21  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][UBQ] Ubiq - Smart Contracts For An Automated World on: April 04, 2018, 04:10:34 PM
i wonder if UBIQ will go for an HARDFORK like ETH community are suggesting to avoid ASIC?
i mean, if not, then having this ASIC miners would help build a stronger network for UBIQ. - those who purchase E3 would totally jump to other ETHASH algo like UBIQ.
price might bounce as more miner will suport UBIQ. just saying. Undecided

There has been discussion on ASICs, with governance that issue will be put to a vote at some point one would guess.  Quick search on Discord has 330 results to read up on... feel free to check it out.

So if my ESCH claim is successful, will I be able to see the tokens in Pyrus?

EDIT: don't see it yet.

Adding new token doesn't work:

When/how will I see ESCH tokens in my UBQ wallet?

Block 448000 around the 25th or so you can find all the information on the claim interface.  https://ubiqsmart.com/escher/#/dashboard

Just a heads up the first airdrop is now live and you can submit your claims for the token up until block 448000, current block as of this post 422431.  The process is live and will adjust to your balance at that block after claim is submitted.  You can submit via Pyrus, Fusion or Ledger and view your claim on the interface page using the link below.  Ubiq has also created a dedicated ECSH channel for verified chat for those looking to expand their knowledge.  Exciting times, go out and stake your voting rights!

Videos will be released shortly on the process if the step by step instructions are hard to follow.  Stay tuned...

The Escher trial claim process is trotting along nicely and if you have yet to give it a whirl feel free to follow the link. https://ubiqsmart.com/escher/#/dashboard

Escher is an airdrop at 12:1 based on holdings at completion block of the airdrop period.  That token will be developed much further within the Ubiq infrastructure but mainly as the governance token.  This is not intended to be a trade-able asset and there will be no effort to have it listed.  However you are able to participate in the development of the project using Escher, submit proposals and vote on the ideas that you want implemented.

The first airdrop period starts at block 423,301 and will end on block 448,000.  Until then you can familiarize yourself with a test of the interface using the above link.

Additional questions are more than welcome in Discord, set a profile pic and ask for verification. https://discord.gg/RnXQEPx

Another successful swap!

Which swap did you imply? Has it over? What are purposes of the swap?

This was an old coin holder that had yet to swap his Jumbucks coins and popped into the Ubiq Discord to claim his UBQ.  An example of how the swap to Ubiq is still possible over a year later and is being conducted in an honorable way.  Many projects in the crypto world have only offered a brief window to complete this process and have many lost that chance by not keeping up to date.

Do we have an updated roadmap for 2018?

Ubiq does not provide road-maps.  They offer a completed summary of achievements per quarter.

Is there a problem with transactions? I should have received some Ubq coins to my Cryptopia account some days ago (sent from another Cryptopia account), but it never arrived.

My address is 0x79d1cc463e3d3038546710caf0d962e035f45328.

Ubiqscan shows it correctly but can't tell if confirmed.
Do you think It's a net issue, or exchange problem?

Luke has reached out to them as they have 0 nodes causing some hiccups. That issue should resolve itself soon.

I believe you simply need to add in the token contract address for GeoCoin for the wallet to recognize the token.  Our contract address is: 0x500684CE0D4f04aBeDff3e54fCF8acC5E6CFc4bD
Cryptopia exchange was able to open the GEO market last night!
I believe transfers should be working, but I agree with stickie, it is always best to send a small test amount first to ensure proper functionality
Please help out by liking and retweeting for more exposure

GEO market is open at Topia again folks.

"you can easily talk to the developer in the proper channels maybe they have better insight on the cryptopia progress than a random on BCT.  Why bitch here I don't get it? "
ah the proverbial question that answers itself. if i could easily talk with the developer on proper channels than i would have. they have been inaccessible.

The dev is in the GEO channel every few days so your inaccessible comment is not true...

weifa - Yesterday at 12:19 PM
Lots of build up from 1 Saturday away from my computer!  Good to see so much interest and excitement here in the GEO community.  Here's some updates on the current happenings behind the scene.

I've reached out to CoinMarketCap a few times to try and coordinate the updating of the GeoCoin (GEO) currency listing.  I've sent communications with them on Feb 11th, 13th and today, so I assume they must be very busy and will allow them some time to respond to me.

I've also been discussing the delay for the GeoCoin (GEO) market reopening over at Cryptopia.  It sounds like the dev that I was in contact with has unfortunately had some unexpected personal issues which has extended the delay.  I'm still in communication with their devs and we are collaborating to bring the market back.  I have not yet been given a set date or time for the market to reopen, but I'm optimistic that we are getting close.

I'm also discussing some of the wallet options for the GeoCashing backend with the Ubiq developers to see which options they think will be the best for our implementation.  Since migrating to the Ubiq Network, I've been learning a lot about the new wallets and how the technology functions.  It is very exciting to be part of this growing community and I appreciate all the help and support in the community.

Cheers!

