, with increasing difficulty levels and decreasing block rewards, it is difficult to earn significant Bitcoins with a laptop. It's possible to mine bitcoin with a laptop with limitations and of course the potential risk is greater.
35  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Do your parents invest in bitcoin ? on: May 23, 2024, 01:34:11 PM
Are your parents investing in bitcoin ? Has it impacted your journey with crypto ?
My parents didn't understand bitcoin, they knew a little but didn't want to try it. My parents are too old to know or invest in bitcoin. Once when I explained and offered my parents to invest in Bitcoin but they preferred to invest in property. Even when the price of bitcoin was high and I told them, they answered that they were too old to learn bitcoin and the risks were too high for old people like them. Yes, I understand if their mindset is like that because maybe bitcoin was not created in their time.
36  Local / Trading dan Spekulasi / Re: Kesalahan Umum Trading Aset Crypto on: May 22, 2024, 05:00:32 PM

37  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Never borrow money to be able to gamble on: May 22, 2024, 04:29:00 PM
People who borrow money to gamble mean they have an addiction, it will be very difficult to fix. I agree with the points you gave, it will make gambling more focused and safer. Many of my friends borrow money from online loans to gamble and in the end they can't pay. One of the reasons not to gamble with borrowed money is that the risk of not being able to pay is very high. Gambling is a game and cannot provide definite profits, so if you lose while gambling it will be more difficult for you to pay. Apart from that, it will also worsen financial losses, because apart from losing your money, you also have to replace the money you borrowed. This will make the situation even more complicated. You have to be more careful because otherwise your family will definitely be affected.
38  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Crypto investment is exhausting for some ? on: May 22, 2024, 03:27:20 PM
In my opinion, they are not lazy because they must have tried, meaning they have the intention to start and must have done a little research regarding the coins they will invest in. They are not lazy but I think they lack patience. Investing in crypto requires being patient, not panicking, and continuing to look at ongoing developments and moments.

You may feel desperate to find the next big investment opportunity, but the Whales have enough capital to sit on the sidelines for two years or more waiting for the right time to strike. They can easily survive a bear market, with losses, for years.

In other words, rich investors can take several years of losses to get rid of weak HODLers. If you don't have patience and knowledge about this, then you will always buy on the wrong side of the market. If you are patient enough to wait even a full year to buy in bearish conditions or HODL until the next bull run, then you will make huge profits and it is a good long-term cryptocurrency investment.

40  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: How to become a successful trader on: May 21, 2024, 03:00:55 PM
Focusing on the process will make us have basic skills in trading. A trader's success depends on a combination of technical skills and fundamental analysis and this will be achieved if we focus on the process, this takes quite a long time so we have to be patient. This analytical ability will help a trader to determine the most appropriate decisions rationally, not just based on feelings which have a high possibility of error. This does require patience and difficult emotional control. A successful trader certainly has a lot of experience in terms of knowledge and experience.
