21  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin is just to complicated for the average person to use.. on: June 06, 2015, 12:03:29 PM
Well, before answering this question, we should agree who is the average person?
Is it an American teenager who practically lives in the virtual world every day, and never separate from computers and smartphones.
Is that a pensioner from Brazil, poor and without electricity, who had never seen a computer in his life.
Is it a single mother from Africa, who lives in a tent.
Maybe we are talking about a middle-aged Russian from Siberia who has no confidence in anything that comes from the west.
Or  we are simply talking about a middle-aged American who use the Internet just to read e-mail and watch Facebook, but always prefer to see the money in his wallet rather than have some virtual money or use the credit card.
So, I would say that Bitcoin is not to complicate for average person to use but much more important question is who is average person today in the world and how many people in the world really have necessary foundation, habits and life style to even start to think about using bitcoin.

Of course there is no 'average' person and the definition will differ from country to country, but I think the average person in the Western world can use it. I'd consider myself average and have no problem working my wallet or using bitcoin. I don't think my parents would have much difficulty either.

This is what it would look like:

23  Other / Off-topic / Re: IOS VS ANDROID on: May 19, 2015, 05:29:30 PM
Was an iphone user for the longest time but recently switched to android and doubt I'll be going back. I liked ios for the most part but they restrict you far too much so had to change.

i just use android for hacks and mods

You can mod IOS too, just jailbreak it

I think android modding is far more flexible than iOS. Just saying.

Exactly. You shouldn't have to 'jailbreak' it. Doesn't doing that void you warranty as well?

http://www.ubuntu.com/download

Surely the official ubuntu site? That's where I got mine. Much prefer it over Windows. Though if you're trying to leanr linux maybe something other than ubuntu or get a raspberry pi.
25  Other / Politics & Society / Re: No BTC dreams in Liberland - president arrested by Croatia on: May 11, 2015, 08:33:23 AM
Well it can't have been a no-mans land if he got arrested for being there.

Rofl.  That is funny.  No Army = No Nation.

As has been mentioned some countries don't have armies but this 'Liberland' that he was trying to create was never going to work for obvious reasons.
26  Economy / Gambling / Re: Post here your soccer prediction(REAL MADRID VS ATHLETICO MADRID) on: April 22, 2015, 08:10:05 PM

Draw is favorite at this moment. I think match will be ended without any result. So still chances to place bet on Draw which seems quite possible.

I think both Champions League games will end in a draw and said that before the game. The commentator said something like two legs of a champions league game have never both ended in a draw so maybe that will be broken tonight.
27  Other / Off-topic / Re: Scientific proof that God doesn't exist? on: April 22, 2015, 08:04:48 PM
You can't prove or disprove something that doesn't exist. I can't prove unicorns don't, but obviously they don't exist because nobody has ever seen one or has any evidence for one and only an idiot would believe that one exists, much like people who believe in god  Cheesy.
28  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Would You Use a Bitcoin Debit Card? on: April 09, 2015, 09:43:45 AM
I would use them if the fees were low but not otherwise. In an ideal world I would rather just use bitcoin directly, though.
29  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin is just to complicated for the average person to use.. on: April 09, 2015, 09:26:18 AM
Bitcoin isn't too hard for the average user to use.
Bitcoin is too hard for the average joe to aquire!

You need to have BTCitcoin to use BTCitcoin.

Have a look at what just got posted on Reddit's r/Bitcoin http://www.reddit.com/r/Bitcoin/comments/31yg78/bitcoin_is_the_future_of_money_is_it/

It's not that hard and will get even easier. Plenty of people willing to sell you bitcoins for cash on local bitcoin or other local listing sites. I don't think bitcoin is difficult to use either though I think it could seem daunting to get into or use at first but it's just getting over that initial hurdle.
30  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The ONLY Graph in town. on: March 24, 2015, 11:30:57 AM
I wonder where it will be this time next year, or even a few years from now. I think bitcoin has only reached a tiny percentage of its potential use. Imagine if/when we can spend it on the highstreet or buy porn or use it to freely gamble or immigrants using it to send money back home to your family. It's potential is limitless.
31  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: why they run away with customer's money in hand on: March 10, 2015, 09:50:45 AM
so we must focus on the master's benefit , whether the master can make both ends meet at least. and withdraw as much as you can , to protect your btcs from site side accident.

