Is keytrader out yet? I have the vm running but don see keytrader in the image.
Cheers, Pit
We're currently doing lots of internal testing and debugging for the next build of KeyTrader (which will be cross-platform). We're trying our hardest to break it so the release is stable, then we'll go ahead and get it packaged into the KeyOS ISO. I've also been working with a few community members to tackle an issue with OSX wallet downloads, and we have narrowed things down quite a bit. If anyone else has an issue with their OSX QT wallet, please post here! It would be great to try out a solution with another user.

Hi dev, what happened with the keytrader file? I saw an updated file in the link in the ann post yesterday, but its not there now. How can i get keytrader?
The KeyTrader update has not been released yet, the link posted by others in the thread was a password-protected file for internal testing. Changes to that file have already been made, and the link will be posted from this account once a release is available to the public.

That seems like a permissions thing.
edit: if you're willing to take the risk you can try running it as sudo to see if that works
I am not familiar enough with sudo to use it. Plus, I'm not sure it would help anyway. I have access to the root directory with my administrator account on my Mac. Thanks for the suggestions. To use sudo, you would just launch the application from terminal using the same command with sudo before it. Someone is trying to reproduce your issue, but perhaps it is an issue with launch services. See here: http://www.cnet.com/news/tackling-a-newly-installed-application-not-opening-in-os-x/Once you have confirmed the problem is with the launch services, check the location of the program file and determine if it is on a read-only medium, since this will prevent the system from modifying the program's quarantine flag.
...
the next step is to try removing the quarantine flag manually. To do this, open the Terminal and type the following command followed by a single space (do not press enter yet):
xattr -d com.apple.quarantine
Then locate the application file and drag it to the Terminal window, which should complete the full path to the application. Pressing enter after doing this will remove the quarantine flag from the program and hopefully allow it to run properly.
The final option you can try if programs still do not open is to disable the quarantine service altogether. While the quarantine option is useful and is recommended to keep working, if you are aware of the programs and files you download from the Internet (what they are, and where they came from), then you do not need to have the system warn you about them and can turn off quarantining. To do this, again open the Terminal, followed by running the following command:
defaults write com.apple.LaunchServices LSQuarantine -bool NO
After this command is run, the system will no longer check the quarantine flag and should allow the programs to execute. Do keep in mind this will also turn off a security measure of the system, so only do this if you know you are aware of the programs you download and run (where they came from, and what they are).

I can't open the Mac wallet. I download it, double-click it, and then nothing. This happens with a lot of QT coin wallets - not just KEY. I'd love to get my KEY off Bittrex and stake it. Can anyone help?
Yea I'm having my own issues as well... Anon transaction in wallet doesn't work, I get "Failed, code -6" error. I downloaded the KEYOS download link and can't get it to install. I have win 7 64 bit What's up? The anonymous send feature in the GUI always tries to send from the default account (labelled ""). If your wallet has never received funds at an address using this label then the balance of that account will be zero hence it fails with the -6 error. If you've received funds via a different labelled account then you need to move the coins to the default account first. Go to Help --> Debug Window, click on the Console tab and type listaccounts and you'll get a list of accounts and their balances. You can then use the move RPC command to move your coins to the default account: move SomeOtherAccount "" amount Replace SomeOtherAccount with an account with a positive balance. I have mentioned this issue in the old thread but as of yet nobody on the dev team has addressed it. Okay. Thanks so much for the info. I did try researching the old thread and noticed your name came up on the subject. So thanks for responding, and glad to see you back. Again, I'm just a noob with minimal comp. science tech saavy mindset. I tried typing into the console 'listaccounts' and got this response: Accounting API is deprecated and will be removed in future. It can easily result in negative or odd balances if misused or misunderstood, which has happened in the field. If you still want to enable it, add to your config file enableaccounts=1 (code -1) Again forgive my Noobness. And thanks for any help Sorry you are having difficulties with anonymous transactions! Please check the guide posted at http://keycoincrypto.com/index.php/guides/61-sending-anonymous-transactions-using-the-keycoin-wallet-gui and let us know if there are further issues. This method was just tested successfully from a wallet with no funds currently tied to the address labeled "anon" but we are happy to help if you still have trouble. A sample keycoin.conf file can also be found at http://keycoincrypto.com/index.php/guides/62-creating-and-saving-keycoin-conf-windows-os. Thank you to the community for helping each other out!

