21  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: [9000 TH] Slush's Pool (mining.bitcoin.cz); TX FEES + VarDiff on: November 25, 2014, 10:20:19 PM
Lol.  I've been watching Slushs Pool speed for a a week 1/2 watching it closely  and so far.  The results

9.6 for  1-2 days.  7.2  for a day or 2.   8.6 for 3+ days.

Basicallly The result is.  for 1-2 week we havent been staying at a consistent Hash rate.    It's been almost at 10PH/s than drops back to 7PH/s  than up to 9 than back to 8  and repeat usually.

This i think would be a major cause for long blocks are crappier payouts.

With slushs pool i've found u loose a hell of alot more money from hopping than to just stick it out and stay.

It's Slushs Pool.  Hes never let us down yet and I dont think he plans to at all.

I've been turning on and off alot of my miners lately.  (only like 500-1TH/s or so GH/s)  due to maintenance and im starting to set up a nice little network for them.  and the wind we had one day almost knocked over my miners that are outside :O.

Seems I'm back on track now though Cheesy thank god

Lop not u.  That kurtman guy.  People can't just be nice and help. Instead must asume everything and be rude in the meantime.

I guess its hard for some people to understand that sometimes people ask questions whether they know the answer or not.

I appreciate ur description billbags.  Thank you

Here's a very interesting thought against the depletion of btc.

25 millionbtc exist to be mined if weve mined about 1m and all the companies and/or banks get in on this.   Wont it mean we will run out of btc a lot faster then the predicted 2020-2040(which I believe it may be shorter than that)

Theories?Huh?

You obviously know very little about Bitcoin. Let Google be your friend.

Wow.    So because someone asked a question meabs they don't know much.   Sure.. Keep thinking that.
Sorry for asking a question that may interest many ppl forgive me.

Thanks billbags : .  Rather interesting it is.    Interest calculations for this all.

I'm happy if we can mine for another + years b4 it runs out... Than I'll be turning to alt coins Tongue

Thanks for helping and not being rud .  People And ur damn assumptions.

21or 25m btc seems like so much yet so little.

Is it possible we could have our first ever decrease in difficulty the next difficulty change?

Very possible!

We'll see...

Bitcoin Difficulty:   40,300,030,328
Estimated Next Difficulty:   40,303,871,431 (+0.01%)
Adjust time:   After 1748 Blocks, About 12.1 days
Hashrate(?):   285,000,092 GH/s
Block Generation Time(?):
1 block: 10.0 minutes
3 blocks: 29.9 minutes
6 blocks: 59.8 minutes
Updated:   14:10 (14.2 minutes ago)

There's been decreases in difficulty before, it's just been awhile.

and I doubt that We willl have any anytime soon.  New Hardware = thousands more buying and thousands more turning on thus doubling the diff and decreasing the cost/BTC.

I suspect we wont have any drops for like a year when new Hardware stops being developed and bought.  In the meantime.   Expect to get shut out of the game due to diff rise.

Wether I pay for hydro or not.    I will enver stop.  Sicne BTc are my only source of income.

All these calculations ad stuff.. more miners.. better and faster profit.. but since u add more u increase the diff more.    making profit harder to get.

When if the whole Bitcoin network(which they will never ever do because they dont have common sense)   turned off 10-20% of their miners.  the Difficulty would probably drop back to the 20s it was at like 18 a few months back... now its at 40.

turn of 10-20% of all miners on the bitcoin network.  and we willl probably get  back their DOUBLING everyone profit  and at a much much faster rate.

turn off your old miners.  Keep all your new miners running.

But That would make sense... Just nobody will do that because nobody wants Dust collectors sitting around.

Again.. it comes back to Uncommon Sense
26  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: [9000 TH] Slush's Pool (mining.bitcoin.cz); TX FEES + VarDiff on: November 21, 2014, 01:15:20 AM
Dang Difficulty increases.  Slush never lets you down.  but the raised Difficulty and lowered $/BC sure does.

Looks Like I'll be turning on another 2-3 AntminerS1s next week for a total of 2.2TH/s  to sort of bring me back in the game.

It's hard to stay up to date and in the game when your in college and BTC are your ONLY source of income.      But it's helped me out so far.

