running this sort of site in the background would kinda be cheating

Speaking of cheating...I noticed that it was trivially easy to game the system by clicking the same ad (the only ad) over and over until the timer ran down.
Sorry about that http://www.weusecoins.com, hopefully they don't charge you multiple times for clicks originating from the same IP.

why is this too long?
its not hard to reduce the time.. thats the concept!

Because people don't want to sit there and stare at their screens doing nothing for 5 minutes.
Also if I go to another browser window the timer stops so I can't even run it in the background.
23  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Dwolla changes TOS to prohibit Bitcoin transactions? on: May 16, 2012, 02:04:30 AM
So assuming I can no longer use Dwolla to transfer cash from Mt.Gox to my bank account, what are the best reputable options available?
24  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Mt.Gox Trading API on: May 04, 2012, 01:30:00 AM
Has anybody been able to successfully interface with the Mt.Gox trading API in Linux?
I've been pulling my hair out for hours trying to figure this shit out.

My program logic is all flow charted and pseudo-coded but first I need to connect.
I chose Perl because I'm familiar with it but perhaps Java would be easier.

Any tips on how to get started?
25  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / What happened to my addresses? on: April 28, 2012, 02:19:24 AM
I only have addresses in my address book from my most recent transactions.  I can only assume this is because I recently updated my bitcoin client (0.6.0.6-beta).
My balance and transaction history is still in tact so I'm OK there.  I just want to make sure that any new BTC sent to old addresses would still be received.
Is this normal after an upgrade?
26  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: MTGox a scam? on: September 20, 2011, 01:16:35 AM
When I contacted MTGox they responded within a couple of hours.  Granted I was just bitching that I couldn't use PayPal but still it was prompt and from a human.
Also, I've been exchanging USD/BTC freely for at least a year and have never had any problems.

The fuck?!  How long am I stuck in the newbies section for?

Due to a mass of trolling, only established posters are able to post in non-newbie sections. You are considered "established" if you have spent 4 hours online and have made 5 posts.

nevermind
