I expect that 1100 MN count to go up more and more. I used to play around a bit on the exchanges but since Mintgox and the endless news of scams I'm going to hodl my coins in a few MN's. Maybe play a bit with payments but that's about it. People wonder why there is little volume???

Thanks to Crowning who posted about the "masternode start" from the cold wallet. I was able to restart myself without the help of my son this time. Unfortunately he is not interested in whats going on as much as I am and I have to hound him about updates. I'm learning though...
So for my own clarification will this MN inactive problem stop once more are running Onyx?

As much as people are pushing for Bitfinex, Cryptsy still has most of the volume. Traders are going to go where the volume is. Kristov Atlas mentioned Cryptsy as his exchange of choice on last Bitcoin group...although he got bashed a bit from other panel members.

I only had 120 DRK on Mintpal and after a week of sending tickets I finally did get my coins out of there just in time. Fucking douchebag will get his someday...sorry for those that lost coins. Worst thing is this kind of shit sets back crypto, people will be gun shy of jumping in because of this fuckwad. |

So is the 504 count the number of MN running 10.15.13? If I was still running 10.14.1 would the same command give me a count for that version? One last question on drk.mn page the total MN's shows 773...Is this a bug or did we lose a bunch of MN's? Thanks...
"masternode count" with 0.10.15.13 gives you the current number of 10.15.13 Masternodes, but the number isn't reliable right know because some of them (ALL of mine ) have the issue to temporarily go inactive and you have to give them a loving kick in the nuts from time to time. 0.10.14.1 (which I also monitor) is COMPLETELY confused, some 0.10.15.13 Masternodes show up there, some not, some temporarily, and of course the 0.10.14.1 Masternodes. This will become better when more Masternodes and pools have updated, I hope it will not last TOO long... BTW, drk.mn still uses the old version, therefore the numbers are wrong. Crowning mentioned that sometimes the new version will go inactive? Bug I assume? What's the fix just to stop then start again from console? Hoping someone can save me the time of looking though forum as I'm sure this discussed already... Edit: What's the best way to monitor MN activity? drk.mn? |

We need to give people a few days to update, I am away for the weekend for example and stopped my nodes until I get a chance to update early next week. It would be ideal that everybody updates right away but that is not possible since people may be busy. Another factor is pools need to update so running the previous masternode version is no longer profitable, remember pools in the previous version pay masternodes in the previous version so the network needs time I think two weeks is reasonable. MN is still running, grep my ip gives me a one.
I had this in the past and did wait 7 days without payment before i deceided to set up a new IP.
"masternode list" with YOUR Masternode version (hopefully 0.10.15.13) is what the pools and other Masternodes with THIS version also see, so it's the most reliable way to find out what's going on. Unfortunately pools with older versions will still pay Masternodes with older versions, but since more and more pools update that will have lesser impact in the near future. And, as soon as enforcement to 0.10.15.13 kicks in they will completely disappear anyway... So is the 504 count the number of MN running 10.15.13? I am feeling a little frustrated and disappointed these days as far as what kind of MN payments I'm getting. I was late updating to the security update and made a bunch of coins over a few days. Starting to wonder about updating right away as the miners don't seem to be in any hurry. Anyways I got lots of patience but I hope this gets better because the incentive to own/operate a MN at this point doesn't seem worth it. Maybe the "pimp hand" needs to hit a little bit harder?

Based on this post I'm thinking there is a need for people like Mangled Blue and others that offer this service to help increase Masternode count to reach goal of Evan Duffield(3000 Masternodes). My son has the skills to setup MN's and also has web dev experience. We have talked about setting up a website to offer this (MN setup/shares) service. Website being a place users could go to monitor MN status and other services. Not to downplay great service like Elerbeth's site but more user/customer specific. Thoughts? Nothing at all wrong with your plan. Advertise, sell shares (maybe don't call them shares, some jurisdictions have all sorts of legal crap you need to be careful of) and offer a monitoring service. Pulling the MN info from a running daemon or out of the blockchain is reasonably straightforward. Until then Mr Blue could you please kindly take my 500(+10) DRK to setup another MN? Surely there is someone out there that want's to match me...
