22  Economy / Speculation / Re: Do you think Bitcoin price will be $70.000 end of 2018 on: December 07, 2017, 07:12:20 PM
i've given up making predictions. this is all making my head spin.

the great unknown is the effect of these futures. they're not here yet. they will be very, very soon. that's by far the biggest thing that's happened to the bitcoin market in a long time and it's also the most unpredictable. let's ask this question again when they've been running for a few weeks. no matter what happens they're here to stay.

This is a mix of lightning network news and a mix of CME and Nasdaq Futures, and even other people that i didn't even knew had futures are getting in. We are going to find out soon how sustainable the bull-run is.

Beware of scammers predicting huge crashes, they just want to buy your cheap Bitcoin on the dip. We will correct, NOT crash.
23  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Bounties (Altcoins) / Re: C | 15 BITCOINS TO SHARE [Bounty Thread][ANN] on: December 07, 2017, 07:08:09 PM
Hi Im interested on joining your signature campaign unfortunately it is stated on the rules that 10post weekly should be done and if not reach minimum post for 2weeks participant would be didqualified. Does this mean it's already too late for me to join since I already missed last week's period? Thank you
No its not too late, today is thursday, if you can make 10 post by tomorrow you will get your first week share, then from tomorrow - next Friday you have full week to make it second week share, same week after, same last week of the bounty.

The confuse came as the bounty started, and what If I joined middle at the end of first week? We are a fair people, WE ARE YOU...

We keep telling people you do your best, and we will be very fair and generous, just don't make it complicated because we are making it simple.

Please, can you stop ignoring my question and address it directly?

This is confusing. You say here that a week starts counting from the day you join:

- Week starts on your first day of joining.

But here you say counting happens "on fridays":

  • If you don't reach 10 posts before a Friday, you will not receive any stake for the current week.

Since I joined on December 6th, my week and therefore counting for the 10 posts would be on December 13th, not tomorrow... can you clarify this?

It the same, you do everything right and we will reward you.

How can I do everything right if your rules aren't clear? I don't know if I need 10 posts every friday or by the time a week ends after your join date, and I don't know if I will get paid for the posts I made today tomorrow even if I didn't made 10 posts.

Can you clarify this or you don't even know your rules?

You either count posts EVERY FRIDAY or FROM THE TIME SOMEONE JOINS. Not BOTH.

And another question: Do the posts in this thread count as posts? I understand it as they do count, because this is the bounty thread, not ANN thread:

  • Participants replying on ANN will be counted as 1 per week if multi been made.

So I did 10 posts before friday (today) since you didn't tell me clearly if the posts must be made before fridays or 7 days after you join as you replied to other poster, so I hope I receive the payment.

25  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Does wallet.dat ever expose private keys? on: December 07, 2017, 04:22:52 PM
Is there any chance that a hacker gets to see all of your private keys? or he would need to have a RAT installed on your computer and enter the "dumpprivkey" command on every address WHILE your Core client is opened and unlocked?

And the HD wallet.dat from Core does have a seed that could be hacked? (with all of your funds on it). Im still using the good ol wallet.dat (it shows HD is not enabled) and I was wondering about that..
26  Economy / Economics / Re: why does South Korea ban bitcoin futures Trading? on: December 07, 2017, 03:36:44 PM
because it is highly speculative and Koreans are gambling their life's savings away on crypto. Too many scammers here. Futures would welcome a whole new pack of them.

Well, futures is institutional gambling... people make careers out of it, and it's perfectly legal. I find it funny how governments allow futures of other things but not for Bitcoin.

In any case, we don't really need futures or ETFs, Bitcoin itself is like a black hole sucking all the fiat in. And now with lightning network we are going to Saturn (forget the moon, we crossed it already).

Answering you: This is not a scam, this is an original way of doing Bounty, please do read what we have under the slides on our ANN.

If you join 1 day before payment due, you will get paid based on what you have done 10 posts full payment, 3 posts 1/3 of the payment.

Ok, but I don't understand how do you know you will have enough BTC to pay everyone if there is no limit of people joining until the 15th of december? we are at 55 pages of people joining already, at these rates and at this pace is going to be a lot of BTC to pay..

also notice I did a mistake and entered activity points as number of posts, edited it.
29  Economy / Speculation / Re: 2018 Trillion $ Bitcoin marketcap on: December 06, 2017, 06:53:30 PM
Going to take a guess here and say that it will be 1 trillion by june of 2018. This goes to show that the technology is spreading and people are gaining awareness.

Distributed ledger's are the way of the future.

That would be amazing haha. I wouldn't complain.