This isn't other peoples problem. You sound like you're saying to make sure a site doesnt run off with our funds we should make sure we send them money and they're profitable. People should do their own due diligence and not send funds to sites they don't trust but any site can run off with someones money or lose it to a thief themselves.
32  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: blockchain.info wallet hack attempt? on: March 10, 2015, 09:47:25 AM
It might be a phishing email to get you to click and log in. Have you checked? Post the email details here including the actual email address it was sent from.
33  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Sealand - turned into BitcoinLand? on: February 20, 2015, 05:05:09 PM
You can already use bitcoins to purchase citizenship in some countries.  Wink

http://www.bloomberg.com/news/articles/2014-06-15/-bitcoin-jesus-calls-rich-to-tax-free-tropical-paradise

That's not what I meant,
we can purchase titles and a lot of things in Sealand with Paypal,
what if they start accepting Bitcoin - then we might even be able to purchase SeaLand itself

I don't think Sealand would be an ideal base for bitcoin, especially being out in the sea. I really would like to see some sort of libertarian bitcoin nation at some point but it would need to be bigger and be able to grow crops and other such things.
34  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Poll: Most Americans back ground troops in ISIS fight on: February 20, 2015, 04:51:16 PM
Most American's would probably support invading canada if the media told them it has some angry muslims terrorists.

Again, the discussion on waging the global war against terrorism is centered on ISIS when Boko Haram just attacked their newest conquest: Chad.  Boko Haram is doing awful things too and needs to be stopped just as bad as ISIS.

Is Boko Haram in control of any oil fields?

Ha, exactly. Africa doesn't really have anything they want as they raped them of their wealth decades ago.
35  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Any places to get free bitcoins for signing up? on: February 09, 2015, 09:20:01 AM
You could also check out the alt coin section. New alt coins tend to dish out coins and sometimes you can exchange them for btc. You can also get some free bitcoins from the PrimeDice faucet but maybe not worth it to you as you have to gamble them to be able to withdraw.
36  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Any places to get free bitcoins for signing up? on: February 09, 2015, 09:02:50 AM
When I was new to bitcoin, I went on all the faucets I could find before I stopped and realized that they were a waste of time.  The best way to get free bitcoin is to probably head over to the games and rounds section the this forum, many giveaways there. Smiley

Faucets are a waste of time but it looks like he knows that. There aren't many decent giveaways in Games & Rounds where you have a good shot of winning but you can get 0.5mbtc from the 777 giveaway thread daily: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=254871.0
37  Economy / Speculation / Re: Will bitcoin "stabilize" at more, or less than the current price? on: January 31, 2015, 10:22:09 AM
Personally I think it will stabilize somewhere in the thousands. I think it will take several years to reach this though. I hope the price goes up a little soon though as it could cause problems for the miners.
38  Economy / Services / Re: .05 BTC per month for minimum 200 posts on: January 07, 2015, 08:14:43 PM
0.05 is pretty much standard for full members on most of the fixed rate deals so no need to do 200 posts, but people don't tend to buy signatures indivdually so I'd just join an existing signature campaign.
39  Economy / Digital goods / Re: WTB 700$ amazon.com gift card on: January 07, 2015, 07:02:45 PM
Sorry misread. Go to Purse.io, you can make a wishlist and have someone buy your BTC at whatever price you would like to set. They'll escrow the payment and you'll receive whatever it is your trying to buy.

Prevents you from getting screwed by a stolen CC.

Yeah but I don't think I'll get more than 10% discount there. Here, people sell them for 30-40% off.

You wont on Purse.io, but the people who sell cards on here for 30-40% off are almost certainly obtained by fraudulent means so just keep that in mind.
40  Economy / Economics / Re: Another country that should have invested in Bitcoin before now. on: December 23, 2014, 02:13:24 PM
I think putting money into bitcoin is just as risky as a troubled fiat currency, but the potential for future investment is there (though still risky).

People in Belarus do not have wide computer network and good enough computer knowledge for BTC use. And English language can be serious problem too  Grin

How do you know? Are you from there?