Does there happen to be a Linux build (or source) for KeyTrader?
There will definitely be a Linux build of KeyTrader 2.0 which is currently in development.

@DEV, can you post the important things in OP, I missed this coin due to your amateur behavior.
Sorry for the inconvenience, information has been added to OP. However, please don't blame us if you feel you've missed the boat. There was plenty of opportunity to purchase KeyCoin at a much lower price in recent days, and the rise in price happened before we posted a link to the KeyOS download. Nevertheless, we hope you continue to follow our progress.

September 1, 2014KEY Operating System RC1 - Download at http://downloads.xc-official.com/atcsecure/KEYOS_PROJECT/Hey guys, it comes with great excitement and a sense of accomplishment that we release the platform on which we will host many of our future services. In collaboration with Dan Metcalf (ATC_Secure), the core developer of XCurrency, we have created the only non-TAILS operating system environment (based on lubuntu 14.04) that supports full Tor routing. This means all network traffic - not just browser traffic - is routed through the Tor network, ensuring that none of your applications reveal your online identity. Things to come in the short-term for KeyOS:- Continued Security and Hardening by Dan Metcalf - Cold Storage integration - Keytrader V 2.0 with trading support for all alts and market mover tools - Decentralized & Anonymous social networking - In-OS trading GUI with charts and analytical tools - In-wallet exchange platform - Trading guide on the management of personal trading psychology, entry and exit calculations (support and resistance), and other trading essentials written by Pr0m3theus + More Notes on KeyOS:Please note this is KeyOS RC1, as in Release Candidate. It is a testing release and there is no persistent storage of your wallet.dat file yet.***If you send funds to the KeyOS wallet be sure to BACK UP all wallets or transfer funds out of your wallet before powering off KeyOS!!!*** Please feel free to message us with security concerns or questions, your feedback is encouraged! We are making continuous improvements to the distribution and we will be sure to take care of any loose ends in RC2.

From what I've read so far on both forums this looks like an excellent coin. I'll give two pieces of criticism though.
1) The nonsense about "1 person for graphics, 1 person for website, 1 person for twitter" makes it sound like the dev is kid trying to bluff their way into success. Some people might be polite but I doubt the "team" is more than one person. One dev is fine but bullshitting like that is a put off.
2) A moderated thread? If you are not able to answer critics honestly then use a self moderated thread. Are you not able to answer critics honestly?
As I said, this coin has huge potential, it is innovative and feature rich and the dev seems to be quick and ambitious. For me, deciding whether, and how much, to put into this coin the two issues above should be addressed squarely with no whiny bs about "too much fud" or whatever.
+2 1) The "1 person for twitter" thing was funny considering they didn't say anything on twitter for like 6 days from the 12th to the 18th, despite still claiming to update investors "AT LEAST TWICE A DAY" on the main website. 2) And the "community vote" for a moderated thread was a funny joke too, check it out yourself in the old thread. a couple of replies of "+1" from a few very new accounts/bag holders and they call it a "community vote" , what a joke, not even a rigged poll or anything like that. Here is a question: what overall % of keycoin investers voted for a moderated thread, was it 2% or 3%, I didn't even see 10 votes overall, and a few of those "+1"s were from me? And yeah. delete this like the rest. don't think it makes much difference either way anymore.. You keep going on about the same things over and over. If it doesn't make much difference anymore, please take your negativity elsewhere.

Any chance KeyTrader V2 will also be available for Linux?
Yes that is the plan, though releases for different operating systems may be staggered slightly.