Now I just gotta pull some more invisible money out of my ass for another S3 or 2  Sad

All these S1s I got all over the place is brutal and makes it very hard to maintain them.  Tongue  But it works..

I'm stupidly jealous of all of you who can bu many S3s or Miners and still have money to setup a little network for them.

So jealous... Care to share Cheesy

GL to all  who has cash flow.

i wonder if the BItcoin network knows that if they turn of 10% of their miners for a few weeks that the diff will drop dramsitaclly which will increase their profit DRAMASTICALLy.  but naw.  everyones theory.  I'ma add more power soo i can make more money... but because i keep adding more to make more money i have to add eve more to make even more money because the diff keeps going up.

Uncommon sense i tell ya... It's no longer Common sense.
27  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: [9000 TH] Slush's Pool (mining.bitcoin.cz); TX FEES + VarDiff on: November 18, 2014, 06:05:45 AM
Hmm.  So. I've been reading some blurbs online about Bitcoin Regulation.   Where some Banks will be incorporating Bitcoins into their profit...... Why.... Well because they need to control our lives and have access to everything that isnt theirs... Why else?

This Bitlicense thing, regulating it,  Taxing it,  getting caught for tax evation(u aint avoiding tax when Bitcoins are ina  sense... free anyway...  Heaven forbid that there is one thing in life WE DONT pay taxes on.. not like politics or gov'ts pay taxes.

Anyway my question is,  how will all of this affect Bitcoin mining.   Like Home mining,  or Mining as a small business kinda thing.      I mean its not going to stop me from mining when bitcoins are 100% my ONLY source of income while in school.  So If anyone knows, im sure there is many people in this forum that would like to know the answer aswell.

It's like I say,  one day we will be taxed for breathing/talking  and walking or moving for that matter.

Thanks guys.
28  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: [9000 TH] Slush's Pool (mining.bitcoin.cz); TX FEES + VarDiff on: November 18, 2014, 04:04:56 AM
Only bummer part is having your NEED TO KNOW info is all on different pages now and everything require 1-3 clicks to get where you need to get to.

Beta site displays much more information than old one, so it is nearly impossible to display everything on single page now. Actually new Dashboard has much more sense than old layout and it is mostly the matter of habit. But I agree that things can be still improved, that's why we released it as "beta" and old site is still available. After we get some feedback from our users, we'll definitely tune it up even more than it's now.

Thats Very true.    Alot of people expect change to be instant.  But change takes time.. not just to get used to, but for the full change to be implemented.

It'll be really nice to see this new website progress over time and have some brand new changes.  Slush's pool has been a strong pool and getting stronger and better daily.  I give my most gratitude to Slush for his hard work.

I dont know at all how many years in total Slushs pool has been running for.  But i can say,

For as long as slushs pool has been alive and mining away.....I've seen nothing but amazement from this pool.  I plan to never leave.

Infact 1-3 years from now I plan to have my own server room giving slushs pool a few PH/s my goal is 1-5 PH/s.

Stay Strong,   Thanks Slush for the awesome new change... challenging to get used to,  but itll be a neat change.

Also.. IT's nice to see you chatting away on the forums again.   It's never to late for change

Great USE of the Edit their JCGA.

I will use the new site for some things,  but the old site for some aswell.  I myself agree its more of a "hybrid" kind of site,  easier to get around with little clicks.   The new site looks nice,  its updated but requires more concentration to figure out where you want to go... no to mention the extra clicking it takes to get to where u want... that is if its there.

But on that note.  I stilll appreciate the work form Slush... I have waited for this Update for probably more than 4+years.       So Thank you
30  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: [9000 TH] Slush's Pool (mining.bitcoin.cz); TX FEES + VarDiff on: November 17, 2014, 11:35:19 PM
Wohoo.  Yea.  The new layout is really nice.    It's deffinately looking more up to date for 2014 year.   However I will say what needs to be said.    The only layout.  everything was accessible from a single click,  and your NEED TO KNOW info was all on the same page.     Now im not dissing the new layout, it's nice.

Only bummer part is having your NEED TO KNOW info is all on different pages now and everything require 1-3 clicks to get where you need to get to.

It's nice makes you feel a bit more welcome,  but some things in this layout were 100% better old than new.  Some things were better with the old.. and some better with the new.

