I can't vote ? Do i need more posts to be able to see the vote button or sth ?  Huh

Anyways, i just noticed something...

WE ARE NOT ON WIKIPEDIA ! YET ! Bitcoin / Litecoin / Darkcoin are there, so are other major coins theres, even POTcoin is there . Its time to get started and list it there. I mentioned in IRC before to others, but i'm just a guy from the construction industry so my IT knowledge is very very limited, but i really do suggest that someone more knowledgeable write up a spreadcoin article there, because basically nowadays everyone google-fu for somethings first, then wikipedia it the next when the information offered isn't enough, else wikipedia links would also be at the first page of that google search, next thing they'd youtube it.

So since we have people working on the video, who is up to do some simple tech writing ?

I posted this at http://spreadcointalk.org/index.php?topic=78.0 , but to me it was just so important, that i'd have to repost it here, so here it is:

Hi guys, just throwing all my thoughts out there, i don't know about the majority of others, but i got into crytocurrency because i was a hardware enthusiast, i means theres got to be other ways to use that powerful pc you just bought other than surfing the web and play games right ? =)

I frequent sites like:
1. www.engadget.com
2. www.anandtech.com
3. www.tomshardware.com

i notice that while they don't normally post much about cryptocurrency, they do from time to time post little bits of it, thats IMHO is the mainway to push cryptocurrency mainstream. There are more hardware enthusiast than they are miners.

The hardest thing to attract people are the requirement to do command line entrys which greatly scares most beginners, even if they have like $2000.00 machines, they know nothing about IT. But with Spreadcoin, the miner is integrated into the wallet !!!!!

Can we like push THIS MAJOR SELLING POINT to reviewers and to spread the news about our awesome coin ?

Built in Miner, don't need to disable your antivirus, no scrary black and white command lines and .bat stuffs, and anything etc. just download x32 or x64 and bam, your a cryto miner, spread miner ~

I really apologize for my actions yesterday or was it the day before ? (it was embarrassingly stupid when i think and look back at it, my lame excuse for it was that i was having a really really REALLY bad day).

Anyhow i'm just posting here to say that i haven't forgotten about my contribution (of 500 SPR) to the bounty if public pools appear. And i will continue to support spread to the end. Like i said, we are in this for the long term.

Its nice too see the discussion returning to a more informative and formal one, and not like MMORPG Flame wars (that i have retired from since long ago).

I just want to say thank you all and also offer my apologies to all for my burst of anger yesterday. i was having a bad day (really really bad day, one you'd call the worst day of your life) ... I'd normally only read and never post i guess i should do that more often now.

I am really sad that this thread has come to this everyone Sad It really is just depressing what Bitcointalk has turned into nowadays and the people in it who have tons of sockpuppet accounts thinking that they are fooling people OMG!! I would though however like to see one of the nay sayers build a public pool and get fucking proved right wrong and have all the coins stolen lmao But we all know not one single person who is being negative about this coin would even try to create a pool because they know they would fail and thus all their ridiculous efforts to sabotage this coin would most indefinitely have failed Smiley Anyways looking forward to what this month brings for SpreadCoin Smiley Cheers

Noobkid, please learn, i saw his BIG RED WORDS only when you quoted him, please just IGNORE him and move on, he has made his point clear that he is in here to troll, please do not feed him any further than you had already did.

You're flat out wrong regarding the amount of people mining this coin.  More likely far less than 100 individual miners with 10% of those getting 90% of the coins.  Mostly farms using optimized miner on private pools.  We all know that optimized miners and pools exist for this coin and have for some time.  FPGA is likely in use as well.

Spreadnodes are you still pissing and moaning around here? Why? What do you think you are going to accomplish? I really don't get it at all!!! Why do you care so much if there is people with optimized miners and even if there was pools for this coin why are you so desperately concerned about it?

I can't see his post anymore as i ignored him, you should do the same, i'm betting he wants to pressure Wolf0 to release his miner to the public or at least give it to him to make him shut up. It'll never work.

Based on his theory, Wolf0 has been showing off his optimized Darkcoin X11 miner (50% more hashrate) for almost half the year 2014 (When Darkcoin rised) and it wasn't until the leak couple months back that he just dumped it out to the community. and Wolf0 also mentioned that the miner could had been further optimized but he didn't wanted to waste time on it.

So in his theory, we should all dump darkcoin and cash out when wolf was showing off his optimized miner (since august-september 2014 ? ) as it was unfair,
even now there might be even more optimized version of x11 miner than wolf0 leaked kernel, so we should still dump all Darkcoins and run for the hills as its an unfair coin.

Anyone willing to take me up on the operation of a public spr mining pool... Please msg me Wink

Currently 100 spr up for grabs.

I will add 400 SPR to that for a total of 500 SPR - I would like to see a public pool up and running with found blocks and rewards going out to individual wallets.  This offer is good until 2-14-15.

I'll add 2000 for a total of 2500.  I frankly don't care very much about no pools and am curious to see what it'll take to overcome it.

