Have you thought about buying a piece of property on the moon?

What would the point of that be? Like really?

24  Economy / Auctions / Re: 2011 Casascius 1 BTC Series-1 ERROR HOLO on: February 09, 2015, 07:42:32 AM
Nubbins did you carry this coin around with you? She looks pretty beat up compared to all the others of yours that I have seen/bought.

This had a fair amount of pocket-wear before I bought it, but it had an interesting story. The last owner tried to crowd-fund its destruction (!) but didn't raise what he felt was enough money to make it worthwhile. I can probably find a link somewhere if anyone is interested.

The patina on the front isn't too unsightly; I recently purchased an MS-64 brass coin that was in roughly the same shape as this one, FWIW.

why did you start the auction at 0.1 if it is funded and you could get at least 1btc from it either way?

Impressive track record. Feature request: You should include a note if you feel that some odds are exceptionally good.

OP, by how much has your performance increased after upgrading to the new stable node v0.12? Most people i've talked to were overly positive, but my server usings socket.io had relatively low increases in performance.. Im trying to figure out if im doing something wrong. So hows performance on your end?
27  Economy / Gambling / Re: Primedice | Most Popular & Trusted Bitcoin Game | Huge Community | Free BTC | 1% on: February 09, 2015, 06:50:14 AM
Over half of Primedice daily users are now Russian (53.56%) . We will be releasing a localized chatroom for users logging in with browser language preferences set to RU, there will still be a global chatroom accessible on a separate tab for Russian users who wish to speak in English.

Expect this update within a week. if you are currently within Russia and see this, please send me a PM if you're interested in being an ambassador for Primedice.

Also for affiliates who were having trouble accessing your affiliate panels, please try now and let me know if it works.
will the normal also be see the russian chats?
I hope this wont affect the design of the website.

Just one more thing, alexa shows some different stats and reflects that 23% of your visitors are from russia. are you sure about the 50% thing?
http://www.alexa.com/siteinfo/primedice.com

23% of users with the alexa toolbar are visiting from Russia. Judging by our analytics it seems to have tipped above 50% recently for all users.

The design will only appear different to users logging in from Russia, so your experience will be unaffected.

How has your performance changed after upgrading to nod v0.12? Many people I know are reporting significant improvements, but I just dont see it..

29  Bitcoin / Hardware wallets / Re: OVERVIEW: BITCOIN HARDWARE WALLETS █████████████████ Secure your Coins on: February 07, 2015, 06:55:50 AM
I must say, I am more than happy with trezor. You can really see that they thought long and hard about every possible attack vector. There is no sloppiness.

36  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: Bitcoin Buddy on: February 07, 2015, 06:40:10 AM
Hey everyone! I’ve started on a little project and I just wanted to gauge if there would be any interest in something like this.

Basically it would just be a nice little widget that you can put on your wall and plug in that would display the current real-time status of bitcoin (price, a graph, and some other stats)

Some details about it:
  • small, high resolution display
  • Nice frame and case
  • beautiful, thin design
  • Wifi to grab data (add the wifi credentials through your phone)

The thing would probably end up costing about $100 (wifi, small computer, I’d make a custom circuit board for it, display).

Functionally I imagine this more as an art piece / luxury item for people who are heavily invested in bitcoin and don’t mind hanging $100 bill on the wall Tongue If no one’s interested then I’ll just make one for myself haha.

I'd also love to hear people's ideas on what else could be added or maybe different functionality entirely!

Thanks,
wonko

good, another item that reminds me to obsessively check the price Tongue
37  Bitcoin / Hardware wallets / Re: [ESHOP launched] Trezor: Bitcoin hardware wallet on: February 07, 2015, 06:37:41 AM
is there any chance of a second gen coming out in any reasonable time frame? does that even make sense for this product?
I thought I read somewhere that the Trezor team doesn't plan to release a second version of the Trezor. I can't remember exactly where I read it, but I wouldn't have my hopes up for an updated version.

It was also my understanding that they would be focusing on firmware upgrades.
38  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: reddit notes on: February 07, 2015, 06:30:36 AM
It is a pity.... This did sound as if it could be the next "hit" for reddit.

I think, people on their acctually collected tips for Ryan after they let him go. It's just another great idea being blocked by simple laws and legislation.

We tend to govern ourselves in such a manner to stop progress and innovation.  Sad

a real pity, was looking forward to how they would implement this. Their decision process seems quite eratic thb.
39  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: BitHedge.IO - Bitcoin Hedge as Service (feedback required) on: February 07, 2015, 06:27:59 AM
We started a simple bitcoin hedge service. You can eliminate the bitcoin volatility and protect the fiat value of your coins with a few simple steps:

1. Send the bitcoins to a custom address
2. We fix the fiat value of the transaction
3. You get back the fiat value in bitcoins at the specific date you entered

Coming soon:

- satoshidice-like operation (24 hours, 3 days, 1 week etc. addresses)
- API
- fractional reserve
- user accounts

I would really appreciate any feedback you can give me.

Link: https://bithedge.io

bitreserve does this.. but also comes with a good reputation. What do you offer?
40  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: Reused R values again on: February 07, 2015, 06:19:29 AM
I am using bitcoinj-0.11 for creating tx. Is this vulnerable?
Currently, I have not reused any address till now. However, I need to be sure I won't be affected by this.

no, bitcoinj's implementation is sound.