But Good work.  I've been waiting for this update for like 4+years and here it finally is.

Good Work Slush

I to agree.  It would be nice to have the your own mining info on the same page as ur profit... A.K.A the dashboard....

But my last post.. agreed with the mod.  and than i spoke out Slush...  But its cool.  Yall can accuse me.  its nothing new in this reality

It's cool, man.  Really, it is!

No worries...

I was working on my previous post to you while you posted your apology to CK.  So, don't think I was getting on to you.

He did not end the conversation.  He simply created a new topic for us.  If you click the link, it takes you there.

I can understand not wanting to garbage up a forum devoted to questions and/or concerns about the pool.  I used to not understand but I do now.  If someone wants a discussion with someone, they can simply PM them or create a new topic regarding the subject of that discussion.

I do agree fully.  I do understand 100% however.  I will say.  If it wasnt for Slushs forums and Slushs pool.  I wouldnt be at the hash rate.  or into Bitcoins at all.  shit i wouldnt even understand bitcoins or the hardware etc if people didnt rant all the time.

I learnt a crap ton by seeing people rant on about bitcoins,  their hardware their setups.    Sometimes the Rant is incredibly annoying yes I agree it can drive you up the walls.

But sometimes.. Rant is the best way to possibly learn something.

If I thought your discussion was worthless I would have DELETED it. It is just way offtopic for this thread. This is the Slush pool thread and discussion should pertain to that. A small bit on a related topic is fine but pages and pages of pictures and hardware discussion is way offtopic, and this is not the first time the same offender got carried away. If you have something worthwhile to contribute in a discussion that is not about the pool, just move it elsewhere. I couldn't care less what your discussion is, provided it's relevant to the thread it's in.

Alright thats fair enough.  I agree. a little carried away with pure awesomeness.

But hey.  Theres never been Harm in helping other people... Well... unless its the government..  than ur probably killed or arrested for helping other people.

Lol   But yea. I kinda agree.     But hey.    This relates to slushs pool to me.. lololol.  Cause I wanna make a like huge farm and dedicate it to Slushs pool..  I wanna be the worlds biggest Bitcoin Farm the largest farm with the most well.  most Hashpower for one pool..  without wrecking it for others.. and the largest farm that uses the least amount of hydro.

Anyway DMj  Goodluck man.   and    Yea.  once I get back on m feet with money... I'll probably start investing some more in the Hardware and such.

Nothing is better than combining 2 of your favourite hobbies into 1 super awesome hobbby.

As far as slushs Pool goes.  I'd say were starting to slow down a bit with blocks.   day ago or w.e  Shit i swear i pulled in like .1 BTC in a day.    and than it slowed back down.   I swear it was .1 in a day..    .0048-.005 BTC per block   at 1.6TH/s

Lol  Just hoping I can get a really decent payout before the diff shoots threough the roof.  Because id say in less than a month..  Ill be just about back out of the mining game again (but i will never stop mining because I dont pay for hydro) Cheesy Cheesy Cheesy Cheesy

I threw in an extra 200GH/s just for the week to increase my payout before the diff increases.

Had a few problems.    I wired myself up a brand new T68A RJ45.  and had a few issues for id say a good half hour..  miners beeping away.  My s3 making me shit bricks when it starts to beep.    Network was all screwed.     Re crimped all my connectors.  and were back at it. better than ever.

Lol I love when you look at ur router and u have the one port light that is flashing like 10x faster than all yoour ports. im like ha.  this is best.

best part is.. I did the math.   if ur running 1TH/s  ur barely uses 1-2GB/s of Bandwidth a Year.    so the bandwidth is nothing.

This forum doesnt say its against the rules to post pictures of your mining setup and cabling to better assist everyone else.    Infact.   It says no rules against helping everyone else out.   Maybe nobody knew these things and they were always wondering why they were having problems.. Than they read our chat.. and say.. hey.. this might fix my issue.. and whatdya know.. It does

(Try not exceed 95M in cable distance,  attenuation will occur if you go over 100m with the wrong network setup and cables)

The reason the attenuation gets higher is because of the CAPACITANCE in the cable.  A capacitor has to be at least two metal plates separated by an insulator.  Of course, Cat 5 or 6 is multiple metal plates separated by insulators.  It has capacitance in it [the cable].  The more length we have, the more capacitance we have.  The more capacitance, the higher the attenuation.

yuppers.  Thats about Right.         Cheesy   as long as you know that..  Your pretty good to go.

