Not saying fair. Superior. What software does your miner run? BFGminer or CGminer? Who created it? Questions you should ask yourself. From personal experience, kano is superior! Do what you want but kano and ck are the best options you have. No questions asked. (but if you do have a question, they will answer them again.!)

edit: with 1 t/s you may get dust. Post your user name and I will do my best to try to make you see kano.is is the best. (disclaimer: I get nothing but good karma for helping people) As for slush, or any other bullshit pool, ask him/them a question. Let's see where you get! No matter what you decide, I wish you the best of luck!

rather you win or not, we all get paid Wink Congrats kilowatt! Now, let's find some more!
23  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: Choosing a pool...? on: February 01, 2016, 09:27:03 AM
With kano there is no question of getting paid. After a block matures, if he isn't sleeping, you get paid. Having a lower hash rate means you don't make a lot. Same goes for any pool. You do get a fair proportion though. I have mined with slush, eligius, bitminter, bitclub (so far hasn't paid out), mmpool, btcc, antpool, discuss fish and bw pool (just the ones still around). The 2 I would recommend is kano.is and bitminter.  Read phillipma's post, there is no bullshit there. But what do I know? I started mining with 2 s3s, and still haven't upped my "farm" yet. Whatever you choose, good luck. One point off topic. I have done quite a few transactions that depended on confirmations. I have seen the big pools hit the blocks and yet my transactions are still unconfirmed.  As soon as one of the "smaller" ones hit, they get confirmed. Is that a coincidence? I think not. Fuck the big pools, slush included. (just lost .025 with them, so not happy LOL) Again, try kano and you can say thanks after you see the BTC in your wallet.

Payout is very important. So, if you want the best bang for your buck it's hands down, kano.is!

Hi,

I want to give a shout out to afaque and say THANKS!! I just looked at my workers today and noticed I had another worker for an added 1.25TH. I am guessing it is an S5 that you have pointed my way and it is extremely gracious of you to give my hash rate a bump.

It is kano.is (& ck solo) pool miners and community members like you that make this the best place to mine in all of BTC!!

Thank You very much afaque,

CapnBDL
     Cool

I know it's not much these days but I hope it helps out a little bit. Good luck!
26  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: Bitminter bitcoin mining pool - Pays TxFees, Merged Mining, Fair PPLNS rewards on: January 29, 2016, 01:31:17 PM
Nope. Everyone that mined got paid for the last 12 blocks. Shifts? Yes, nobody got paid for the last 12 shifts. Miners only get paid if the pool finds a block within the ~45 hr. pplns time frame. Chalk it up to bad luck.
27  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: cgminer problem on: January 28, 2016, 01:14:32 AM
You should listen to ck. One problem with your config file is you don't have a password set. If you have mining hardware, you need to add a password.

it takes a miracle to find a blockage?

last block 39 hours ago

You think this is bad, you should've been here for the 666% block. that was like a week. Couple of days isn't anything.
29  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: ANTMINER S7 is available at bitmaintech.com with 4.86TH/s, 0.25J/GH on: January 20, 2016, 04:07:12 AM

OK, thanks. How about a EVGA 1300 running 2 boards and a CX750 running a board and the controller? Do you think this may work. The reason I ask is because I currently run 7 s3s, a s2 and a s5 on ~4200 watts. (3 evga 1300 and 2 CX750) I want to upgrade to 3 s7s which will put me in about the same wattage but I don't really want to buy too many more PSUs. Think I can make this work?

I think the S2 has a 1000w PSU in there that you could use as well.

Nope. I bought the s2 used. It had an EVGA 1500 watt PSU. I thought that was a bonus until it burned up. (wasn't as great as i thought) I replaced it with a 1300. That's where the 3rd 1300 comes from. I plan on keeping the s5, so I need 1 of the cx750s that I am running. I am hoping I can get away with just buying 2 more of the 750s. I'm not trying to cut corners but at the same time I don't want to spend any more than I have to. I figure with the PSUs I have I should be able to get away with just buying 2 more 750s. I hope.

Can you power an antminer s7 off an evga 1300 and a corsair 500 watt psu? I'm thinking the 1300 for the blades and the 500 for the controller. Would this setup work?