Let's see thats two doublings plus another 25% from where we are now. I could see September 2018 if this thing just keeps running away like it is now. Doublings have averaged 3-4 months, though of course it went from $6k-$12k now in the past 6 or so weeks but I think that's because of the lead-up to futures getting everyone excited about Wall St entering for real next year. I could see the next two doublings taking 4 months each. Either way it's gonna be the biggest year yet!

It's yet to be seen if all this hype around "wall street money" will be positive or not. I've seen a lot of people is looking forward to short the price of bitcoin because they think it's getting out of hand. If we are able to get through the shorting forces, im sure we will thrive to $20,000+, if the shorts are too much to deal with, we'll go lower. Since nobody knows the outcome, if you can afford it, hold through the crash, it's what has been proven to work since day 1, you will end up winning. Bitcoin is not going anywhere because some Wall St whales decide to short it, we will keep going higher long term.

A trillion for $2018 is definitely doable. Im looking at gold's marketcap in the long term (that's $400,000 a coin).
30  Economy / Economics / Re: Venezuela to launch 'Petro' cryptocurrency on: December 06, 2017, 04:29:59 PM
Maduro to avoid the financial harassment from US and such has announced a crypto currency for Venezuela. Not exactly sure how this will make it any better then the currency they already have in a free fall. Can release of 'Petro' really help Venezuela?

https://www.reuters.com/article/us-venezuela-economy/enter-the-petro-venezuela-to-launch-oil-backed-cryptocurrency-idUSKBN1DX0SQ

It highly depends on the features and nature of the coin . If the coin is like paper currency with a full authority of government and imposed taxes then the coin might merely help the government to strenghthen the economy . Without some salient and eye popping features , how will the common people will get attracted and invest on the coin . This is most likely to turn in to a failure if the coin is not attractive and worthy enough.
Every one wants to get  have some unrestricted features when it comes to crypto currency . An authorized crypto currency might be least indulging to the people.

What do you think a guy like Maduro is going to do? It is full blown socialism there. It doesn't matter what the currency is, if they don't let companies thrive and centralize everything, their cryptocurrency is not going to help much when the country is just held hostage of the government's policies. People can hate on Trump all they want but he is cutting a lot of useless regulations that have stalled a lot of growth in the past 8 years, that is what Maduro needs to do, but good luck with that.

Im not gonna lie, this feels strange... how can you be accepting an unlimited amount of people until Dec 15th? how do you know you will be able to pay all of them? And promoting something called "C" that you don't even know what it is is a bit weird, but I guess that is part of the marketing campaign. Im willing to trust this is not a scam and you will pay us.. anyway, I have a question about the weekly term. If it's counted by the time you start (so for example If start now, then my week ends on December 12th at the forum time of this post right? -December 12th 03:59:57 PM to be precise-) then considering first payment is on the 16th.. my second week starts at 12th and ends on 19th, but payment is in the middle of my second week... so what if I don't have the time to make 10 posts? do I still get paid?

Or for example, someone joins on Day 15th, and payments are next day (16th).. he can't make 10 posts on a day, so he makes like 3 posts.. does he get paid for these 3 posts? I hope it makes sense.

You should make this more clear in the OP, how weekly terms are counted etc.

34  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: BYTEBALL: Totally new consensus algorithm + private untraceable payments on: August 08, 2017, 06:44:55 PM

How do I sign more addresses then? I just keep getting this message. Also, I clicked on "RECIEVE"->"GENERATE NEW ADDRESS" and now I have a different address, so im not sure if I control the previous address anymore?

Should I have created a new "Wallet" instead of clicking ""GENERATE NEW ADDRESS"? Did I lose the address that I was supposed to receive the byteballs from?

And what does that message that im getting (the Hello again! one) even mean?

Does this program really expect me to send my entire BTC history into a single address because the program doesn't let you enter multiple different addresses? that sounds like a joke to me.

The bot recognizes you with your device ID which is common for all wallets and addresse but it can't know your different addresses unless you write them in chat. If you want to completely split for privacy, you should install Byteball on an other device.

I already tried to write another address in the chat and the bot didn't take it. The bot SHOULD be able to take as many different BTC addresses, so you sign every BTC address into a different byteball recieving address so everything is separated. Honestly the fact that you need to put your entire bitcoin savings into a BTC address because the bot is too dumb to be able to take several BTC addresses is pretty lame. The dev should come up with a solution. Im not moving all of my coins into a single address.
I dont know if im doing something wrong or what..

I dont know why you say install Byteball in another device, that solves nothing.
35  Economy / Speculation / Re: About BCC (Bitcoin's Cancer Cell) on: August 08, 2017, 03:18:24 PM
Trying to synch Bitcoin ABC for three days now.

First I had tried to use the same blockchain until the date of July. Didnt work, the program crashed.

Then started to synch since the beggining. It's on 50% yet, computer turned on all the time. Using another OS because the program uses the same registry as Core.

