I know my country people, the typical Nigerian wen him put him mind in to do somtin he dey do am to the fullest to make sure him get wetin him dey hunger for. make we use cryptocurrency lik bitcoin for example. see as Nigerians enter the crypto market one hand inno even tey sef naw na we dey front for Africa and even for the world if them dey tok about 10 countries wey citizens dey actively involved for crypto Naija go follo for that too 10, na bcos we put our mind wit hunger to do well.

22  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Crypto Academy on: January 27, 2024, 09:38:23 AM
Good morning my fellow member of this local board and happy weekend to you all.
It’s a wonderful day again and another day to talk about this wonderful forum. Today I wake up with this wonderful topic which says “Crypto academy”
Now why did I say crypto academy? Can we all agree that this forum is a crypto academy which teaches and enlighten us with the understanding of bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies in the world as a whole. Before I came into this wonderful forum I had slight understanding about bitcoin or cryptocurrencies. When I first heard about bitcoin, I thought it’s all about kobo like coins which other countries uses, funny right? I thought cryptocurrencies is the name of a country currency as we have niara in Nigeria, dollar in the U.S and pounds in the U.K. What I’m say is that thanks to this forum I’ve known that bitcoin is a cryptocurrency and it’s a digital currency. Now mining, when they say mining what comes to your mind? Digging out golds right? That’s what I thought at first but thanks to this forum I now know that mining bitcoin simply means obtaining units of a cryptocurrency by running a computer process to solve specific mathematical problems. Wonderful! What a forum that’s helps us with this wonderful knowledge. So now can we say it’s a bitcoin academy? As for me it is a crypto academy. Well I also want to specially thank the kingmakers that brought out this local board and also thank the kingmakers that brought out this forum as a whole. I call them kingmakers because their are members of this forum in which it has changed their life for the better and I’m also one of those in which this forum has changed. I can now afford some certain personal things I need without asking or begging for it.

I also want to use this opportunity to advise youths out their roaming around the street stealing and causing all kinds of nonsense why not look for legit way to make money online, maybe after learning about Bitcoin, you might go into its investment or trading to make extra cash. Currently now, we have several persons who sells Bitcoin and other crypto locally and they are making money from it.

Those of us who got majority of our knowledge about Bitcoin from this forum please let take out time to appreciate the forum.

25  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Dollar increase on: January 25, 2024, 08:08:13 PM

We all know that dollar is increasing on a daily basis here in Nigeria and which I think is affecting the Nigeria economical system. I guess this dollar increase is another reason why some certain things are becoming very expensive because we actually import those item. Since these items are bought with dollar and for an high amount when converted to our currency, I think they will have no choice to increase it selling price to make income from their goods not only goods the increase of dollar have also affected the traveling agencies in Nigeria for example the airlines it has made traveling abroad very hard and expensive for people to travel. The question is Nigeria government responsible for this increase? and if they are how to we solve this problem and get things back to normal

Now let’s talk about bitcoin. We all know bitcoin is a type of digital currency in which a record of transactions is maintained and new units of currency are generated by the computational solution of mathematical problems, and which operates independently of a central bank.
And it is commonly used and talk about here in this forum.

But the question I could love to ask is bitcoin and dollar related or does increase in dollar affects bitcoin rates

26  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: Can we proudly tell people that we're Bitcoiners? on: January 23, 2024, 08:49:51 PM
Some of us here were not actually doing very well before we joined this forum and people know that we don't have a job and a source of income but when we were introduced to this forum, we took time to build our accounts and were fortunate to join signature campaigns and we started earning income from it and things begins change differently in our lives as we were able to buy clothes, food, shelter and even extend hands to some of our loved ones and people begin to wonder what kind of job you're doing that you have suddenly changed to the extent of even rendering assistance to other people.

So my question is this, can we proudly tell people that we're Bitcoiners? And even if we do how can they be convinced that we're doing genuine work online since the society sees most people earning from online as fraudsters (Yahoo boys).

Well when you start progressing people will actually ask where you’re get your money from and they will like to know by all means, and when you tell them you’re into bitcoin trade and stuffs like that, they will think you’re a fraudster and what you’re doing is illegal. Well to me some people you don’t need to tell them your source of income it’s better you keep it to yourself then letting people criticize you.

