21  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: French Soccer League Predictions and Discussion Thread (Ligue 1) on: December 21, 2020, 08:49:56 PM
PSG played an away match against Lille yesterday. It was a very hard match for both teams for sure. Lille are doing awesome things this season. I especially like Yusuf Yazici's performance. He is a very talented player. PSG didn't choose to start with Mbappe. Neymar was absent too because of his injury. Both teams played attentively. Sadly, we didn't watch any goal in the match.

True, despite the fact that the ball possession was almost totally PSG's, the skill came from both teams, and it is a quality of both of them. Honestly, despite the 0-0, I didn't find the game disappointing. Lille is an unimpeachable team and you can see it every time they take the field.

I never expected yesterday's defeat of Alanyaspor against a team like Denizlispor. There were so many fouls that I lost count, and the countless yellow cards given were absurd to watch. I hope it was just a moment of exhaustion and that Alanyaspor will recover for the 23rd.

Manchester United played a home match against Leeds yesterday. They played a wonderful game and this could be their best performance in the league this season. To be honest, I didn't expect this score. Leeds are not a bad team and they have really good players. But in this match, Manchester United were really awesome and they won the match 6-2 easily.

I totally agree with you. They have been able to hold their own against one of the best teams out there, which is also one of the favorites to win the Premier League this year. Leeds have been pretty inconsistent the last few matches, however, I have to give them credit for having guts.
24  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Bitcoin betting on the 2020 US Presidential Election | Trump vs Biden on: December 21, 2020, 08:09:31 PM
It is understandable that all casinos wanted to wait until it was official, but I never really understood what "official" meant. I mean votes came out, who do you think counts those votes? Biden supporters?

I mean did people assumed that Biden voters just went out and counted the voters and throw out all trump votes and double counted Biden votes or something?

It was official results on day one, well some states counted a bit later but it was counted, when votes are counted and results are in, we have the result, what else do you really need? All the legal battles? Those were for the show, those were there so that Trump could say he didn't lose, he was frauded and that is what he was trusting, because he KNEW he lost, but he would never dare say that and those legal battles were all part of the show.

The counting has been completed for months now, anyone who assumes that there have been injustices is disrespecting the work that has been done by so many people up to now. Undoubtedly some cases of illegal modification of the results, of some single votes, have been made, but this happens in any country in the world, and is legally punishable. However, these cases are very uncommon and would not affect the overall result.

heh! i won this round with 14.5 pts  Cool that 2-2 correct score between barca - valencia was crucial, everyone expected a home win...oh, barcelona  Roll Eyes

next round kicks off tomorrow so be sure to submit your picks asap!

Funny how Modric can play full 90 minutes every 3 days with 36+ years on his back and then people complain this schedule is too tough Smiley
Modric, what a legend, one of our best players this season is a 36yo grandpa, you love to see it lol  Grin
but, finally, he's going to rest tomorrow[1]

Well done! For Barcelona tomorrow will be a warm up for the upcoming matches to regain the podium and hopefully earn first places. Of course, they can't make miracles out of it, but I really hope they can bring home some better results.

I can't wait to see what Real Sociedad will do against Atletico Madrid on the 22nd. It's a match that I think will give us many surprises. Despite the fact that Real's last few games have gone pretty bad, I don't think they'll give up easily.
27  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Floyd Mayweather vs. Logan Paul - February 20 on: December 21, 2020, 07:22:53 PM
It's all about money and popularity. The professional gap between the two is evident. Floyd has always been focused and he has had indispensable training for this sport. Logan instead is not able to resist and we all saw it. Training is a good part of the result you see on the ring. If you lack resistance, you are already missing 50% of the chance of victory.

It was weird and bad for me to see Tottenham lose again yesterday. Compared to Leicester, Tottenham has always played pretty well and remained steady as well. I hope they don't drop in the ranking because, in my opinion, they are a team that deserves a lot. I think they will go at least to the fourth place
29  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Italian League Prediction Thread (Serie A) on: December 21, 2020, 06:47:38 PM
This goal has not be cancelled or I am wrong?

Now the record of the fastest goal in Serie A is an irregular goal.

Nah, that's not the goal that was canceled. It was Calhanoglu's goal that was disallowed in the 9th minute due to an offside in the build up leading to the goal. I've checked media websites and not a lot of them are calling it an irregular/faulty goal so its safe to say it's a good goal. Maradona scored with his hand and still gets praised for that "Hand of God" goal.

There will be a match between Juventus and Fiorentina tomorrow night. Juventus had a good performance in their last matches and I am sure that they will be the dominant team in this match. Fiorentina are going terrible and still haven't got a win for a long time. I think Juventus will win the match easily.

Yes, there's only two seria A games tomorrow and more on Wednesday. Juventus should win Fiorentina without much of a  problem. If Juve wins, they close the gap between them and Milan to just 1 point.

Exactly, the goal that was cancelled is the one made during the ninth minute, by Calhanoglu. This is officially the fastest goal in the history of Serie A, after 19 years since Poggi's unbeatable record in 2001. I'm pretty sure tomorrow Juventus will win, they haven't been playing too badly lately, compared to Fiorentina.

After a few draws with teams that were not strong at all, many people immediately thought of Milan's imminent defeat. Yesterday, against Sassuolo, they managed to prove how much they are really worth, with less players and an unproposable formation. They are still in first place, looking up at everyone.