Just as long as u know the diff between STP and UTP.

a small mining setup would suit UTP  but if u had a cluster on miners in a small confined space..  You would probably want to go with STP.

Anyone on this forum or see this post interested in starting up a Bitcoin Mining business....  Kind of Private kind of thing.
36  Bitcoin / Hardware / Switch discussion was Re: [9000 TH] Slush's Pool (mining.bitcoin.cz); TX FEES + VarDiff on: November 13, 2014, 03:59:05 AM

PS.  Dont hash on WIFI.   If u got a 5GH/z line or a good antenna. Go for it..  but if not.. dont bother.  I mean 1-2 miners is okay.  But the Radio Freq signals collide with eachother in the air which can majorly decrease ur performance....Though u would not notice it.. it is there.    Not saying wifi hashing is bad.     It's just insecure and less consistent

I do not hash WIFI.  You see a little bit of that switch I posted on the top shelf and cat 5e cords; no WIFI

 and good for no wifi

Sorry this is alot to read.  Just trying to help everyone get a better understanding and so u can get better speeds and results.

I like ur setup.  I wish I could get my hands on that many S3s.. or more than I got atleast Sad.

The racks do help beautifully.  Thought.  I will say that cluster of Cables you have.  Can reduce packets.   Due to cables overlapping  and crossing over eachother(crosstalk)      Id try and neaten that up.   If you've got them all plugged into ur switch and than another cable to go to ur router.  Umay get better speeds and performance if run Cat 6 to ur switch (Cat 5e is limited for speed) (Id recomend STP)  but run it to  a patch panel  and than run that to your router.

Because as it is..  theres always 50 devices or in u case 12 devices conencting with 12 cables..  than all forced to go through 1 cable to get to ur router.

So maybe u could hide the switch... Run the cables around the trim of ur house(but watch ur bend radius)     The neater ur cables are the better the results.

A suggestion to you though.  Remove all your Cat 5e cables... Why.. because the TPlink switch has potentional to incorporate a higher speed and latency.  So running Cat 5e is limiting speeds and performance and increasing cross talk no matter the switch.   Switches only do so much depending on your cabling.

Id spend the extra $5.00 for Cat 6 (All my miners are Either Cat 6 or Cat6a).

But if you neaten up those wires.  Space them out from eachother...  make make it look neater.  and also move your switch so its not ontop of the miners or anything.. This will increase heat and majorly increase the noise in the network.

not bad not bad not bad not bad.      Pretty good If i do say so myself.

Again though.   I would think of cleaning up the cabling and moving the switch(Itll help increase your results dramastically)

I thought it would bea  good idea to buy a 1200+w PSU(in time)  and connect 2 miners per PSu instead of 1 miner for every PSU I have.    1 550w 1 600w all the rest are 750w which run at like 45%-50% load.... barely

... Want to team up in mining?  Legit.

May I ask.. What your trying to tell me?  I dont get it.    Your trying to tell me things that I know more about.

Networking is my specialty.   read my posts and itll all make more sense.

Not trying to tell you anything UNLESS you were not familiar with a MAC and only fiddled with PC.

By the way, the switch specifications I showed you also had 100 BASE T and 1000 BASE T on 5, 5e cable.  Not sure if you saw that in the specifications I listed or not.  I went back to edit it and made them red as well.

==============================================================================================

Lol ima PC Guy but its all mostly the same.       ITs all intertwined with the same category.

And yes I did indeed see that.   I skimmed over it.   Its a pretty good Switch.

Now.  If you wanna really make progress. Ignore Cat 5 and Cat 5e and go for Cat6 /6a  this will help maximize your performance for your miners and your switch.. also help reduce and crosstalk/Noise and hopefully limit some collisions.

If ur a big spender.  If ur like my.  I rather spend a ton on my network setup than go half ass on it... Im not one of those people where.\

Oh it works.. its good enough.  When its networking...  Its gotta be the best of the best.

If ur a big spender.  Go  Cat 6a STP (Shielded Twisted Pair)   So ur Crosstalk will be Cut in half,  noise will be cut in half and speed/performance will be maximized.