Assuming B8 or B9 unless underclocked I don't see running 3 blades off 1300 watt's.  Also I don't think it comes with 9 PCIe cables (could be wrong been a while since I have opened a box to one).

It would be the evga 1600 to run all 3 blades if you want to do it off 1 psu on evga series.  I would look at 220/240 if at all possible and there are some great server PSU's.  They have really taken over S7 market on PSU's being used.

How about a private pool.
We have members who will send us all info if it goes private.

In fact, 4 members part of our group have commented on this, and were mining as of this morning on the pool.

This was a TARGETED attack, NOT a RANDOM attack.

So there are 5 people trying to strong arm 2 BTC? What kind of sense does that make? That's less than 200 bucks per person. You guys need a career. JohnnyBravo, why not start a donation address to cover cloudfire expenses for your pool. You may be surprised. Reading this last page made me wish I was well off enough to cover it for you. It wouldn't be much but I would gladly donate some coinage to help your pool. Just saying.
33  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: How to withdraw BTC from AntPool? on: January 13, 2016, 09:38:56 PM
Payouts on antpool are automatic. There is nothing for you to do. As long as your balance is over .001. It's all on their support page.
34  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: New to BTC Mining - Questions I haven't found answers to... on: December 31, 2015, 05:37:57 AM
You could always invest a few dollars into some T.E.C.s and turn the heat that they are generating into some air conditioning. Just sayin'. If you're a teacher then you should be teaching how to overcome obstacles. No disrespect intended. T.E.C.s are a viable way to convert heat into something useful.

mmpool, i have a question. I am still a newbie so what the hell. A couple of few hours ago I switched all my miners over to your pool. At the time it was registering about 2.5T or somewhere around there. I figured it just needed time to ramp up. I went over to a friends house for a couple of hours, when I got back I figured I would check on my progress. All my stats on the api were 0. I logged into my miners and they were all running at ~75gh. None of them failed over yet none of them were hashing. I've tried most pools and have never seen this happen. I'm just wondering if you could possibly explain what might have went wrong? Thanks in advanced.
36  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: Moving from slush to where with 29 Th/s ? NOW: competition pool vs. pool. on: December 30, 2015, 05:23:42 PM
Once you hit your 5N, at current pool hash rate you will be getting ~.02 per block with kano. So it will take ~10 blocks on slush to reach the same amount. On days like yesterday, when we hit 3 that takes ~30 blocks with slush. Stick with kano and you won't be sorry. Since march of this year my little 5T setup has gotten me over 10 bitcoins with kano. Not bad at all IMO.
37  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: I need help with mining rig please please guys. Im still having the same issue on: August 06, 2015, 01:59:38 PM
Are you sure you have your miner's ip address correct? You can use the program Advanced IP Scanner to scan for all devices on your network.

Can anyone tell me if a 750w psu would be able to run an s2 with just 5 or 6 hashing boards? The reason I ask is because I recently bought one off ebay. It ran fine for ~ a week. Yesterday the psu caught fire, so I took it out and am now waiting on a new one. I have a 750 running an s3 and I'm just trying to maximize my potential. Any input is appreciated.

Check the data on the PSU.
Make sure the 12v rails have enough 12v capacity.
Just because a PSU says 750W does not mean the 12v rails will provide a full 750W.
The newer ones do list them as such but most older ones is a "total of all" the various voltages...
Check out Server PSUs on ebay for replacements rather than desktop PSUs.

If you have a bunch of 12V miners running on PSUs PM me and I will get you some info.

MM

The psu I have is a Corsair CXM Series CX750. On the +12v rail it is 62 amp 744 watts. I'm just wondering if it will run 5 or 6 of the boards until my new supply comes in, which according to ebay won't be for about a week and a half. I guess maybe I should have asked what the wattage of each board is?

My bad, sorry. The only error I get is, status:DEAD. I am reading up on how to upgrade cgminer, to no avail. Every time I try to flash an updated firmware my screen just goes blank with a stupid message I don't recall right now. Again, my apologies. I really wanted to see my hash rate over 5 TH/s without rentals.

i know this sounds really basic, but its happened to me.. did you put a space after the url:port?

"stratum+tcp://stratum.kano.is:3333 " < space

i know the s5 hates a space there, it shows as dead.. s3 i dont think cares so much. dunno about s2.

Thanks. I didn't even consider that, and it's working.