Well I’m actually new here and try to find my way in this forum

Indeed, the amount of merit earned often changes even if it is only a difference of one day, maybe we need to check it first before registering. Good luck guys  Wink
This caught my eye and I must say that you must have had enough spare time to check this out. Smiley If they are true, then I believe these guys knowingly inflating this merits number. This is deliberate judging by the huge difference between them. Also, they are not kids not to know they need to count their merits right before applying, they only know that CMs don't have much time to verify merit numbers and use that advantage.
Well I don't think so, and I would have thought you would know this yourself looking at how long you have been here. Just like pytagoras stated sometimes merits of users tend to drop even if it's a second or minutes from when they posted their application because no one here ever has stagnant merits and moreover there is no specific number to which it could drop as the number of merit can drop in huge or small amount depending on when and the amount received at that period compared to 120 days elapse period.

And I believe the manager are professional and have been doing their jobs quite well so they know what they are doing especially @Hampuz who has years of experience managing campaigns here.
28  Local / Off-topic (Naija) / Re: Dangers of the internet on: January 21, 2024, 04:01:25 PM
e just dey scary how 99% of the world's data dey on the internet. Even our incognito(private browsing) data sef dey on the internet with our digital fingerprints. Me and person being dey discuss how easy e dey to actually track anybody for this earth as long as say the person dn active for internet before. if no be say some laws dey cover how this big tech company dey take collect our data, some of us wey think say we dey untracable for dn go jail sef. Everything about us actually dey internet as of now, even your "view once" for whatsapp sef. Infact any things wey you thinks say you delete still dey there only say you no get access to them again. Just dey careful of things wey you dey post for internet.

The world is actually going data based now well we all need internet because some certain things we just can’t do only, and if you’re talk about privacy my brother just forget about it because nothing is safe there is not privacy in internet, how do you think scammers will be able to get your details without you giving them the information they need, my brother it’s internet. Internet is the only way they can access some of your properties online. So just leave your life my brother
29  Local / Politics and society (Naija) / Re: WHY ARE NIGERIANS UNHAPPY on: January 21, 2024, 03:50:31 PM
This question conveys a lot of opinions. Whilst some people would blame it on the state of the economy or the bad leadership or some might go as far as saying the political juggernauts at the top are responsible for the state of the nation, I would personally like to see this situation is emanating in a chronic manner as a result of the overconsumption of other people’s lives. This , I’d like to say is the root reason because if everyone can learn to overlook how classy and prosperous others are and instead focus on what you have and strife to achieve your own goals instead of trying to live or mimic someone’s lifestyle, I believe things are practically going to get better .:: for me, happiness is a choice and how you chose to achieve it depends on what happiness truly means to you

I would actually blame the political system of the country and I’ll blame us too.
First the political system because they find it difficult to provide  the necessary things the society needs. No one will be happy if the country does not provide good roads, schools, constant electricity, jobs and other useful things needed by the citizens. We have big politicians in the country but doing nothing only concerned about their own family and relatives

Secondly, I blame all of us. Thank God for this forum that has made some of us useful while some are in the street looking for who to rub, kidnap or steal from. As the saying goes “Heaven help those who help themselves” if we help ourselves I think everything will be ok I don’t think we will complain about some things about the country anymore

31  Local / Off-topic (Naija) / Re: Are you following your purpose or money? on: January 20, 2024, 07:35:11 AM
Growing up,I heard a lot of messages and speeches about discovering our purpose in life and it appeared as though one can't become something in life without discovering the purpose of his existence.

Fast forward to the current reality now, no one is talking about purpose that much and it's now more of being good at different thing because we don't know from which skill our breakthrough will come from. I know that if you're inline with what works well for you it would be easier than working in a field that's not your interest but so many persons are doing pretty well for themselves in field they hard little knowledge about but that they just put in the effort to study and become better at it.

For an average Nigerian parents, you there not tell them you want to go into playing of football because you feel that it is your purpose in life, as long as they feel that you won't easily money out of it, they will never support you.

What do you think about following ones purpose even when it seems unrealistic?