1) Those numbers are correct, but as time goes on there tends to be some overlap. Earlier in the project the team was even larger, and as initial tasks were completed the numbers were reduced. Having people work independently on certain jobs helps lighten the burden for everyone, and reduces the chance of one person's issues becoming a bottleneck for the entire project. 2) As another poster stated, our previous thread was becoming overly cluttered with nonsense and blatant attempts to spread FUD. The posts were showing up so often that it became counterproductive to spend time trying to respond, while assuring investors that the claims were false. Lots of thought went into the creation of a moderated thread as we considered the potential pros and cons, but community members had grown tired of the FUD as well and encouraged us to make this thread for a fresh start. Thanks for your interest in KeyCoin and I hope that addresses your concerns.

Keep deleting the truth.....
yeap... facts are facts! The charts are there. They dont lie. Almost all new coins lately do that, genius. People take their profits, jump out, move to the next thing. Your endless FUD only speeds up the process, you and your teams of attackers work so hard to discourage developers and actively cause prices to fall and projects to be abandoned so then you can scream SCAM, log on to your other account, and shill your own coin. Which coin do you work for, that is the real question.
Well, we are still here, working hard, trying to avoid people like you.
UPDATE
The fact is, KEY has strong anonymous functions that nobody has been able to break, just scam programs and lonely people trying so hard to hate on success. We have delivered and will continue to deliver. The chart dropping happened on both those coins because of FUD attackers like yourselves. Don't you have anything better to do?
The FUDers are the ones scamming you, causing prices to drop, causing people to panic sell. Believe their bullshit if you want, but KEY has repeatedly delivered.
KeyTrader version 2, a completely new program, is nearly completed and in beta testing. Here is a screenshot:

The developer working on KeyOS has had some hurdles to overcome and we now have two people working on the project, independently of each other, and sharing information. A linux expert was also hired to assist the process.
The investors are free to do whatever the hell they want. The fact is, KEY is alive and the development team is strong.

It looks like the previous post was made just as the FUD team showed up in force.
FUDers, feel free to leave constructive criticism and comments. Blatant trolling and spam will be removed.
Devil303, we have been very civil with you, but any post including your "scam" KeyTrader will be removed from now on without question.

Hello everyone, quick update for you.
Please rest assured that the team is still hard at work! KeyTrader v2 is undergoing internal beta testing as we speak, and KeyOS is getting some further tweaks to ensure a balance of security and usability before release.
We look forward to sharing these tools very soon. Thanks to the community for your patience, and as always, we are listening to your input!

Any news about progress of development?
Big website update this week, KeyTrader 2, and KeyOS still underway. Bittrex hadn't even heard of KeyTrader but likes it... we need more marketing and will do it this month. As altcoins bleed out, our holders are people with more faith. We're staying here. Working anon, good devs, skilled team... 950k total coins and only 20k price. We took some harsh trolling but we're still well alive ![Smiley](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/smiley.gif)

|
|
So, where are the "daily updates" on this thread ![Huh](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/huh.gif) It's has been pretty quiet here. We are in the process of collecting bug reports and resolving issues some users are having with KeyTrader, as well as working on enhancements for the next version. Then the app will be compiled for other operating systems and prepared for inclusion in KeyOS. Regarding stagnation in the market, when BTC has sharp downward movement many traders exit crypto and return to fiat, waiting for a better reentry. When the price of BTC begins to stabilize or rise again, activity should return to the altcoin market.

Thanks for your input, we'll check it out.

Im getting the same error on one of my apps too . Not doing anything special to trigger it. Just opening the app. Seems like something changed server side, bittrex maybe?
Do you mean a different app than the KeyTrader app is getting the same error?
|
|
|
Please send a message including what you were doing when you got the error and we will look into it. For now, opening the app again should solve the problem. Thanks!

Thanks for your input everyone, we're taking all your suggestions into consideration for improvements.
infazan, if you have something constructive to say, you may post it here in this thread for people to respond to. Please refrain from repeatedly posting links to your twitter account with no commentary.