I'm here because Mr. Spread is a damn fine developer and I invest in developers.

I'll Add 500 to make that figure reach 3000, i believe with the bounty stacking up like this will end this farce once and for all.

(But my condition is that the pool has to be able to operate publicly non-stop and functioning for 30 days at least before they would get my part of the bounty, it is doable but security would be a BIG MAJOR ISSUE)

Same as what MyFarm said, we are here to invest in Mr. Spread, i'll make it simple for you to understand.

Quote from this page:

"First of all, I’d contend that nearly every invention in the engineering or sciences is an improvement on what has come before – such as Tesla’s improvements to alternating current. That’s what innovation is. It’s a social process that occurs in a social context."

Literally, since i have ignored the posts of the FUD spammers, i care not of their post and i can't see them unless others quote them. But the points is, i don't understand their agenda here. If they are here to support darkcoin, they are making a very bad example to that.

Basically they are saying:

Bitcoin is a shit coin (Virtual Currency)
Litecoin stole from Bitcoin and is a shit coin (algo change when everyone else copy and pasted the whole thing including the algo)
Darkcoin stole from Litecoin and is a shit coin (Further algo change and implementation of anonymous transaction and masternodes)
Spreadcoin stole from Darkcoin and is a shit coin (Various improvements such as smoother reward decrease, a more decentralize oriented network, currently in the progress of implementing instant transactions and other improvements on masternodes)

We are here to bet on the innovations that Mr. Spread will bring along to the crypto world, will he deliver ? we are investing and hoping that he would, and in truth he had delivered more than we had expected.

Is there a risk ? Everything now in crypto is a risk, SPR is where i am willing to roll my dices on. Where are you rolling the your dices ? I believe that Mr. Spread is on a right track and would be able to bring in various innovations to be made available for the entire altcoin community due to his insistence that everything be open sourced, but despite who would pick up later...

i.e.
?coin stole from Spreadcoin and is a shitcoin (Will ?coin finally be the coin that can compete with the likes of paypal , Visa , Mastercard, alibaba for online payment and trade ?)

Or would Spreadcoin just be that coin ? We won't know until that time ever arrives. Even Bitcoin at the moment is a niche payment option in the online community (except silkroad)

First FUD ended !!!

Lets resume the thread normally, i really don't see much of the FUDDERs' points of argument, sure there are always exceptions in one way or another, but to ensure that these exception can never compromise the network in its entirety is this coin's selling point.

So what if wolf and sp sells optimized miners to a handful of people ? At the very least these 2 are making it known on the main threads and they have actual products, i'd probably can easily go over the miner sites in china and find similiar posts there, are people there selling these 2's miners in a different languange ? are these new miners made by different people with different hashrate increments ? i don't care and i dont mind.

Mr. spread is not God, he can't make everything perfect in spreadcoin alone and without a team (i'm anti-religion btw, and by definition god doesn't need to be smart, they can turn dust to gold and water to wine anyways), but he has proven he has better knowledge in this field than what we've seen from other coin devs (team, solo or otherwise) throughout 2014.

At this point in time, i personally think of it as the third generation (or forth generation) of cryptocurrency age, trying to profit from short term is impossible anymore, we're in here for the long haul, thanks for your FUD, we've survived it and we will move on.

NEXT~~~~~~~

I really think its time to come out with a proper slogan, no pool is a point, not really a slogan, i imagine visualizing something like water coming up from the ground and from PLAN VIEW you see it spreading in all directions, what's a good slogan for that ? "spreadcoin wave incoming!?"

Thumbs up to spread, i've been looking on for awhile now since network was 300mh/s

never got to really mining it but i've been around the irc channels #spreadcoin and wow its so quiet there until 1-2 weeks ago. now theres a bot there and everything seems like a more proper coin now.

I'm just voicing out my thoughts, like everyone said we need to make it hassle free and try bundling everything with the miner...

but with driver issues and etc. i believe it will be quite a long time before that can be done.

So first we need to solve 1 problem.

I'm trying to make my gpu mine casually on my PC, but i can and the best thing that solved that for me is the -i function to make the gpu run at certain % and from that certain db(noise) value and while allowing me to still watch youtube and movies on my PC (of course for serious gaming i would need to switch it off) from "https://github.com/tpruvot/ccminer/releases".

I use that version of ccminer to mine darkcoin at 50% and keep the temps less than 70 in my iTX casing (just for fun).

Since most gamers use nvidia (its a fact) try making the spread cudaminer work like this.

Assuming the mindset of people buying lottery tickets, what are the chances ? well if you don't buy it, it will be 0.000000000~~~~~0   but when you buy 1 it becomes 0.00~1 , same should apply to spreadcoin, serious people can buy as much as they want, but for the casual guys well just make it simple.

i can't watch youtube when i have the spreadcoin gpu miner on, nevermind the howling noise it causes the gpu to makes in my room when i go to bed.

and yea i think this is my first post ever in bitcointalks. (i've been reading it since jan 2014)

Go spread !
