Man I wish I could mine this coin... lol too late to the party

Yep

not really diff is not that high, but no one is mining it in the pool...strange

Because pow is over  Smiley

Or maybe we are all still mining it... Using a Ninja Hash Algo! O.o
22  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][BURST] Burst | Efficient POC Mining | Update to 1.0.2 before block 2700 on: August 24, 2014, 12:05:12 PM
People hold your coin and ask for Bittrex, that's the only way! Or if you want only dump your coin paying 1% fee on deposit and 1% fee on whitdrawal that's the right exchange!
- if someone sell his coins, he pays only 1% depost fee.

Good luck to hodl coin with 3'600'000 per day mining volume.

Wow! First your boasting about your NXT gateway....Now Burst price is dropping, you've likely sold your "fees" already,

and then you basically tell everyone "Fuck off! The fees will not be lowered so you may as well withdraw your coins from the AE and pay me my 1% fee!" Because you know that everyone who invested in there got screwed. Wow! Just wow!

Way to go with that community support spirit. The NXT gateway has been a downward spiral for investors. First you were saying this:

If someone wants to buy this precious coin, he can acquire
106k BURST at 0.00355 BTC/1000BURST at decentralized Asset Exchange right now,
and he also can place some buy orders at his price.

And it has tumbled to this:

If someone wants to sell his BURST coins, he can sell up to 376'000 BURST at
0.00214 BTC/1000BURST (based on current Crypty's *which has a terrible time, sometimes 48hrs to 5 days for NXT deposits/withdraws) buy orders of NXT* with BURST Gateway's 1% deposit fee.
whereas at c-cex he can sell only at 0.00155 BTC/1000 BURST.

Which is wrong because buys are happening at 220 also on Ccex...and you won't have a full 1K asset for 1000 Burst, but whatever...
And you can't blame your AE's decline on another exchange picking up the coin, otherwise by that logic, Polo or Bter picking it up would just kill the coin...so why push for that? Shittrex is being pushed for because it won't happen, and it will allow the AE to collect fees while people become impatient while waiting.

Feel the difference!!! *Yeah, feel what it's like to sit down without a dick in your ass!*

If ABCTC is an exchange, and charging fees, then he should declare himself as one. Decentralized or not, if your charging fees and acting as an exchange then simply say so and stop spamming the thread you douche!

I would like to see trading built into the wallet...I would rather give the fees back to the "Coin" itself and have that go towards further development while I avoid the exchanges that are raping us on scam IPO's as it is... About had my fill bittshix and the bots on polo are giving me a migrane...The single sat asshats that keep one upping each other drive the prices into a freefall...lol....-rant over

Yes, but I don't own any coins nor am I mining them . . .

Not be the devil's advocate, but how did you offer whats-his-face 50K coins if you have none? In all honesty, I am curious...

I think dev's talking about the 1% pool comission:
5mcoins * 1% = 50k

Ahhhh, OK... It was a legitimate question. Thanx

this coin is very innovaitive  , but we need do more market work  ,,,push this coin forward
- trading at decentralized Asset Exchange also gives BURST a lot of attention (from Nexters, Nemsters and so on).

There is a really good BURST trading volume at  Asset Exchange right now (unlike C-CEX):

https://nxtblocks.info/#section/assets_exchange/market/251006016744564741

We are in top 9 among all 233 assets at Asset Exchange:

Don't miss the party! Let's make some BURST now !

Deposit fee is too high! If I deposit my coin here and then I whitdraw them, I pay more than 1 block! More than 10'000 burst!! Don't you think that maybe lowering fee you can involve more traders to use your exchange?

This is going to come off like an asshole, but here goes...

I have to say that I am a bit perplexed by this as well. I spent 340,000 BURST for 336.6 BURST1000 Assets, Luckily I was able to get over 19,000 NXT for them, and I finally got it all converted back to BTC for 1.3 BTC (which is roughly 0.038 per 10K) BUT, that was also when NXT was trading higher, and when BURST1000 assets were trading higher. If I had wanted it back to go to a "centralized" exchange, it would have cost me again!

When C-cex picked it up, many of the community came out of the corners swinging. It was like you were angry that an exchange had picked it up, and you were going to miss out on your fee collections. It was also odd that it took a bit to get Ccex added to the OP (but now I'm splitting hairs). I understand that this is built on the back of the NXT framework, but it does not (and should not) be tied to NXT for valuation.

If you are really trying to "do it for the good of the community" then lower your fees respective to the currently lowered value of BURST coin. I mean, 7,000 BURST for the right to trade a coin that I mined???

"Change the fee to 1" - Wrong fee, he's talking about what ABCTC charges you to get the asset and then back to BURST... 1%

I can BURST right now for 0.0191BTC for 10K on Ccex! (Yes, people are selling into the 191 bids)

Just bought some BURST from Deltafox- transaction was quick and smooth, broken up into several small transactions
28  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][BURST] Burst | Efficient Proof of HDD Capacity Mining | No IPO, No Pre on: August 12, 2014, 05:11:17 AM
E:\Windows\SysWOW64\java -Xmx1000m -cp pocminer.jar;lib/*;lib/akka/*;lib/jetty/* pocminer.POCMiner generate *myaccountnumber* plot#tostartwith=1* *plot#toendwith=800000*

just says invalid args..... where am I going wrong here......