Any ICO project based on the UBIQ-smart contracts in days to come?  Smiley

Not aware of any ICOs about to launch but the platform is permission-less so you may find one pop up without the UBQ team knowing to much about it.
34  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][UBQ] Ubiq - Smart Contracts For An Automated World on: February 20, 2018, 01:45:48 AM
Would be nice to see some projects on the UBIQ platform with actual original use cases. I hope they are trying to court some good projects, because as of now it just seems like Cryptopia shitcoins tbh. I think this coin can be big, they just need better projects on the platform.

I agree and it will come with time, especially with the switch to POS with ETH in the future.  Currently governance is about to launch and tremendous work has been accomplished with Sparrow, Twine, Signum and Shokku.  These are coding additions to the Ubiq network and or Dapp functionality tools if I understand completely.

EG:   xocel - Last Saturday at 12:39 PM
What to expect in the near future. Aldos primary focus is on shokku, if you are familar with infura on ethereum, shokku provides the same functionality (public API for dapps to interact directly with the chain without running their own nodes, and ipfs), something to note is this is not based on forked code, aldo has written in from scratch as infura is not open source.

Lots more info in the Developer channel in Discord.

hi guys! when i try to connect to fusion an error occurs saying "ubiq node connection error" what should i do?

Come by the Discord channel so some of the community can help in real time with your issue.  Maybe you can add some nodes to your wallet...  https://discord.gg/RnXQEPx
36  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][UBQ] Ubiq - Smart Contracts For An Automated World on: February 20, 2018, 01:40:07 AM
In theory; can Ubiq scale the same as ETH? Or better/worse?

Similar although UBQ does not operate on the cutting edge of this technology.  You will find a more cautious, methodical approach to the network.  Cryptokitties for instance has been commented on and would have performed a little better on Ubiq.

IF you join the Discord channel there is lots of discussion on this if you use the search tool.

EG:

jyap - 01/12/2018
Ubiq would result in less orphans on the network since at one point early on there was extra processing and block validation strain on the ETH network. This is exacerbated with the shorter block time of ETH

Hmmm. Has the value of geocoins gone up since moving? Nope. I never really understood that coin. It seemed like Pokémon go without good characters. I had some and got tired of holding so I dumped long ago. Glad I did. With that said, I am hopeful about this Ubiq project. Let’s hope it will become another Ethereum

I agree and have actually ran around town and gathered some GEO last year.  This project is really just starting IMO, but the capabilities are really inspiring.  Many opportunities for UBER like service with hovering vr contracts type stuff so to speak and that is just in my mind.   Say you want a lawn cut, you throw up said amt of coin you are willing to pay and you will find people will perform jobs like freaking GTA if you get the video game reference. Pretty cool use case if you ask me and a great addition to the Ubiq network.  Should be fun to watch develop.
39  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][UBQ] Ubiq - Smart Contracts For An Automated World on: February 14, 2018, 05:24:15 AM
thanks i appreciate an answer. i dont understand that one though at all. not one word.
would like my frikkin money though. anyone can help me with that please?

The problem lies with Cryptopia currently... https://twitter.com/geo_coin/status/941056149897408512

i call BS because that is just a notif that they were in touch with cryptopia and it was from two months ago.
i will say that there is no justification i know of for cryptopia to have blocked my wallet address for geo coin
which they did to everybody apparently.
if i had that address it i might be able to fix the problem

So here you have an exchange that has recognized the swap and froze the chain which in my mind is a good thing.  They probably have four dudes or dudettes running this thing trying to juggle 5 odd million customers.  Do the math... It was probably all they could to do freeze the market till this fell upon priority for them.   You have to take responsibility for your actions with crypto any money left on an exchange is as good as gone as far as I am concerned.  If the project had simply been abandoned you may have a case but that is the exact opposite of this situation. I would hope when or if Cryptopia restores the market you would return the same enthusiasm with a positive message.  Like I said earlier you can easily talk to the developer in the proper channels maybe they have better insight on the cryptopia progress than a random on BCT.  Why bitch here I don't get it?
40  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][UBQ] Ubiq - Smart Contracts For An Automated World on: February 14, 2018, 04:55:27 AM
shove your arrogance!
i had just bought the coin prior
i heard some rumor of something happening but couldnt, in the time available, find what was going on.
next i knew my cryptopia holdings for geo coin were frozen
dont spew out BS about how you gave everyone plenty of warning!
i only got associated with your scam a few days prior!
right now cryptopia is taking a month or so to get back to people on any customer service issue
how about you frikkin handle this NOW!
such nerve! glad you are good at making yourself right. how about unscamming me?
can you do that too or are you  a one trick pony?

No arrogance here.  You are not a proper investor/trader if you did not do your due diligence on a trade you took.  I have nothing to do with the project and was just trying to lend a hand to a person who is not following the proper channels of communication. Most exchanges are inundated with requests, have shut down to new applicants and have a serious backlog of support tickets.  Cryptopia is your problem as they have had plenty of time to rectify their markets.  Any coins you hold that are not in a personal wallet do not belong to you.  If you took possession of your investment you could easily perform a manual swap not to mention avoid the whole process if you read 3 minutes of the coins twitter feed.  The whole process was very transparent and vocal as far as I am concerned.   And just to remind you I have nothing to do with GEO so stop with your wining and man up to your poor trading decisions.