32  Other / Off-topic / Re: Betting on Horse Racing, Ethical or no ? on: December 14, 2020, 09:46:59 PM
It belongs to animal cruelty, for the animal lovers it is unethical because there's a negative effect that possible horses will have while in the training. This could be lead to serious injury of the horse that may risk the horse life or I guess it will die because of the trauma through the catastrophic injury while in training.

There's a world organization that protects animals to cruelty and using horse for entertainment just like in the racing industry are slowly put regulated by those group who belongs to animal welfare concerned.

Trying to have specific controls in place at every time, in my opinion, it is impossible. We may try to make this sport as safe as possible, but as far as I'm concerned it will always remain ethically wrong to bet on horse racing. Animals cannot express consent at first place.

Today the draws took place and I'm sorry for Lazio who ended up against Bayern Monaco. Atalanta had the same fate as they ended up against Real Madrid. They are the strongest teams ever and I don't think they will make it through the round this time. However, we are waiting for miracles

it's a pity that Vettel finished his career in Ferrari without a single victory, it was as bad as the last year he spent in red bull. Let's focus on next year, and I really hope he can win something too. The other years he had almost been able to earn the title but unfortunately this year has gone like this

To be honest, I kind of like horse racing abit and probably would bet on them if the horses are well taken care of and not treated badly in anyway.
I think before horse racing can be allowed, certain horse-friendly and safety standard must be met. Using animals for similar competitions must be highly regulated. If regulation is strong, only the qualified will be allowed to organize or take part in such competition... and the competition probably won't be that common unless necessary.

Why I do not have much problem with the sports is because that's the kind of things horses are used for and the sports will help train and exercise them, I think.

Horses are actually used constantly, for beauty, jumping and racing competitions. The difference between other competitions and sport ones is that any one of their owners can tire these animals out excessively, with an overly harsh rhythm or by feeding them unhealthy things just to make their performance increase. It's a very vast subject and unfortunately, to make it truly safe, it would be necessary to have very strict controls, which we know are lacking in too many cases.

I didn't expected such big dominance from Real Madrid today. They've been unstable this season so far, but now they have good period - wins in La Liga against direct competitors Sevilla and Atletico and crucial win in Champions league. Meanwhilwe Atletico suffered first defeat this season and probably it was their worst game so far. But they are still leading league.

Against Atletico Madrid, Real Madrid played surprisingly well. By looking at the shots they tried to take, you can see their desire to climb up the standings again. I hope they can get back into the top spot even though I know it is a hard wish to fulfill.

Milan miss to get three points after playing draw with Parma 2-2, maybe if Milan always failed get three points will give bad and get other chance for Juventus ti get first position on fixtures. I think last night Milan looks easy how to win from Parma after pass all match in this season without loss, although Milan still unbeaten in this season but if always draw not enough for Milan back to champion league next season after missing more than five years ans become bed memorize for Milanisti how to feel playing on champion league again.
Milan is not losing in Serie A, but that will not be enough for the championship. Juventus is just getting in shape and when they reach their peak I think they will regain the lead. I suppose that Juventus will fight for the championship with Inter. But it would be nice if Milan could play consistently throughout the season, without recessions.
I think the Milan squad will still be strong if the game is still like this the point difference is far enough as long as Milan can keep the victory they will definitely win this season without a recession.
Inter is also the same I am not so sure that Inter is always bad at the end of the season so many failures have occurred and Juventus will definitely continue to pursue to control the position like the previous season but I want to know what if the two meet in their best performances like Milan vs Juve which much to look forward to.

Milan in theory should not have any particular recession, also because they have shown us to be able to play as true professionals, (even without the phenomenal Ibrahimovich) in all the last games, at least since June. I believe that even if there will be losses, they won't be as significant to their score.

I don't know if you heard Vettel's radio team at the end of the race, to say goodbye to Ferrari, it was something wonderful, done with the heart.
Sebastian edited the lyrics of a famous Italian song "Azzurro", singing it in Italian and thanking everyone for these years together and wishing him the best for the future.
In the many years that I have followed Formula 1, I have never felt anything so human

It was very moving, and I say this as an Italian. After a lifetime of racing, this chapter also came to an end. This year has been particularly intense for almost every sport. Formula 1 remains one of the competitions that excites me the most, and when Vettel said goodbye to Ferrari, after 6 years of being together, it was a blow to the heart. I wish him the best of luck in life.

It would make me happy too if Juventus went further ahead. They had a bad start in the first matches and I hope they can recover a bit in the next ones. Regarding Milan, on the other hand, it has to be said that they have been very skillful in almost every game, even if sometimes they had more luck, and other times less.

Even though I am not an active gambler and never tried to bet in a horse race, I think that they are doing their best to take care of their horses, some already considered it as their part of their lives like their buddy so I wouldn't think that they will harm their horse, I don't think that they will force their horse to race if it is not feeling well. I know how they take care of their horses and spend huge money on the maintenance and the health of the animals. I just don't trust the link you have states above.

I don't make bets neither, but what I think he is trying to say with the information he has shown us is that these owners don't always treat their horses as if they were their home pets. Unfortunately, it's a well-known fact that many of them make a profit on races wearing out these poor animals.
