You guys are chasing rabbits down holes the proof of work logic is indisputable. I would be looking at who is hashing what before worrying about faults in the algorithm. The banksters methods of manipulating markets are crude and well known to the switched on. The payback will be simple, crude and done through regulation and the taxation system.