Code:
java.exe -Xmx1000m -cp pocminer.jar;lib/*;lib/akka/*;lib/jetty/* pocminer.POCMiner generate your_address_replace_it 1 10000 500 5
Plot size: 10000 * 256kB = ~2.5GB
5 - threads

Okay I still don't get it.  What exactly do I make that line say to make 500gb worth of plots?   I can run 8 threads on my cpu.

*youraddress* 1 1600000 500 5

That should get you around the 500 Gig mark, just check your plot folder when it's done... But it will take awhile to be done. lol

You'll want to leave a thread or 2 open so you can use the computer as well, otherwise there will be other things going wonky on you and may cause the computer to error or freeze. This is only during plotting though, not regular mining was your done.
29  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][BURST] Burst | Efficient Proof of HDD Capacity Mining | No IPO, No Pre on: August 12, 2014, 04:51:30 AM
If it's OK with the Dev, I would like to offer the first of many Assets on the AE.

I set up an asset in AE...Hopefully to get people involved with the Asset Exchange, as well as try to establish a baseline price for the coin at 1000 Sats per Burst. This will hopefully remain the support level, regardless of how high the coin goes it needs a floor. I would like to get it to a point where the asset could act as a counterbalance during periods of market manipulation and have both a BTC value and a Burst value. This would allow for market correction, and help with mitigating the rebound effect after a pump (possibly the first time a coin would have such a safety feature).

The Assets sold will accumulate a Burst value, and some will eventually traded for BTC. All of the funds will be held in escrow for the Devs & Community. In the event of a pump, the subsequent massive rebound could be counteracted. As well as in the event of a dump, investors would not have to panic sell and the fund could provide a certain amount of boost to lessen the loss.

I don't know of any other coin that has such a stabilizer in place, and it would certainly add to the validity and safety of this one.

The AE definitely provides a great gateway for this...I would like to distribute 25% of the asset to the community, and have the other 75% up for trade on the AE. Especially to those with lower hashing power, as this would hopefully be a sign of value. As such, I would only ask that this asset not be dumped for miner gains, when the potential to advance the coin is worth so much more...

The account will be public at the addy's below.

Account: BURST-H2ZW-3H4D-RJBS-FCVGV
Asset Id:  673530795527425458

BurstFund
Quantity: 1'000'000 Asset Decimals: 2
This asset will act as a stabilizer fund for Burst. This asset aims to assist in maintaining the value of Burst, providing market correction in the event of market manipulation. Each Quantity will be representative of 10 Burst at an initial market price of 0.00001000 each (or determined by asset market). This assets main focus will be ensuring Burst does not become another outdated and dead NXT clone...

This is meant as a quick start guide for those having issues with setting their system up on windows. This might be useful for those not familiar with the NXT platform...

First download this:
Wallet: https://mega.co.nz/#!ml4RTKBR!8g0-7RNjkIowgIJuhu-GHLXJRkKRxBlGh_tkbI4Sar4

Next download this:
POCMiner: https://mega.co.nz/#!b0pzHajA!ERk068l5NS6kR7zdLdTgltqyPw3Z60lwAWvgXtNQNTk

And lastly, ensure that you have the latest Java downloaded onto your PC. It seems as though incorrect java versions and correct java installation were the main causes of 50% of the problems listed in the beginning pages.

Step 1: Extract everything to the root of the drive you want to use (ie. the main driver directory). You should wind up with everything from the pocminer_v1 folder showing in the root directory, and with the Burst_1.0.0 folder in the root directory (containing the wallet program).
***you cannot extract this file to the root along with the miner, as they both contain files with the same names, and they will overwrite one or the other. Just leave the wallet in its own folder***

Step 2: Type a PASSWORD of your choosing into the passphrase text doc and save it.

Step 3: If using windows, replace the first word "java" in each of the .bat files with "C:\Windows\SysWOW64\java" and "save as" each of them as .bat files again.

Example for the run_generate .bat file:
Original; java -Xmx4000m -cp pocminer.jar;lib/*;lib/akka/*;lib/jetty/* pocminer.POCMiner generate %*

modified: C:\Windows\SysWOW64\java -Xmx1000m -cp pocminer.jar;lib/*;lib/akka/*;lib/jetty/* pocminer.POCMiner generate %*

Step 3a: Many of the values in the original .bat files were causing issues for my computer, so I changed the -Xmx4000m (or whatever your # was) to a lower value like 1000 or 500 (ie. -Xmx1000m) and it began working. This will be entirely system dependent, and is like tweaking a normal miner's settings to find what works best.

