Yes, you can also check and see that the Gems passphrase you get in your mobile wallet opens the same wallet in https://counterwallet.io/
I tried that and is not the same wallet/balance! I sent some coins from my blockchain wallet, I received them instant in my gems wallet on phone but when I tried to login with those 12 words in counterwallet.io is not the same wallet address and the balance is zero.