What was your initial purpose or ambition in life?  Are you following it or you are just chasing after money?

We all have our purpose in life, what motivates us to do what we do. Along the line we all face challenges that will make us change cause. As a kid growing up I have a dream of becoming a engineer reasons are I love creating, fixing and making new things and as a child then I work towards it but as you may have the society has another plan for me. I noticed I’m not where I dreamt of being so I had to change my cause.
Yes there is a purpose for everything, a purpose for making money, a purpose for you giving to school, a purpose for you studying very hard.
This purpose is what guide us to our destination, this is what allows us to go forwarder, this is what pushes us to our limits
32  Local / Politics and society (Naija) / Re: The leaders of tomorrow. on: January 19, 2024, 09:13:05 PM
Have any one of you ever stumbled upon a child and for whatever reason and asked them how old they were and they replied " 14, 15, or 16" Then thinking they're still in secondary school, ask them, which class? and they're like " I'm in the university".

What were your reactions?   Cheesy. I believe that moment you were probably worried about the future of this country.

The leaders of tomorrow, are children who can't take care of themselves. They're going to graduate from the university at about 18- 19 years old and then literal children would be in the labour force. How is this country going to not only survive but improve if the leaders of tomorrow are immature children who can't make proper decisions?

To be honest, some of these children actually deserve to be where they are. They are smart and responsible, but even regardless of age a lot of them are extremely immature and childish. The age for university admission used to be 18 years old, but now some schools just let anyhow children into uni, and this is mostly carried out by private universities.

Do you think NYSC can help these children? since some of its importance is teaching the youths resilience, independence, and patriotism.

Another thing I've noticed is that a lot of parents don't let their children be independent or let them make decisions for themselves, then they grow up and become liabilities where at this point the parents start blaming them and comparing them to other people's children. This is very bad. Your child isn't going to be with you forever, no matter the age, when your child enters uni you should start letting them do things for themselves.  Let them fail, make mistakes, learn from those mistakes, and get up. You can't protect your child forever oo.

Let's make this country better with these tiny efforts.

Thank you.

Well you said immature are in the universities but let me tell you something there are some children from the age of 16, 17, 18 some of them are smarter, wiser and can make better decisions and contributions than some adults. Though some when they go into the university at that tender age they feel they think they are old enough to do some decisions by their self and end up making the wrong ones and that’s why I think some parents to still making some decisions for their kids, knowing or having that feeling that they may or might make some mistakes.
But though I would say that a child is not allowed to go into the university without reaching a particular age
33  Local / Politics and society (Naija) / Re: Quick money wahala on: January 19, 2024, 09:48:22 AM
Every body wan make quick quick Cash .Gone are the days when youths work hard to earn a living, them no send how the money take come..nai make now scammers full everywhere...nobody is safe . Government too is to be blamed Sha cuz if you go all these government offices no workers yet they won't  employ fresh graduates .Na only God go help us

Well everybody is to be blamed. I’ll start from the government, The government I’ll say is one of the reasons why some of our youths involve their self into fraud and kinds of internet scam reasons because they are making the supply of food, money and other resources we all need. The youth are to be blamed because they allowed their selves be carried away by things other people does to make money such as fraud, ritual and other stuffs like that.
The end line is that we all need to work together to achieve goals. The government needs to provide the needful things the society needs and the youth should involve their selves in skills.
34  Local / Off-topic (Naija) / Re: The importance of goal-setting and visioning on: January 18, 2024, 01:12:08 PM
As the saying goes "he who fails to plan inadvertently plans to fail"
In the struggle for self actualization and on the pathway to success,it is of grave importance that one must develop a keen sense of focus, sheer persistence and perseverance, willful commitment never having to lose sight of the prize even for a split second

Having detailed and pre-set goals is of utmost importance as it gives one purpose and a sense of fulfillment especially when the set goals are achieved.In a bid to effectively and quickly actualise such goals,one must cultivate certain measures;

PLANNING:As I already pointed out earlier, having a good plan is very essential because it helps to instill orderliness,a sense of responsibility and also serves as a guide to to properly achieve what you've set out to achieve. This can be done by creating a list of all the activities or tasks to be undertaken over a period of time(daily, weekly etc) and embarking on them either randomly or in the order of listing or importance