Hey.  If you aint going to do it right.. dont bother..  The slopppier and the cheaper you are.  Your just asking for more problems down the road.

Though this is what I'd do.

Just some Ideas to help you maximize your performance..

remember the Faster ur hash speed... the less HWe,  the cooler r miners,  and the less distance(attenuation) for your data to travel..The better the results you get.

(Try not exceed 95M in cable distance,  attenuation will occur if you go over 100m with the wrong network setup and cables)

Cheesy wow i love explaining this.

I've always wanted to team up with some people and well.  At this point.  Create our own giant Bitcoin farm.   With 2-4 employees.   3 Miners get together and we all work something out and we all combine our hash power,  setup our own network for our miners and mine away all on one pool with all the hash power we got.

YEA TP link is always one of the better brands to go with.. They handle higher speeds and are more redundant.    It still will never factor out collision domains.

This is way.  If u were to Grab a switch right now.  and connect 10 devices to that switch and than to ur router.  and than hve all 10 computer ping ur router at the EXACT same time.  U willl have 1 or 2 maybe more computer have a Time out.  This is due to Packets colliding with one another.

Think if it this way.   you have 2 cars  each facing eachother driving straight head on at eachother at maximum speed.......The cars wont go through eachother.. They will collide... Or they will both stop and allow one car to go forward a few seconds before or after the other car.

It's the same with collsion domains 2 computer on 1 switch = 2 cars drving had on at eachother.. if they collide.. they will stop and reset and one packet will send a few seconds earlier than the other packet to stop a collision from happening..  This is a collision domain.

It's deffinately  plus to have much better switches but sometimes having the maximum amount of ports is a bad thing...    No matter the specs it has.

Think of it like this.   u have a 4 lane road that cant fit anymore than 4 lanes total. and u try to squeeze in 10 lanes....  or u try to throw 10+ cars on that 4 lane road... Things will slow down but they will still work.

Cheesy Cheesy  Damn.  I can surely say im learning alot.. Damn

The trick is also.. Use a slow wiring or say 10BaseT for connections to ur switch.   than from ur switch to say another switch go for 100BaseT  and than Switch to router try and get 1000Base.  Why... Well.

Think of that part like speed limits.   u hit zone were its a max speed of 10mp/h or w.e  everything gets slow and cars all get real close to eachother.

Than after driving for 5 minutes ur now ina  50 zone..   so now everyone takes up  leaving nice big gaps inbetween each car.

Now u just hit a 100 zone and now the gaps are really big increasing the amount of packets or Cars that you can hold.

I hope this helps
40  Bitcoin / Hardware / Switch discussion was Re: [9000 TH] Slush's Pool (mining.bitcoin.cz); TX FEES + VarDiff on: November 13, 2014, 03:07:45 AM
Lol If i had any Cash.  Even if I had $10,000   I wouldnt buy BTc or Hardware.   I would build a building big enough to host a few TH/s  or maybe a PH/s but small enough to be easier maintain at the lower level

It's my goal.  make a building say.   20-30feet by 30 feet by 30 feet.  And filll it ALL up with BITCOIN hardware,   Having probably 2 Networks so say 50-150 Miners with 2-3 Networks to minimize Crosstalk and noise... Also to reducde Collision domains.  The more miners u have on one network the more collisions Domains you have... Thus increasing HWE and Dropped worked. and increase probability

more Networks for ur miners say 1 network for every 50 miners = Less Noise/Crosstalk,  Less collision Domains.

But in total.  Itll be enough to make some real money.   Probably have 2 1200-3000CFM Fans going fill tilt 24/7  possibly Air Con controlled.

theres 25million Bitcoin in the world to be mined.  and we in total to this day have only mined about 3600-3800 so we got MUCH MUCH TIme untill the market plummets.

Mine as well work my way up there so when the time comes...... The profit rolls in.

Lol Ill probably run a huge server room with Antminer S3s S2s and possibly some Dragon Miners, I'm all for the standalone miners.

Cheesy Cheesy Cheesy Cheesy Cheesy Cheesy  Oh the Future and our dreams... if only it was realness/.

