Might want to be careful with StaisyBit, I have not been able to withdraw from it in over a month. Keep getting an nonsensical error about how I have a pending withdraw, but if I do, its been pending for 45 days. I sent a ticket but as far as I can tell, I have no response. This might just be a problem with my account there and it might clear up but everyone needs to be on guard for possible scams from sites that hold your coins and the private keys. You have no power over what you deposit.
Dont ride the history! We were in betaperiod and announced it, that you cannot withdraw because important developments! Since 2 months, everything is running smooth and its confirmed by a lot of devs! Greetz Steve Oh, don't get me wrong, Im not making accusations but if withdraws are not available then Im just making sure that people know that what they deposit might be unavailable or at risk. As a matter of course, I do not generally trust anyone to keep my coins. I did put some coins into staisyBit to give it a try. Fact remains that if we do not have access to private keys, we are in some way vulnerable to losing what we put in. That fact needs to be reiterated often so people do not forget.

Ok, I need a list of ways that Energy can be earned or generated. I will continue to buy, but I am looking to greatly increase how much Energy I hold and I need to make sure that I do not miss any opportunities. Im working on a business that would let people buy solar cells and other such supplies with Energycoin but that wont be done until 3erd Quarter of 2016.

Admittedly I did not look at the entire thread, so this might have been answered but, do you have a faucet or other way I can get started with the coin? I will be putting some BTC into it, but right now my budget it tied up mostly with Energycoin.
I want to hold this coin and watch what happens with it but need to get started.

Did you ever make this latest version of the wallet for the pi? I really have not had much time to work on anything like compiling my own.
|
|
|
Yeah, but anyone who tries my way may still need a rescan of the blockchain. I found this out after looking to see that while the bootstrap works, the balance on my wallet was 0.

Ok, so, I had this error: Error initializing database environment / Users/s3v3n/Library/Application Support/ MintCoin! To recover, BACKUP THAT DIRECTORY, then remove everything from it except for wallet.dat.
Here's what fixed it for me.
I cleared the mint directory and then put the downloaded blk0001.dat and txlvldb folder along with my wallet.dat file in the mint directory and then fired it up. Worked like a charm.
Edit: Just to be clear, when I said I put the downloaded blk0001.dat and txlvldb folder, i am talking about the bootstrap download. All you need from it is those files,

Ill work on the pi wallet tomorrow and hopefully get it online. mean time ill bring my Pentium 4 online and open the wallet to help support the network.

Are we going to need to re download the chain with the new client?

Oh, I don't know. When I run this wallet on my P4 3 Ghz HT system ( Windows XP pro ) I never have an issue and I do not even know its running it's that smooth.
I don't doubt people are having issues, but I think it might be time to put some work into finding issues between the wallet and running programs on the systems that are having issues. Could even be drivers or other issues with the problem systems but I have to believe that if it works on a P4 smoothly it can work on just about anything smoothly.
As far as staking problems, I stake maybe a bit too much, so I have nothing to offer as an idea as to why staking for some would be a problem.

I don't know what just happened, but my client just went to overdrive staking. I think I just had something over 30 stakes in the past 30 or 40 mins over all. It just kept going and going. So far only around 2 of them failed to clear.
Compared to my normal rate of between one and 3 an hour, if Im lucky, thats scary.

Since I dont have the wallet for the pi I basically have to use my trusty Pentium 4 3GHz HT system. As the new place I moved into stays at around 32 Deg C almost all the time right now it is causing my Pentium 4 to run just a tad bit hot ( around 71C at the CPU ) this technically exceeds its top end recommendation of 64C, so, I took it off line for the past 36h. Im bringing it back up now so I can put my wallet back on line.
None of my cooler running systems are available to run a wallet at this time so I may bring it on and off line as the heat conditions change.

Ah, ok, thats good to know. I'll just hold up on using the pi for energy until the new wallet is ready. Thank you for getting back to me on that.

Is there an already compiled version of the client for Raspberry Pi? I have been looking, but I did not see where the newer client for the Ras pi could be downloaded.
Been running my wallet on a PC. I would rather not burn more energy ( power ) then I have to in order to keep my wallet running and I figure I might as well see if the newer version is up for the Pi before putting the Pi back online.

Is the upgraded wallet mandatory? Ill be upgrading but I still have things to do here at home before I can sit at the computer. I moved and Im still organizing my new place.

Arrrg Bittrex is still playing hard to get. This is still the status.
Blocked ENRG 1076204 0 885 minutes 04/21/2015 11:08:24
It's ok for now, but I need to consolidate 2 wallets and I need to start trading again in the next day or so. I want to refresh my backups and add a new coin ( Bitseeds ) but I want to do it one time when I have all my wallets and coins in order.

Seems Bittrex has a blockchain issue with Energycoin. I am unable to transfer to or out of the exchange and the wallet status is "blocked" on Bittrex.
Uggg. This is not fun.

Ok, I figured this out and it may have settled down now to the point where it wont happen, but......
I seem to be floating between the active ( desirable ) Blockchain and another fork of the blockchain. I watched it change at least one time and confirmed something was up when I did a hash check on a random block and found 2 results on the same block shortly after noticing that my client suddenly went out of sink by 11k blocks.
If it should happen again, Ill see what I can do about getting a screenshot.
Just to be clear though, as of right now Im on the right chain.
Edit: Everything seems to have settled down.I added more nodes Jan suggested above, I previously had only one "approved" node to get me started. I currently should be acting as a node.

ok, got everything working and now, as of a few mins ago I am stuck at this block 1059795.
I confirmed I was on the right block and even successfully sent 2 energy to Bittrex to test. Now, Im just plane stuck. seems to have happened during a stake.
Ok, never mind it did move forward but I may still have a situation where the blockchain stays out of sync. Again, all was fine before I staked.