Step 4: Double click the run_dump_address .bat file

Step 5: check the address .txt file and retrieve your your account #

Example for address is:
Found address: *whateverpassyouentered* -> *youraccount#*

Step 6: Copy your account number and paste it into the run_generate .bat file along with your plot description and how many threads you wish to use. plottostartwith=0 or 1 / plottoendwith=800000 (for every 200 Gig section)

Example for this is:
C:\Windows\SysWOW64\java -Xmx1000m -cp pocminer.jar;lib/*;lib/akka/*;lib/jetty/* pocminer.POCMiner generate *youraccount#* *plot#tostartwith* *plot#toendwith* 1000 4

Step 7: Double click the run_generate .bat file and a command window should open, and you should see the computer begin to start creating plots, beginning with whatever you specified in your file.
*THIS TAKES A LONG TIME* (you can still start mining while creating plots, but don't expect your chances to be high within the first 8-10 hrs. It also took me personally about 8 hrs to plot my first 200 Gig section, so go watch a movie or get a bite to eat when this guide is done)

Step 8: Double click the run .bat and it will open briefly and then close.

Step 9: Open the Burst_1.0.0 folder and Double click the run .bat file there and let it install

Step 10: double click the Burst_Wallet internet shortcut file

Step 11: enter your password (which is the one you entered into the passphrase text file earlier). This should open your account "front end" gui.

Step 12: Go back to the root directory and double click the run_mine .bat file.

At this point you should have a total of 3 command line windows open...your computer should be generating plots in one command window, have initialized the Burst server and come to the nxt.apiServerEnforcePOST="true" line in another, and yet a thrid command window should be displaying your mining. The mining will repeatedly generate lines such as:

Submitting share
{"result":"deadline: 508"}

This is good, and it means YOU ARE NOW MINING. The "deadline" is a measurement of seconds until you may generate a block (provided no one else has already generated one). Yes, it is a bit of a race, but as your plot # increases, so do your chances of hitting/solving a block. I believe you can compare the size of your plot to what would be your hashrate if mining a normal scrypt coin.

Any other issues with a single step can be analyzed by typing "pause" on a seperate line in any of the .bat files, which will give you time to read and post whatever error you are experiencing.

If there is anything I left out feel free to let me know or just add to this. Donations to BURST-H2ZW-3H4D-RJBS-FCVGV

I am still making plots...file is only 109 Gigs large.. I am attempting to plot an 800 Gig HDD, and am on plot 448,800!

You can still mine while the drive is plotting...I am not sure when this thing will be done? If ever, so no need to worry about adding more quite yet, but when you do you'll likely need to redo all of the other steps on the new HDD you add and run a new miner client on that drive...

Really liking this type of mining concept...I see a lot of servers coming out of storage if this catches on..lol

One of the beautiful things about having this on an external drive, is that i can bring this puppy to work with me and hook it up to whatever terminal I am near and run it from there...LOL  Grin Genius!!!

Am I also correct to assume that you could make image copies of the HDD that you set this up on and have them mine as well off of several machines?

By the way...generating the plots takes FOREVER! lol

i cant even generate address txt file comes up empty

You have to edit all the .bat file and replace java for C:\Windows\SysWOW64\java (assuming you install java on C:)
did that just get error not regonise command
that read me text is complete bullshit that came with.dev could of put a bit more work into it.

From what I did... I had to make sure the folder was extracted to the root of the drive I was using.

I had to type a random password into the empty passphrases text file and save it

I had to edit all the .bat file and replace java for C:\Windows\SysWOW64\java

Then I had to run my run_dump_address by double clicking it, and then check my address text file for my address that was created...

I had to lower my Xmx*value* in the generate.bat file to 1000

and finally I had to replace the entire line after "-cp" with:
-cp pocminer.jar;lib/*;lib/akka/*;lib/jetty/* pocminer.POCMiner generate *youraddress* 0 800000 500 7

Then I had to run the generate file from the command prompt, while remembering to change the directory to  my D: drive because thats where the folders are...

Just mined! My balance is 10,000! or 10.000 I can't tell
Working smoothly for me even with java 8.

Lucky! How many GB/TB have you filled?
Only around 10 GB so far lol
Edit: As of now, 7.3 GB

Did you set up a new account when you logged in, or did you use your password from the file generation?

Anyone else have this run havok with your mining rig?? LOL

My x11 rig, of which I am using to setup this on an external HDD, went bonkers and reset my miners running in limp mode at 1.2 Mhs (which the only alert I got was through CGwatcher, that it had lost API access)Huh Unsure why, but now my rig won't mine over 1.2 Mhs on each card, average is about 3.5 Mhs per card normally...

I am hoping that after it plots the HDD I will restart the miner and find all is working normally??? Undecided Undecided Undecided

I have to admit that the rebuy and free distribution that the Dev just did on Ccex made me revisit this coin. I will likely be buying in at these prices, now that I know support will be there at around 30 Sats. Now is a good time to buy!

Not so sure, there is some saying that the Dev is leaving the coin on trollbox at Ccex?? is it true? That would not help the coin's investment potential... Huh

Looking into some of the new coins and this one seems interesting, but all the community attention is negative. This does seem to be a deterent for new investors. Huh