Actually, if BTC price goes high enough; like $900.00 per BTC.  I may end up getting my power company to put a 240V/400 AMP service meter on the side of my house.  That's in addition to the 240V/200AMP service meter I already have.  My entire recreation room would be used as a warehouse with no costs for lease/rent each month.  I would have two (2) 14 inch exhaust fans in each of my windows in the recreation room to suck out the heat.  My recreation room is 13' x 25' with 8' ceilings.  We never spend time in the recreation room anyway.  We spend most of our time in the family room upstairs on the main level.  I have a split foreure (spelling) house.

The 400 AMP service meter would provide another thirteen (13) 240V/30AMP - 7,200 WATT circuits; enough to power a total of 65 S4's with PDU's to go along with the 25 S4's I would have running on the 200 AMP service meter.  Ninety (90) S4's at 2 Th/s each would be 180 Th/s.  Not bad for a HOME farm without the additional costs for leasing/renting a warehouse/building somewhere.  Also, I would want it at the house to avoid worries about a potential burglar or arsonist.  I already have video/audio surveillance set up at the house connected to the internet with a static IP.  So, I can watch and listen in if I happen to be away from the house for a while or on vacation.

IF BTC got as much as $2,500.00 each, THEN I would get a warehouse somewhere with approximately 4 employees and have as much as .4 to .75 Ph/s.  Hell, I might consider building a 30' x 30' shop in the back yard to put all of that in if BTC got up to $2,500.00 each.  If BTC went to crap afterwards, I would convert it into a wood working shop for my hobby of building furniture and painting portraits of people.  I'm actually a pretty damn good artist.

Yes, dreaming is fun at times.  It would be even more fun if it came to pass.  Nothing wrong with dreaming.

By the way, if you have damn good switches you don't have to worry about collisions/crosstalk.  My TP-Link switch is a damn good switch!  I would have 2 of those with all ports filled to the max if I had the 90 S4's in my house as I had mentioned previously.

Well  I agree with you.  and thats pretty decent.   have 1.6TH/s  all scattered through 3 different towns in 3 different palces.  i need them all in one area..  so its easier to manage.

And no matter aht ur switch is ull have collision domains.  Because if u have 10 miners on 1 switch and there ALL sending data at the EXACT same time to and frome..  That = Collision.      The only way u can minimize is to to run a switch that can operate at Half Duplex.    with say 10baseT

Run that to a mainswitch or router running 100baseT.  Or for better performance.  Run fibre from a switch to ur router to reduce collisions.

But every deivce that is connected to a switch is a collision domain the reason for this is because Switches usually operate at Fullduplex sending and recieving data at the same time.     Thus.. if 50 devices are connected to one switch and all 50 devices are sending and recieving data at the same time... You will than encounter collisions and issues with FRAMES being sent.

Thus reducing profit... Though for the average user this is something they wouldnt notice to much.  But for a System Admin like myself.  I would notice these things...   and I would fix it

The best bet in my opinion....   Is to buy a cisco switch but make certain to always disable the ports that are NOT BEING USED.       It took me ahwile to learn collision domains and switches and how they actually work.

Just because you pay tons of money for ur switch doesnt mean ull get the best data speed.        Because now you gotta think.. okay.   what speeds should I use.

What cabling would I use to connect my miners to my switch... What cabling would i use to connect my switch to my router.. And than you have to take into the account that every device connected to a switch is a collision domain.

When the Collision happens the Frames sit and wait at Layer 4(Transport LAyer)  untill the SYN-ACK is cleared by ur switch and its ready to lease the data to the switch.

This may make no sense or you may think im wrong.  But i can 100% assure you that I am not wrong.    Proper Cabling and configuration can reduce many problems.

But wow man.       I bought like 8 Antminer S1s a few months ago.  paid for half.  got the rest for free because I lost contact with the seller.
Been working with 1.6TH/s best I can.  trying to get another S3 but I;ve been limited for funds with bills and school and all that.

But in the end.

After seeing everyone server setup and cabling or these rigs.. Shit mine is going to destroy the hell out of theirs.. Super Neat, compact, but good enough to provide the proper results for my Hash speed

Cheesy lol wow im a nerd.

My 2 Favourite hobbies are Remote Controls and Bitcoin Mining...  Computer (IT)  Doesnt count Tongue