For me is showing 0 BCC for now, but the transactions until July appear on history as BCC.

I dont know if I will ever get these "free coins".

But I dont see a slow synch like that since I tried to download Ethereum blockchain some months ago (and dropped it after two weeks trying).

So importing the blockchain files from the Bitcoin Core wallet into the BitcoinABC wallet doesn't work? oh well, in that case i may not even bother. I can't spend that much time syncing the network from scratch. And I suspect it would be even slower with BitcoinABC because it has less nodes to connect form and download the data.

Can someone confirm if they were able to re-use the blockchain of Core into BitcoinABC? because I was told that it would work.
36  Economy / Economics / CNBC hosts are worried about BTC being x3 oz of gold on: August 08, 2017, 03:04:29 PM
https://www.cnbc.com/video/2017/08/07/bitcoin-hits-all-time-high.html?play=1

This is a must see. It's fun to see these clueless guys at "this bitcoin thing" going so high. They said they are worried because now BTC is worth 3 times an oz of gold. If only they knew this is only the beginning.

I think it will take for BTC to reach $10,000 for them to accept the new Bitcoin reality, it's then when all of these rich boomers will be getting into BTC and the price will go parabolic.
37  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Vs Bitcoin Cash on: August 08, 2017, 01:44:14 PM
Bitcoin will always be the main crypto currency and there's a lot of so called bitcoin carbon copy. But what happened to those? They never get the resistance to become popular and have a better value from the original bitcoin.Let's just thank to bitcoin cash as every trader get profit from it and they invested it in order to buy bitcoin.

What if Segwit2x happens in November? Besides the technical parameters, there is no real difference between the two hard forks. Most people viewed Bitcoin Cash as an altcoin. Will they view the Segwit2x chain as an altcoin, too? Or will most of the network follow the hard fork?

Segwit2x is another altcoin if they date to hardfork. We don't need a stupid blocksize increase. Look at how many people is using Bitcoin Cash: nobody. The market has already dictated that they don't want bigger blocks, and the market has already dictated segwit is enough.

Whoever dares to support the NYC agreement is fucked, the community will hate them for life.
38  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: BYTEBALL: Totally new consensus algorithm + private untraceable payments on: August 07, 2017, 05:58:00 PM
Thanks for your input. I better get started right now with the address signing then... I don't think I will be able to sign all of my wallet, I have way too many addresses, it would take me at least an hour and it's only 15 minutes to go... next time I guess. I will go as fast as possible right now and hope for the best.
39  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: BYTEBALL: Totally new consensus algorithm + private untraceable payments on: August 07, 2017, 05:24:59 PM
Im going to try for the first time ever getting some Byteball in the airdrop and I have a question: What happens if you do the transition bot thing and send the address before the actual airdrop starts? Is there a queue and I can send it already before it begins, or if I try to do it now before it starts it will get rejected and prompt you an error like "wait for the airdrop period to start".

I just watn to be sure that I dont lose my BTC. I will try to send it as soon as the countdown on the website goes to 0 but just in case I send it 1 second earlier, I want to know what would happen.
40  Economy / Economics / Re: So this will be interesting... Bitcoin to insane valuations on: August 07, 2017, 02:28:16 PM
I was thinking about this earlier and I wonder what everyone's thoughts are on it. I think a lot of folks are trying to set an expected 'max value' on what bitcoin can and should be. I suspect it will enter the realm of something like the derivatives market where the total value of all derivatives is more than even all the money in the world.

If you think about it, the market cap is simply pegged on what folks are willing to 'part' with their bitcoin for. For that reason, it's completely possible that as it hits insane valuations, just about nobody will be willing to part with it. As this happens, at some point someone can say the current market cap of Bitcoin is so high that all the money in the world couldn't buy it all out. (and that would be just fine!) Just like the derivatives market with all the money in the world couldn't cover all the existing contracts, all the money in the world won't be enough to purchase what people are willing to sell their bitcoins for.

So while some folks see an upper threshold of something like all the gold (7 trillion) or world GDP ~80 Trillion, bitcoin could go even higher than that.
That should be interesting!

Bitcoin is about to break all thresholds and there is nothing stopping it, it's like that train 777 that's set on aa automatic break and no one to stop it. All the alts have failed, Bitcoin cash the so called alt that horribly failed, all the government can try putting in the restrictions but they won't succeed at all. All the factors point that it's going to succeed and that's the best part.

We COULD be at $5000 by Christmas, but the only bump in the road that I can see now is the NYC agreement. If the hardforkers come back with the incredibly stupid segwit2x bullshit we are going to dump so hard in the middle of the highest prices ever seen on bitcoin.

You then know who to hate: Every miner involved, and every exchange involved, and of course, Jeff Garzik.