Proper time management:Time as we all know is one of if not the most important commodity on earth because once it passes/is lost can never be regained,as such one must make ample use o their time
One of the best ways to do this is by allocating specific amounts of time to specific tasks and trying to stick to it in order to maximize achievement. Also one must very well know the value of time and avoid or regulate time spent on low value and not so important activities

Shunning procrastination:Procrastination is a major enemy of success because it breeds laziness and leads to massive underperformance. In order to overcome it,one needs to be more proactive and take the initiative to perform tasks in a timely manner greatly utilising the concept of proper time management in order to attain optimum performance

Consistency/Commitment:Very often, the setbacks or failures we encounter can be attributed to lack of consistency/commitment
This is one of the most difficult measures to adopt though it is gravely important.Any achievement one enjoys in life often comes at a price of relentless pursuit, trials and error, sacrifices etc. One must therefore develop an iron will and remain focused on the process bearing in mind that the end result(success) will be worth every ounce of commitment or sacrifice made

Conclusively, let us be reminded that "as we make our beds so we shall lie on them"
It is of paramount importance that we apply these principles in the daily conduct of our lives, work space and in our forum involvement
I am also a huge partaker in this advice as I still have a long way to go in life but I'm confident that with the above principles and more contributions that will be coming from erudite members of this forum,we will engage profitably, learn and be successful.

There is a saying that says “No time to waste time”
I will say every time wasted is an opportunity waste because time is an opportunity to try again and the moment we waste it we may or not see that opportunity again.
I will also say Risk taking is another way of achieving goals. Sometimes there some risk we fear to take though we might fail in the process of taking that risk but as you said consistency is very important, if we fail and try again, we fail again we should have the strength to try again knowing our destination. In life nothing good comes easy if it comes easy know it’s not good enough. With this being said I will encourage us to never give up on our dreams and goals.

37  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: Is school really a scam? on: January 09, 2024, 04:49:21 PM
School is not scam. But we should not depend on government to provide job for us. We should try all possible means to look for ways to earn money.

I’ve come across a master degree holder pushing wheelbarrow in the market just to survive.
I do not believe this. There are better jobs that a master degree holder will see immediately in Nigeria. Although, it will be underemployed, but far better than pushing wheelbarrow that uneducated people are the one doing.

Have you gone to the market? I can bet you that 30% of people you see in the market are graduates. In Nigeria there’s a saying that says “man know man” this is normal used in most companies you see in Nigeria, before get a job you most be able to know at least one person in the Authority before you’ll be able to get the job
When I was much younger, I was doing my assignment chemistry assignment, when a guy talked to my gate pushing wheelbarrow with my dad’s items on it then the guy quoted some laws in chemistry of which I was surprised and amazed. He told me about his story on how he finished university and finished his masters and no job for him to do.

39  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Is school really a scam? on: January 07, 2024, 11:26:51 PM
Here in Nigeria, we normally use this term “las las school na scam”. Now the question is (is school really a scam)
Many people in Nigeria after spending six years in junior and senior secondary and four to six years In the university we end not doing what we studied in school. I’ve come across a master degree holder pushing wheelbarrow in the market just to survive.

School is not really a scam but like my mom always say “go to school and hold your papers”. You may finish school but find it hard to see a benefiting work to do. You may still finish school and see work to do.

Above all governments should should job opportunities for people to work that way Nigeria can or may be a great Nation
40  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Is online bank good? on: December 14, 2023, 09:40:11 PM
Many Nigerians are used to online banks and funny to say online banks gets more customers than banks like Firstbank, Access bank e.t.c. So my question is that is online bank good? Is it safe? These are the questions I ask and some people normally ask. Many people don’t like online because it doesn’t have any office you can run to in case of any issues.

Can it get hacked?
I would actually say yes it can get hacked. It’s very easy to hack online banks.

If the phone gets missing, can you block the account?
No, if your phone gets missing and you’re using an online bank it will be easily hacked or they can easily take all your money while other banks, if you’re phone or ATM card gets missing you can go to their office and lay a complain and they will close down the account or card.
